This gym has become unprofessional and hostile. I was accused of things I didn’t do — and never would — with no evidence. I even offered to show proof to clear my name, and they refused. On top of that, I’ve sent three separate emails and letters to Gold’s Gym corporate and never received a single response. It’s sad they act on rumors instead of facts. Save yourself the stress and find a gym that values honesty and respect.

I was charged an unexpected annual fee of $122, which I find unreasonable especially for a gym that closes at 11 PM. For $30 a month, the gym should really be open 24 hours. It’s also consistently overcrowded, with most of the equipment always in use and very limited space to lift.

On top of that, someone even attempted to break into my car in the parking lot. After that experience, I decided to cancel my membership. Overall, it just didn’t feel safe or worth the cost.

1 star because at the very least they have good equipment. I advise for everyone to be careful with this management. As you can read various people didn't get re-installed billing emails and they straight up lie about it. I'd avoid altogether anyways, crowded, noisy, to many people just hanging around talking. They follow none of their own gym rules.

This Gold’s Gym location is a complete mess. I canceled my membership months ago, followed the proper steps, even contacted my bank because they kept charging me, and they are still sending emails claiming I owe them money.

Customer service is terrible — they don’t provide clear answers or proof of these so-called charges. Instead, they try to intimidate with “collections” threats just to squeeze money out of people.

A gym should focus on supporting its members, not scamming them with fake charges. If you’re thinking about joining this location, do yourself a favor and go somewhere that actually respects its customers.

I strongly advise against signing up here. I canceled my membership and received a confirmation of the cancellation, yet they continued to charge me. Nearly a year later—over 10 months after cancellation—they even sent debt collectors after me for payments I clearly did not owe. This is incredibly dishonest and predatory behavior. Proceed with extreme caution, or better yet, stay far away.

After the hurricane in june, this gym kept charging me even though they were closed. Then half the amount, then it was free. I stopped going after that, and then I was moving to spring TX in December. I had to cancel my membership. Canceling was a pain and so I removed my card from the account because they would not let me cancel and later they tell me I owe them almost $300 starting January when they started charging again but I never stepped foot in that gym. They wouldn't let me cancel unless I paid the money. I'm never getting a membership with golds gym ever again. Just go somewhere else.

At least 1-2x a week they are up to 30 minutes late opening the gym. People who work out in the mornings are on a time crunch and being held up this late this consistently is so irritating. I think its unfair that I am paying a full membership monthly when I am not able to work out when the gym is supposed to be open.

I might be wrong, but I think it is actually the manager of the gym that is always late. Most likely going to cancel this membership.

Third update. Everything's back to normal now and I love it!😃

Second update: I'm going up to 4 stars because I really love this gym. Even though it's not 100%, you can still do your workout comfortably as always. There is still no access to the bathrooms or lockers, but they have installed bathrooms outside that are very comfortable and have AC as well as showers. For now, they are not charging membership fees to members and are giving free access to anyone who wants to come and do their workout, apparently only for the duration of the summer.

Update: Finally after 2 months the gym is open, not at full capacity but open, with the same pleasant atmosphere. I hope they finish the repairs soon and it will be the same or better.

The gym shut down due to storm damage, and I have not visited in 10 months. Oh man what a gym! From someone that has been working out at LA fitness for a while, it was nice to go back to a Golds Gym. In this review, I'm gonna focus on the things that were relevant and evident to me. These are the following:

1. Cleanliness: the gym was in pristine condition, from the lockers to the weight room, and all the free weights, including dumbbells and plates, were properly stored in their location. During my workout, it was evident that this is a byproduct of the culture that has been instilled. Everyone, from the gym staff to the members, care about keeping the gym neat and organized.

2. Equipment: top notch equipment and good distribution. There were multiple squat racks, smit machines, cables, among other machines, helping prevent bottlenecks, even during the busier hours of the day.

3. Rustic style: this may be more of a personal preference, but it was awesome stepping into this gym and seeing old school pictures of the OGs of bodybuilding. It brought me back to my old days training at golds gym in NY.

Update effective 12/19/2024:

Gold's is back to full strength after a long road to recovery after the derecho storm. All facilities, equipment, and locker rooms are back to normal. Still more tripods than I would like to see, but people are usually considerate when you ask them to keep you out of their camera.

Update 8/6/2024:

Updating to 4 stars as the gym has reopened, but there still is active construction and repairs on the locker rooms. Will be back to 5 stars when the repairs are completed.

This gym is very nice when it is open. Closed after the gym was damaged in the storm on 5/16, still no official communication from Gold’s since 5/31. Called customer service today 6/18 and got the same message as the one from 3 weeks ago. “We are unable to provide an estimate of when the gym will re-open.”

They are not charging members during this time and are allowing existing members the use of the other Gold’s locations, but those are either 30 minutes away in Champions or 45 minutes away in Friendswood.

鏡が一枚もないことに驚きましたが、昨年の写真では鏡があるのでこちらもハリケーンの影響なのかなと想像しました。

Gym 80が多くワクワクしました！日本で見たことのないマシンもありました。
トレーニーによっては電話していたりもしていて自由な感じでした。

流れているbgmが日本とも同じなのが不思議な感覚でした。

みなさん黙々とトレーニングされていて刺激がありました！また別の店舗も行ってみたいです。

日本はコンパクトながらプロテインバーや浴槽サウナがあるのが嬉しいですね笑

I’ve been to so many gym over the 8 years of my training experience and I’ve gotta say when I joined Golds Gym on Bingle I was was SOLD. The gym has been closed for way too long and still has the audacity to charge you for the next billing cycle (although it is half off). No I do not want to go to the other two locations located way too far from me, I would much rather have the full refund.

