The manager Teresa is very rude , the gym is ok , I came with my dog and she has a big attitude and she is very rude and doesn’t know how communicate with people , she was so annoyed by my dog even though she knew the dog was service dog!
Again, the gym is ok to get your workout done but the manager is very rude , I hope I dnt get to see her again.

I love this gym but I do not appreciate the manager TERESA putting her hands to my face waving at me to get my attention while I'm picking up weight. She didn't introduce who she was so instead I thought it was some old lady talking down to me for using chalk and left me confused for a moment. She was really rude about the situation and could have handled it alot better with a decent approach. Next time I'll go to HR, no reason you need to put your hands to my face.

Horrible customer service. I dropped in to check out the facilities and see if I wanted to join here. The associate had me fill out a contact card, and when I told her my purpose—I wasn’t interested in paying for a day pass but just wanted to look around and find out if I wanted to join, she waved me on. I said, “that’s it” and she replied, “that’s it.” No effort whatsoever to introduce me to the gym or show me what they have to offer. So rude!

I get personal training done by Lacy E and she does a great job of explaining parts of the body of which we're working on. She is an expert trainer who knows how women want to sculpt their bodies. She is an inspiration for me and looking at her physique tells me she practices what she preaches. At a personal level, she is compassionate and wants the best for you. I like that she also provides nutrition guidance which is different other trainers! Great experience and guidance. I highly recommend Lacy E.

I go in to try out gym salesman is nice let’s me workout. I comeback next day to see if I can use gym a couple more days and tell them I want a cash deal for a year. Don’t want to pay monthly. My salesman’s not there. The visiting manager says no you want this special deal we have going. I said no I want to pay the 300 or 400 a year up front. No this is better she says. By this time I’m like fine let’s get this over with. A week later I’m sick have to go into the hospital they are blowing up my emails texts and bank account. I can’t cancel now because I owe them and the hospital stay and my illness wiped me out. My account is negative a couple hundred and they are going to keep charging me even though I haven’t been since early August. Thanks for pushing me into a deal I didn’t want and reminding me weekly GOLDS GYM SUCKS

Worst gym ever.
This gym was great when first signing up and now they took out the cardio room that had a Theater which was awesome because it would sidetrack you from doing cardio so it would so you get more done because you would be distracted.
Now the water is off and they never sent any emails to update their customers at all.
Their excuse was well we have signs as you walk in and I said that does me no good if I come to work out and then have to go to work I can’t because I can’t take a shower
but if you would’ve emailed me saying the water was turned off Then maybe I would have went to a different location and gave you the benefit of the doubt.
The staff is stuck up there when you ask a question they always seem to not care or just say well things happen.
Like really I know things happen but all you do is sit at the front desk and sign people in. You could at least send an email to update the customers about things that are going on at your location.
So we were their for 3 hours and the guy turned off the sinks, toilets, showers, and water fountains to drink water.
The A/C was broken as well. The front desk and manager said things happen.
I said well if things happen and you didn't notify the guess about it then that is on you.
You should have emailed the customers about the situation.
As well as the Gold's gym is the one in Uptown on McKinney Ave. And I live a block away and the manager said I could always go to the Richardson location!!!
I told the lady, "I live a BLOCK AWAY, Why would I drive 25/30 mins away?????

I am quitting this gym for unethical business practices.
I spent $75 on training sessions here, my trainer rescheduled on me 3 times within 24 hours. Because this isn't reflected in the records at Gold's Gym for some reason, the folks there don't believe that I was rescheduled on 3 times within 24 hours. After that I decided not to waste any more of my time with training sessions and asked for a refund but Gold's Gym does not provide refunds for unused training sessions. Instead of refunding me they just wanted to set me up with another training session, but why would I want to do that after having my time repeatedly wasted? This makes me feel like I'm being taken advantage of whenever I go to Gold's and so I decided to cancel my membership. I never got any of the 3 sessions I paid for, or a refund for them because it is "against the policy". How about failing to provide a service the customer has paid for? Is scamming customers Gold's Gym policy? What is so hard about refunding a customer for something they didn't get? And what about all of my wasted time? Seriously disappointed. When I asked about this at another Gold's Gym nearby that I also go to (I move between Addison and Downtown Dallas regularly) the fitness manager Mark Harris got me in touch with Shaun Jones who is apparently a higher up in Gold's Gym, but our e-mails to him were apparently completely disregarded. Even after a follow-up e-mail from me, no answer. Not even a "No, it's against our policy" e-mail. Man, it's not like I'm trying to steal money from Gold's Gym. All I want is a refund for what I didn't get. I don't think it's something to ignore a customer over.
It's been over a month since I cancelled my membership and just to top it off, Gold's Gym forces you to continue paying for an extra month after cancellation, and towel service if you paid for it as well, so I'm still being charged for that too. Apparently it takes an entire month to "process" your cancellation.
I've been to tons of gyms, and Gold's Gym was by far my worst experience ever. Feel totally scammed. If you're thinking about going here, do yourself a favor and find another gym.

