I had to Google what the "white film was floating on top of the pool water." Turns out it's White Water Mold, and that was in addition to the brown film I saw on the tiles. As someone who works in medicine, this is very concerning, and I will not be returning for my remaining five therapy appointments. This post is for the facility on Bitters Rd.

I have been going to physical therapy here at the Healthlink on Bitters Road and West Ave. for approximately 2 1/2 months, twice a week. I must comment on how kind, patient, understanding and above all well knowledged these people are who work here. Brian, who’s in charge of many of the staff at Physical Therapy, knows his business! He is fun to talk to and cares about all his patients . John, one of his students, just left to move on to a different location was so sweet and helpful to me. Lauren, helps me extremely well with my balance and inner ear issues…she knows her stuff! And I just met Somto, one of Brian’s other students, who knows how to help me very well with muscular strength in my legs and never misses a count on what number I am on for my routine with these exercises, lol! Thank y’all for helping me with strengthening my legs and balance!
God Bless everyone there!
Sincerely,
Lyla Belken

I had been looking for a new gym and trainer for quite a while. I am so glad a friend recommended Healthlink. I have been training with Sara Hardin since I joined. She is an excellent trainer. She is very knowledgeable and keeps a close eye to make sure you don't injure yourself. All of the staff at this facility are very friendly.

I liked the facility@288 W Bitters, along with the employees when I took therapy there. However, I do not appreciate the fact that they are horrible in doing your discharge paperwork to remove you from their facility when you ask them to. I have spoken to them four(4) times over a period of months to get it done, & it's still not done. I need it done to start much-needed therapy@ another facility that can better meet my needs, & since I fell & injured myself a little while back & all my doctors agree taking more therapies ASAP would be instrumental in my healing process, this is not good, & a very negative reflection on their facility!

It's rare to have so many positives to say about a place. Firstly the people who run this are exceptional. Friendly. Know everything. You look forward to seeing them. Secondly it's CLEAN. That's huge with any swim-based therapy. The workout machines are plentiful, well kept, and there's loads of room and options. I LOVE the pools (x3) the PT one is perfect, there's a hot-tub for warming up afterward and a larger 50 meter pool for laps or classes. Most swimming pools are super-crowded and FREEZING but these are all a good temperature which is huge for me as I get really cold easily. And they are not too crowded. I have been going now 7 weeks which is relatively short but I've seen huge gains thanks to the comfortable non competitive environment. The price is fantastic. I've had massage also and I actually look forward to attending. I am only 51 so I'm one of the younger members but you don't feel strange and it's ideal for all ages. Some of the longer-term members have been going for years. I see people who are really, really hurt and in pain, improve and gain back mobility by dedicating to exercise here. For older people it is a bit of a social club too and they have a routine that helps them be the healthiest they can, at any age. I can't recommend more highly. I am swimming x 5 a week for a frozen shoulder and not only have I received really kind suggestions and help and made friends, I've also felt stronger than I have in years by committing to this. I wouldn't have if the environment and people didn't feel welcoming and I'm so glad it's here. I hope anyone who is in pain considers this because it's head-and-shoulders above other PT places (which I have been to) and it's affordable, friendly and professional as well as clean and offering far more than most for a fraction of the price. My neighbor is a PT guy there and I've heard all the PT trainers/therapists are excellent. I can vouch for the massage and consistency as well as the cleanliness of the changing rooms and great front-desk staff. A real asset to San Antonio.

I am one of the younger members of this gym, and that's what I enjoy most. The machines are well maintained, and they let you know what parts they are waiting on if one is out of service. The rules are clearly posted, and nothing feels intimidating here. There's no loud music or TVs, weights, mats, resistance bands are thrown in disarray. There's not trash or water bottles everywhere. Just a nice, quiet gym with pools, sauna, locker rooms, etc. to get in a decent workout.

I began Physical Therapy with severe back and neck pain. After surgery I was still unable to turn my head side to side for a year and unable to walk very far without a walker for longer than that. With the diligent care of John in the pool and then, dry therapy with Ana (who is truly amazing) doing dry needling on my neck, teaching me the proper exercises and form to use out of the pool, to build the strength I need, and a LOT of hard work and doing the exercises at home, I am 95% pain free, walking, laughing again and doing the things I thought were lost to me.
I am absolutely, 100% grateful for my experience with Healthlink Physical Therapy-Bitters and highly recommend them.
BIG THANKS AND HUGS TO ANA & JOHN, Y'ALL ROCK! My sincere and everlasting thanks to both of you, for everything.

