They recently closed the cycling studio.. I prefer to cycle in the dark rather than out in the open with light. But hey maybe they will lower the bill now that it’s not available 👀 They only open it for the cycling classes that I refuse to partake in because c’mon who needs a class to learn how to pedal.. in place.. by yourself.. to burn calories.. Scanner only works in the morning but not in the evening. Maybe night crew are players and just want our numbers. Who knows? As for the atmosphere, it’s great.

It's kinda small but effective, I went around 9:30, it was not to busy everyone had enough room to spread out it felt safe, there were some hard core ppl working out it really makes you feel energetic like you just want to push yourself to look as good as them, I will probably go again soon.

If you need to go to a gym that opens up on time so you can go to work after, then I suggest choosing another gym. I made a mistake on coming here thinking they be open at 5am. The gym over all is OK. But if you are someone that likes to work out 1st thing in the morning it really is a gamble showing up at 5 o'clock because sometimes the employee doesn't open at 5 o'clock she show up I guess whenever she wants. And if you're on a timeframe like myself it really is an inconvenience. I don't believe complaining will make a difference but a rating will do i guess

This place is a joke and the business is morally ambiguous. When you try to cancel (Due to very unfortunate personal matter) the forms required are magically locked in an office until Monday and they will continue to charge your account. No customer service or empathy. The Asst General MGR was flippant and by the way, the place is horribly dirty and a health hazard. When you inform the staff, they were all chilling on their cell phones, the default answer is that the cleaning staff doesn't come in to clean until the evening. Save your money, get a Planet Fitness membership for $10 bucks with no contract and you Will enjoy a better gym

I usually go to the Golds on goliad but this was closer. NEVER coming here again!! I never felt so gross walking into a gym locker. Dust and dirt everywhere, sauna was litered with empty water bottles, used paper tissues, and trash. It wasn't even hot! I told some buff jar head staff that it needed to be clean but he said they were short staff. Which is funny because when I came in there were two staff at the front SITTING ON THE FRONT DESK COUNTER on their phones. So he didn't clean it. The showers have dried chunky soap and sum in the corners. There's hair and discarded bottles in the shower stalls. The toilets are all unsanitary. Urine and feces CAKED around the rim and the urinals are no better. Extremely disgusting! If I get an infection from walking around barefoot in these lockers I'm SUING!

This gym is dated and needs a lot of love, however it’s a great atmosphere and everyone is friendly. They have a great set up with the cardio up front and weights in the back so everyone is not on top of each other since this facility is not that large. With some improvements I feel this could easily be one of the best gyms in town. However it’s been like this for years and I doubt that management cares about updating.

This place has got you covered when it comes to working out. They also have a sauna too which most gyms don’t really offer. The only con I would say about Golds is that the price is pretty expensive, sometimes when you need to speak with management they can be a little cocky or rude. (They’re always changing managers)

My husband is a contract worker and will be staying in San Antonio for 1.5 months. Called this gym as we have had past positive interactions with other gold's gym locations for temporary membership when staying somewhere briefly. There are no options with the management currently at this gym. Online, gold's policy is that it is up to each location of how to handle offering temporary membership. Staying in shape is important to both of us when on the road, but apparently, roping people into long term contracts is all that this gym manager cares about. If you care about fitness and health, join a different gym or different gold's location with more customer and fitness/health centered management.

I really like this location because I've gotten to know some of the staff and many of the regulars there. It is small, but I don't mind it. One MAJOR draw back is the treadmills are in TERRIBLE condition. Half are being serviced or broken and been like that for so long that dust is collecting on them. Many have been broken for a month with no repair. The treadmills that do "work" will skip or suddenly shut off and you have to restart your work out, the older ones without a screen have lights on the numbers going out and you can't tell your time or distance. I go to a different location for cardio which is a big inconvenience especially since my husband and I pay a full membership for this kind of crappy equipment. None of the staff seems to have an ETA on the repairs either. Cardio section is pathetic and they need new leg press and leg curl machine. Leg press is all rusted and doesn't lock properly and the roll on leg curl is bent so the weight isn't even distributed.

I would like to let everyone know, that in this Gold’s gym at Zarzamora and military. The staff has been extremely helpful. I see the staff repeatedly making rounds throughout the gym to pick up all the dumbbells, weight plates, and the accessories located by the rope resistance machines and placing them back where they're suppose to be at. I have to give the staff of this Gold's gym, a great applause. However, I would like to mentioned, to all the people reading this, please pick up after yourself, treat this gym as you would your own house and remember that picking up weights every hour is not that fun. Other than this, the staff has also been cleaning up the restroom more frequently than ever. I am very happy with the great team effort the staff at gold’s gym and their management team has put to improved the facility and ensure a gold standard. Great job all!!