Unfortunately, the gym was severely damaged by the storm so it will take some time to renovate. However, Golds have communicated with their members that they are welcomed to the other locations (Northchase and Friendswood) in the time being and paused our memberships. Went to check the sign on door to see when they would reopen. The gm comes running from her car yelling at me. I’m asking questions to figure out what is going on and when It will re open after the storm extremely rude (not sure if she was antisocial) but told me to email to cancel I asked if she could write down the email for me so I can insure it was correct. There are lots of workout groups and influencers that seem to hog the machines during busy hours. There is just a general lack of awareness on how much time they are taking on a machine.

This gym is a great option in the area when your lifting needs exceed the typical big box gym. I love the night club vibe. If you forget your earbuds you don’t have to go home, their music is motivating to get you through. They have plenty of racks and equipment I love, like the pendulum squat. The manager is wonderful and housekeeping keeps things tidy. There’s never gym wipes or trash on the floor (pet peeve of mine). The only things I don’t care for are issues the members cause, not the gym. For example stealing the equipment. The club manages that as best they can so some items that could be snuck away in a thief’s bag you have to ask for at the desk, but they pretty much have everything you need!

I went to this Gym to gather information. I was greeted by a guy. I asked him if he could share information about the gym. He showed himself a little to prideful and I don’t mean brand pride. I was looking for someone to sell the gym to me. I told this guy I was looking for value since I currently have an LA fitness membership since 2019. I then asked him about the one on one couching sessions, how it works with them and how much they cost. The guy didn’t want to give the price. The reason? He wanted me to first see how it is and then he will tell me the price. I know this sales tactic. Let me tell you, this doesn’t work all the time. Not with me at least. He kept on saying how he has a major in fitness education blah blah, good for him. But I don’t care about that if you don’t want to share your price. You are selling a product/service for a $ amount. But you gotta show your value. He wanted to sell value without the $ amount. Anyways. These tactics only achieve one thing. You scare your prospects away, the lack of transparency and honesty makes your potential customer steer away from doing business with you. Here is the thing. People buy things from people they like. I certainly did not like this rep. Why? Simply because he didn’t build rapport or showed interest to sell the brand or uncover my needs and ultimately didn’t earn my trust. Can’t trust $1 to a business that can’t tell me their price. The overall experience was a little tense to be honest. The membership is about the same as LA pricewise. The one on one coaching sessions will remain a mystery. Perhaps I will try going someday I will be certain to speak with another one of their trainers and see how it goes. But you must have well trained people at the front they are the human face for your business. It all comes down to the service.

For now, you get 1 star from me.

Pros:
- High quality equipment
- Lots of machines, freeweights, dumbells, etc
- Great lighting
- Very friendly staff

Cons:
- Wish they would enforce members to keep shirts on. Not sure about you, but I find it pretty gross when a sweaty dude smears his shirtless body all over a piece of equipment.

Equipment is good but the gym is unsanitary. Machines aren’t cleaned regularly and staff is very rude. One staff member there always has AirPods in and won’t listen to a word you say. Find a better gym, this isn’t it.

This Gold's has a good layout, and excellent equipment for resistance training. The staff is nice and helpful. No complaints, it's a great place to work out.

After coming to the gym for over a year, I can appreciate how great the atmosphere is. This is a brand new gym with brand new equipment. The staff is generous and professional. Bathrooms and gym equipment are thoroughly cleaned and well-maintained every day. I have a lot of respect for the manager, Ana, she has helped me resolve any issue I had and seems to really care about making members happy.

One thing I will say is that the gym gets really crowded especially during peak times, and like others have said you will have to deal with a lot of annoying zoomers and wannabe influencers with tripods, although that’s not the gyms fault itself, more because of the area and people who live here. Also I really wish this gym had a sauna, although i don’t really know where they’d put it. If this place had a sauna and some more plate-loaded hammer strength machines (please replace the plate loaded chest press machines I never use them) ones it would be 5 stars for me and actually the best gym I’ve ever been to.

Lack of security caused my truck to be stolen right from the front door and staff were unable to provide me with surveillance footage…. I really enjoy the equipment but don’t feel safe going there anymore unless they hire some security or something

The website is worthless. Tried multiple times to get a pass to check it out and maybe join but after putting it all my personal info and hit submit. It starts all over saying some fields are missing? Well because it clears your info as soon as you complete it ..frustrating. I guess having memberships at planet fitness and LA fitness is enough anyway

This is the best gym that I have been to so far. It is very clean, well maintained, functioning machines for just about every muscle group, friendly and knowledgable staff, merchandise is great and my favorite part is the vibe of the gym. The environment encouraged a great workout. I love it here.

Hands down the best gym I have ever set foot in. Staff is caring and dependable, management is out of this world, top tier equipment and members. Can hands down say I’ve had some of the BEST lifts and experiences here.

Can get really busy around 5PM. Other than that, it is a great place to get your lift in!
