I only ever used the open gym at HIT Athletic and it was honestly one of the best gym spaces I’ve ever had access to. Tons of high-quality Rogue equipment (more than enough bars, plates, racks, and specialty stuff you rarely see elsewhere), never overcrowded, always clean, and the staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming every single time I walked in. If you just want a serious strength training facility with zero hassle, this place is perfect. Highly recommend!

You will struggle to find as high a quality gym/concept/community/coaching anywhere. Great programming and motivating/knowledgeable coaching at a fantastic value. This place provides an open gym, wide variety of classes, high quality facilities, yoga/cycling/boxing/HIT/Strength training and more.

I like the facilities but they aren't that special considering the price. By OSHA standards THE MUSIC HERE IS LOUD ENOUGH TO CAUSE PARTIAL HEARING DAMAGE if exposed long enough. The instructors have probably damaged their own hearing and can't notice. With noise-canceling headphones I have to crank up the volume to hear over the obnoxious nightclub music they play on the turf every morning. In the sauna, you're just hearing the walls vibrate like the trunk of a crappy lowrider with more bass than taste in hip-hop.

I've been a member at HIT for about 3 years now and it is the best gym I've ever had! The coaches are fantastic, equipment is very well taken care of (mostly brand new), class times work very well with my schedule, and when they don't I come and use the gym or get to play on the turf doing my own thing. Everyone is super nice too, staff and my fellow members. Highly recommend HIT!

I’ve been training at HIT Athletic since September 2020, and it’s hands-down one of the best gyms around. The staff is friendly, the trainers are knowledgeable and supportive, and the facility is always clean and well-equipped. What I love most is the strong sense of community, everyone’s welcoming and motivating. HIT Athletic isn’t just a gym, it’s a place that keeps you coming back.

The staff, coaches and yoga instructors at this gym are so friendly, welcoming and helpful, no matter your starting point or fitness level.

After suffering a nasty injury under a coach's guidance at another gym out of state more than 10 years ago, I had been reluctant to join any gym or take fitness classes ever again. But my very fit daughter encouraged me to take classes with her at HIT last year, and I'm so glad I did.

The coaches and instructors always meet me where I am, offering support without ever pushing me past my comfort zone. The yoga classes have been awesome (thank you Jennifer Barnes!) and the fitness classes are challenging, yet so much fun (shout out to Coaches Joey and Megan!). I have definitely become healthier and stronger over the past year and will always be grateful to them for their guidance along the way.

When i first moved to the Austin area I was in search for a good gym, i definitely visited a LOT of gyms, and was happy to finally find Hit. The classes are great moderate to high intensity so you will definitely get a good workout. Lots of class options from HITT, to boxing, and Metcom. Class times range from 1 hour to 45 minutes which is nice to have that option. So far Katherine, Gary,& KP are my go to classes.

HIT Athletic is the best gym in Austin, hands down. The staff is great, mainly the incomparable Jessica K, who is the friendliest human on the planet. It is incredibly well run by their GM, Juan Martinez. And the coaching staff is diverse and really knows its stuff. The HIT family (members) are the best people you will ever meet. Coach KP’s classes are next level! Unlike other workouts that focus on isolated movements, his classes center around compound exercises that really target multiple muscle groups at once. If you want results and a workout that pushes you, Coach KP is the one to beat!

I can’t recommend HIT Athletic enough, especially the rhythm cycling classes with Rachel and Alexis! Front desk is unorganized and unprofessional. Was not offer or told about a towel at the front and it was my first time there. I was not walked through what to expect for my first class and not having a towel that was FREE at the damn front desk played a big part in my Cycling class. The class with Alexis was amazing but the front desk did not make my experience welcomed at all.

And I took the strength and conditioning class with Ross...Ross was encouraging, knowledgeable, kind, and super helpful! After a full year of membership at HIT I can proudly call it my second home. It has been the best value in fitness I have ever received. I am at HIT almost every single day, because there is always something quality for me to participate in. They offer everything I need under one roof - HIIT 45 min classes early in the morning before work, 1 hour strength training classes, an open gym floor, yoga, boxing, nice clean locker rooms (plus more). All of the coaches are excellent. I regularly enjoy classes with Ross, Katherine, Joey, Ricky, Chauntelle and many others.

I was dedicated to my former gym for many years, but once we found HIT it was such an ideal fit. Management is also lovely and very attentive to the guests. The booking app has improved recently, and I don't have any issues booking the classes I want. Some of them can be popular, but I rarely have any issue making my schedule.

I represent someone who was not a childhood athlete and did not commit to routine fitness until my 30's, but I feel perfectly comfortable being a very active individual at this gym amongst inspiring high-performing athletes and average healthy humans across various ages. The coaches and the other members help to push me to the next challenge. I have no hesitation recommending friends and family to check it out. Our entire family (me, spouse and two adult size children) are now all members and can pick our flavor of fitness in the same facility.

