4 stars because it’s a clean facility with mostly good energy, but this is the only gym I’ve ever been to where the front desk staff does not greet their members or tell them to have a good day when they’re leaving. It’s such a simple gesture that goes a long way, especially with member retention.

Honestly this gym is just perfect. For the amount of people that frequent this gym even at 5pm there’s enough equipment. I came from Lifetime where I was always waiting on equipment. This golds is cleaner and easier to get in and out of. Thanks guys

I called to see if they have a Silver Sneakers aerobics class like the Wm Cannon location. They do not have aerobics, and their weekly schedule for seniors is unpredictable, according to the manager it's up to the instructors' discretion what will be taught. I recommend that you drive a little further for a structured seniors class plan at Gold's at Wm Cannon....aerobics on M W F, and Yoga on Tuesday..

If your 30 day cancelation period falls in your yearly renewal period they will make you pay your annual fee anyway even if you are not doing to use your membership anymore. They won’t take your calls at corporate they only correspond via email. Be careful!

Limited bikes for fitness, older cardio equipment, most machines make an abnormal sounds when in use.
Edit: I’ve edited this review multiple times. Every edit I’ve made I’ve tried to weigh the potential impact on the proprietor of this gym vs. market value.
It’s simply not a good gym. If you want towel service to pay an extra $10 for a towel that is legitimately the oldest scratchiest most disgusting towel that could exist. It’s clean, but there’s hardly any fabric left to it.
The staff are fairly decent, particularly Patti, but the personal trainers are some of the most sour people I’ve come across.
The reason why I give this one star is because you can get the same amount of service from a crunch gym, planet, fitness, or any other $10 gym.
I’ve been a member on and off for the last 3 to 4 years, and in that time they still haven’t fixed the hot tub, which remains to be broken and completely unusable.
If I were gold’s gym, and this was a franchise, I’d revoke ownership from these owners and get this gym back on track. The only reason why I’m still a member is because it’s the most convenient gym to get to, but if I had a planet fitness or crunch, I wouldn’t even look back.

I caught somebody taking video of themself topless while I was getting undressed violation of Texas Penal Code 21:15. I got an associate to come back there, and a guy totally denied it. When will you idiots realize verbal warnings never work. I was coercive to write out a witness report, and nothing was done afterwards. I will call the police the next time this happens. You absolutely do not care about members safety and right to privacy in a locker room

I’m honestly shocked by how unprofessional and careless Gold’s Gym Belterra has handled my case.
My account was incorrectly registered under a completely different name instead of my real name. I pointed this out multiple times in person. They promised to fix it. They never did.
Then, due to a failed payment (because of international banking and conversion issues), instead of resolving the issue with me they unlawfully charged my friend’s credit card $150 without his consent. That’s not a billing mistake that’s fraud.
We never authorized shared billing. We never gave permission for one card to cover both memberships. It was their system failure, their mistake, and we paid for it.
I sent multiple emails. I even came to the gym in person. What did I get? Silence. Ignorance.
I eventually had to formally cancel my membership in writing before the next billing cycle, and even that was ignored. They tried to charge me again days later.
To this day, they have never refunded my friend.
They never confirmed my cancellation.
And they never fixed the account errors that caused all this.
At this point, I was forced to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to even get a basic reaction.
I’ve never dealt with a gym that treated customers with this level of disregard.
Gold’s Gym Belterra needs to understand:
This wasn’t a “misunderstanding.” This was system failure + bad communication + unauthorized billing = real financial damage.
If they take responsibility and correct the situation, I will update this review accordingly.
But until then, I strongly recommend anyone thinking about joining to double check every single detail or be prepared to fight for your refund like I did

We attempted to cancel our membership over the phone, in person, in writing, received a confirmation email and have even filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office — and you’re STILL attempting to bill us.
At this point I suspect Golds entire business model is signing up people, particularly senior citizens who don’t regularly check their bank transactions and defrauding them by continuing to bill after they have cancelled.

I no longer feel safe or welcomed at Gold's Gym due to the current management. It seems that the general manager, Mandy shows a clear preference for men, which creates an uncomfortable and unwelcoming environment for others.
Be careful Mandy will simply brush you off she doesn’t care about her employees or the members. Wait she picks and chooses what employees she likes.
This golds gym needs new management.
I’ll be making sure Cary Causey sees this as he is the regional manager.

I hadn’t done any type of exercise in years. As a 60 something year old, I was nervous that I would injure myself. After I joined, they gave me one free trainer session. That was a year ago, and CHARISH CORDAWAY is amazing! I have been going to her once a week since then, She takes into consideration what I am nervous about, and yet has a gentle way of encouraging me to push a little more than I would all by myself. I won’t ever be a 6 pack gal, but I’m much stronger and my body feels so much better! I owe it to CHARISH! And by the way, we laugh the whole time! Love you CHARISH.

