I cannot say enough wonderful things about this studio. I’ve been coming here for years, and it has truly changed my life in ways I never expected. When I first started, I was just looking for a place to dance, but what I found was so much more — a place that reminded me how to be myself again, and how to love life.

Lucero, Javi, and Emilio are not only incredibly talented, but also deeply encouraging and supportive. They meet you exactly where you are, whether you’re a complete beginner or have been dancing for years. Their passion for teaching and genuine care for each student shines through in every class.

I was part of this dance studio for three years and had many positive experiences along the way. The teachers are talented and welcoming, and the environment often felt like a second home. I appreciated the support I received during my time there and the sense of community that was fostered.
That said, over time I came to understand that while the atmosphere felt very personal, it is still a business first and foremost. The cost of classes and participation is not cheap, (it cannot be for the incomparable instruction you are receiving) and I sometimes struggled with the balance between feeling cared for as an individual and being part of a commercial system.
I’m grateful for the memories and training, and I recognize that everyone’s experience will be different. For those considering joining, it’s worth keeping in mind both the emotional and financial aspects involved, so you can find the right fit for your needs and expectations
Yes they will welcome you with open arms and make you feel like family. However, at the end of the day, this is a business and the talented staff have a job to do—sometimes that means decisions are made from a professional standpoint rather than a personal one.

My husband and I have been enjoying our dance lessons for 9 months at Fred Astaire Dance Studios - Lake Houston. We can now comfortably dance two-step, salsa, merengue, bachata, rumba, waltz, and enjoy the dance parties offered at the studio. Came in to learn some basic dance moves with my husband and we haven’t stopped dancing yet! Instructors are fantastic and very knowledgeable. They make the lessons go so well. The group classes add to the overall experience and give you a taste of what other dance styles you may want to add into your repertoire.
They frequently have Friday parties (with a theme) that are a lot of fun and get you excited to hit the floor to show off your moves.

Emilio taught our country western level 1&2 class today. I was worried because I did not have a dance partner (i was not the only girl) but he was able to multitask dancing with both girls and give positive feedback with constructive criticism to the whole class. It was a very fun experience! 10/10 recommend for beginners

Lake Houston FADS is a great place to learn ballroom dancing in an inviting and friendly environment. The entire team is wonderful and very supportive of all students. There is something for everyone: group classes, private lessons, monthly social dancing parties, performance and competition opportunities and now they offer online Watch Parties on FB for groups and private lessons. So you can literally dance in the comfort of your own home like no one is watching, because guess what.... no one is! ; ) Good energy and lots of fun! Had stopped by to signup for classes for myself, wife and two teens, was met by a young guy at the front desk, asked a couple of questions and then the phone rang, he then spent the next 15 minutes ignoring everyone talking to his boyfriend.

This is my happy place. I really enjoy every moment of the time that I spend dancing/ working out here. There is so much positive energy here. So far I've only had lessons with Erika. I've met Alex and interacted
with Louise, too, and they are wonderful people. Erika 1) made things a lot of fun, and 2) was very effective as a teacher - I advanced in technical skill quickly. She took the time to learn a little bit about me, in order to find the best ways to make what she was teaching "relatable" to similar experiences I've had. Whether those experiences had to do with boxing or piano lessons as a child, she found a way to reach me where I was and then bring me up in skill. I couldn't say enough great things about her teaching.

For a fun way to stay active and meet others, I highly recommend Fred Astaire Dance Studio. The teachers are experienced dancers who can also impart their knowledge in a way that's easy to understand. The Fred Astaire method of progressing through levels gives you something to aim for and a feeling of accomplishment. The group classes and parties are both fun and informative as well as a good way to meet other students. You can get as involved as you wish by participating in shows and competitions or just enjoy dancing with friends in a fun, safe environment.

As a continuing student since February 2012 I'd like to offer my review of the Lake Houston Fred Astaire Studio. In 2015 new owners invigorated this studio. They brought in new instructors and are very selective with the coaches they use. I've found the current studio organization to be outstanding. They are fun! More importantly they provide the highest quality instructions with both group and private lessons. Whether you're an experienced dancer or a novice there's a great experience awaiting you at this studio. Regular Friday parties add to the excitement and social atmosphere. You'll always find a friendly smile awaiting you and an unparalleled dance experience.

My wife and I purchased a package of dance lessons in 2013 to prepare for our wedding. With the dance class, they offered a free pair of ladies dance shoes, which were supposed to be of great quality and high value, however when we went to pick up the shoes they were conveniently out of my wife’s size. Over the course of the next 2 years we were promised multiple times that they were on order and would be in ‘soon’. Low and behold, our 2 year anniversary is around the corner and we have yet to receive our shoes. Don’t trust the owners/management, very shady practices.