I've been a member of HIT Athletic for over two years with the basic membership, which grants access to the gym but not the classes. This review is based solely on that experience. Given the monthly fee, I expect gym equipment that surpasses what you would find at a hotel in this price range. While the recent addition of multiple squat racks is appreciated, it's clear that the gym layout was planned by someone without experience in gym design. The equipment placement is illogical, and the substantial investment in new equipment could have been better spent updating existing machines, such as the leg extension machine, and adding essential equipment like a shoulder machine. For the monthly cost, HIT Athletic should offer more value.

Regarding the layout, the gym, including the class area, is spacious and spans two floors. However, members are often excluded from the top floor if a trainer is present with clients. The top floor is at least 8,000 square feet—why does a trainer with two clients need so much space? This policy seems excessive and unfair to regular members.

Previously, towels were readily available upon entry, but now members have to request them. Given that towel service is part of our membership, this change is unnecessary and inconvenient. Of all cost-saving measures, this seems the least sensible.

The water fountains are another issue. While the bottle fillers with visible filter health indicators are nice, the filters have been flashing red, indicating they needed changing weeks ago. This suggests a neglect in maintenance that directly affects member experience.

For those considering a gym in Austin, there are many options at the same price point as HIT Athletic that offer more amenities, services, and better equipment.

My advice to management: Stop appearing to leech every penny from your members. Either offer towel service as part of the membership or don’t, but stop hiding them behind the counter. Invest in better equipment and a more logical gym floor setup. Improve maintenance of facilities like water fountains. By addressing these issues, you can significantly enhance the member experience and justify the membership cost.

I've been a member of HIT Athletic for about 3 years, and I can say it's the best fitness center I have ever been, particularly for group training classes.

The coaches are knowledgeable and approachable, making every class both fun and challenging. They offer a lot of flexibility, with classes available in the mornings, afternoons, and evenings, making it easy to fit workouts into any busy schedule. There's also a great variety of class themes, whether you're into HIIT, strength training, cardio, or a mix of everything.

The facilities and equipment are always well-maintained and updated as needed. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, making the gym a welcoming place to be and my favorite wellness "oasis" in Austin. I'm excited to continue coming here for many years!

One small piece of constructive feedback: the music during classes often tends to be similar styles, and sometimes even the same playlists. It can get a bit repetitive if you attend the same classes/coaches regularly. It would be great to mix it up a bit!

Decent facility, but way too expensive for what it is. Classes are often overfilled. Feels like the fast food of fitness.

Additionally, they have a contract that with fine print they don't talk to you about that requires a 50% cancellation payment of any monthly fees leftover in the contract. So if you have 4 months left in a 12-month contract, you'd pay 50% of that balance. A tried but true practice to gouge customers and a business model that is reminiscent of used car sales.

I am writing this review after I just walked out of this gym in the middle of class because of how inappropriate these instructors are. I have been going to this gym since I moved to Austin in November and this is the third horrible experience I have had here so it deserves a review. I walked out of the Grind class because I was singled out in the class of about 30 people. The instructor berated me when I made modifications to the moves. I had never done this specific class before and was given little to no instruction on how the class operates when I first got there. Everyone in the class were pretty regular attendees and the instructor was very unwelcoming and unhelpful as a newcomer. As I was making a modification to pull ups he insisted I get on the bar and he grabbed my waist as I was forced to do the move. I told him multiple times during the class that I did not want his negative comments and he kept persistently singling me out and pushing me like I was in a military boot camp. After asking him to leave me alone because he was anything but encouraging only hard and judgmental and inappropriate I told him I was going to leave and walked out. My second negative experience was during the HIIT circuit class when a different instructor told me and another girl that our legs and arms looked so long on our short torsos and that we looked like 14-year-old girls. Granted, we were both 30 years old and she also thought the comment was extremely rude. And lastly, during the TRX class a separate instructor pulled the bench out from under me as I was mid move and I landed on back. Luckily, I didn’t get hurt but she claimed she thought I saw her pull the bench back in the side mirror. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this gym again which sucks because I really did enjoy the strength classes that RP instructed. He is truly an encouraging instructor and makes sure you feel comfortable at all times. I am not someone who writes negative reviews but I want other people to know that a few of the instructors will say and do some very inappropriate things after you told them to leave you alone and will make comments that do not make you ever want to go back.

No wonder this gym is voted Best in Austin! From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted by smiling and friendly staff who are kind and helpful. The facility itself is beautiful and always perfectly clean. The trainers are awesome! Their classes are challenging, well organized and fun! How great is it to walk in a class and see your name HAND WRITTEN on the workout board! Even in a class setting you feel like it is a personal training session. The community at HIT is consistently positive and encouraging. I look so forward to my workouts and highly recommend this AMAZING gym to all fitness levels!

