Staff is the rock in this place, reliable and gym is always clean.
Sanitizer: return back the sanitizers where they were before.
Getting this gym up to 4 stars. After 3 years here; I would say it is a solid 4 Stars. Staff is 5 stars. Very respectful staff and professional. Keep your Staff that way. I have not changed gym because of the highly reliable SOLID staff. They take their job very seriously. Management, please remember your staff during holidays. They are great, and I have very high standards, your golden nugget right now is your Staff.

Old review: During the last 2 months there have been issues with the tv channels availability. This has been an ongoing situation that hasn’t been resolved. You go to the gym and the TV channels are FROZEN. I reported it to the front desk and they tell me they’re going to resolve the situation but it doesn’t happen. I happen to go to the gym almost every day, and I have seen a trend with The TV channels not working almost every day - FOR THE LAST 2 months they are frozen on and off—but how come that some of the channels are not?
You explain this to me what’s going on here I don’t want to think that is social engineering happening in the gym too. What is going on??
Please do not limit our freedom of speech…it is called Freedom Fitness for a reason.
Rather than that I LOVE THE GYM.

Thanks for the Disservice!
I was incorrectly billed by Freedom Fitness for several months after being assured by Tyler that my membership was canceled . This ongoing charge was for a service I never used. When I finally cancelled in writing, I was told that i am still going to be charged a improper pending annual fee after matter of discussion. i will not be paying your annual fee and even if i have to make a day out of it i will be disputing the last several months of charges. Do not trust verbal assurances from employees here; get all cancellation agreements in writing i wouldn't have left in confidence if i was sure it was going to be cancelled. Just goes to show their billing practices are misleading and improper.

I’ve been going to this location off and on for a few years. I like that it’s got a neighborhood vibe, and it’s not pretentious. I love that gym has a women’s only area, and I use it all the time. Six months ago, I started working out regularly with Stanley doing personal training sessions. He knows how to mix it up every time and hit as may muscles as possible. He’s so knowledgeable and creative that he could probably create a killer workout stranded on a dessert island with no equipment. The bonus for me is that although I have a sensitive back, Stanley totally understands how to create safe workouts that kick by butt without aggravating my back. I love seeing myself get stronger and stronger, and I couldn’t be more grateful!

The Alameda location is my home gym. I love going in and being told, "Have a good workout". The staff are really helpful and always willing to answer any questions I've had. It is a small gym, but that works for me. I'm a newbie to the gym life, so it's definitely a plus. I've never had an issue with seeing frozen channels, or rude staff. I LOVE having the option of working out in the Women's Center. Great gym with a really laid back vibe!

Alameda location has a great neighborhood gym feel. The staff really seems to enjoy their job and it's great to see the same faces everyday. The cleaning crew always has the gym looking and smelling clean and cleaning stations well stocked. Very rare to see broken down equipment. If equipment is down, its because it just happened and it is usually fixed by the next day!

I love being able to go here and work out. They got a lot of machines, plenty of room space, water fountain. And the energy drinks powder shakes egal town. With a restaurant, they got a massage chairs. And they also have a like backmassage arrest. That's have tanning that traitors. Better than train you that give you one lesson for free and you can see if you want to trade it in or not. I had a great experience. I steadily go here now, and I'm still getting my work out on great place. I'm had it recommended. You didn't shake, get fit.

This place really came in clutch this weekend. As a traveling businessman the amenities offered at this location were extremely beneficial to my immediate needs.

I took advantage of the free trial membership offered at this location, and quite possibly the other locations that freedom fitness as I’m guessing nationwide. Upon entering the gym, I noticed that they had more than adequate amounts of workout equipment and just the right amount of extras to be sold to supplement the workouts. There were two staff members that quickly helped me and made recommendations to the amenities that they felt would facilitate my needs, I have to say I give kudos to the female staff member, whom I assumed was a manager by her strong demeanor, but was a tenured employee. Danette quickly and accurately recommended the pressure massage chair that I would soon use after the shower that I needed upon returning from a coastal fishing trip.

The water pressure in the showers was immaculate as well as the temperature of the water. Oddly since I like to take cold showers, I wish the water would’ve been a little more cold, but since it is the middle of the summer, I can only imagine that the water storage around town is quite possibly boiling due to the high south Texas temperatures that we’ve been experiencing this year.

After a three hour wade in treacherous water, followed by a quick dip into the cold salty waters at mustang island beach you could imagine that I was extremely fatigued. I decided to utilize the handicap facilitated shower to give me a little bit extra rest, and like Winston, Churchill says, “why stand when you can sit” in regards to bathing versus showering. The showers were not very packed. Even though they were only two available, and the Weeknd crowd seemed very thin—to my advantage. After a long and rigorous shower, then set to air dry for a moment on a wooden bench that was just outside of the shower room area.

The locker room was well equipped with adequate facilities for taking care of one’s personal hygiene, etc.. There are two showers, two sinks, and one giant countertop, as well as a separate room with lockers in there with a long bench in between the lockers I did not notice if they had luxe, but like many other gyms, I am sure that they have the hardware to bring your own.

