Creepy black trainer named Nate won’t leave me alone always comes right up to me and stares at me awkwardly while I’m working out I give him dirty looks and ignore him since he comes up and try’s to flirt with me but he obviously doesn’t take a hint he contacted my personal number asking when I was free after that I now don’t feel comfortable going to the gym anymore unless I’m on videochat with my husband the girls section is way to small to workout in I’m thinking about just switching my membership back to trufit

It’s a decent place and it gets the job done, but nothing to write home about. Equipment is left all over the place and there’s no real effort to clean it up. The dumbbells are so out of order that it’s disorienting. I cut myself on one of the machines and the front desk didn’t have any band aids. With a few improvements this could be a great place to workout.

It's a pretty average gym but probably below average amongst the rest of the gold's gyms in the valley.
Parking lot barely has any lighting and feels somewhat unsafe.
Equipment is decent enough but could use some improvements. I've been noticing small improvements over the last few months.
Over all there are better gyms to go to but this one is good enough.

Update: They've fixed the parking lot lighting. It looks like they're trying to make improvements but still feels lackluster. The gym most of the time is incredibly humid, uncomfortably humid. I get that we're there to exercise but if I want a sauna I'll go to one for that. AC still constantly leaks. Nasty men's room. Nice staff though! But you're not getting your money's worth. I'll probably only keep this membership for the leg workout area but that's it, not my main gym anymore. If I wasn't paying a discounted rate I would definitely cancel this membership.

Horrible policies they now how to rob people very well!! after attempting to cancel for over year they told me sure just wait for it to end the year becuz you will pay a fee if you cancel now. So I waited it out and continue paying without using ever their service, after a year they still continued to charge monthly plus fees becuz i apparently have an automatic renewal policy that they didn’t say when I attempted to cancel from the very beginning. They know how to do it so u never stop paying them, I tried to cancel again today and now I gotta pay over $200 to cancel due to 3 months past the contract year plus fees. And the worst part was their suppose manager there stated they got tons of people there just paying and not ever stepping the gym. Horrible horrible place!!

I consider this gym one of the better Gold's in the valley. They have made major improvements with the new renovations. They have added new squat racks, leg machines, upper body and back machines as well as new treadmills. I think this is also one of the more cleaner Gold's I have been to. I highly recommend this location. It's not overly crowded and plenty of space to move around. I think they are moving in the right direction.

For a place that charges an arm and a leg, it sure is in terrible condition. Half the machines are busted in some way, shape, or form. Most of the cable machines get stuck during use because the wires are bare and there is ZERO knurling on any of the attachments. Benches are all torn and bars are rusted beyond belief. Free weight section is TINY, max the area is 8x10. The only redeeming quality is the cardio machines work and the staff is cool. Kind of makes you wonder where all the money you pay is going. Probably into the owners pocket because it sure isn't into the gym. Your honeslty better off going to another gym and paying half with more locations and newer gyms.

It’s a great gym but how management staff treats the employees is horrible. I was looking forward to getting some personal training but the let go of the one trainer I found who understood the needs I wanted was a bummer I asked for help and he was spot on with it. Very disappointed in my experience at the Pharr location. When my friend and I signed up we explained to the staff we were looking for the no commitment / cancel anytime package since we are traveling health care workers. They signed us up with what we thought would be an easy to navigate package. The worker there told us to cancel by October 28 and you would not be charged the annual fee and that would be the last billed month (October). Well we did that and the manager refused to waive the annual fee and the November fee or said we would have to choose one or the other to pay. We explained what the front desk worker had told us and she didn’t seem to care at all saying there is nothing she can do which I find hard to believe. Both my friend and I are in the healthcare industry and working for free at a local hospital and wanted to have a place to go and relieve our stress. This whole experience ended up adding a lot more stress and money that we had wanted to commit to due to false promises. Overall I am very disappointed in how I was treated .

Got here to workout from Minnesota, truck driver, people start complaining about my truck taking 8 spots because they have to walk from the parking lot to the door, bought 50 dollars in clothing plus 30 dollars day pass for me and my wife, so I did spent 90 dollars for the day, grap my stuff and leave, not coming back, thank you

The womens section is too small compared to other locations. I am not satisfied since the other locations also have more machines inside the womens section than the pharr location does. I believe that they should have the same because I am paying the same amount as those from the other locations. They should let us as customers use the other locations without a monthly charge, it seems like the company gives priority to other cities.

Just visiting the area and needed a gym for a couple of days. The gym has All you could ask for for a great work out. Service was absolutely brilliant. The young lady on the reception desk was pleasant chatty and gave me a deal on a day pass. While training one of the PT noticed I was looking for a incline bench. Within minutes hunted one out from another area of the gym and bought it to me. Well done golds, great experience. 👍👍👍

Love using their pool, but theres 2 things they should do. 1)put flags overhead to tell swimmers they are near the edges on both sides so we dont swim into the walls when we reach the end. 2)designate the pool in half, half for slow swimmers, half for fast swimmers assuming the pool is full to avoid future problems between customers.

