This gym is closed, it shouldnβt be up on google maps stating itβs open. Never got to try it but it looked decent. Gym closed May 8, 2020

Need to update the new schedule in the webpage and on your socials.
Update:
This gym has permanently closed. I enrolled back a week before it closed. One day I stepped in and just saw a paper posted in the door. No phone call, no email. Nothing.
Iβve been trying to cancel. Sent the requested documents for via email. And itβs been almost 2 months and no answer. And they keep charging my credit card.

Expect a fight when trying to close your account. Super disappointing to realize you are dealing with crooks.
They auto-renewed me for a nonrefundable full year even though (1) their own contract (which they won't give you unless demanded through your credit card company) states that the membership should have auto-terminated, and (2) the gym's General Manager emailed me beforehand stating that he would put my contract on hold or cancel it while he researched membership terms. The local GM has not returned multiple emails since I complained that the charge had been posted to my account. Not surprisingly, however, Gold's corporate office suddenly became very responsive when I tried to fight the charges on my card. I'm sure the dispute will take months to resolve.
The reps do not understand their own membership rules and do not follow through on written commitments.

Overall this a small but good gym. A few things to be aware of though. As of 5/18/20 they are not allowing gym/fitness bags. Their water fountains are not available so bring your own bottle water. The locker rooms are closed, but the restrooms are open. Also bring your own hand towel. Hope this helps.

They tend to overcharge and don't let you end the membership without paying a lot of money. I got injured in the gym and they still didnt let me cancel my membership for 4 months. They also did not assist me in my injury. Never going to Gold's Gym again.

Love, Love, Love Vinny! He is so friendly and helpful.
I work DT, so it's very convenient for me. I love that it's a very personal gym as in small because everyone there means business. No one bothers me and people actually let me workout without feeling like im being watched. Been at Golds Gym Travis for about a year and I TRULY LOVE IT!

For a well known chain for gyms itβs not the best. It hasnβt been very well maintained and if you want to lift weights (free weights) then the choice is limited. A refresh of the building and equipment would not go a miss. Itβs not cheap either so take that into account.

This Golds Gym is definitely lacking in many areas, though it night be your best bet in the immediate downtown San Antonio area.
Machines are in various states of disrepair - most of the weight training equipment is fine, but the cardio equipment is aging poorly.
Cleanliness here is adequate, but definitely not great. I wouldnβt trust it enough to use the showers.
Also had my glass water bottle stolen here - an entirely apathetic staff didnβt seem to care much and said something to the affect of βYeah, this kind of thing happens a lot, especially if itβs a nice water bottle.β Well...maybe a more caring and vigilant staff could patrol that a bit better as to not drive away clients. Especially in a less than ideal gym.

The hours are terrible here and this gym is cramped/half of the cardio equipment is always broken. The hours work if you strictly want to use this gym as a place to workout during work but, other than that, it's the worst Gold's Gym location in San Antonio - hands down. On top of all of that, I have been trying to cancel my membership for almost 7 months now. I have filled out three cancellation forms, 2 of which were lost and the other was "incorrectly run" by the management. Gold's had continued to charge me, after I have called them repeatedly every two weeks and been assured every time that my membership would be cancelled. The management is never available for assistance when I call, no matter what time I call so I'm always stuck with an employee that can't do anything assuring me that they will sort it out. I have had to put a merchant block on Gold's Gym. They're in gross violation of the agreement I signed with them. I have been trying to cancel since before November and I just got off the phone with them this morning because now that I have a merchant block, I just get repeated automated calls and emails telling me my account is overdue. Also, every time I call, the employee informs me that there is STILL nothing on my file indicating that I have been trying to cancel or that ANYTHING is being process.

I saw another post already about it. But I went in for one day during a travel assignment. I had never been to a golds gym prior and wanted to try the place out since I was in the area. The front desk told me it would be 15USD plus tax. Seriously?!?! For an hour workout what a joke. Wouldnβt even let me know if there were deals or a way around the 15 bucks. Needless to say I turned around and would not waste my money. At least Snap and Anytime lets you do free trials or 5 dollar day passes....

Staying in town for business. Needed to find a Gym. Almost $17 for a day pass. My work out session will only be 60-90 minutes, not the whole day. So for 5 days that is almost $85 plus tax. I don't need the shower, the sauna, the towels or training. I just need to deadlift and squat, but not for $85. Deadlift is life, deadlift is not $85.

They lied about me being in a contract. When I signed up we were told Golds gym didn't do contract anymore. Upon trying to cancel they said your in a contract. Now they steal my money every month. I have sent a email to customer care and no response. There District manger was going to call a week ago and didn't. I just want a refund and let go. This has taken more work then needed. So I had to add Shane Billings attempt to not care about his employees lie to get members. Shane I told your contract is wrong and I have a witness that was with upon signing up.

The gym itself is okay but the service is horrible. But my husband and I were lied too about a gym membership. We went in and at the front desk, there was a employee name Lucia or something in that area and she said oh yeah we have a special - $0 down! We thought it was great so my husband continue to pursue a membership. I chose not too because we had issues with Golds Gym in Converse on Pat Booker where they lied about ending our contract and was charging us for 3 months. So I asked Lucia more than once, is this a contract because we don't want it. She lied to us over and over again. So we left thinking we had a deal paying month to month. 4 months later we got a membership at the Y and wanted to inform Gold's Gym that we were leaving and they said we had a contract. So I called the office spoke with John Moses, operational manager explained my frustration and he said he would contact Shane Billy, his GM and call me back the next day. Here it is a week later and no phone call but they definitely charged our card. GOLD'S GYM is only here to take your money. It's unbelievable.

Updated 3.26.17, reduced to 1 star. I'd give negative stars if i could. Google says to be objective so i wont air all their dirty laundry.
Cons: no sauna, horrible hours, expensive compared to what is offered, cancelation policy is horrible, parking is by neighboring hotel's valet, staff doesnt stop the morons from dropping weights on the ground. If they cant put the weights down without dropping them from hip-height then they shouldnt be picking them up.
They say to contact CustomerCare online or by Phone, but they wont help. They say they can help, but they tell you to go in-person to talk with a manager during special hours, they wont take cancelations in-person (with a sales representative) or over the phone, and to top-it-off they charge an extra month, i guess that extra month is ensure that you never go back to their gym.
Pro: Good location

The gym is very limited, weird hours, no sauna, no pool, 1 squat rack, 1 bench press, few cables overall this gym S***k. Sometimes I find it hard to believe it was a Ruby level. Management not willing to work with you on wanting to make payment just a few hours later by lunch time. So they keep charging late fees on the same day it's due. What's up with that? Also note I've noticed their are more gyms in the downtown location. Just look on Google map and type (gym)

Different kind of setup, as they had to get it into an old downtown building. No wet or dry sauna. No swimming. No need to bring a padlock for the locker room as they have numbered locks on them. A bit cramped space, but I was there at 6pm. Perfect place for a workout if you're staying near the Riverwalk.

I am surprised by the ratings, it barely gets one star from me. This is one of the worst operated Gold's Gym acquired from Sepctrum. The management consistently skimps on supplies and appears to delay making repairs when things breakdown. They had no towels last week due to broken equipment. You would think you get a courtesy notice, but the reality is I had to inquire why there were no available towels to learn of the breakdown of equipment. I keep using this location because I work downtown and have limited options. I ratonalize my membership cost because I also use the Medical Center and Austin Highway locations which are by far better managed.
