I went in to get information and left with a new membership. Alex greeted me with such positive and enthusiasm. She guided me the entire process. Explained what membership would fit me best and made sure I understood. The following day I went for my free training session with Alex and OMG I LOVED IT! I’ve been training over a year with Max, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision of training at this gym. Since you walk in the whole welcomes you with a smile and friendly atmosphere. Max is an amazing trainer, passionate for his work, patient, motivates you to keep on going, throughout the years I’ve had different trainers but no one like max , I’ve seen my body change and I fell in love with working out. I would like to start by noting that the staff at this specific gym are incredibly attentive to detail and ensure the safety and understanding of gym practices. Next, when it comes to the sale of memberships, they consistently try to give you the best deal for whatever situation you are in, whether finances are a burden or one is unable to pay for a biweekly payment. The personal trainers and floor trainers do a great job at maintaining the cleanliness within the gym, as well as giving tips when asked. If anyone were to ever ask me what my favorite gym I would by far choose Gold's Gym Mission.

Gold’s Gym Mission is truly one of the best gyms in the area. The people here are always welcoming and create such a positive environment every time I walk through the door. The personal trainers are extremely knowledgeable and genuinely invested in helping you reach your goals — you can tell they know what they’re doing and care about their clients’ progress.
The facility itself is kept very clean and well-maintained, which makes every workout that much better. Overall, an amazing place to train with an even better community. Highly recommend.

I’ve been to Golds gyms around the country and also may other top gyms around the world,, and Mission Golds, Tx is by far my favorite. One of the main reasons I give this gym a 5 STAR is because of the cleanliness of this gym!! Chris and Diana are always busy cleaning!!! They have the BEST, most hygienic cleaned gym I ever been to. Many times i WONDER,?? Why are they still cleaning those areas when they are super clean!!? Adm I think the ANSWER is “They take pride in what they do!! Thank you ladies!! You are definitely a great TEAM!! Thank you for being the best for us at Golds!!!! ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Kept on charging me even though I had canceled the membership well I had thought I had canceled it they continued to charge my account and not monthly the system waited 4 months then charged me all at once over 300 dollars ridiculous service in the store too, no one to help me with the matter.

There’s no rules at this gym, so that’s tight. Anarchy is sick IMO. Rack your weights? Nah. Not supposed to have bags on the gym floor? Bring that bad boy in and clog an aisle.
Do you like those picture games where you have to find the hidden objects? Then you’ll love this gym where you’ll spend 15 minutes searching for weights that someone just left somewhere and never bothered to put up.
Wipe down your equipment? Are you crazy? Let that hard work juice pierce the leather and embrace the next user to let them know you value hard work (but not putting your weights up, let everyone know what you were lifting long after you’re gone!)
This gym also features a museum of broken equipment on display on the floor, an interesting look at the history of exercise!

I love my Silver Sneakers class. We meet 3 times a week for 1 hour. I feel so much better. We dance we do weights and resistance band exercises. I’m able to do my everyday chores and activities with ease.

I got membership to use sauna and sadly it never works! 👎👎👎👎👎
Often times I have to bother the guys up front and they reset it but even then I have to wait atleast 20 more minutes to heat up and it’s still useless because it doesn’t get hot enough🤦🏻♀️

Standard commercial gym, but they have some really bad hours. Gold’s gyms are known for being open late and y’all close at 8PM on weekends? On top of that, during the summers, they like to either not pay for air conditioning or turn off the air conditioner so it feels like you’re suffocating. Employees are usually chill, way better than crunch that’s for sure.

Best bang for your buck as far as the GGX classes go! So much variety throughout the week. I easily partake in 5-7 classes a week. The gym instructors are class act individuals and there is a deep sense of camaraderie amongst the members as well. Going on my 3rd year as a member and I can visibly see the progress I’ve made.

I used to be a member at Gold's Gym for a few years before COVID started, back when it was open 24 hours a day. However, after COVID, they discontinued their 24-hour schedule, which affected me because I used to go after work at 2 am. I reached out to the management, sending several emails explaining that I had initially signed up because of the 24-hour access. Their response was that they were evaluating the situation and that it might return to being open 24 hours in the future. I decided to give them some time before canceling my membership and switching to another gym, even though this Gold's Gym was conveniently located just 5 minutes away from my workplace and on my route home. Ultimately, it turned out to be a good decision to switch gyms, as they never reverted to their 24-hour schedule.

This was the first gym I ever trained at when I was younger & I’m still a member now years later even though I don’t live in Mission anymore. Currently have my account frozen because if I ever move back to Mission, this will be the gym I continue going to. The vibes I get at this gym are the best I have found of all the gyms I have ever been to. The pool, jacuzzi & outdoor area are just a part of what separates this place from other gyms. Also, not everyone will be recording their workout all the time which helps minimize distractions when getting your workout in. They have 3 showers available in the men’s restroom & lockers available to put your things in. They also have a sauna available in the restroom. Recently went back down to Mission for a quick trip & went here to get a workout in. This place feels like a second home to me. Continue to improve your gym Gold’s Gym - Mission, absolutely love this place.

