Great friendly staff and well managed location. Unfortunately, most of the equipment is way passed its useful life with several broken machines on a daily basis. They need to upgrade all their equipment before it's too late!

The one star is not reflective of the interactions I have had with the staff but is purely due to the fact that they are consistently late to open their doors at the time of their advertised hours. Opening on time is not a favor but is a part of the service that is being paid for. I plan my mornings around the time of “open,” though that is, sadly, rarely the reality. As many others, I have a limited amount of time due to my own obligations and responsibilities that I couldn’t fathom being tardy too…much less would my tardiness be tolerated. I have hesitated to write a review but this has been the most unprofessional gym I’ve ever experienced when it comes to the employees respecting their member’s time and opening according to schedule. Today I waited for over 20 minutes for someone to show up, at which point I gave up due to a lack of time.  At this point, 7:20, there were still no employees in sight, in addition to plethora of other members patiently waiting.

The Manager does not do a good job at keeping the Gym clean or functional. It is always dirty, many of the machines are broken and those working look worn and outdated.

On several occasions I am there at 5a ready to work out, and there is no one to open. Tuesday (10.21.25) I was there at 5a, after 15 minutes I started to run in the parking lot. At 6a I left, still no one there.

The only reason I am still a member is because it is conveniently located. I hope this gym closes down and a proper gym opens up in the exact location.

Hey, been to the GG at Tech Ridge (now closed) then the GG at Hester’s Crossing (Round Rock) and am now here at the GG in Pflugerville. This GG is the best of the bunch. The equipment is in good condition, the gym itself is kept clean, and the trainers are the best in the business. It’s ‘busy’ which reflects all these things.

In 7 months of being here, I've already made 2 attempts to cancel and have been told I couldn't, yet I get charged as if I chose the plan you could cancel. The staff was no help, pretty much telling me I'd need to share my PERSONAL medical records from my doctor with them if I wanted to leave. I decided to do some digging, and in 6 months I've been charged $374. My plan is $35 a month. And when I tried to cancel? I was told my plan was $27 a month and couldn't be cancelled. But every charge I get is $37+. Save your money, time, sanity, and go to another gym. The equipment is mediocre at best, if not already broken, and the pool hasn't been open in months if not over a year. And if you ever need help figuring out why you've been triple charged, have fun, they're just going to tell you to suck it up pretty much 👍🏼

Scammy billing tactics, misleading fine print, and a minefield of tricks. Call the support number and bad becomes worse. Avoid this place unless you enjoy trying to figure out why your credit card keeps getting hit as you listen to hold music.

Don’t buy into the negative reviews about staff or cleanliness. I’ve been a member here for 5 years and have never had a single problem with either. The gym has everything you need to get in shape, and at the end of the day, it’s a place to work out... not to nitpick.

I’ve been a member here for some time, and unfortunately, the facility has declined to the point where I can no longer recommend it.

The gym is not well-maintained. Many of the machines are outdated and dirty, and the treadmills are in particularly poor condition. Approximately 10 of them are completely out of service, while others have belts that are severely worn, uneven, or even slashed. This creates a serious hazard. On several machines, the consoles don’t function properly, and almost every treadmill has had its safety key removed, which raises significant safety concerns.

Cleanliness is also lacking. The equipment and facility in general don’t appear to be cleaned regularly, which is disappointing for a space that sees so much use. While some staff members are friendly, approachable, and doing tasks others spend more time on their phones than engaging with members or ensuring the gym is kept clean and orderly.

Another recurring issue is the lack of supervision when children are present. I think it’s great to encourage kids to develop healthy habits, but when parents do not monitor them, it creates a dangerous situation. I have seen children using machines incorrectly, which puts them at risk of injury. Staff rarely step in to address this.

Overall, this gym feels unsafe, unsanitary, and poorly managed. Until management takes serious steps to update equipment, enforce safety standards, and improve cleanliness, I cannot recommend it.

Gym is in horrible condition. Wish I could give 0 stars. Most of cardio equipment has been broken for 6 months or more. The list is growing. Pads and rubber on equipment is either ripped or completely gone. Men's bathroom is a biohazard. The personal lock boxes in the front are broken or need to be reset. Gym manager does absolutely nothing about the condition of the gym. He does not respond to emails and multiple notes members leave on his desk. Golds gym staff are even disappointed in gym conditions. They voice their concerns when you ask for managers information. I've sent emails to corporate office about this gym. No response. Worst Gold's Gym I've ever seen. How does management keep their job with all the negative reviews and comments?