On to the massage part of the review, I then inquired about the massage and requested the charming and witty Danette to assist me with the massage chair that she recommended to me. Unfortunately, she was on break, but another young man was able to assist me. After initiating the start process of the massage chair, or utilize the three minutes that it gives you before the start to wipe down the chair with the sanitary wipes that were conveniently located close by after cleaning off the chair from a very minimal amount of debris, I then started the massage with lasted over 10 minutes. I was able to customize the massage to my liking and after 10 minutes and a few more relaxing afterwards I took about a minute nap accidentally and then felt extremely rejuvenated.

I hope to return soon someday to take advantage of the workout equipment that is located here at this convenient location in West Corpus Christi.

Upon further consideration, and the revision of my review, I have decided to give this location of Freedom Fitness a rare (for me) five star review.

Kudos to the Saturday staff and the management at this location and I can only hope that other locations can meet the high standards that this location here on Alameda I have created in my mind. They have definitely set a very high standard, and even a benchmark from which I will now Judge every gym that I consider using in the future.

I was a long term member for many years and recently I had issues with my billing and they handled the whole situation terribly! The GM at the SPID location was so unprofessional and rude! I’ve always enjoyed going to freedom fitness, after not going for a long time, once I returned I noticed a lot of equipment is out of order, timers not working on some of the equipment and out of order signs we’re not put on broken equipment. You can only freeze your account for medical or military reasons. The stupidest and most unfair reason I have ever heard in my life. I'm a subscriber to great customer service starting with how staff answer the phones. I called this gym to inquire about membership and localities. I was met with rudeness and impatience. I didn't have more than 3 questions but was treated like I was a nuisance. I usually workout during the morning before lunch and it's not as busy as it is later during the day. The equipment is always clean and the staff are always there ready to help. There have been a few times when a machine or two was out of order but that's due to the Gym Jocks that slam the weights or misuse the equipment. YMCA was costing me $40 monthly. Freedom Fitness $10 monthly. I drive 1.9 miles instead of 4 blocks. Giving it a try. Ernie signed me up.. Simple sign up procedure.. You get a card to use in electronic checking. A huge place with every machine imaginable. Nice locker room. Separate exercise room for ladies if you so choose. Not crowded at 9-11 am and mostly young folks, but I met 2 senior ladies in my general age range. I had a great workout on treadmill, rowing machine, free weights, leg press.

This is my favorite place to come to when I'm visiting CC. The staff is always friendly and constantly cleaning, like non-stop. The members are pleasant as well, mostly seniors, so everyone puts their weights back and wipes the equipment down behind them. This is a pretty good gym, especially considering the price. The floors and the equipment are always clean, which is very important for a gym in my opinion. The staff are friendly and almost always say "Have a good workout" when you enter.
This isn't a very big gym, but they've packed it with pretty much every machine one could possibly need. They have plenty of treadmills and ellipticals, ab machines, and even a good amount of free weights. They also have a dedicated, closed off area for women only.
Unfortunately, because they have so many machines, they don't really have a good space for doing calisthenics or stretching or doing an ab workout on the floor.

There were two employees working on the night I came in, one man and one girl.
The girl wore her mask down around her chin for the entire time, not covering her nose or her mouth. Management needs to educate its employees about proper mask wear.
Otherwise, patrons are not safe. If this doesn’t change, I’m going elsewhere.

I'll start by saying, they keep the gym spotless. Cleaning staff is always on top of things it's a huge plus & big relief knowing they take the sanitation very seriously. The staff is very friendly, they address you by name & make it seem very welcoming. I've talked to staff about a number of things as they are very easy to get a long with.

I will say though, if I had any gripes, it's only 2. My only isues are that, I wish there was an area to deadlift & sqaut. I'm not fond of using the smith machine. It would be nice to see that & possibly the Olympic plates that the other locations offer. Secondly & my last gripe, is the music. I know everyone brings headphones but I sometimes find them to be distracting. Although the music isn't by definiton the Worst... & I understand a Playlist set by the people in charge, would I be that bad to include a little more rock music?

That being said, those are the only 2 gripes I have concerning the gym. I still think it's a great gym, with an incredible staff. I just wouldn't mind seeing those changes.

I just cancelled the membership with this gym.
So what happened is I called to freeze my 2 accounts (for me and my husband) and the employee on the phone said OKAY no problem,... your accounts are freezed. Due to bad experience with gyms, I came in person to make sure if its freezed because I just got charged for July2020. And guess what, it WAS NOT. So another front desk employee helped me out. And when I asked why it WAS NOT freezed and can I have refund for July???? He said NO. But he said he freezed it and its good for 2 months. So I thought okay. Its just $21...Fast forward to last week, I got charge for September. Its NOT 2 months. They only skipped charges on August!!!!! Tell me if I’m wrong.....Plus its covid19, We try to avoid crowded areas. Def dont want all that germs. Peloton is way better than gym membership. No need to dealing with people/service/....
