I worked with Jamie for around 1-2 years, and can confidently say, Jamie is AWESOME!! I was so out of shape (inflexible, flabby, weak, felt terrible, like a lump of human). Jamie took time to listen to my goals, worked with me, adjusted and continued to push me to grow both stronger, more confident, and more flexible. I also appreciate his attention to detail - he never pushed too hard (I've seen some scary intenseOh, gym-bro trainers), he listened when I had "off days" or was under the weather - we adjusted, and he found ways to shake things up, while keeping the workouts interesting and challenging. I also highly appreciated how movement focused he was - he knows so much about anatomy - he could tell when I wasn't properly positioned and could explain how one muscle group could impact another. After a long 7 hr flight, I came in so stiff, and I had pulled something in my leg from sitting for so long - I literally hobbled into the gym that day, he figured it out and stretched and worked with me on it- and I could actually walk out at the end of our session. Honestly, I would still love to work with him, and will probably go back at some point - but for now, I'm going to fly out of the nest and see how I do on my own - He's given me the confidence and tools (and helped me get into the habit) for me to try this on my own. What more can you ask for? A coach who roots for you, even when you're leaving. . .Jamie is fantastic. (and funny) and he gets results! THANK YOU JAMIE!

Jamie is a great personal trainer. I am a lifelong chronic pain sufferer and always thought the gym was just not meant for people like me. With Jamie’s help and encouragement, I’m doing things I truly never believed possible including daily life activities like yard work without pain and not having to ask my husband to get heavy items for me. I’m also enjoying activities like hiking and kayaking. I was nervous about signing up with a male trainer at first, but Jamie knows a lot about fitness for women and it’s a total non-issue. What’s really surprising is I truly enjoy going to the gym now, I never would have believed that of myself. It’s truly life changing. I can’t recommend Jamie enough.

Jamie is a fantastic personal trainer who does a great job at building the right program for you based on your goals. I worked with Jamie for over a year and saw huge improvements in my strength, and most of the minor aches and pains that I had when I first started training are gone now. Jamie is also really easy to talk to which can make training more enjoyable, especially on days where you are just feeling tired and not 100%. I would recommend Jamie to anyone who wants to lose weight, get stronger, or learn how to diagnose and correct some of the basic problems that come from a sedentary lifestyle.

Jamie was really great to work with. I've tried for years in fits and starts to exercise myself and figure it out on my own, but always had trouble figuring out what to do and lost motivation. I also had lower back pain and didn't know what exercises to do to best target that and make me stronger. Jamie showed me the proper form, was very knowledgable and explained the muscle groups worked with different exercises, introduced a lot of variety each session so that the workouts were always fresh and challenging, and taught me about the importance of foam rolling and stretching. I'm so glad I went to Jamie and highly recommend him to anyone.

Training with Jamie is one of the best decisions I've made. I have never exercised regularly, and now I actually want to work out. He's extremely knowledgeable, encouraging and my workouts are fun and varied. Jamie always pays attention to form, providing helpful corrections/cues to prevent injuries. I have learned so many things that I use in my everyday life and movement patterns, and I am thrilled with the progress I've made over the last 6 months. Bonus points because Jamie's a genuinely nice guy who is happy to meet people where they are on their health and fitness journeys.

Unbelievable! I haven't wanted to work out a day in my life, and because of that I needed to start fast and not hurt myself doing it. I was advised by many people to start working with Jamie and after a few months I can honestly say, I'm able to live my life without the aches and pains that had built up in my body over time. Jamie creates fun workouts that are different every time he trains me and pays attention to making sure I learn the correct mechanics that help me not hurt myself. The things I've learned working with him have seeped into my daily life, from how I pick up my children to the way I use more muscles to do yard work. I'm also a lot more active all the way around. I can't recommend starting to train with Jamie enough.

I was looking for a personal trainer who could help me find out why and how to prevent injuries that kept recurring as a result of my weight training at home. Jamie is exactly the personal trainer that I was looking for and has helped me so much to solve these issues. I've learned so much from him about strength training and injury prevention. He is very experienced and knowledgeable and dedicated to helping his client.