This gym is a total dump. Do NOT go here. The machines are all old and in constant states of disrepair. Pins in the weight stacks are missing and many pins in seat adjustments are completely broken off for months after being reported to the staff. This causes a danger to people using the broken machines. The staff doesn't empty the trash or refill the spray bottles and the gym is dirty. It's ridiculously hot inside during summer months as if the a/c is broken or they keep the temp high to save money. Also they close at 9:00 on weekends. This gym needs a new owner or GM who actually cares about running a good business. Pathetic.

Extremely terrible service. They tell you extreme lies on the first day of the membership on the front desk to get you on board and they charge you $100 (65 annual and 35 for the month) on the third month without telling you what you are signing up for. Extremely unfaithful, terrible managers. If you have any other options do not sign up for this scam gym. Other gyms tell you upfront about their charges. This gym doesn't tell you anything and rob you of your money with hidden membership charges. Terrible service and group fitness classes. Other locations are worse.

We attempted to sign up for a membership as a family and were initially told that the annual fee would be per family. However, once front desk person began adding our children, we were informed the $59.99 annual fee would apply per person, including minors. This was not communicated clearly upfront. front desk person said we will pay $240 annual fees in 2 months for a family of 4!!
We immediately chose to terminate the registration and to stop adding my 2nd son, but were told " oh not it's too late now" we would still be charged for July and August despite not using any services. While some staff members were helpful in canceling my membership and my son’s few days later, my wife’s membership remained active and was charged, despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue.
After many calls, a manager informed me they could not cancel her account and it's a corporate thing. This experience was frustrating, misleading, and unprofessional. I strongly advise others to exercise caution.

This place is full of outdated and broken equipment and some pieces smell pretty bad, as if they are never cleaned. I have been here at all times of day and have never seen staff cleaning. Front staff is nonattentive at times, with some more interested in the content of their phone than attending to patrons requests.

Gym is too small for the number of people who use it. The swimming pool has been closed for years with no reason and no indication as to when it will be opened again, if ever.

If you are a long time Gold's member like I am, don't expect much if you are visiting here.

No issues with the staff, they're great! The reason for my rating is due to how often, and how many of, the machines are consistently broken or do not operate properly. Despite there being so many machines, more than a few are constantly out of order. Or if they do work, they do not work properly (don't incline or decline correctly). It's super frustrating, not the fault of the staff at all. This shouldn't be an issue for a gym this size with monthly dues as high as they are.

I had a year to year membership that expired in August last year and I have been trying to cancel my membership since July last year and whenever I go in he’ll “disable my account” but then I still end up getting charged and I go back and my acc is active again, I have gone in 8 times and each times he blows me off when they literally owe me around $400 because I haven’t been there once since I thought I ended it in August last year, they’ll trap you even if you try end a membership, I had to reach out to corporate and dispute all my charges and the issue is still not fixed but it’s the best I can do

I chose Gold’s over the local Cowboy’s Fit in Pf because I hated the idea of sitting in the Stonehill traffic, but I’m regretting it now. This place is cheap and shabby. Clocks are not accurate on the wall. Machines have weight labels worn off, broken seat locking mechanisms, even missing parts entirely. The lateral delt raise machine is supposed to have hand grips, where are those? No towels, no physical barcode tags, which means you can’t register for the app, no working WiFi. Sad.

The reason I gave 3 stars:
1st- The sauna is very dirty. Please mop the floor and under the wood bench as it is extremely dirty. 2nd-The restroom needs more attention. These are easy fixes that should be addressed immediately.
Once, these issues are addressed I will be happy to increase the stars on my review.

I came or my first visit and was so disappointed.
I was hoping to find Golds Gym like the one back home in Houston.
This gym is a far cry from the 5 star gym I'm used to.
Gold's back home has amazing machines you don't find in other gyms, anywhere. The dumbell rack back home goes up to 180 pounds, and the tower cables go into weights of 400-500 pounds.
This gym is very low tier, nothing at all special about it.

The gym is kinda small and tends to stay very busy. It’s been okay most days but almost every time I go in there’s another broken machine or issue. They bought a bunch of really weird machines that don’t exactly feel like you’re getting the proper form. But long story short, there’s enough treadmills and cardio machines, not enough benches, barbells, or leg machines. There’s basically just one of each.