It's not completely one on one. They give you instructions and go to the next person and so on. So, you probably can skip exercises and they wouldn't know. But friendly people.

While the Gym membership is on the $$$ side, it's not crowded from noon time until closing. So, if you are looking to do anything other than a workout, this is not the place for you. They also have an olympic size pool plus a rehab area.

I found the facility at Starcrest and 410 to be very professional courteous and friendly. My therapist Cindy is a person that truly cares about helping me get back to the best I can be. It’s obvious she has a big heart for people and is not there just for the paycheck. The office staff are awesome also, could not ask for anymore.

Excellent facility that has it all....Great work out area with all the machines you will want/need. Water area is wonderful with heated pool, even warmer therapy pool, and a hot tub with powerful water jets to make your workout all worthwhile. Staff is friendly, professional, and very helpful. Personal Trainers and Massage folks available for personal attention, but the Trainers are also very helpful in assessing your needs and assisting you in getting started on your path to your individual fitness needs. They don't just show you how the machines work, but will discuss your limitations and how best to utilize the machines to assist you. Steam room also available. Showers and locker room adequate for your needs. Overall, I love this place and have been going for a few years now, off and on. Great plus, they have extended their weekday hours and are now open until 9 p.m.

I went for physical therapy and help to improve issues with my balance. The "person" that interviewed me, was very disrespectful, critical of me for using a scooter, and even that i put my eye glasses in my hair. She reviewed my medications and said I should "stop" taking Benadryl and "take Zyzal instead". As for my balance issues she said, "You move your eyes too much, that's why you fall". I attempted to explain, she interrupted me, " I know who you are and what you are, if you need a scooter, we can't help you." With that remark, she said I needed to leave. I was shocked at such an unprofessional and rude manner. Her remarks of "who and what you are". I am a retired RN.

Due to an auto accident, I still have daily pain. Regular physical therapy didn't help .much. My Dr Stuart Pipkin prescribed Aquatic Therapy at Health Link at Bitters for me.
Kacie is my main therapist and Nicole assists me as well. These two ladies are Dynamic! Feels so good doing the work out plans they set for me.
Front desk ladies for P/T are so friendly. Facility is really nice and clean. Locker room is kept too chilly for my taste since I'm wet going into and when out of the pool. So that's to be expected. Nice patients and members.
Brenda at the very front desk for the center is exceptionally helpful and kind.
Thank you.

I do chair yoga and Patty is our instructor. She is terrific. There are so many people attending that it gets too crowded and that's my complaint. I have spoken with the manager to no avail. I asked management to remive exercise equipment from the room to make more space but they refuse.

I love this facility. The staff is professional and very knowledgeable. They assess your individual needs from head to toe! I had a knee replacement a few years ago and the aqua classes are very therapeutic. Overall, my body aches and pains have subsided since using the pool and th lap swimming has open times in between classes. The gym is great too. The staff is very helpful with training on the machines.

My spouse and I have been going to this gym/health facility three times a week for years. It's keeping us younger, active, and healthy. The equipment is top notch and the personnel the best--knowledgable, friendly, helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed. The facilities are clean. Whatever level of exercise you are wanting, you will find it at HealthLink. Just bring a lock, a towel, become a member, and get to working on a better you.

Their Fitness & Wellness Center on Bitters is PERFECT! Not too crowded, tons of classes, heated pools, and massages available! I think it is so cool they do free fitness assessments for members every month! Any other gym will charge you for that service. Since they're with Baptist Health System, their personal trainers are so knowledgeable and really catered to those who do not want to workout amongst the super buff and fit crowd.
I love it.

Thumbs down. Avoid this rehab facility if you have a choice.
I had right knee ACL surgery Feb 7 and chose this location due to Saturday schedule and I had wonderful experience with the Health Link downtown 4 yrs ago when I rehab my left knee ACL. I started at this Bitters location last week; preliminary evaluation was OK, but front office staff need smiles/welcoming attitude. First appt. on 25 Mar was with a female PT, but later I was passed on to John, who I joked about being so popular (i.e. other patients were also passed to him by other PTs during my session). Second appt. on 27 Mar was OK with Zach. Third appt. on 29 Mar - after inquiring why my session was 20 minutes late, the front office attendant said that my appt. was "messed-up big time." She said somebody mistakenly moved my ACL rehab session to pool session. I quickly cancelled the rest of my rehab appts. and plan to call my Dr. and continue at the downtown facility instead. If the Bitters staff can mess-up my rehab schedule it begs the question what else can they mess up? Are they using the right treatment routine? Do they really review specific patient requirements?