I tried to cancel a membership with Gold’s and was told I had to go in to a facility to close my account. So I did. I went in explained that I wanted to cancel my membership. The looked up my account and came up with a total that I needed to pay so I payed it on the spot. I have received non stop calls and texts from them. This is a horrible way to run a business. I am not happy and would not recommend Gold’s gym.

I have a gym at my new job, and chose to cancel my membership with Gold's Gym. Their website stated I could cancel via email, and so I sent an email May 30th requesting to end my membership. I got an email a few days later stating that I would still be billed for the next month (on 6/24) and would have my membership end 7/24. July I see a pending charge from Gold's, and I immediately call Gold's to find out what happened. The man I spoke with at my local location said the manager was the only person who could confirm my cancellation, they were only there during normal business hours (this was a weekend). I get a voicemail from the manager on Monday stating they see I have cancelled my membership, and nothing should be charging. The charge posts to my account. At this point, I go to my bank and dispute the charge, and they reverse it. Now I am getting calls and emails from Gold's telling me there was an issue with my card, and to give new payment information to continue my account! What?! I called the payment line they sent me, and asked to have my card information deleted from their system. The gentleman told me he would have to redirect me to someone else for this to happen, and that someone was a voicemail box.
I absolutely cannot trust that they won't charge me again in a month, and though I had initially thought of reinstating my membership once I had better finances, I know now it is a lifetime commitment.

I’m not a gym person, but I made the decision to start working out in order to be healthier and become a better version of myself. The front desk staff is super friendly - shout out to Mason, the gym is always clean, and my personal trainer Collin Fleming is the best!!! He listened to my mainly concerns and goals and came up with a great exercise plan. It’s been only two weeks and I already can tell a difference- specially on my energy level. Also, the gym hours works great for my schedule as well. Joining Gold’s Gym belterra and booking sessions with Collin Fleming were the best decision I made so far.

I have been working out with Collin Fleming for 2 weeks now. The gym is clean, Collin Fleming has been phenomenal. He has made starting an exercise routine after several years of not taking care of myself a fun morning routine. It's very crowded in the evening... they need more Hammer Strength and adjustable cable machines. Unfortunately, it's the only gym in the vicinity and the setup is less than optimal for the typical Golds Gym weight lifter oriented folks.
On the up side, the staff are friendly and most of the people working out there are friendly as well. When a piece of equipment is out of commission, they seem to get it fixed pretty quickly.

For being the only gym nearby, this location has all of the equipment you would need for any variety of workouts unless you are really particular about what equipment you want (I.e. they could maybe use another deltoid/peck fly machine and a few more hammer machines but that’s it). It’s generally busy but not so busy that you have to wait very long for machines to open up. The staff here are very friendly, which is not always at the case when you go to the gym, and it’s very clean! Overall a great facility!

Sorry but I am very upset. I called in advance to see if I could bring my niece to workout as I am a member and so is my mom. I stated her age - 14 - and asked If I could get a day pass and they said yes. I drove all the way here and the person who was here said they couldn’t and I said someone on the phone said we could. The woman on the phone was there and apologized for being wrong but she should have asked if she didn’t know. Because now I wasted all of my time to come all the way here when I pre-called just to know. In addition, I asked for many alternatives to try to get her to come - my mom calling to add her to her membership etc and they just said no. Again, I get WHY they said no that’s not the issue. It’s my wasted time and effort to come all the way here when I purposefully asked in advance so I would NOT waste any time.

Biggest scam I’ve ever experienced in my life.
I went in there because their website says you can cancel any time. That’s a lie.
I signed up to use their gym one month and even confirmed with the employees I could cancel and use it only a month. They said yes.
I go in the gym to cancel, sign the papers, and two months later they are still charging my card for and sending me decline fees!
I’ve cancelled two months ago and almost every other day I’m getting emails and voicemails about my overdue balance. I’ve called multiple times to tell them I’ve already cancelled and to take care of it.
Something is not clicking for these people.
The manager said they have a right to bill me after I cancel my membership. What?!
Don’t believe the lie that this is a cancel anytime gym. Even after they have paper documentation you’ve cancelled they will continue to call and harass you for a service you haven’t used for months.
This is the most unethical business transaction I’ve experienced!! Crazy!!!

This is my favorite gym. It's always clean, and equipment is maintained very well. There's a lot of space so you don't feel like it's jam-packed with people despite them being pretty busy. The manager (Mike I believe) is a stand-up guy. Will always greet you with a wave and a smile.

