The weightlifting coach Tyler is great, very knowledgeable and has good energy. There is a great variety of strength training equipment to meet your fitness goals. The vibe there is great. Only gym I've been to where I wasn't made to feel uncomfortable by either the staff or the members.

Great atmosphere. great gym for powerlifting, has top line bars. Doesnβt have a ton of machines but thatβs to be expected with a powerlifting focus.
would be 5 stars but the gym lacks mirrors, would help a ton to have mirrors to help with form.

Liberation is the very best place. The first time I walked in, I knew I would come back, even though itβs an hour drive for me. The people make it all worth it. Itβs like coming home - itβs family. Itβs people who are friendly, but really truly that way, not on the surface. Itβs the best coaches, who understand not just coaching as how to get you stronger, but how to make your life more full. Itβs welcoming and inclusive of everyone, but more than that, itβs valuing everyone in their individual beautiful selves that sets Liberation apart. You canβt possibly find a better, kinder, place filled with the strongest people ever. πππ

This is the only place to lift in Austin! The crew is amazing! Think of the cast of Shameless but everyone lifts heavy items and just has fun! The members of the gym are just the most friendliest people! Always ready to help and guide you. 11/10 for sure!

Great space, the staff and other members were super kind and inclusive, and the facilities had all sorts of machines and tools to do any weightlifting you could need. Would recommend!

It's funny, I saw a Reddit thread which referred to LBC as a "hardcore" powerlifting gym. I mean, it is, but it's also full of warmth, welcoming, and of course, GAINS! You're going to find lifters of all levels and walks of life at this gym. Dentists, Marine and Army Vets, Yoga Instructors, Professors, Stay at Home Parents, Equity Analysts, Dog Walkers, Rodeo Clowns (OK, maybe not the last one, that I know of)--they all train at LBC. The people make this gym extraordinary, but if that's not enough for you, there is amazing equipment. As an older, heavier female lifter I've yet to feel uncomfortable or in any way out of place at this gym. It's a special place which has found a special place in my heart.

Pros: Great gym. Everyone racks their weights and cleans up after themselves.
Cons: Only issue Iβve had is that most the time, whoever is on aux and has control of the speaker plays music so loud that itβs like listening to two songs at once lol.
Invest in noise cancelling headphones if you want to avoid that. And most of the time everyone else in the gym is wearing headphones and one person is on the speaker⦠definitely makes it a bit difficult to workout and focus sometimes.

Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, not just the people who work there but the people who train there too. Itβs like everyone understands youβre on your own journey with your own goals and they respect it and support it and they are there to hype you up when you need it. Itβs the best place to get stronger in every kind of way.

Liberation Barbell Club has every piece of equipment you need for serious powerlifting, weightlifting, and strongman training. Covid precautions are also taken seriously here, including keeping overhead doors open whenever possible for air circulation and enforcing mask requirements and capacity limits, which makes me feel comfortable training there. Additionally, the classes are good and taught by skilled coaches. The best part of LBC, however, is the community feeling. This is a small gym where folks get to know and support each other. Don't know how to use something? Just ask and someone will be happy to teach you.

I recently dropped in here at LOVED it. Laurie was extremely responsive and welcoming. They also had three beautiful platforms for weightlifting complete with kg plates, jerk blocks, and squat racks.
They also had dogs to cuddle between sets!!

A safe and comfortable home for all you friendly meat-heads. But honestly, this place is the most welcoming gym in the city: whether your a seasoned lifter who wants to lift in peace or a newbie finally committing, this place is for you. Open to people from all walks of life, the only criteria is respect and the willingness to push.

Ever walk into a gym and feel completely accepted and welcome??? Likely not, but that is exactly how youβll feel at Liberation. Not only do they have amazing equipment and a great layout but the people are what truly set this gym apart from the rest. Strongman? They have what you need. As for Powerlifters, and other strength athletes as well. Go check it out you wonβt regret it.
