I have spent the last hour trying to correct my membership. A rep came up to me during my workout and told me that I would not be allowed to come back until I corrected my membership which I had no idea. There was any problem with it The Golds gym Copperas Cove does not ever answer their phone. I gave the rep at the desk my current member number in person she said it did not work. I talked to the manager. He told me I needed to get a new number. I called my membership silver & fit. They gave me the exact same number. I explained to the lady at Silver and fit that the manager told me that number did not work so she called Golds Gym and the manager told them that was not the number I gave them which was not true. I gave the rep the correct number she even wrote it down.
The manager told me my membership was canceled because I owed them money, which was another non-truth because my membership does not cost anything. Itβs just very hard to find good customer service.
Also, this gym shows online that it has a pool it does not itβs been closed for a couple years
And had they answered the phone I would not be writing this review

This gym has steadily declined from one of the best in Cove to one of the worst. It is also one of the most expensive, and there is no family plan. Full price to bring the teens over the summer. In the past year there is a new manager who arrived and has steadily turned Gold's from a high energy gym into an old person's home. They need to put walkers with tennis balls on the ad to attract the crowd he wants. And the GM hovers over the floor, I feel uncomfortable when he is there.

I signed a YEAR contract in DECEMBER 2023 which ended in JANUARY 2025 according to them and they are STILL pulling out my money!!!!!!! RIDICULOUS SCAM. I spoke with their customer service over the phone of course and they had the nerve to TALK OVER ME LIKE A CHILD! I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Never had a golds membership till we moved here, and I love this gym. It's spacious and not overcrowded with unnecessary machines. I wish they had another smith machine or a hip thrust machine! That would be super nice!! Plus, they have childcare, and it's a big room. It's always clean, and I've never had any issues with other members. Maybe only 1x bit it was from people who weren't regulars. Talking trash about what I was in the locker room, but I take it as 2 girls who are just insecure and jealous.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, cleanliness, it can be fast pace and crowded at times and other times it's not. The sauna is clean and nice, and locker rooms and bathrooms are clean, they use to have a pool and hot tub, but they took that away during covid.

Been here three years now but steady at it since 9-23. The place is always clean and the people are always so nice. From the community to the staff itβs a pleasant place to workout. Aside from lifting I do the spin class and the yoga class and theyβre amazing too. Down 30 pounds! Couldnβt have done it without them.

This gym sucks. It is too small and too crowded every time of the day. They really need to expand this building or open up a larger golds down the street. Just too many people and not enough space in here. You bump into people while trying to do your workouts. An embarrassment to the Golds brand.

I've been a member at Gold's for about 6 months. It's not the biggest gym, but they have a little bit of everything. I like that in the locker room, everything is separated into its own section instead of wide open, and it's always very, very clean. It does get packed frequently, but everyone has a good mindset, and people are helpful, so you can just work in or around without worry. They offer a lot of classes also and they are always helpful if you need it. Overall, I've had nothing but good experiences at this gym and will continue to conquer my goals there. They also have a pool that is closed and has been closed since COVID, which I'm hoping will eventually open back up!!

I tried canceling my membership in June over the phone, was advised I had to come in person (I was out of town at the moment) I came in person a few weeks later, spoke with the receptionist who canceled and she ensured no balance was owed. Shortly afterwards I started receiving calls and emails stating a balance was owed. I called spoke with another receptionist, explained the situation and was transferred to a manager. The manager took a payment for $32 and ensured he would wave any additional fees, due to misinformation from previous representatives. Weeks later I was still receiving calls, texts and emails stating a balance was owed. I called again (while at work) was transferred 10xs receiving the run around before someone finally was able to fix the problem. Bad communication/customer service all around...Good gym tho

I dont go to a gym a lot. The staff were extremely helpful and patient when I called with questions. They were also very friendly and helpful when I showed up at 6am. They gave me a free trial pass for the day and my experience was awesome from there. All of the equipment was clean and the facilities were also very clean. Will go back in the future for my work out needs.

The classes they offer are amazing, my favorite is body pump it really helps keep me in shape. they have a good amount of machines about 3 rows of treadmills, the employees are very friendly ,I have the basic membership which is 30$ a month, no contract , best gym in the area. Hands down.

I will never do business with golds gym in copperas cove again. Charged me after attempting to cancel my membership for over a year. Went to location physically, told to go pound sand and then even after that called, and was told to go pound sand. Then finally after almost a year got someone to tell me to send a written thing via their online site, to witch they claim they never received and of witch there is no record. Finally emailed them and said that due to me not sending them an email earlier they are keeping the full $300+ they had been charging me from 09/2021-12/2022 and charging me $157 on top since I finally had my bank cut them off. Only for them to tell me that they'll settle for $78, best they can do. Because the only record they have is my email in December.
I implore all military peeps to not do business with them either.