Again is it too much to to ask for a hot shower? Screw the renovations, fix the gym amenities that are messed up. And I get it, we are talking about a men's locker room but that's no excuse for how dirty it is. The urinals have three inch thick urine stains. The cold showers are filthy and never cleaned. I pay $40 plus for a broke down tores gym with cold showers. Hutto needs more options. And golds needs go do better. Gonna find a new gym. Solid Gold’s location. Moderately clean. I have found over the past couple of weeks the sanitizing sprays have been empty throughout most of the gym when I go, and sometimes there are no paper towels in the machines to wipe down equipment. Men’s bathroom is a little messy sometimes, as men’s restrooms tend to be. The restroom have never failed to smell like a steamy bowel movement, however. I have also noticed some of the most popular equipment, such as the stair-masters, are broken and have been broken since I started attending this location about 3 months ago. I also notice a lot of people don’t wipe equipment down after use, so a friendly reminder to wipe before and after using to avoid cross contamination of whatever people are bringing in. I also notice a lot of people reserving multiple pieces of equipment at once by putting their belonging next to them and moving between them, limiting what you can use without being rude. I do recommend this location as it gets the job done just fine. Classes are great, with friendly, professional trainers, and front desk staff are always nice and welcoming.

This is far and away the worst Gold's gym with a 512/737 area code. Believe you me, I don't like writing negative reviews, I try and work out the issues directly with the business if at all possible. As others have mentioned, there is but 1, yes 1...elliptical left at this gym that is in acceptable condition. The other 7 or 8, the footholds are incredibly loose and wobbly making it not only uncomfortable but also potentially dangerous (maybe I'll get an early retirement through a settlement?) Here is my timeline of trying to work this out with the gym: I began my membership at this location in November of 2023, I brought to their attention (front desk) in December 2023 the poor shape that their ellipticals were in, they said they'd pass it along to management. In January of 2024 I received a survey request for this location. I left the same feedback on the survey. I was VERY impressed I received a response within 15 minutes from the manager at this location indicating they were aware of the issue and had ordered the appropriate parts for repair. 4 months later (April 2024), ellipticals are still in terrible shape (are these parts on one of Elon's rockets from Mars?), I again bring it to the front desk's attention, they'll be sure to pass it along. Here we are in July with no progress made. This is completely unacceptable for one of the more expensive gym memberships. My side hustle takes me all over the Austin and College Station area, so I've had the chance to try out most if not all of the area Gold's over the past year. Rest assured, Pflugerville Golds is hands down the worst location. My absolute favorite is the Hesters Crossing/I35 location in Round Rock. I do anything and everything to avoid going to the Pflugerville location which sucks...its less than 2 miles from where I live.

Other big issue is the shower situation. In the mens, one of the stalls is completely missing the knob, and another falls off if you don't press in while you are turning it. The water fountain water is also warmer than the shower water. So incredibly disappointing. Only positive about this location is the front desk staff is INCREDIBLY friendly, most greet you on arrival/departure.

Gold corporate: If you read these, please send someone out to look at this gym, it is tarnishing the brand name, as soon as HT fitness is complete in Hutto I will be switching my membership same day.

HT Fitness: If you read these, for the love of all that is good and holy please hurry and finish your location, Hutto/Pflugerville desperately needs a decent gym and the bar has not been set high.

They need to have someone start telling people to stop sitting on the benches, lifting weights for 15 seconds, and then staring at their phone for 5 or 10 minutes in between sets. You hedge a sign in the wall that says no phones, maybe enforce your rules. Almost everyone just sits there on their phones on the equipment.

I have been trying to cancel my membership since August last year. Called and was told I would have to be there in-person or I could use the online chat function. I chose the online function and did it multiple times since I no longer live in the area. There was no response, so I signed up for online membership access to submit a request that way... no response. I then started responding to all of the no reply messages. Finally, decided to just block the auto-draw from my account. Then, the late notices started. I finally resorted to going through the app support team who gave me an email contact to finally cancel. So, I have now been sent to collections for an account I have tried to cancel for months. In my opinion, there seems to be a concerted effort to keep people from being able to cancel immediately in order to milk the autodraw as long as possible. I have seen other comments on here as well. Very shady practice. I will be sending all my documentation to the collection agency whom I should never have had to deal with in the first place.

Extremely Poor. The policy on recurring payments is such that when you cancel (and you must physically SIGN a paper to cancel), you must always make the next payment, no matter what it is for, nor what the amount is. This is NOT highlighted and amounts to a deceptive business practice.

Edit on 2024/05/28: just got nailed with a late fee because my credit card expired. No warnings. This company slams you with fees if you blink. As noted on other reviews, go elsewhere if you have the option, which I do not.