Such a horrible place .. just this location, I used to workout in Austin area Golds Gym and most of them maintain their cleanliness standards.. this Gym is a very old building and whenever I get here and workout I turn out and return with breathing and other allergies. They have stains and molds everywhere. when talked to the manager ‘Teresa Conroy’ she again give me some lame answers like they are working on it .. and I have been seeing this issue in here more than a year ... most of this well established companies when they have a existing problem they don’t really care about what customers are saying since they got so many people on there system. I went ahead and canceled it , and they still wanna charge me for one more month.. if I run a business with a facility like this .. I will either fix it before even charging anyone 🤷🏻♂️!!

This is by far the best gym in Dallas! The equipment and staff is just so above and beyond anywhere else’s in the area.
A special shoutout to my trainer/life-coach Elizabeth Spence! She is one of the most knowledgeable and professional trainers in the area and I highly recommend anyone to request her!
I struggled with obesity and fibromyalgia for decades until I was able to make a complete body transformation after working with Elizabeth! Now my life has gotten exponentially better and is filled with love and joy I had never had before. If you are wanting to change your life for the better I recommend anyone to make an appointment with Lizzie ASAP!

I find this location slightly outdated on decor but remains a solid option for folks who are serious about getting into shape. I've been pretty loyal to this gym, for the simple reason it had everything you needed, was inexpensive, convenient and mostly clean. As of late it seems like a lot of the equipment is breaking down and management is not keeping up with it. There used to be plenty of resistance bands, now they are far and few between, the ropes are all shredded and left to be used as is, seems like more than half treadmills don't operate. Wishing these get corrected in the near future. I do love the gym and wish to stay a member here. Would still recommend just some maintenance issues

I was used to the amazing Gold's gym in Waxahachie and when I moved to Dallas I was shocked at the night and day difference in amenities and customer service. I went from having a ton of classes to choose from to limited time slots. I went from warm inviting faces to cold and negative people.
I only give three stars because my first day I walked in to try a class at this location, the guy at front desk was not warm and inviting. He basically told me I didn't fit in or look like I was from there. I will never forget that experience.
Please upgrade your Dallas location and recruite some Waxahachie people to train your staff.

I came in late from out of town and the young lady up front was quick to help me. The gym has everything you need to be successful in your fitness journey. It's in a nice part of town also. The locker room/rest room was clean, and the whole gym was surprisingly organized. Most of the Golds I've been to, and I've been to a lot, are extremely unorganized. I was charged after my year contract was up even after I called and was told I would not be charged anymore. If you ever need to talk to management or have any type of issues, good luck getting a hold of someone that can help. Phone calls are not returned and getting a hold of the manager, who is the only one that can stop the charges, is impossible if you can't be there in person. Make sure you cancel in person before you move cause you'll be out an extra couple months dues waiting on someone to return your phone calls.

It seems the best times to work out are early morning til 8 or 9 and mid day when everyone is at school or their 9-5 jobs. Depending on the day (holiday, weekend, a monday are usually busy).
I like all the variety of equipment for different muscle groups that you want to focus on. I havent tried the classes but they seem pretty energetic.

Gold's headquarters are in Dallas, yet this Gold's is one of the most basic I've been to. Good for the price (I get a discounted rate of $32/month), though unlike even the Gold's in my tiny podunk hometown on the East Coast there is no sauna or anything outside of a wide variety of free weights and machines (Though there is a good selection of those, and lots of treadmills.... the machines up on the balcony are clearly on their way out and need some TLC)... showers in women's locker room are constantly dripping and never get fixed. I hear the men's locker room is disgusting 24/7 but I've never gone in there. This gym meets all of my basic needs, but Gold's really needs to invest some $ in it so that upstairs group classrooms are not sweltering hot, and so that roof does not leak all over the gym every time it rains. Especially since some people may expect this to be a flagship gym that represents what the rest of them may be like wherever else we move after Dallas. Bad look, Gold's.