I try to work out every day if possible. I really like the atmosphere and equipment available. Iβm 74 years old and have had reconstructive heart surgery so Goldβs is exactly what I need. I would give 5 stars except for the two things I see consistently that are not my business to say anything about.
1. I see the same individuals not wiping down equipment they have been using.
2. I see several individuals that tie up 3-4 pieces of equipment at the same time. I find this to be rude and inconsiderate of others.
Thatβs it. Thanks if there is something management can do to enforce the rules.

The most outdated equipment ever especially the treadmills! they need to update there equipments for how much membership is. The pool has been closed since forever. There is very little squat racks, itβs clean but the hours of the gym is so terrible they should definitely change it. There is also barely any fitness classes compared to other gyms around the area. You can tell this gym is pretty old. I donβt recommend this gym but my insurance includes this membership so itβs free. Me personally I wouldnβt recommend getting it if I had a choice.

I've been telling them to cancel my membership for months since I'm not in the area, they said they couldn't cancel unless I go in to the gym and cancel, after almost a year of explaining that I am not able to physically go in to a facility and needed them to stop deducting from my account even though I haven't been active in 2 years... they finally agreed to cancel last month, burn now they're trying to withdraw money again and said I have to pay because there's a 30 day cancelation and it's only been 29 days so I owe another month for services I haven't used in 2 years!!! When I signed up for a gym membership, I was told unlimited guests, so I bring my wife and they told her she would have to pay $15 for the day. I told them I thought I had unlimited guests. She said I was allowed unlimited guests for one time only, what? So, I cancelled my membership. Thereβs other gyms out there. This was on April 12, 2022 at about 7:30 AM.

This gym is a nice a well equipped gym with a lot of equipment thatβs well maintained by a great staff. I highly recommend Michelle because she she has stellar customer service and has a hilarious sense of humor that keeps me and other customer motivated. Moreover, I think the only caveat hereβs Iβd say is that the indoor is closed, I know that would level up the competition even more against the adjacent gyms.

I was intimidated because its Golds gym and didnt know if I would feel comfortable in my body and all... the staff was polite and there was alot of people but I didn't get you don't belong vibes. After a few minutes I got into my zone and people started disappearing. I enjoyed it and look forward to more workouts.
The gym was also clean, restrooms clean and many sanitation areas to clean machines.
Only wish would be that stayed open late. But for now it works.

Love the gym. Just wish it was a tad bigger as it gets packed at times and majority of the equipment is maintained and sometimes it breaks down (of course it's to be expected) but it has every piece of equipment for a complete exercise routine. Sometimes you have to make due for what's available though. ) For $25 month you get full access to the gym equipment. Good price.

Before I joined, I had a preconceived idea of the type of people that joined a Gold's Gym. What I found out from my complimentary visit is that I was totally wrong. The members of this gym are from all walks of life, and courteous to each other. I thought it would be full of physically fit body builder types, and I was wrong. This gym has members ranging from young 20somethings to members in their 60's. Great environment, and fantastic staff. I recommend this gym if you are looking for a place to work out.

When I signed up for a membership with this particular Gold's I was told that I was not under contract and could cancel at any time. Fast forward a year and some change and I was no longer coming to this gym and wanting to cancel. I had left multiple letters and had asked for a manager to help. Problem is that they apparently were just throwing my letters away cause they continued to tell me I had not given them one. When I tried to get in contact with the manager I would be told he would be in at a certain time, then when I showed up at that time he was never there. After months of trying to do it their way I then had my bank stop accepting charges from them. My current state is that collections is calling me and wanting more than $300 to resolve this. I have filed a dispute and do not plan on paying when they have essentially stolen well over $600 from me. If anyone is reading this I suggest finding a friend with a home gym or going anywhere else. This gym is not worth a cent of what you will pay them and they will just rob you in the end.

