The management and staff are incredibly helpful and take time to remember your name. Small thing to do, but the small things make big impacts! My whole family is overweight. Myself included. I was excited to join Gymbox because they allowed my 14 yr old son to go with me. The problem is they have certain hours that allow guests to come!!! I didn’t notice this until after I signed up and read it on a sign they had taped up. When I called to cancel they said it was $100 fee! My family members are self conscience and are new to working out so I was going to train them when the gym wasn’t full. Unfortunately this wasn’t possible

So definitely READ THE FINE PRINT. I didn’t know I had signed up for a year commitment and I didn’t know I couldn’t bring guests during certain hours. I can’t completely blame the staff for my ignorance but before you sign up KNOW WHAT YOU’RE COMMITTING TO.

I’ve been going to GymBox for over a year. I’ve enjoyed it a lot, and I will say any issues I’ve ever had, the owner has made it right everytime. He’s a super nice and understanding guy, and I appreciate customer service more than anything nowadays. I most certainly will be returning to GymBox when/if I move back to town. <3

I paid Almost one year without going to gym !because it’s one year contract which is fine to me ! After that they auto renew the contract and get $97 dollars to my account! said cannot be refunded because it’s already made up before I cancel the contract .

This gym offers outstanding facilities and activities, whilst also offering very fair membership fees and terms.

In my experience of almost 3 months of coming here, the vast majority of people have been respectful and considerate.

I've made a couple mates since coming here and would highly recommend this gym if you're looking around.

After much searching and hassle from other places in Texarkana I stumbled onto Gymbox which is locally owned. I highly recommend these guys for your fitness needs if you’re local to Texarkana or just visiting as I am. Easy temp signup and reasonable fees for the visitor or permanent membership. I didn't have time to practice so I canceled the contract after 1 year. When I came to make the contract and the gym staff told me that after the 1 year period I could cancel whenever I wanted and only get money each month, they didn't tell me that they would get money to renew for the year. next. and after 1 year I went there twice to cancel and not renew and I sent a message to the owner of the gym and they didn't reply and so they took the money for the next month and the renewal so I Only after the 3rd time to talk to them did they talk and answer my email. It's a big business but their way of working is so bad and not clear to customers.

When St. Michael’s Gym shut down, I knew my parents were thinking that Gym Box was closer to where we lived and affordable for VIP Membership so I could access the studio and equipment free for my Zumba Dance Classes when I joined on my 24th birthday in August 2020! Dana and Kate, my first Zumba Teachers besides Tricia were the best at helping girls of shapes and sizes lose weight and give positive vibes of healthy eating and drinking water every week. Now Tricia is holding the Zumba fort down and wants to whip the girls into summer body shape.

I moved back to California, and i contacted them to cancel my membership, and they agreed if i could show them the proof of moving, which i did, but it turned out they still haven’t canceled my membership, and keep charging me for which i am not using. Beware, they are scam, they will try to charge you as much as possible even if it’s their fault. If they don’t fix this problem, i will keep rating 1 star every day.

This location is the best gym I’ve ever used ! It’s like the chic-fil-la of gym’s . The people that work there are awesome I mean that ! They actually look like they enjoy they jobs 🙂. Which is rare these days I’m usually disappointed by terrible customer service most places I go to . But not here ! And another thing I like is how clean it is there . It’s spotless even the restrooms are always clean and shiny. And on top of all this ! They membership fees are so cheap ! You can’t go wrong here !

Absolutely predatory gym. Signed up on the first day under a month-to-month membership in-person, with no 12 month commitment, but somehow was added to a 12 month commitment without my permission. Best gym l highly recommend, they remember my name when I walk in the door. A staff member is always upfront to greet me when I walk in. It comes with so many perks like the hydroboost chair which I love ! It’s like a full massage plus tanning. Gymbox has tons of equipment and very spacious. Very clean with a great locker room for women with showers and great counter space to get ready after your work out so you can get ready before work. Tons of treadmill‘s with Top technology which is my go to. I am a VIP member which I definitely recommend. If you think about it with all your expenses by time you pay for a gym membership you pay for your massages and you pay for your tanning membership if you add all that up just being a VIP member at gym box is just under $40 so you’re saving tons of money and getting all these perks just by being a gym box VIP! so I definitely highly recommend . it’s the gym to be at! 5 stars because I know they're going to delete this review. In reality they probably deserve 2 or 3.
GymBox served it purpose, but it was nothing extraordinary. Its a basic gym with a picture-worthy locker room at best. Management is ruining the gym's reputation. I see why there are only two locations in the entire country.
Here's more:
🚫not enough equipment for busy hours of the day
🚫equipment stays broken for weeks
🚫 The owner is dismissive of concerns.
🚫 No sauna. Really?
🚫 employees kinda ran like a cult
I don't recommend if you're any bit of serious about your training.

Do I really need to continue?

Basically what I'm saying is don't waste your time or money on that gym if you take your training any bit of serious.