I would like to make a complain of a staff member in Golds Gym Mission Tx. Since the manager in Mission Tx doesn't improve customer service and hasn't done anything in regards to the unprofessional staff it currently has, thought it would be better to complain to a different manager. There's this staff member in Mission Tx with short brown hair and is usually in the entrance. I have had several bad experiences with this Golds Gym staff member but hadn't made a complain before. I don't know her neither her name but she always stares at me, rolls her eyes at me when I get to the gym. She never says at least good afternoon. She doesn't have any manners. She is always on her cell phone and gossiping with other staff about customers. I have several friends at the gym and they told me that she tríes to flirt with them and that it is very uncomfortable. I do expect for her to be terminated. I would also like to make a formal complain because this type of behaviour shouldn't be tolerated.

I've been a member since mid-2018, shortly after I got out of the hospital. Once cleared for exercise, I started with both walking and lifting. At 60 years old, I'm not going after world's records, but the changes have been pretty damn amazing. I've dropped 40 lbs, probably 10 lbs. of muscle, moved down 1.5" of shirt neck size and am probably stronger than I have been my entire life- my arms are AMAZING! My glucose has gone from about 118 to 100 and is on the way down from there. Resting pulse rate down to 60BPM. I feel GREAT. Usually on the treadmill by 6am 4 days a week- if I feel sorry for myself getting up at 5 I just think to how many people were already there when I arrived and I'm pretty well cured. Get a trainer to show you around so you don't get hurt and maximize your results. Great facility, customers, staff. 5 stars.

I've been going to that gym for over 7 years. B ck when the staff in there was amazing. When everyone made you feel part of the family. Management is a joke now. Rude people as employees. Specially that little girl that works as "manager" named KIM always in her office on her phone. Isn't polite. I've honestly have never seen her smile once. General namager named LESLIE is more concerned about a little bit of chalk being spilled on the floor instead of being concerned for their customers safety by bolting down the dead lift pad that separates every time you do a power clean. My fiancé almost messed up his knee with that and the GM did nothing. Air vents are FULL of dirt. They haven't been cleaned in years. The floors are uneven. Someone is going to get hurt in that gym.

Management should be restructured, Kim is nothing but rude & the general manager neglects exposed nails in saunas, the gyms filthy ventilation, broken equipment, nonfunctional treadmills and stairmasters. They both consistently fail to address the issues of its gym members. Put in place management that takes care of business, not managers that spend 80% of their time in offices. I seriously love golds gym and is the only gym I like here in the valley. From all the golds here in the Vally this one in particular I do not like. It made me not want to go back, and I will not go back. Rude staff, equipment that needs to be replaced. I almost hurt my self and when i let them know about what happened and that they really need to do something about it because it is a hazard. They rudely told me that they couldn’t. Went in for a trial membership to check out the gym. Keep in mind it's my first visit here. I wasnt properly given a tour of the gym nor was I given rules to follow. The facility its self is well kepted and for the most part the gym equipment is functional. I had an issue with a worker by the name of Kim, I had asked her where I could find bikes and she sighed and pointed up stairs and walked away. Later I approached her to ask advice on something and she said you arent a member here so I cant help you, i polilty said thanks and walked away. As I sit on the ground getting read for some dead lifts she approaches me and asks me to leave because I was using chalks. She saw me taking off my callus with a special tool and mistook it for chalk I tried to explain but she just used the excuse well doesnt matter you arent a member. I'm definitely not gonna get a membership at a place that doesnt take care of visits. Poor managment. So I go to pharr crunch where they treat everyone with a smile and half the price with a better facility.

Now in my eyes they see it as “they need me, I don’t need them” right? Well I finally found a trainer that’s doesnt see it that way and his name is Randy Escobar. He has put the WORK in workout! What I like about him is that when you workout with him it’s all about you and what you need help with. Everyday it’s always something different never the same like most trainers that every Monday, Tuesday and so on are the same thing. So if you are looking for a damn good trainer go with mine because you won’t regret it!!

I met Randy Escobar a few months ago through a mutual fitness brand that we both like to represent and I experienced his personal training first hand. I always like to take away as much as information as I can when meeting those who are very knowledgeable in the fitness world, and Randy was able to teach me a lot in a short amount of time. In my experience, one of the cleanest Golds in the area, but there seem to always be problems with the saunas that management struggles to fix. Now it's badly in need of new personnel. Get rid of kim. And machines have been broken for 5 weeks and you don't get any response from the office. Several treadmills and a few bikes do not work. Ive been training with Alex for a couple of months, the impact on my life has been amazing. Not only am I seeing positive changes in my body, but his great personality has helped trigger my focus on my workouts, and utilize the gym as an outlet to help deal with anxiety. His attention to detail when training has taught me more in these few weeks than the past two years since I started my fitness journey. I moved further from the pharr gym but am willing to make the drive because of great people like him at this gym.

The customer service is horrible and for the price they charge they have little concern for the environment and current clients that have questions. They don't care after they lock you into a contract! Their equipment as well is hardly available and in worn out condition; that is if you find any and if you have enough space to get a good workout in. Their classes are not steady and the shower area is easy to slip on as well as the steam room; which is hardly working is in bad condition. Don't waste your money or time!
