Harter Strength and Conditioning McKinney, TX, offers personal training and small group training. Our program supports all levels of individuals looking to take their fitness programs to the next level. Our training systems are designed to maximize performance and help anyone train like a professional athlete. This is great for weight loss, youth sports development, off-season training, injury prevention, and overall fitness improvement. Custom programs can be tailored to improve overall strength & conditioning, aid in weight loss or body compisition changes, or matched with a sport to aid year round deveolpment. We also work with runners to create race plans in conjuction with strength programs to create a full training system.

If you are considering Harter and are new to working out or seasoned to it, you should join because I think this may be the best. I'm the oldest I've ever been but also the strongest and that is thanks to this program.

Anthony, Danny and Maverick, are fantastic trainers. They challenged me to be better so I grew and now can do solid pushups, have better stamina, and lift heavy. :)
They are also good with showing variations of movements for different skill levels and checking on those who reported prior/current injuries.

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a gym that was more performance based training and not cross fit. I found Harter Strength and Conditioning McKinney, and they offered a free week to try the group workout classes. Cody, the owner, is very welcoming and will check in with you to make sure everything is going well.

I started with 2 - 3 classes a week; loved the structure and the commitment/ dedication of all the coaches (Anthony, Maverick & Danny) that I decided to sign up for the unlimited classes' membership. When I started, I could barely hold myself up during the stretches, and now I'm able to do regular push-ups. I've seen a huge difference in my strength and overall fitness level; it's due to the gyms' program and coaches.

I signed up for personal training with Anthony and improved greatly. He's so knowledgeable and highly motivated. He's committed to helping you achieve your goals and designs a program tailored to your specific objectives, ensuring success. I've lost weight, gained lean muscle, and learned proper techniques for improving strength. The personal training helped me be more efficient in group class workouts.

I highly recommend this gym regardless of your fitness level. The program promotes continuous growth whether you're just starting out or an athlete.

I've been at Harter for 18 months, and I love it. It's the best gym experience I've ever had. The coaching staff really know their stuff, care about form, and modify for injuries, as needed. I have been going to Harter for 1 month now. I have not worked out or lifted weights in many many years and was a bit afraid to join.

But I am glad I have committed to it and I feel this a great place to improve you fitness not mater what your level is.

- Grouo classes are fantastic even for beginners like me (I have only take LIFT class’s to date)

- Instructors are fantastic, they help get you to right form and make sure you doing things right.

- The place is clean and well kept.

I would highly recommend you try and they offer you 1 free week if you want to just give it a spin and see if this is right form you - so give it a try.

Joining Harter Strength & Conditioning has easily been the best decision I’ve made all year and the best recurring expense I have ever added to my budget. Now that I’ve been attending the group fitness classes for the past 9 weeks regularly (24 classes completed since I started with just 2 classes weekly at first before switching to unlimited classes), I wanted to leave a review to let others know that this is the place to go.

As a complete beginner who wanted to learn how to add weightlifting to my fitness routine, I was overwhelmed with where to start and unsure if I could safely follow a program without guidance on proper form. The structured program of lifting, high intensity interval training, and metabolic conditioning classes has been challenging in a really good way and so rewarding. I leave every class feeling fantastic and motivated.

For most of my life, I’ve had a lot of anxiety about stepping into the gym or exercising in front of other people as someone in a larger/morbidly obese body. Anthony, Maverick, Susan, and Cody were all immediately welcoming, encouraging, and helpful with giving options for modified movements for any exercises that were too difficult with my body weight. I’ve noticed that there are a diverse group of members with varying fitness levels, and the instructors do a great job with providing options to make the exercises either harder or easier. The other gym members have been very friendly and supportive as well, and there are often new visitors trying out the classes, as well as people at all stages in their fitness journey, so you won’t be alone.

I also love that Harter Strength & Conditioning is a small local gym where the instructors make it a point to learn everyone’s name, and it’s a smaller group of members compared to commercial group fitness gyms. I appreciate that Cody puts together a structured program that is evidenced-based and pulls from up-to-date research in the field of exercise science rather than fitness fads. I feel confident that the program will get me towards my fitness and health goals, as I’ve already seen progress in both my day-to-day movement and mobility as well as during the workouts, and I feel confident that I will receive the guidance to modify the workouts appropriately as my fitness level progresses.

In short, I highly recommend Harter Strength & Conditioning. Getting involved in their program has been the best decision I made for myself this year and incredibly rewarding!

I’ve been coming to Harter twice a week since February. Prior to joining, I had been using weight machines at a local gym for ~6 months, but outside of that I was a lifting newbie. I’ve been very happy with my experience at Harter and honestly think that joining could be one of the best decisions I’ve made this year.

The coaches are incredibly friendly and are focused on ensuring your form is correct above all else. I probably had horrendous form on just about every workout for ~3 months and they always took the time to correct me on each and every one (and without any signs of annoyance/frustration) which I really appreciated. I primarily take my classes with Anthony and he’s been really great. I’ve also taken classes with Maverick and Cody and they’ve also been great. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the trainers.

I would highly recommend that anybody that’s considering joining, join. There are also plenty of new people in each class, so you will not be the only one. Everybody I’ve interacted with in the classes have also been friendly and welcoming.

I started at Harter 7 months ago and after trying tons of gyms and fitness classes, Harter is the best. The schedule has lift, hiit and metcon so in one week I can get in a variety of workouts. The workouts are challenging in a good way and all the coaches are extremely knowledgeable and there to help you rise to the challenge. This gym is the best! I am very picky about where I go and usually stay away from group fitness because of pacing and lack of a challenge. Harter Strength does a great job of catering to everyone of all fitness levels in every class. This place is changing my life! When I first came to class I was a total couch potato and was very intimated by the idea of fitness and worried about embarrassing myself, but Harter has completely changed my perspective. The atmosphere is so welcoming and the coaches always make sure you’re doing the exercises correctly and with good form. I’ve been going here for a couple of months. I read a review below, and I agree this is not Crossfit. Which I feel is essential to call out. The program focuses on your technique and work all your muscle groups so you don’t get injured. I appreciate how Cody stops you mid-workout if you’re not doing the technique correctly. The focus is on long-term, safe, and iterative improvements. I also enjoy its balance between lifting weights and also cardio exercises.

When I started, Cody said, “My definition of fit is you can lift heavy things without hurting your back and run without losing your breath..” or something along those lines. And I have to say Cody’s delivered on that. Since I’ve been going here, I’ve been in fantastic shape. I’m hitting new PRs every month. I can quickly run a mile.

Cody is the man! As a former collegiate athlete I had constant back pain and couldn't fully enjoy what I like to do now - to play golf. The workout he put together has had wonderful results. I spend a great of time deal climbing mountains and competing in Ultra-distance races. Both require very intense physical training. I found that training at Harter Strength & Fitness. Cody took the time to understand my goals, my sport, and my current physical needs. Since training with HS&C, I have won my age group and the male Masters in 50K+ races and completed multiple Ultra-challenges.
