I really enjoyed going to the flex gym it was all I really needed. I would go mainly just to walk. it

I signed up for a year-long program with trainer and nutritionist (doable monthly fee). I'm very excited and impressed with their program. The Saratoga location has the most equipment but I go to the Alameda location because it's a mile from my house. The trainers are very attentive, and extremely knowledgeable( Ovidio and Kianti are mine). Can't wait to lose 20 lb, build lower body muscle and all over toning.

You definitely get what you pay for, only around $20 a month for access to all the basic equipment a gym should have, plus fitness classes and the best part it’s 24/7 & you get to bring a friend with you for free every time. Equipment is rather outdated and definitely needs to be upgraded, but customer service and friendliness from staff is excellent. I got a free treat for my birthday and 2 free personal training sessions with instructors that actually are knowledgeable about both training and nutrition and push you! If you’re looking for affordable and convenient to fit a good workout in your schedule, this is the perfect gym.

I have been a member of this gym for over a year. I had a recent injury to my leg. The injury has kept me from being able to exercise at all. I needed to cancel my membership. Dean at the Alameda site was extremely kind, professional, and took care of my cancellation. I highly recommend this gym. Hopefully when my leg gets well, I can return

If I could give zero stars I would. Let me start by saying the gym itself is not too bad, it’s subpar, the problem I had was with mostly with staff. I took my friend ( a veteran) to workout with me. He accidentally left his very expensive noise canceling headphones there and when we realized the next day we started calling. They would NOT help us. I left messages, numbers and even went up there to see if they could look at video but nobody helped. My friend has not been able to workout since. He has PTSD and an injury and needs those headphone to block loud noise from weights that trigger panic. I’m saving up to buy him some more but the cost is almost $500. I’m just super disappointed at the total lack of concern from staff. This man gave us the right to live freely and sacrifice and they have little to no concern for what happens here. I’m totally disappointed and will never use this gym. Yes it was his fault for leaving them there but it’s the gyms responsiblity to ensure a wholesome environment. I would not recommend this gym. There are other gyms that are more involved with customers and members. It’s a total shame.

Definitely one of the better gyms I've been to. I used to be a member of 24-hour Fitness and Flex Fit Gym is much more cozy. Besides, this gym has a boxing bag, where 24-hour Fitness does not. I am not a "muscle head", I enjoy the cardio benefits of boxing.

I love this gym very much. The layout and atmosphere is not that of your typical gym and is peaceful if not inviting. Your typical "Broforce" type individuals are few and far between as the varied clientele at this gym demonstrates that all are welcome. The price is great and it's 24/7. Okay why the one star hit you may ask? Machines are repaired but sometimes it takes quite a bit of time before your goto piece of equipment is serviced. Yes, its 24/7, but sometimes their badge door system fails due to their networking/computer gear and you can't get in - not fun when you want to start a 4 am workout. This has improved, but only recently. Overall though I would recommend this gym based on the pleasant set up and everyday people crowd that frequents flex fit.

I like this place cuz it's near my house but... I question the sanitation and cleanliness. I've seen blood in certain places near gym equipment and on the floor. I've had to clean it myself. I work in the medical field so I know how disgusting and how dangerous blood can be. Their equipment and restrooms need to have a good cleaning also.

Went for the first time with a friend who just signed up for a membership. All of the equipment, while clean, is very old and outdated. About 1/3 of the electric machines (treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes) we're out of service.

Overall it was a very dissapointing experience so she is cancelling her membership and is going to try Planet Fitness.

Update 4/17/18

After canceling her membership over a month ago, she has been charged a total of $90 for canceling the membership, April's fee, and the yearly fee with no notice.

If you are planning on cancelling your membership make sure you put a stop payment with your credit card for Flex Fit.

Currently in the process of reporting to the BBB. Save your money and go somewhere else reputable.

It's an ok gym, the problem is just that it caters more towards the elderly, not really for getting a harder workout in. Lots of machines and treadmills if you're into that. Theres like 3 squat racks, and 2 bars. Couple times I've been there I had to take a smaller bar from the unused bench press because the other 2 were in use. They have a small variety of bumper plates, but no platforms, just mats. If you work olympic lifts and drop the bar all the old people there will give you dirty looks and complain to the staff. Guess it raises their blood pressure too much. To start a membership its $60, then for basic gym access its 9.95 a month, which isn't that bad, but you get what you pay for.

TLDR: If you don't lift all that much and enjoy a softer exercise routine with machines/treadmills, this is the gym for you. You'll just have to beat all the old people to them first.

I'm rating one stars because of the overall experience of canceling my membership. Sign up was great staff was friendly I really enjoyed it. No problem with the upfront fees. Always clean and they offer great classes with amazing instructors. However I went to cancel and felt pressured for an awnser to why I was canceling. Then they tried to hustle me to "mail" my cancellation when I was already there in person to cancel. Told me to stay cause my cards already being charged for January next week said they can't do anything. Then offered to freeze my account for six months. I said no because I didn't wanna pay an annual fee on top of cancellation fees. I just didn't like how I felt during my cancellation experience. I chose this gym because of the no contract system they have. I called my credit card company to inform them I do not authorize anymore payments after my cancellation fee of 29.95.

UPDATE: GYM SAID IF I DISPUTE JANUARYS CHARGE OF 19.95 THEY WILL SEND THAT TO COLLECTIONS.

so much for a "NO" contract gym.

went there with my 3yr old yesterday just to see what they have to offer and of course the child care, the staff was friendly, informative and I was starting to like it. Towards the end an old guy came from the elliptical side (must of been watching us) cause he just came and yank the little touch screen from my son and then went back to working out. He could of said sorry don't touch it or the guy that I was talking to me could of said it as well. Sorry but if you're going to have kids there you need to learn how to act towards them expecially if their parents are not around (can you imagine what does happen). Fyi no-one was around the counter and he was not destructive or loud, guess I'll just keep looking.......I called apparently he's a trainer.... better he's actions happened then, I could only imagine what happens when parents aren't around

Seemed like a decent gym. Advertising 20$ a month. Tried to hit me with almost 60$ to sign up forcing you to pay for your last month and and 35$ annual charge on February even if your not there for a year. Wanted to try it out even though they do not offer a trial period but thats ridiculous and its fee gouging. I just want a 20 min work out on lunch breaks. Other places with better prices and less fees!!

Best gym I have ever been a part of. For the price you pay you get such amazing quality of equipment and instructors. MICHELLE LOPEZ IS THE BEST FITNESS INSTRUCTOR YOU WILL FIND. Literally a week after taking her classes I see major differences in my body after having my baby. GO TO HER CLASSES! She is the best and truly cares about your well being and getting you to where you want to be! Wish she taught more classes!
