I went to this Yoga studio for 7 years up to 2007, every instructor was passionate about their practice and took time to help us with our own form and meditation. I miss living in the area and
I miss this studio so much!

Hot Yoga Houston provided me with an intense yet fulfilling workout experience during my most recent visit. The instructor delivered zen-like drill sergeant training which helped my stress disappear as quickly as summer heat makes ice cream melt.

The teachers are knowledgeable and supportive. The front desk staff is always helpful and friendly. There's great class variety (yoga, Pilates, HIIT). It is inspiring to see many loyal longtime students, and the community is welcoming and classes are accessible to new students.

Everyone is wonderful, the studio is welcoming and the teachers are top notch. Charlotte was amazing today (Sunday, 03/16/25) her instructions allowed me to go deeper, and I'm not flexible by any means. Thank you Charlotte you really made my day!!!!

First a student and then a teacher…..but still a student! Classes at Hot Yoga Houston are designed for everybody, and EVERY body. This is a studio filled with sincerity and gratitude. It is so nice to be surrounded by welcoming and accepting hearts. Great class times, and well trained teachers. This 26+2 yoga is healing and has done wonders for my posture. Do not let fear hold you back. The studio feels like home.

I truly love this studio and all the teachers and students who make it what it is. Hot yoga found me in Savannah at a time when I needed it the most, and it has become an essential part of my life. No matter what is going on or how busy things may become, I always find peace and connection to my true north on my yoga mat. I can’t do justice to the experience, but I would encourage anyone to give it a try. I am so thankful for the day β€” now 13 years ago β€” that I did!

Hot Yoga Houston is an exceptional traditional hot yoga studio. All the instructors are wonderful and knowledgeable about the benefits of specific poses. The environment is welcoming and motivational. I drive 35-45 minutes to class each day, which is telling of how special this place truly is!

I was visiting Houston for a week and this place offered a great deal for travelers; $80 for unlimited classes for the week. I ended up taking 3 classes (60 min 26/2). I love Bikram and enjoyed the classes, but I would not join this studio if I lived in the area. I really enjoyed 1 of the 3 teachers, but the other two were a little bland. The main issue with this studio, though, is that it is just warm, not HOT. A true Bikram studio should be 105 degrees and 40% humidity.

Update (response to business reply): Thank you, Mike, for sharing your qualifications. It seems you have a deep understanding of the practice. True, all the staff members I at the studio were very friendly. I did review the information about your facilities on your website. The system may be sophisticated, but it is still not hot in the studio. I had also forgotten to mention that the ceiling was leaking.

It wasn't hot at all. I pick hot yoga so I can sweat and detox. I did not sweat one drop today. I'm very sad about this. Looks like I will have to find any hot yoga studio that is act hot. For it being the most expensive drop in in the city I expected more.😞

Ruijin was one of the best if not the best teachers I have ever had. She has a way of speaking to you almost subliminally with positive thoughts and feelings of encouragement. It is apparent that she has been doing this for a long time and its no doubt she is a master at her craft. I left feeling so positive and encouraged and I look forward to Ruijin’s class next time

I enjoyed two classes with John Hopkins. I loved every moment; his presence and instruction reflect his kind heart and the true spirit of yoga.
The studio is clean, with lots of fresh oxygen gently blowing in the room. I appreciate the tips for posture adjustment- and will carry it forward in my continuing practice.
Y’all are so lucky to have such a nice yoga studio in Houston!
Thank you to Chelsea for making us feel welcome. Can’t wait to return here.

I was invited to a class from another yogi and was really intimidated by the idea of Bikram Yoga. I’d taken yoga sculpt classes at CorePower in Chicago but heard horror stories about the heat and let me just say that from the instructors to the delightful community this place blew my mind!

After my first Sunday class -which was awesome (Go Melissa!) - I decided to return 3 times in the same week. This is now my new place! My body and skin love it! Just be careful. It can actually be beautifully addicting I hear. ☺️ Thanks Team Hot Yoga Houston!!!

I did my first ever Hot Yoga session here, and I felt great! The teacher (Sheri Goodland) was amazing, helpful, and made this a fun experience. She also made me feel very welcomed and helped me with the poses throughout the poses. I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in Yoga. I’m visiting Houston on a business trip, and will definitely visit them again whenever I’m in town.

I always loved going to this yoga studio. If you've never done hot yoga, THIS is the place to try it! You will feel amazing by the end. Wanted to try something new while in town for the holidays. The instructors are super friendly and were helpful to me and my wife. We never once felt out of place in a new environment. The class was great, and the personal feedback was welcomed to help me get into the correct positions. I was blown away by the hospitality and the warm welcome we received. Thank you so much! We will be back when we are in town again. Melissa is a fabulous instructor.