I was a member in good standing - averaging 3 personal trainings a week. I contracted a serious respiratory virus (NOT COVID). My physician said Gold's was too dangerous - unmasked and unvaccinated staff and members. She said that for the foreseeable future, it was too dangerous for me to go the the gym. I called and asked management to call me back. No return call. I texted my trainer who said she did not know how I could cancel my membership. Finally, I called the front desk and was given an email address. I emailed and requested cancellation They emailed back and said I needed a physician note to cancel my membership and would not receive the $720 in training sessions refunded. This is reprehensible. For a so-called fitness center to not care about the health of their members and only care about their fees is incomprehensible. Be warned - this gym is not a health environment.

First and foremost, this gym is more expensive because they label it as a tier 2 gym. There is literally nothing special about this gym. No cardio cinema. No pool. They use the tier 2 ploy to make you switch to their gym draft. As a golds gym member in the past I’ve worked out at amazing golds gyms with steam rooms, pools, cardio cinemas, massive buildings with all the equipment you could ever want and this building is NOT it! The only reason I became a member here was convenience. That all being said. If you have choices when choosing a gym, I would look around.
The rest of my review is in regards to golds gyms sleazy tactics. This gym has ZERO INTEGRITY. I was a patron of the belterra location. While other business are working with people during the pandemic this gym is trying to scrounge as much money as possible. They only have 3 month windows for freezes and instead of fixing that during the pandemic if it falls out of a freeze they charge you and don’t refund you. Past that since golds has now switched to year long contracts (yes, also unappealing) when you hit the year mark regardless of the fact that you haven’t used the gym in one year and your account is frozen they still charge you the 50+ yearly fee. I was charged the 50+ fee for literally nothing at all.
Just to summarize and relay how ridiculous this is, I signed up a year ago which cost money. I used the gym maybe twice. The pandemic then hit. I stopped using the gym but kept my account frozen. We hit one year without any use at all and I had to pay 50+ and $100 to cancel. All together I paid $250-$300 to use a gym twice. I’m also a member of Lifetime fitness and have had no hiccups at all. Long freezes. Cancel when I want with no fee. No contracts that lock you in. No yearly fee during a pandemic. It’s sad to see golds gym doing business in a money over customer way. I’ve been with them for probably over 10+ years.
It’s one thing to have these sleazy tactics in normal life but it’s absolutely disgusting to pull these tactics in a pandemic when people have health concerns as well as many with financial struggles. This clearly isn’t an establishment that has a humanitarian or community first approach, which is why it’s so easy to never be a patron of this establishment again. They can keep my $300 and never receive any other monthly dues from me again.

Absolutely love this gym!! Been to lots of gyms and this is by far one of my favorites! I used to workout at Barton Creek Country Club and this gym has the same workout machines, but they’re newer, so I love it here. The only thing that I would prefer is nicer restrooms, but these are super nice so I can’t complain. Wish they would open the sauna! Thank you Gold’s team for everything y’all do! Love working out here!!

I tried to sign up for 1 month when I’m back home from college. It’s a huge hassle trying to cancel the membership and nobody will give a straight answer. Ended up having to pay for 3+ months due to them not letting me cancel even though I told them when I signed up I only wanted 1 month and wanted to cancel my membership after that. Not worth the problematic cancellation and lack of management.

Don't join. If you ever want to cancel, you will regret it. I put a freeze on my account when Covid started. They charged my card anyway. I spent a LOT of time on hold, talking to various people before I was refunded. They said - if you want to cancel, just notify us with 30 days. I notified them. They KEPT charging me card. I only noticed because my credit card provider listed them as a vendor on auto-pay when I lost my card and requested a new one. My account was frozen and then notified for cancellation but they are not crediting back a month of payment sighting contract terms. This was after 37 minutes on hold and 20 minutes of conversations. Don't waste your time with gym. They have no integrity.

Force people to wear masks even though they are completely healthy, lied about the Code Of Conduct and insulted me when I corrected the managers of their errors. They have no commitment to personal freedom and will force you to adhere, or like a dirty peasant you will be removed. Never spending money here again!!

The jacuzzi is amazing, and I love that it’s in the girls locker room. The staff has always been friendly. Everything is new so super up-to-date and clean- the showers are hot - the equipment is high-end and fancy ... it always smells good and the music is never too loud. I hardly ever see equipment out of order,and the other gym attendees are normal and respectful. :)

Was told my Billing was the 12th by Front Desk and turns out its the 10th. Submitted my cancellation half a day late. Being forced to pay an additional month unwanted and they wouldn't do the right thing. Don't join. Was signed on an enhanced access gym membership "accidentally", never corrected.