I've been a member here for a couple of years now and only continue to go because of location. But, if you live next to other gyms, don't come here, it's the worst. The pool has been closed as far as I can remember, there are never any towels to wipe down the machines, not to mention there are always a number of machines broken.... Hell, there was no soap in the entire bathroom the other day. This place needs their employees to get off their cell phones and work every once in a while. Coming from LTF (from MN), I was super excited to see golds less than a mile away from home but I can’t rate this place above 2. I only prefer weight training now but this place seemed to have very limited options. There is officially only one squat rack. The other two are rusted to its entirety and noticed the olympic bars have completely lost all its grip. Majority of the equipments needs an upgrade and so does the ethical standards. Noticed most of the folks here work out in groups and don’t switch machines quickly. The group at the leg press was taking forever. Fitness clubs treats this very seriously nowadays and even includes this into their regulations.
Bottom line is, I could easily tell this place is more a “what you get for what you pay for”. Not sure if this is gold’s standards but Im clearly disappointed on my first day. Im happy I didn’t sign up because front desk told me to take the guest pass instead. I ended up joining cowboys - they have 4 full sized squat racks and much better quality.

Unpleasant Customer Service Experience

I recently had a disappointing encounter with the customer service at this gym. Despite calling to have my debit card removed from the account to avoid charges, the representative assured me it would be done but failed to follow through. Subsequent calls to rectify the situation were met with rudeness, and the staff refused to address the issue. This experience has left me frustrated and questioning the level of customer care at this establishment.

My family and I have been members here for the last several years, 24hr fitness and lifetime before that. Overall, this gym provides a positive experience mainly around gym equipment options (modern, variation and maintained when broke), cleanliness, size of gym, and customer service from the GM team is good - Genuine people who take feedback and want to help. The main negative is overcrowding at peak hours which is expected at the price point.

I guess this specific gym is notorious for not cancelling people's membership (look at the reviews). Cancelled on 4/20. Billed on 4/25(the next billing cycle). Which that should have ended on 5/25. I still kept getting charged. Called them and the lady told me to email Mark which I did. I emailed both emails. Got no response. Now I am getting a letter from a collections agency which could affect my credit. Great Job!

Gold’s has been a great gym IMO. Does it get busy during peak hours? Yes. But the members are friendly and the gym has enough equipment to go around. Sometimes I do have to wait a few minutes for a machine but this is a first world problem.

Is the music loud? Yes. Does everyone wear headphones? Also yes. But if I don’t have my headphones or I need to let my ears breathe, I don’t want to hear heavy breathing, grunting, and weights clanking. So am I OK with the loud music? Also also yes.

I’ve only taken the Gold’s Burn and Gold’s Fit classes in the morning and they are great. Coach Darnell is a lot of fun and I dig his playlists.

My only beefs are:

*The Gold’s Burn room has been out of commission for several months now.
*The parking lot needs to be repainted (I have poor night vision, OK 🤣).
*The pool is empty but nothing useful is being done with the space.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST

*The toilets in the women’s bathroom barely flush.

For the love of all that’s holy Gold’s please fix the toilets!

The end.

Husband and I are both veterans and signed up with a military discount - we received that rate for the first month only. Front desk staff are rarely present to handle admin issues and no one answers the phone. Used to go a Gold’s in Austin pre-pandemic when they still had a pools open, it was a better value then. Literally anyone could walk in to this location with or without a membership… adding insult to injury, the “manage membership” option on their app does not let you terminate your membership online. We wish they were better, but they have a long list of things to improve on.

I originally had an amazing experience at golds gym and was set up with a great trainer. Unfortunately, I’m now my credit is being damaged because of the auto-payments and lack of accessibility regarding canceling a membership, even after calling and being told by an employee it was now cancelled. I was charged for 5 months after i stopped going and now debt collectors are harassing me. Predatory behavior for a gym. Absolutely organized this way. Wish I could leave less than 1 star.

Last visit it seems they’ve returned to way too loud music. 95% of your patrons are wearing headphones. They don’t want to hear your music. When you make it loud they have to listen to their headphones at levels that cause hearing damage. By not respecting your customers wishes you’re intentionally making an environment that people do not want to be in and are attempting to shield themselves from.

Additionally as I’ve had been visiting this for the past year and a half I’ve found they have more excuses than solutions for maintenance issues. Sure, COVID made it hard to get parts. But having a machine down for >6 months is unacceptable. Buy a new machine and put the old one in service / storage. We pay our whole dues every 30 days, you should continue to provide the whole gym value we signed up for.