This is the best gym in the area, with the best machines in the industry. The staff is very friendly and outgoing, I always get a hello and a bye each time. The manager is very professional, is often seen cleaning and racking weights. I love the pool and I hope they keep it open unlike the ones in San Antonio. The only think I would say is I wish they had more equipment outside

Worst gym in the RGV. Bad management. I asked for a no contract plan to have the freedom to cancel at any time. When I wanted to cancel they told me I had to pay a penalty for the contract cancellation fee. 🤦🏻♂️ Even though I was paying a higher monthly payment to be in the no contract plan. In summary, Bad business practices!!

BE CAREFUL! I signed up in December 16,2022 for my membership and had to pay an annually fee, but after January 1,2023 came I had to pay another annually fee after berly paying for one. Also , after I canceled my membership they are still charging my card for monthly payments.

Great facility. I read some reviews of the front staff being rude but I have been going for over 6 months and they have always been nice to me.
I really enjoy the outdoor workout area as well as the punching bags. Great for reverse sledding and other dynamic workouts.
I also enjoy using the sauna as theres usually no one in it. One thing I will say is that the price is high compared to other gyms around the area, and they only allow you to bring a guest one day during the week (Friday), compared to Tru Fit which allows Friday-Sunday. At least they stay open slightly later on the weekends.
Overall I like the gym and it is my preferred place because it is only 4 minutes from my house. Would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind paying twice as much as another gym for a less crowded environment and an outdoor area and pool. But if you're trying to save money on your gym membership, this is definetely not the place to go.

Dirty, broken down.. the room where classes are held, the AC is busted, and will take 6months-1year to fix, the gym can afford a couple big industrial fans, but we get 3-4 small fans that people wanna take ownership of. This gym used to have more classes, but not so many anymore. Lacking in a lot..

I really hate this gym, zero problem with staff but the people that goto this gym, maybe it's a valley thing. People put weight back on where ever they see fit, or it's just laying around.
I constantly looking around where the weights are.
I know people do that at all gyms but nothing close what goes on here, but since I'll be moving soon. We will see if it's a valley thing or this location thing.

I had an issue with Trufit putting me on a agreement, so I went to Golds gym and asked only for 1 month, told the guy many times that I don’t want to have an agreement or autopay, I told him “if my membership gets expired I would pay again when I come here again. Not only he put me on autopay. HE USED MY CREDIT CARD SIGNATURE TO MAKE A WHOLE AGREEMENT. Now I have a debt of 500$ with risk of collection because this scammer faked documents on me. Cashier even admits it’s a daily problem they have. THIS IS NO JOKE, this guys ripp off hard time. Also 70$ per month is already a scam. Careful signin in on march, they charge 130$ for “cleaning” machines BS

Staff is extremely disrespectful, & to top it off, I was shoved & yelled at: “we can fight outside if you want” by a shorter dark haired gentleman who works here for showing him that my credit card number was indeed the correct one on file. Management did near to nothing about the situation. Bunch of people who clearly weren’t interviewed correctly.

I would like to congratulate Jessica who is a great professional, I love her barre class. I would recommend to be more careful about the swimming pool cleaning. I also suggest to listen the requests of the members to be able to have customer satisfaction. For example, the zumba class music is super loud and many members have complained and management do not do anything about it, at least owner sould buy better sound equipment!

I went to the gym with my dufel bag they told me one time i cant have that bag, so after that the general maneger comes tells me their complaining about you, i directly told him that it was my second time that location, he wad rude and was very ignorent, i saw other people with bags and told him his like but thats a dufel bag not ah regular backpack and after i told him he was rude, he banned me from the gym.

This is probably the worst golds gym I have ever been to. Weights are not put back in order. A lot of the equipment is messed up. I have been here like 4 times since January 2022 and it keeps getting worse ever time I go.
Theres needs to be more cleanliness. It is very hard to find the weight that you need when there is no order.

The Weights meaning plates, and Dumbells were torn up and shakey, the ground was falling apart, the community at this gym refuses to rack their weights when done using a machine. Dumbells are scattered across the gym, definitely not worth the full price, but if you are getting discounted for temporary usage of a few months or less it will get the job done.