Good bang for your buck. There's always some sort of broken piece of equipment. There are alternatives but things should be taken care of more often. The bros don't re-rack the weights when done. The showers are pretty nasty (see pic below). I’ve sent two emails to management and I haven’t gotten an email back... or clean showers. New shower curtains are not expensive. The walls and soap dispensers are also nasty. There’s only one good shower with decent water pressure.

Been working out here for years, and am suprised by all the negative reviews. This is a gym and not a spa; or a stand and model gym where one gets their social happy hour on; and that's what I love about it.
The hours are much better than LA Fitness; and parking is reasonable and much better than other competitors in the area. Its also very clean and they always have a nice lady that does detailed cleaning during the afternoon who is very thorough and polite.
This is a gym in Uptown an arms length near downtown, so it's truly Urban in an affluent area, so you are going to get your mix of people. If one has a problem with certain "lifestyles" then you might want to stick to a private gym or suburban gym where you won't be easily offended.

I've been in various gyms for 20 years. This might be the worst gym I've ever worked out at. The machines are ancient but usable and for the price I won't complain. The issue is that the entire facility is in dire need of remodeling. Everything is covered in rust, dust, dirt and sweat. It doesn't appear that anyone has vacuumed in the past 6 months. Since they don't offer complementary towel service (which I'd gladly pay extra for as long as everyone else had towels) NOBODY wipes down the machines so there is a disgusting layer of someones sweat on essentially everything.
Ok, I bring my own towel so I'll deal with the sweat. The absolute worst part is that nobody puts away weights after they are done. I know this is a younger college age demographic but there are weights laying around everywhere. It's so bad that the trainers follow the same trend and never stack the weights of their clients and just move on to leave it as someone eases problem.
If the location wasn't so convenient (3 mins from where I live) I'd switch gyms in a heartbeat. It's too bad because the location has great potential but obviously the higher ups could care less.

Touted as a "weight lifters gym" which is some kind of joke when they have only have two squat racks. Heck they take the time took send out surveys and even give you some of the results. Guess what people are asking for? MORE SQUAT RACKS.
The ceiling leaks every time it rains and sometimes when it doesn't. There's always random trash cans collecting leaking water. The equipment, naturally, gets wet and rusty. I don't think there's a single new piece of equipment the entire time I went. Nothing is maintained I constantly had to ask for them to oil down the barbells and point out broken machinery to the staff. No one is told to return equipment after use so expect dumbbells to be missing or on the other side of the gym. Heck, trainers don't even clean up their clients racks/barbells and always leave a mess of equipment in their wake. Also, all the TVs throughout the gym are slowly going out. Don't expect anyone to care.
.
And the best part is instead of focusing on any of the above obvious problems or hell paying attention to the survey feedback they are creating new parking rules. Starting May 1st you have to keep a special sticker on your car or risk being towed.

It's a great gym. Typical for a Gold's, I gave it 4 not 5 stars because of its size. It's a weight and cardio room. If you're looking for a pool, sauna, racket ball ect it's not that kind of Gold's Gym. More like an Express location. Like all gyms try to avoid peak hours if you can. It's smaller size will mean popular weights and equipment are taken.

I would give this 4/5 but I'm trying to offset the ridiculous 1 star reviews. I shopped around to a lot of gyms in this area when I moved back to Dallas. I spent as long as I could at each one (for free) because I was in no hurry to sign up for another bad gym. When I got to Gold's and saw the price for membership along with the amount of equipment and space I signed up immediately. It is a good gym. It's no Equinox, obviously, but it's the best one in this area I could find. Peak hours are peak hours. Sometimes the equipment goes without repair for longer than I'd like (well, only once and it was 1 out 5 cables on the cable machine). My biggest complaint is that they should double the amount of squat racks because currently there are only 2.