Worst customer service ever. I went up for a class but found out that it required an extra fee. There is no designation on the website indicating that you have to pay extra money to go to certain classes. I pointed this out to the fellow at the counter. I also told him that I was having trouble logging in to my membership on my phone and he said it was because Verizon doesn't work very well in that building. But when I told him that I also had trouble at home logging in he said I was harassing him. So I won't harass him any longer. And not going to that gym anymore and I am dropping my membership. I am very disappointed

I joined the Belterra Golds a little over a year ago, Im 49 and have never worked out in my life, I got with Levi Payer their personal trainer, and in 6 short months he completely transformed my physique, he has a special way of making the work out very enjoyable and productive, i never felt intimidated, or insecure because of his down-to-earth personality, its been a life changing experience

This gym is great, new, good equipment, it would get 5 stars from me EXCEPT for the way they have set it up to have tiered memberships so I have to pay MORE to my fav class, SPIN. SO, I have to drive to Bee Cave location to get my spin classes. Just makes no sense. Otherwise, I do take the body pump and sculpt class at DS location and the instructors are really good, especially Erin, Lisa, Megan and Gaby.

I can’t even use the facility unless I pay at least $10 more a month... not worth it... I can get the same work out done at the Bee Cave location. Belterra doesn’t even have a pool, racket courts, spa/sauna, etc. why do they charge more, and don’t give me B.S. about higher operating cost!! I can use other locations in the heart of Silicon Valley CA that allows my current membership. The guy told me they charge extra for towel service!!! Hell I’ll bring my own towel for $10 a month.

Pretty disappointed this golds gym has set itself a part from the others and won’t let even long time golds gym members workout without an “upgrade”. I work and drive all over Austin and I am a golds gym member because of all the locations. I drive by this location a lot and had hoped to go here after taking care of patients in the area, but I guess I’ll just have to head to another golds.

I have been a member for about 8 years and when I visited this new site, I had no problems with being able to work out without having to upgrade my membership.
With it being brand new, the facilities is nice, I just hope they will be able to keep everything clean and in working order.
There are wipes throughout the gym so you can conveniently wipe down the equipment before and after use without having to fuss with spray bottles.
The kids club is nice and I like that they don't have tv screens or computers. There are toys for imaginative play, board games, as well as soccer goals and basketball hoops. When I picked up my kids, they were as sweaty as I was.
There's also a hot tub/spa right next to a sauna.
I'm looking forward to making this my primary gym to work out.
Updated Post: Someone finally talked to me about having to upgrade my membership in order to work out at this gym. With my original membership I've been grandfathered to receive free childcare and my rate is locked. However at Belterra, they are asking me to pay the same rate as if I just joined as a new member. I decided not to upgrade my membership and will continue to work out at the same Gold's that I've been going to for the past 9 years.

The staff is great the locker room and the bathroom is always clean the equipments is not bad but its not as good as the other Gold’s gyms that I’ve been before and you guys charge $50 a month and nothing to use in the gym except the body building equipments anf whats with early closing at Friday at 10 PM come on its FRIDAY EVERYBODY USUALY LEAVES WORK LATE IN FRIDAY and closing at 11 on work days too! For a branch that charge this much you CAN’T CLOSE THIS EARLY!

For a non-gym person, I really love this Gold’s Gym! New, nice and plentiful machines and weights. Have never had to wait on a treadmill, bike or bench. The staff is friendly, our trainer Victor is fantastic, and the amenities and cleanliness of the gym set it apart from other gyms. Also, the Gold’s app provides music and training that keeps me motivated.

I love having this gym in my neighborhood. It is very clean and has great hours .I didn't give it a 5 for a few reasons....first...they don't have a water bottle filler on the water fountain. I know it seems little, but with germs on the water fountain.....also, in most gyms, there is a trainer onstaff that can answer questions and help .At this gym, it seems that the trainers (which I love mine) is only there to train. They should have trainers there ready to help at all times .

Really solid gym! Super clean and never packed. I have seen a lot of negative reviews of people not being able to use the gym due to not having an "upgraded membership." I am not sure if this is just old news, but since this gym has opened I have never once had an issue. This is not my home gym but I usually go to it once a week or so and it is always great! They have a lot of hoist equipment which is something different than the other Golds around which I really like!

I'll continue to use Gold's wherever I can find them when I'm on the road but the individual I came across would receive additional training or be moved to a different department if I ran that facility. He was not a people person AT ALL and isn't helping your business.

The gym is pretty good but I have to say Josh is the best representative for this business!!! He was very clear about what the memberships included and did not include. He made recommendations based on my needs and due to his personal attention and positive attitude I highly recommend this gym.
I also see the manager cleaning along with others. That sends a positive message to me.

Nicest Golds Gym I've been too. I feel as though most golds gym's tend to be crammed with machines and typically rude individuals in the free weight areas who lean toward the unnatural side of the spectrum. This location though caters to the family oriented Belterra which is beautiful and clean and the gym reflects that. I make the drive out from Austin once or twice a week to use this facility.