I can't say enough great things about Jamie and his incredible depth of knowledge when it comes to training and maintaining the body. Full disclosure, Jamie is my cousin and I don't live in Austin but that's part of what has made his ability to help me so amazing. Even working remotely he's made a huge difference. As someone who is very active, I've had a number of strains and injuries that I've been unable to resolve, even through physical therapy. Each time one of these issues arises, whether it's a strained rotator cuff, my nagging elbow tendinitis or lower back pain that tends to flair up occasionally, Jamie has been able to identify the culprit (it isn't always what you think it is), and then guide me through exercises and massage techniques to not just alleviate the pain but also prevent reoccurrence. I also did a virtual session with him recently to develop some strength building exercises and his thoroughness and attention to detail ensured that I wasn't just exercising, but doing it in a way that will give me the most benefit while also avoiding injury in the process. I'd highly recommend him for anyone looking to get into shape, improve their overall fitness, or deal with pain or injuries.

I started seeing Jamie earlier this year. I’d tried several other personal trainers before him, even one that came to my house for maximum convenience, but nothing really stuck. I could never remember the exercises, and I felt I could never do anything on my own because they’d change randomly each session. Yeah, we’d work core and arms and legs and all that jazz, but never in a way that was consistent. It was always so scattered.
Jamie is very different. I generally know what to expect on which day, I learned stretches I should do, and how to do them at home. Stretching And rolling out each morning is now a part of my daily ritual and I feel SO MUCH BETTER for it! There’s a consistency, things I can learn and things I can strive for.
I see Jamie three times a week and it’s fantastic. I feel stronger, more confident, and WAY more active. Rather than being tired after a workout, I leave feeling better than I did when I arrived. By the end of my Friday workout, I usually feel ready to wrestle a bear (though Jamie generally advises against that particular activity.)
My husband noticed the difference in me and now he sees Jamie as well. We both look forward to our sessions with him!
I’d highly recommend Jamie for anyone. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and Jamie has been beyond awesome in designing my workouts around my specific issues. Even my rheumatologists have commented on my increased mobility as well as my weight loss.

Working with Jamie at FPF changed my life. When I first went to him, I was very out of shape, pre-diabetic, and had chronic joint pain. I had my fill of the typical gym/trainers who went all out to get my membership and other “extra” fees, but couldn’t care less about helping me achieve serious, lasting progress. I was just on the verge of giving up. Then I found Jamie. Because he has expertise in all areas of fitness, nutrition and corrective exercise, he was able to build a plan that was customized to my long-term goals. He is passionate and serious about what he does. As a result, I am healthier, stronger and more flexible than I have ever been. Best of all, he has taught me to integrate movement and stability into my everyday life. I cannot recommend Jamie highly enough!

I have a confession to make: I get around a lot. I’ve lived in the Austin area for over 25 years and have trained with a lot of trainers. I’ve worked out at almost all the big box gyms and a handful of smaller, more personal ones. I’ve done outdoor bootcamps, ran half marathons, and trained for triathlons. Of all the coaches or trainers I’ve interacted with, I have to say that Jamie is the most knowledgeable about form and mechanics. And if he isn’t the most knowledgeable, he at least has taken the most time to train and educate. Every hour I’ve spent with him, he continues to cue my form and help make it better. I especially like the fact that he puts a special emphasis on form as a factor to avoiding injury. I think I got really lucky to have met Jamie. If you’re out there looking for a trainer, whether you are new to weight lifting and fitness, or have been around the block and want to improve your form, I highly recommend Jamie!

I had recently had back surgery and just finished physical therapy when I found Jamie. Not only has Jamie helped with my back issues, he's also made me stronger all over. I've never felt better and I'm 40 years old. Jamie tailors your training to your needs and his encouragement is infectious. My in-laws hadn't seen me in months and actually complemented me on my looks. Jamie is THAT good.

I can't shout my praises high enough for JAMIE! I came to him already with a good level/understanding of fitness, but wanted to focus on my shoulder and upper body strength. I've always leaned towards group fitness type stuff. I thought working with a trainer wouldn't benefit me because I can find workouts online and count my own reps...lol
Working with Jamie is everything you want from a personal trainer! The way he cues and explains the various movements is what really sets him apart as a trainer. He makes sure I understand what muscle groups we are working, WHY and how to do it all safely/effectively. He has a great personality and doesn't sugar coat what you need to do if you want results. He truly makes sure you have a great foundation (which meant I have had to re-learn some things) so you can maximize your workouts.
I have loved the progress I've made thus far and really look forward to reaching some big goals with his guidance!