It' a good gym. Peak hours are peak hours - try to avoid them if you're wanting to simply get in and get out otherwise you're with the rest of the crowds post work. There is a lot of equipment. You may have to re-order your work out at times depending on if it is busy because there are about 7 benches at the free weights and they get taken pretty quick. Track and cardio is always clean and ready. I dont do classes really so cant comment on that room or their teachers. There floor area for ab work stretching or whatever is nice if you just want room to do your own bodyweight work, agility, and stuff like that. They could use one maybe two more racks for squats, deadlifts etc. It does get pretty hot but its a gym I am there to sweat, burn cals and get a pump in. I think they have tanning at this one also. I guess they could do more giveaways but odds are they dont need to there are a lot of people in the area needing the facility. Long live ephedra!

Great gym. Especially when travel by to Dallas. Parking is a little tricky but they have more machines than you will need and a lot of free weights

Didn't like it. The lady at the front wouldn't honor a first time 3 day pass. She was working at the exact time of this post.

I find it very troubling that everyone on here has such high expectations. You obviously have never been to a gym before if you are complaining about waiting for equipment. Or complaining about parking. Let's get real here Golds gym has plenty of parking. And if you can not find a spot in the two lots provided so be it. Park in the street and walk! It's no different than any other gym in town. And the same applies to waiting for equipment. Maybe you shouldn't go to the gym during peak hours if that bothers you so much! I have belonged to 4 other gyms in town and I can honestly say this gym has the absolute best value out of all of them. The bathrooms and locker rooms are never dirty! The gym is by far one of the most cleanly in town. And the staff and management and trainers are all very friendly too. This place is obviously well managed and if any one of these poor reviewers could not jump to conclusions just because they had one bad experience, then they could see this gym has a lot to offer for the money you pay. High energy WiFi classes and a cardio cinema? Let's get real people for this gym being on Mckinney Avenue it deserves so much more credit then all of these ignorant reveiws. This is Dallas and yes parking can sometimes suck but doesn't it everywhere!? And hi welcome to a gym get used to other people using equipment! I promise you this gym is not very busy during non peak hours i.e 6 to 7 pm. Don't let these poor reviews pursued you from at least checking out the gym. Also take into consideration why people are leaving 1 stars vs 5 and also look at the time frame when some of these reviews were left. If you have any common sense you should know which reviews to trust and which ones are complete garbage. Ok my rant is over. :)

The most over crowded gym ever. If you want to wait over 30 minutes to use equipment, this is the gym for you. People on the desk are in your face too much too.
Parking is the worst. Members drive around the neighborhood looking for streets to park, then have to walk all the way back to the gym.
Horrible gym - don't waste your money or your workout time.

Worst branch probably. Gold gyms in general are avoidable.

Definitely would not recommend this gym - although body pump classes are wonderful - the lack of communication is terrible - I had a much more pleasant experience and nicer facility at the Signature LA fitness up the road!

Bad, low energy vibe that starts with the girl at the front who is 👎🏼. Old gym and equipment. I just walked out.

Nothing makes you feel like you need a long shower quite like a sales process akin to buying a used car. I dread shopping for a new gym only because the sales tactics at most gyms are some of the most scummy, slime bag techniques around, and this Gold's suffers from it. The sales guy I worked with was about as intelligent as expected, and didn't understand the math I was running in my head. He also clearly doesn't work on his grasp of the English language as hard as he works on his grip of a barbell. They flat out lie about the actual monthly cost (because they don't understand that bi-weekly does not equal semi-monthly, and you can't multiply by 2 to arrive at the monthly cost). Then, on top of it all, they hide (by omission) some of the upfront costs to the membership until you're just about to pay, so that you feel like a heal backing out at that point, and you rationalize that it's just a little bit more. The gym looked very nice, but I refuse to patronize an establishment with such unscrupulous sales practices.

The only reason I gave it a Good is because I had a good experience with the staff until I had my locker broken into. They stolled my 500 dollar watch, ipod touch, bose earbuds and a special necklace with a medallion from a military buddy of mine he got overseas that can never be replaces and all they told me was, and we are sorry but we are not responsible. When I talk to the police officer that took my report he told me that it happens alot at this location along with car breaking.

Great location and good gym but ethics are sub par. They gave me an additional two months last year when I signed up and now they are telling me the policy has changed and they are offering two months if I sign up now. What a slimy sales approach.
I would tell anyone not to sign up with them ever again!