I’ve been practice Bikram style yoga for over 15 years. I’ve been to all the β€œBikram/ Hot Yoga” studios in the surrounding area but I always come back to this one, which was the original in the Houston area. They have the most 90 minute yoga classes with the best teachers and have handled the pandemic in the most professional manner. I highly recommend Hot Yoga Houston located at South Boulevard, just off of Kirby in the Rice Village area. Happy yogaing! πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ

Best hot yoga studio in Houston. Clean environment, knowledgeable instructors, warm, friendly staff. I do wish the classes started and ended on time, as the website claims. This claim, however, is more reflective of good intentions than reality. Typically the instructor enters the room 1-3 minutes late (sometimes even 5), when in fact s/he should be walking in just a bit early. The instructor then goes to the podium, steps up on it, takes the mask off, gets the mic out, gives an introduction... If there's a new student in the room, the class starts even later due to an extra long intro and a breathing demo. Naturally, starting late also affects the ending time of the class. The instructors sometimes rush towards the end to compensate for the late start, so they end up only slightly late vs. significantly. There needs to more planning ahead on their part - after all, yoga involves discipline. It would cut down on students coming in late as well. Also, I prefer not to have artificial lighting during my practice when the sun brightly shines through both windows and a glass door. Another minus is that sometimes the instructor starts cleaning the mirrors right after class, while the students are still relaxing - can't be that urgent, can it? I doubt anyone wants to inhale chemical fumes while enjoying their final Savasana. In this review I listed several minuses, yet this is still a great studio. The problems are not major, just something that needs reworking, in my opinion, for an even better yoga experience.

I went to my second hot yoga class on thursday 2/20/2020 at 6:30pm and after finishing my class and going to my truck, I found that the passenger window was broken and my backpack stolen. When I went back to tell the office what happened, they immediately called the police but when I asked if they caught anything on the cameras, they told me that they did not work. They also broke into another classmate's car and stole their belongings. This was my second class but I no longer feel safe attending their classes. This used to be a safe area but not anymore.

First time taking a 90minute hot yoga class. The staff went above and beyond any other studio I’ve practiced at (room temperature yoga). They were very kind and friendly. I will be back. I live in clear lake and I would make the drive again. The studio is clean and inviting. I would and will recommend to anyone wanting to try hot yoga. They’ve been around since 1995.

I think hot house yoga does amazing things for a person in terms of adding muscle definition and tone as well as reducing the toll of daily stresses. I haven't been in a long time and notice my complexion isn't as smooth, my body has so much tension and my mind is clouding over with stress. I am about to return to the mat and look forward to a refreshed me. My only complaint with this studio (but a big one) is that I can not stand the CARPET! I usually attend class directly after another one has been let out. I try to stear clear of the dreaded wet, sweaty spot. I have been to other studios and know they can place something down more hygienic!

What makes this place great is the staff and instructors. They are always so nice and make an effort to remember you by name. Often the instructors will socialize before and after class with tips on poses and generally on improving your practice. They are also very good during class explaining poses, what they are doing for you and how to get better. While it is a little pricey, it is definitely worth it for the benefits. After going regularly, you feel awesome. The price is to be expected with the maintenance of a facility like this.

The class:
As far as Bikram yoga goes the class is good. I feel you get a really good workout and should come out feeling relaxed and like you have accomplished something. I have been to several different hot yoga studios and have learned different things from different instructors. For example, I use a small rag during class to either wipe my hands or hold my ankle during Standing Bow Pose. Apparently, this is a big no-no with Bikram. Its ok to use your towel during Rabbit Pose but not this pose. Hmmm? Not sure why that it but apparently at this studio the rag is not allowed. Bikram says using towels are optional.

The studio:
Its small but welcoming. I like the benches in the hallway you can sit and chat before and after class. It makes it a bit more social. I wish they would have everyone take their shoes off at the front door rather have everyone walk around the hall and locker room with their dirty shoes on. The locker rooms are small. It would be nice if it was more user friendly since you are so sweaty after class. There is really no great place to put your bag.

The instructors:
The instructors know the poses well and are great at explaining how you should be doing them and what you should be feeling. Bikram has his 'rules' and the instructors are not shy about calling you by name in the class and telling you not to do something. Some require you to take a sip of water only when they say to (although Bikram suggests certain times but says to drink as needed). If you know their rules and/or don't mind getting reprimanded then this is the class for you.

The smell:
The room smells awful! There is carpet on the floor and I don't think it is cleaned very often. Its a very distinctive moldy, smelly feet smell and I put Tiger Balm (like Menthol cream) in my nostrils before class to mask the smell. I hope I haven't caught some awful disease there. Only time will tell. I have never ever been to a yoga studio that smelled. This one is the first...and the last.

The bottom line:
I am not going back. I wish I would have had the option to try a class first but I paid for a 10 class card before trying it (stupid on my part) but I had been to so many hot yoga classes before and thought 'how different could it be'? I can get used to the Bikram rules with time but I cannot deal with the smell. I am going back to hot yoga rather than Bikram. Hot yoga allows you more freedom to modify the poses to fit your needs which can either be easier or more advanced. Hot yoga allows music during class (Bikram does not) so you come out feeling happy and relaxed. I have seen true athletes and very advanced yogis in hot yoga. Bikram is for beginners. If all Bikram is like this studio then I am definitely not a fan. Oh, and if you send an email to the studio you get an automatic response stating that they 'only give refunds with a doctor's note'. I guess there is an issue with people asking for refunds. I sure would love one!