Always looking forward to the gym but as soon as you enter you feel unwelcomed the girls at the front desk are always super unpleasant low energy NEVER greet you they just sit there mean muggin’ you or ignoring you especially the blonde.It’s toxic. I wish I could give 0 stars, to begin with there’s never managers available. They’re either extremely late, don’t show up, or are “busy”. I left my notes with my contact info and the managers never seemed to care to give me a call back, I had to keep calling for days, multiple times a day. There wouldn’t be a need for a manager if other employees were trained properly, but they’re not knowledgeable about their services. Info changes as you speak to other employees. The gym itself it’s not the problem, management is.

This location is in disrepair. Most elliptical machines are broken, day locker doors are falling off in the men's locker. This whole place is desperate need of maintenance, and management does not seem to be working on it to fix it or replace it. Lastly most of the cardio equipment is really out dated. (UPDATE)A FEW MONTHS LATER LOCKERS ARE STILL BROKEN.

Gold's gym has poor communication with the customers. They charged my card wrong twice without even letting me know. They did not give me any agreement at the time of registration and after two months charged the annual fee. When I complained, they sent the agreement from no where. They want me to accept the agreement now. The manger is not listening. He is not using communication skills. There is no understanding. He is forcing me to repeat myself and not trusting my words. There is no system to deal with the customers. So many different deals are up and running. They themselves are confused. They want to do business without integrity.

1 star only because I can’t put a “0”. I had to leave the country and I called to see I I could freeze my account. A family member passed away and I ended up staying for over 2 months. I was told it would be frozen over the phone, then noticed I still was being charged. I just got back and am told I have to sign a paper and pay 1 more month because I need this signed form to cancel. Since I wasn’t able to come in person I got screwed with another month. They don’t care about the person only about the MONEY 🤬

A very similar experience to Brisela below, except they've also turned my "debt" over to a collector who is calling every day, while simultaneously texted me to say they'll wipe this "debt" away if I sign up again.

Would give no stars if possible. I had been wanting to cancel my membership, but figured it would be a lot cheaper just paying off the year. I called 5 months earlier before to see what I had to do to cancel it. All they said it would be easier to wait to cancel. I called again the month before to make sure there was anything I had to do so I wouldn’t be charged for the month after my contract was up. And all they said was charging should stop after the last month. I was moving out of town and I wanted to make sure that they WOULD NOT CHARGE me. But they did. And told me I had to verify them 30 days prior to cancel, it said it in the contract. That I had to sign a form. I understood that, but it was not my fault when I called twice and not once did the customer service people mentioned that when I was calling on this exact matter. They still charged my card. Needless to say they have the worst customer service members working there who are not even informed on their own policies.

I think this Is a very nice and clean gym. It used to be so dirty but now as of 2019 it is a completely remodeled gym. No racquetball courts and the weight room is a lot bigger now with them out of the way. This is my second favorite Golds after McAllen. I do not like Edinburg or Pharr Golds, but I will take Mission as a Substitute for McAllen when I haft to.

Im not a morning person much less a gym oriented individual. Today I made an effort of changing may habits therefor, I got a 7 day pass for this location. Finally I made it to the gym!!!! The did not allow me in since I did not had an Id. Well im going to the gym! I don’t have a locker! So they expect for me to bring my wallet? So i lost my morning time on this and will never go back. I would like to make a complain about one of your staff member. Its this girl with short brown hair and was today in the front desk around 5:00 pm. I have had several bad experiences with this Golds Gym staff member but hadn't made a complain before. I don't know her neither her name but she always stares at me, rolls her eyes at me when I get to the gym. She never says at least good afternoon. She doesn't have any manners. She is always on her cell phone and gossiping with other staff about customers. I have several friends at the gym and they told me that she tríes to flirt with them and that it is very uncomfortable. I do expect for her to be terminated. I would also like to make a formal complain because this type of behaviour shouldn't be tolerated.

Every time the staff is worse with no education. Who is the manager that doesn't even traín them to say at least good afternoon to customers? Instead especially the girls that aré in the entrance aré gossiping about the female customers and flirting with male customers. As always no education with the staff but now is worse than ever. Definitely the best Golds gym in the area. The equipment is a little worn but it gets the job done. Here are my negatives, the dumbbells only go to 150lbs and the weight stacks only go to 260lbs.They could use more 45lb. plates. My positives are they have everything you need to grow. Today was my last day before I head back to Austin, as someone we all know famously said “I’ll be back”. Hey Forever Strong my gym brothers! 👍