I was told I would be on a trial and told to sign a βwaiverβ Incase something was to happen. I wasnβt given a copy or even allowed to read said waiver. I tried it out that one day. I decided this gym wasnβt for me and went in and canceled the following day. Fast forward 6 months I was contacted about 200+ dollars on my credit. When I contacted the GM he told me I am locked into a contract and I explained my situation to which he did not care at all. It is very unprofessional. I was lied to. I cancelled my membership last year! I tried via phone, but they wouldn't let me. I came in person to cancel and was told that I was not under any contract obligations. I AM DEPLOYED. Without my knowledge or permission they continued to charge me on an inactive credit card. After months of declined payment transactions, they continued to charge me for over six months anyway. This is your business plan? Keep charging fraudulently without permission? How is this legal - how is it not stealing? They sent my account to collections. And even if I paid it, it's now there as part of my credit history. I am still deployed and now I have to deal with this. Common sense says, you don't render services not paid. When a credit card transaction is declined, you don't keep trying to render services for several months. How you are still in business is beyond me. Stay very far away from this place. I filed a complaint with the BBB.

I once put a poor review because of one staff person. However, she has changed a lot for the better. I must first start off by saying that I am extremely impressed with the cleanliness of this gym. It is extremely difficult to keep a gym clean and pandemic made it worse.
The manager Paul has become a good friend that I can talk to at any given time. The staff has become more focused on the customer. Their are plenty of machines to choose from.
This is my home away from home.

They are really about money money. I attempted to cancel my membership to find out they have been charging my card on file that was cancel up to 4+ times a month charging $20 each time. I attempted to contact their corporate number since I have an autoimmune issue and a cancer survivor due toCovid-19. I stayed on the phone several times to wait almost an hour then the phone would hang up. I tried to call them locally and the phone would just ring and ring. I also left a message to not charge the card. I called again and they said I need to come in. I did to find out my account over $200 in late fees since they charged each and every attempt. I couldn't even suspend my account so I could atleast pay the balance without recurring monthly payments since I can't go. They told me I COULDN'T cancel or suspend my account. It will have to go to collections sadly as I now have to move. I have a gym membership with Planet Fitness also for reuglar workouts without the pool and they worked with me. Do not go here! Run!

This gym used to be amazing. The management has driven this location into the ground. It was changing before COVID, so you can't even blame it on that. The pool & hot tub is PERMANENTLY CLOSED, and they've told people it's reopening. Someone asked about downgrading their membership, and they were told they had to cancel their membership and do a whole new contract. Their Kid's Club hasn't reopened and there's no estimated date for that to happen. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they never reopened it. Gold's got bought out by a German company that wants to turn it into an old school, body builder gym, not the community gym this location has been. Some of their staff is super amazing, and I hope they find a better place to work, that values and appreciates them more.

When the the gym closed for the pandemic I was contacted via email. After that I never received an update. Right after this happened I had my Credit Card info stolen and subsequently cancelled my card and got a new card. Gold's Gym tried to charge my old card after no charges for two months. Then they started charging membership dues again. The payments were refused because the card was cancelled. Gold's Gym never contacted me via phone call or email to tell me the payments were being refused. Also they never emailed me or called with instructions about opening again or when payments would start again. I went back to the gym after a few months and updated my payment info. At the time no one told me I was behind on payments or anything about payments being refused from the other card. The next day I had three monthly payments taken from my card and two late fees taken as well. I spoke to them about the situation to no avail. I ask them to produce one email that informed me about refused payments or any information about when they would start charging again. No help, a third party collects their dues. They could not produce any email, letter or call information to show they attempted to contact me. No refund accept the late fees being waved. I quit the gym at the beginning of August and was informed that I still had to pay for September and the past dues for the months I did not go. Terrible, terrible customer service. I put in a dispute with my Bank and was refunded the payments they illegally took. My money was refunded, now I have received a letter from a collection agency for $178.52. I wouldn't go back to Gold's gym if they paid me, I'm at Crunch gym now and it is so, so much better. Better equipment and especially better customer service.

I signed up for golds gym and the location I signed up for went out of business and was bought by another gym. There was no option given to me to remain a member of golds and no one willing to work with me when I attempted to use another location (since I was βno longer a memberβ).
Donβt sign up for golds gym. Itβs a pathetic excuse of a company that could close their locations at any time. If they cared about their clients they would have allowed me to use their facilities until the contract I signed with them expired.
Ignore the fake smiles and play it safe somewhere else.

Very clean. Great staff, they're very helpful and always nice. Great selection of equipment. I like to do cardio and power lifting and they've got all my needs met. Pre Corona, they had a great pool.

Just signed up and visited for the first time today. The gentleman who signed me up yesterday was friendly, helpful, and well informed about memberships and policies. I signed up for access to the pool mostly. On my way to the pool I noticed the rest of the gym was very clean. The pool was great. It is only two lanes but at 8:30 on a Saturday morning there was no one else in it. Water was clear with just enough chlorine scent to let you know it was clean. Glad I decided to sign up and I look forward to my next work out.
