Not transparent with communication PRIOR to class closures - no emails nor signs on the door; with the recent pandemic, there were ongoing issues with technology, more class cancellations, limited schedules and class sizes - my child have NOT attended nor have lessons in 3 months, yet she wants to charge over $400 b/c they are so dependent on the tuition they are willing to rob others of their money even though it was not EARNED. They do NOT live up to the tenets being taught. Very disappointing to my 5 year old!

Ms. Jimenez is an amazing instructor. Both of my kids love her so much. I really appreciate all of the hard work she has done to keep some normalcy in my kids lives. I have been so impressed the way she persevered through this tough time for everyone. I’m excited to get back to regular classes for the kids again when it’s safe. To you and your instructors, thank you for being such a great role model for my kids.

We love Frisco Taekwondo America! Their online program has kept my child active and engaged during this trying time of COVID-19. I tried several martial arts places before deciding where I wanted my kids to learn self-defense. I chose LACY’s Taekwondo because I loved their teaching methods. From the first class I noticed how good their instructors were at keeping a balance with their kids lessons. They keep things fun and make every student work hard to reach their potential. Every class is different and provides challenges for every level. Their instructors are not only engaging but also, energetic, fun, respectful and are very, very good with names.

When your child is ready for sparring, it is done in small groups and supervised closely to make sure that kicks and punches are more precise and controlled rather than strong.

I love the idea that students can become instructors if they wish so in the future once they have reached their black belt. The idea that your teenager kids can experience leadership and great sense of responsibility towards others, gave me something to think about for my daughter’ s future.

Lacy’s TKD does not require you to sign a contract. You pay on a monthly basis so if you are there it is because you want to be there, not because you are locked into a contract.
This place provides a very positive environment. We are very happy with it and we are glad to see how much our kids enjoy it.

Me and my three kids were looking for an activity that we could do together. A friend recommended Lacy's!! They have family lessons as well as teens/adults lessons, which really helps when we have schedule conflicts.

What I value is that the staff at Lacy's instill discipline, but at the same time having fun. This is not a place where you turn up to enough lessons, you will get your next belt - you have to EARN it!

In summary a great place to learn Taekwondo, increase your fitness, stamina and have fun!!

Our family has 3 children and 1 adult taking classes at Lacy's TKD and we highly recommend it! Classes are energetic and fun so there is never boredom; and working on strength, conditioning, flexibility and technique leaves you exhausted but feeling great.

Mr. Lacy's experience is valuable and his teaching techniques give the student a better understanding of the purpose behind every move. All the instructors are great and exemplify the integrity Mr. Lacy exhibits. Every student is given an opportunity to progress at their own speed, and with personal attention and encouragement to push their limits and always accomplish more.

Not only are we all stronger, better balanced and focused, but everyone loves going to class and can't wait for each test cycle.

And lastly, it's great for kids to know how to defend themselves, even if they never need to. But especially if they do.

Lacy's Elite Taekwondo is an excellent martial arts school. The owner, Mr. Lacy, is extremely knowledgeable, personable, and his teaching style appeals to kids, teens, and adults. Our family of 4 have been taking classes there for over a year and it is awesome. The family classes allow me to take taekwondo with my kids and the adult classes give me a chance to workout without my kids. The teen and adult instructors take time to get to know the students and help them each to do taekwondo to the best of his or her ability. I highly recommend this taekwondo school!

Lacy's TKD school was the best one we found after looking at several different ones in the area. We moved from Plano and needed a new karate school closer to home and trialed 4 different schools until we found Mr. Lacy's. My son was in 3rd grade at the time and going through a rough time at home with his Dad finishing up chemotherapy and my son starting a new school. All of the instructors at taekwondo were great at incorporating my son's knowledge from his other training and helping him learn the new things.
It's going on four years that my son has been going to Lacy's and I can't think of a better place for him. He has learned that the best things in life are earned and are sometimes hard fought for. Our TKD family has seen him through some tough times but they have always been there cheering him on. Mr. Lacy is a very good teacher and he knows just how hard to push the students. It's a very good place to learn.

Pros: the schedule and the facility, specifically where the training takes place, prompt refund when they remove your child because answering parents questions becomes problematic.

Cons: There is one very small private office that is for business purposes. 2 people familiar with each other would fit in there, but it's a one person space. If you ever find yourself in a position to need to speak privately with a instructor be prepared to do it over the phone or online. In the case of needing to handle something immediately, you do so in full earshot of the lobby and training area. Asking what lead up to your six yr old getting sat out for 20 minutes gets glossed over and when pushed on the matter it gets your kid kicked out.

Overall this a great school for kids with innate maturity and self control, they'll learn a lot. If they need to work on those things, or have add/adhd and no exposure to organized sports or martial arts yet, I would go somewhere with a private office and with stated experience with the needs of those children; and also of their parents who may need to know the details of behaviors for their doctors. After being here from July to October with no real communication yet son moving up in belts, the dismissal says to me that they aren't looking deeper than training the forms and some kids need to concentrate on the self control, respect, and general citizenship aspects people think of when they think of martial arts. That requires discipline, and discipline requires speaking to the parents, a chain that fell apart here in mine and my sons experience.

Lacy's TKD is an excellent martial arts school where both adults and kids can learn the meaning of commitment and discipline in a structured and yet fun environment. They provide an excellent work-out that is both challenging and rewarding for mental and physical health. It is "old school" where kids actually have to do well to achieve the next level and not just get an award for effort. The sense of pride and satisfaction the kids feel when they pass a test, or do well in a tournament is a great learning experience and as a parent it is awesome to watch their sense of pride and self-confidence grow with each level they earn. I can't recommend this school enough as a place where an adult or child can get in shape, enjoy the experience and grow in strength and self-confidence as their journey progresses.

By far the best decision I've made in a long time!!! Lacy's Elite Taekwondo is top of the line. Better than any gym! Mr. & Mrs. Lacy not only push you to do your best, they help built your confidence regardless of your pace or age. I've not been this motivated in 15 yrs. And don't think you're too old! I've started my journey at 41 and don't plan on letting up anytime soon. Great classes, flexible schedule, just a top notch Taekwondo School. I would recommend it 100% to anyone. It's a blast and even better for the kiddos.

Both my daughters have been taking classes at Lacy's Elite Taekwondo and they love it!!!! They have both learned self defense, respect, and gained self confidence. All the instructors are highly qualified and very patient with their students whether they are 5 or 50. Come try out the class - it's never too late to learn Taekwondo!!!