I was a member of Golds Gym for years and had a good experience at the facility itself until I had to cancel my membership due to relocation to another city. Upon canceling my membership, my account was continously billed monthly for over a year and I was not under any contractual agreement to warrant the continued billing. When I called to discuss the over billing Iwith management I was treated very poorly and was told there was a misstep when I previously canceled my membership. Golds management then requested that I drive 3 hours to the Pflugerville location to cancel my membership again in person. After disclosing that this was not possible I was then given an email option which I accepted and did immediately. 24 hours upon sending my email, I received a confirmation that my request for cancelation had been recieved and that I would continue to be billed for the following month versus being reimbursed for the previous 14 months of over billing. I was simply told that there was nothing they would do or could do which is very hard to believe. As a Vice President of a publicly traded company, I have never treated a customer this way nor an employee or team member. The business practices of how Golds Gym treats members needs to be reevaluated and go from a business model of catering to your customer versus stealing from them. Golds Gym is very quick to sign you up with a smile and collect their fees from you but whenever you cancel your membership you will be met with the complete opposite response and they will find every way possible to continue to bill you under the false pretenses that their is nothing they can do. Truly sad

My husband & I have been members at this gym for over 5 years. I’ve been very frustrated and disappointed with the management and staff communication at this gym. We’ve had reoccurring problems with our membership and billing, all of which have led to us getting a letter from claims. We have never missed a payment for our memberships and every time I have spoken to the general manager, a manger or even a front desk member about this issue I’ve been reassured that everything is good on Golds Gym end and that we do not have an outstanding balance.

It’s hard to even get ahold of someone who can actually help resolve the issue (this issue has been on and off for over 3+ years with us). We are regular members and not once has a member said anything to us when we check in at the front to let us know if there is an issue with our membership.

Needless to say, dissatisfied is just one word I will use to describe the management at this gym. Will be looking for another gym to utilize in the near future since clearly Golds Gym just wants to take your money.

Gym is in great location and most of staff are very nice. My biggest issue is every time something breaks, instead of fixing the equipment it is just removed from the floor. For example, the middle of the year there was 6 exercise bikes. 3 broke and never repaired and put back so now just 3. If cannot get parts, then need to invest in purchasing new bikes as this hurts the customer experience.

05/22/23 - again bikes are an issue. 3 stationary bikes and two broken and been multiple weeks even after bringing it up to management and then saying they are all over getting fixed. What we pay for fees we should have access to multiple stationary bikes as very disruptive when go to the gym to ride the bike and someone on it and can’t ride. There needs to be a quicker turnaround to get equipment fixed more timely.

I'm disappointed with the overcrowding at the gym during weekdays (Monday to Thursday) where nearly 90% of the floor space is consistently occupied. It's frustrating to see prices increase for classes when that's optional at most other gyms. Especially when essential services like daycare are still not provided for. And if a worker brings his bleach mop bucket right by my head while I'm lifting again, imma cuss him out. I got dizzy while lifting heavy weight.

Do not sign up here. They ignore email cancelations for weeks and then try to charge you for an extra month of membership AND bs overdue fees after you finally cancel. There's plenty of other good gyms nearby to spend your money at that won't scam you with fees! The owner and manager both lie and dodge emails to keep collecting membership fees.

Went for a demo visit and signed up on the spot. Didn't seem like a lot of meat head gym culture, everyone just getting a great workout in and enjoying themselves earning some sweet sweat equity.

One bummer was the pool being drained, but that's okay for me as swimming sucks anyways. :)

UPDATE: Been attending about 2x per week since my initial review and still love it. I've done everyday of the week and never had to wait on equipment. Everyone seems really focused on getting in, working hard, and getting on with it.

Update 2: I've started coming in the mornings to make sure that the time is there to workout. The gym is great in the mornings! Everything is well placed and tidy (as you'd expect)

Update 3: Google keeps wanting updates, you'd think I worked for them. Anywho. Staff has continued to be amazing. I've had issues upgrading my membership and they've been nothing but accommodating.

He wanted me to do the math instead of just giving me a direct answer over the phone and got upset when I asked for the price of 3 days. It would’ve been better going to Pflugerville Gold’s since it’s next to my aunts house but the guy was so rude I ended up going to North Round rock Gold’s, they were extremely nice and didn’t mind answering questions. Good location, cleanest gym I've ever been in, plenty of equipment, a lot to like, but I want to talk about one of the trainers, Meagan McCorvey. From the moment we first met Meagan not only showed genuine interest in my fitness goals, but also addressed how we were going to achieve my goals in a personalized way. In other words, Meagan did not have a one-size-fits-all approach. My training was designed specifically for me and my goals. Meagan dug deep and asked me all kinds of questions about my life and goals not only in the gym, but in life. We talked about my short-term goals, long-term goals, daily schedule, family, diet, stress level, sleep habits, and even hobbies. Meagan wanted to understand me as a person to help design a program for me that works. I was, and still am, impressed...and meeting my goals.‍ So, looking for a top notch trainer? Ask for Meagan.