I’ve been a member at several other gyms in my life, but this is the first one where I really truly felt a sense of community. I leave each class stronger and more accomplished than the last and I can't put in to words the positive impact attending HIT classes has made regarding my mental and emotional well-being. The staff is wonderful and the community is unparalleled....seriously. From Henry to Jake to Tammy, they are all phenomenal coaches.

I could not recommend HIT more; it exceeds everything you could want in a gym in every category.

HIT has changed my life! The community, trainers, and facilities are unmatched. The people you find at the gym are at all levels in their fitness journey. The entire community is welcoming and inspiring. They uplift one another and create a high-energy space to grow at your own pace. I had a lot of learning to do, and the wide assortment of classes to choose from were perfect to begin my fitness journey and gain a basic knowledge how to safely and efficiently MAX OUT my workouts. Over 90 days, I cut my body fat from 27% to 15%. Jake and RP coach me on strength and form. Shanda has helped me tremendously with mobility and bracing for big lifts. And Brian’s classes have increased my stamina and endurance exponentially. I’ve tried so many new things and achieved more than I’d ever thought possible of myself. My confidence and pure joy have shot through the roof because of added mental health benefits. I could go on and on about my sincere gratitude for the great work this team does. I’m incredibly grateful. I bring my friends and talk about it whenever I get the chance. It’s no wonder it’s called HIT. This place is a homerun!

This is the best gym ever. Ton of variety of classes including 30 yards of turf, strength and conditioning, sports conditioning, hit circuit, pure strength, yoga, spin, TRX, and boxing. All the trainers are amazing. Huge variety of different movements to keep your body guessing. The members are kind and motivating. It is truly a family. Come and check it out.

I love HIT! I love the sense of community here, as soon as you walk in the door. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful, and the trainers are just great! One of the great things is the variety of class type and times offered, also suitable for a variety of levels. The facility is really nice as well.

The classes offered at HIT are great and worth the investment! I have been a member for 15 months and attend classes at least 3x per week. For working professionals, you don't have to spend a lot of mental/thinking energy...the coaches do an excellent job guiding you through each step of the class, so just show up and be ready to burn up a sweat! Strength and cardio/conditioning classes are held on their indoor 30-yard football field, while cycling and yoga/boxing classes are held in separate spaces. The HIT team does an outstanding job making everyone feel welcomed and part of the family. Their weekly schedule features a variety of classes at practical daily times.

The member experience at HIT is fantastic! The gym is spacious, clean, and organized, classes are diverse, fun, and well-programmed… but what sets this place apart is the COMMUNITY. The trainers are welcoming and extremely knowledgeable, office staff are friendly and helpful, the owners are awesome and the member community feels like family. There is a reason they refer to us as the HIT FAM! Every day at HIT people connect, push and encourage one other, socialize and share in each other’s success. It feels great not only to have a cutting edge place to train, but the support and energy of amazing people to train with.

This gym has it all! HIT Classes, boxing, free weights, huge turf area, baseball, kid classes and even kid's babysitting, spin classes, TRX, sauna. The instructors are awesome and really get to know you by name. The places is incredibly clean and organized. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. If your training has become dull and boring then this place will have so many options to get out of your rut. If you are a total beginner, then this place has many newbie classes to help bring you up to speed. There is something here for everyone.

HIT is the best gym I have found in Austin…and I’ve tried a lot. The facility is brand new so it’s very clean and well organized. There is childcare and they offer kid fitness classes upstairs.

HIT offers numerous classes so you never get bored: HIIT circuit, strength classes, conditioning classes, yoga, cycling, and boxing. If you are a beginner, I recommend Jake as he is a great instructor and will ensure you have the correct form. There is no judgment in the classes and all are welcome from advanced to beginners. The best part is the community they build. HIT is everyone’s happy hour, and because of the classes, many fitness friendships are forged. Plus, it’s locally owned so you can support small business in Austin!

Based on going to this gym for a couple months - I highly recommend you give them a try. On top of fantastic facilities & trainers, they offer great youth classes. My kids love working out here. They have great group classes, but also offer a full open gym for those times you just want to do your own thing.

So there I was, in the drive thru at Taco Bell getting my daily Covid-19 fix when a beacon of a red, white and blue sign hit me in the face. I thought “what in the world is Hit Athletic”? I quickly put my chalupa down and wandered inside. At the very beginning, I was greeted with a friendly staff who answered all my questions and showed me around the gym. I decided to sign up because hey, a chalupa hasn’t done me any favors these past few months and these guys seem nice. Little did I know that this place would become my home away from home. Every class pushes me to the limit and the trainers are top notch. I can’t say enough great things about this place except you need to try it out. These days, I drive by the Taco Bell and tip my hat because chalupas are a thing of the past! Hit Athletic....more like FIT Athletic!