I have done a lot of personal growth at this gym! I joined Gold's Gym excited about a new experience--bought into the branding and 'idea' of Gold's Gym.
Amenities:
These were the one of the highlights of my Gold's Gym experience, namely: the dry sauna, (the smell in the steam sauna is repulsive as it is rarely cleaned, you come out smelling like clothing that's been humid for days--it's unbearable), the pool, the racketball courts, and the weight area. Showers are funky and not well cleaned.
Weight Training - Plenty of free weights to suit any regimen, except peak hours, you'll have to wait or share.
Cardio - They have 2 rowing machines, several stair masters, 3 rows worth of treadmills, and ellipticals.
A huge plus is (like other gyms) it's open 24 hours, but it closes Friday, and early on weekends.
Community:
I met some amazing people. Often you'll see gym goers chatting up the front-desk employees so there's definitely a strong community and gym culture.
This might not be a good first-gym as there aren't many folks actively promoting the gym or 'reaching-out,' yo'll have to find and try things for yourself.
Regular gym goers tend to avoid eye-contact and starting conversations for the most part, but I believe this is more of a regional behavior (as in, you only smile or say 'hello' to people you already know).
Often, you'll hear a strong mix of Spanish and English being spoken in the locker rooms.
Despite the strong Mexican-American representation I also noticed a sparse diverse community, (black, white, asian, gay).
Side note: I've heard it rumored that there are several cartel-associated members in this gym, but I have never met them or if I have it wasn't obvious that they were affiliated in any sense (perhaps that is mostly social unawareness on my part).
Classes:
They have very little selection in terms of classes here. Biking only happens once (or twice) a week and unfortunately I have never been able to try it, no yoga. They do offer a ridiculously priced cross-fit experience. I have heard mixed reviews about it from my gym pals.
Service:
My very first experience with customer service was lack luster to say the least. I went in with my sibling to sign up, though excited as we were, we couldn't help but notice how uninviting and just plain bored the Gold's associate was with us. I knew about some of the amenities the facility had to offer, but my sibling didn't. We were hoping the associate would try to 'sell' the experience to us--to get us excited, but then again this Gold's Gym is in an affluent area, so perhaps new membership/revenue isn't a priority for them.
Add to this: Neither associates or managers have control over billing, so if you ever have an issue, you're in pretty rough shape. I was given the run-around with my 'month-to-month' contract, so if anything make sure you highlight important parts in your contract and keep it on hand in an email. Be ready for a loss.
This gym like others, tends to make it's money on fees. They don't have an app, so if you ever lose your tag, you'll have to pay $10-15 for a small piece of plastic with a barcode (I find this hilarious).
The gym does sell health and nutrition of all kinds though the mark-up is on the higher-end (e.g.: Monsters go for 3-4 dollars), so if you ever need it it's there, but I'd highly advice getting these at an actual Nutrition Shop /big box store.
A cool thing I liked was their 'points' system. Every time you check in you get 10 'points' on a third-party application named Perkville. It's totally complimentary, your information gets shared with a third party in this case though. Anyhow, you can score a free protein shake, sweat rag, a shirt, and even free classes every three to twelve months. It doesn't seem like much, but I've gotten to try all their protein shakes for free ninety-nine.
Would I recommend this gym?
Personally, I think this is the best gym (2018-2019) in the area all things considered, but I wouldn't rejoin and am happy to leave.

The kids club is in very bad condition!!!! The walls have a hole, the paint is peeling off and they have not changed the carpet!!! I suppose that if we pay the maintenance fee every year I would assume that they should at least fix the kids zone. It just very sad to see that the manager does not do anything about it.

Moved out of the area and tried to cancel and that's the tricky part even though my contract was up they wouldn't cancel without speaking to a manager and apparently there's no manager on site all the time... When I finally got to find a manager they still charged an additional 30 days because of the 30 day notice that was given but apparently not good enough... Save your money go down the street newer facility and apparently less expensive... And in the process they charged me the month to month fees almost $60 plus annual fees another $50 too much hassle to cancel contracts be aware before you sign...

Spoke to some gentleman and was by far the rudest employee I've every came across. The employee at one point threatened me if I went to go to Gold's Gym because I was going to leave a review. Didn't want to give his name, I asked for a manager and he said that they weren't in at the moment. Ask for the manager'js number and gave me the wrong XL. number. I'm a part owner of a business I'm just doing this for the GM/Partner. Will not be getting a membership there and will definitely not recommend this gym to anyone.

Changing my review here because this gym is slowly becoming trash. The men's steam room has been out of service for more than 4-5 months , most of the cardio machines in the cinema don't work, the men's RR upstairs never has a trash can so the toilet is flooded or there is always papers on the floor, some water faucets and soap disposal are broken, the smoothie bar looks cheap and y'all make shakes with faucet water , like cmon I'm paying $45 a month and this is the best Golds gym Mission has to offer? I used to recommend this gym a lot, not anymore!

I hired personal trainer Nash Patel for (3) months to achieve the results that I could not achieve on my own. Each person’s goals are extremely personal. Whether it be weight loss, building muscle or both. Nash is going to develop goals and a meal plan that will lead you down a path to success. He has a passion for fitness and is fit himself. He pushed my limits and helped me accomplish what I thought my body couldn't do. Do yourself a favor and hire NASH as your personal trainer at Gold's Gym.