I really enjoy going to GymBox. I have never really been into fitness until this January and I got a membership in March and have steadily gone 3-4 days a week since then. I love it here and the staff are so friendly and encouraging. I loooove the hydro massage beds. And they have so much workout equipment I’m pretty sure they have everything you could need. There was a mix up in the system with my payment and they fixed it immediately and even tried to make it right. I cannot say enough good things about the community that is this gym.

I have been experienced many fitness clubs in my continued quest to live a healthy lifestyle and I have to say GYMBOX is on of the top clubs I have had the privilege of experiencing. My husband has been trying to cancel his gym membership for MONTHS!! He is well past the 12 month contract. We have called, sent emails to the “manager” as they have instructed us to do, they have said they are leaving “notes to the manager” to cancel, etc. and that it’s taken care of.

Yet every month, we are still charged. We have moved over 5 hours away and so can’t even access the gym. It’s frustrating. So have to agree with other reviewers on here, poor cancellation processes.

Read the fine print of your contract, it’s extremely parasitic. If you need to cancel early you’ll have to jump through multiple hoops. Cancellation fee, contract termination fee, and as a cherry on top they charge you NEXT MONTHS BILL after canceling for no apparent reason... poor business practices, also needs to make it more apparent that you’re in an annual contract bc that is not anywhere on the website advertisement.

Awesome GYM! I travel around the country and go to the closest gym to my hotel. This one is by far the best maintained of them all. The bathroom is clean and does not smell like a nasty locker room. weights are organized and not scattered about the place like many of the gyms I have been to. The equipment is in good condition and they have everything needed for a killer workout. The staff is very nice and welcoming to everyone. I managed to to get a 24 hour pass for around 11 bucks which allowed me to go 2 days in a row! The best part is that there is a Chipotle 100 yards away for a post workout meal.!

ONCE I WAS MADE AWARE AND THE GYM INFACT DOES HOLD THE HEALTH OF THEIR MEMBERS CLOSE I FELT THE NEED TO EXPRESS THAT. In the beginning it was great and if you are healthy it will be great, but after an injury from a previous injury was worsened this past March. The only reason I joined was a trainer that was studying to be a physical therapist but contractored company fired her a month into the contract and it took over a month to get a replacement we still had to pay for a trainer that was not there and no other trainer was studying or instealed the confidence needed to continue. My knee hurts so badly and with the added medical bills I just can not afford not to invest in my medical care. THEY NOW HAVE TWO TRAINERS WITH A PHYSICAL THERAPY BACKGROUND.

I've reported a broken piece of equipment multiple times, with no result of it being fixed. on 7/2/19 I walked up to the manager David, and asked him if he was going to fix the hamstring curl machine, again. David looked at me and sternly said "No." I looked at him and shook my head and walked away. About 10 minutes later I noticed an older gentleman with a GymBox shirt on and asked if he was the owner. He told me he was and I relayed the same information to him as I did to David and mentioned that David told me he will not be getting it fixed. I didn't catch the owners name, but he replied "We'll see about that." On 7/3/19 between the times of 10:30AM and 1:00PM I was in GymBox working out, Saw David multiple times and nothing was said to me. I leave the gym, David follows me all the way to 5 Star Nutrition and confronts me about what I said to his "partner", proceeds to call me a snitch and tells me the leg curl machine is in fact fixed, it's just grease loaded. if the machine was fixed, People wouldn't be having the same issues I'm having. The fact that the machine hasn't be locked out or repaired is huge safety risk and could cause injury, I assumed safety was the most important factor in a gym setting. If David had a problem with what I said, he shouldn't have followed me to another business to confront me. I was trying to purchase supplements and was rudely interrupted by him so he could fulfill his agenda. I am cancelling my membership due to this unprofessionalism and unsafe equipment.

This is a spacious gym with some great equipment. I travel all over for work and can call multiple gyms home nation wide, but Gym Box Texarkana is most definitely my favorite. The facility is modern and is kept spotless throughout the day. There are plenty of weights organized efficiently in a space separate from dozens of state of the art cardio machines. Aside from the cleanliness, nice equipment, and solid layout, the staff is also very friendly and are able to answer ANY questions. I would recommend this gym to gym seekers of any level or with any fitness goal.

My boyfriend and I are both Active Duty Air Force. We were stationed at Tyndall AFB in Florida, but due to Hurricane Michael, our base was destroyed and we were put on evacuation orders and told to report to our home address. We reported to my home address temporarily and the owner of Gym Box (a prior service member himself) went above and beyond to accommodate us during this awkward between base transition we are facing. Came in and the first person I seen seemed to be busy on her phone then asked me how can I help you after she was done. Following went to the men's locker room and smelled terrible, after proceeded to do my workout and noticed the employees having conversation with a memeber but the conversation carried on for twenty min. Local management is pleasant and approachable. Broken exercise equipment and audio/visual equipment takes FAR too long to repair. There was some improvement in the cleanliness of the lockerroom but that has declined over the past 30 days.

The checking account deduction IS NOT customer friendly and an annoyance when a company can unilaterally debit your account for fees. A pay up front annual fee program would be much better.
