I’ve been a member since March of 2021 and love this location even more since Gretchen took over. I’m a huge fan of Hotworx in general, but she really customized the experience: updated the mats in front of the suanas, added amazing new Hotworx merch for purchase, even added snacks/bevs and tools to the vending machine to make our workouts an actual experience Instead of suanas with workout classes. BEST of all, she added rowers so we have Thunder classes 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 maybe a controversial opinion, but thunder is way better than blast. Gretchen you DA BEST! ❤️

** also, thanks for adding Alani Nu to the vending machine (my favorite) so I don’t have to run into Tom Thumb everytime before I workout 😋

I really enjoy hotworx and this particular location has the friendliest and most caring staff for their members. With a family emergency they were able to refund my monthly pymnt to help me out and have worked with me on freezing my account to keep from lose my membership. So happy with this location. Even with the stress I've had lately, the staff has been the only one to care and take the time to help me. Thank you! I look forward to getting back there!!

I love it….but

For starters I’m going to mention why I LOVE HOTWORX off Lebanon. The staff has always been real friendly and they’re all interested in fitness. My face has NEVER looked better and I feel really rejuvenated after a work out. It tracks your calories and the rooms hold only 3 people at most. 9 times out of 10 I’m usually alone. This helps with my own gym based insecurities at not being at the same level as the people around me.

Now the parts I believe could be improved.

Overall, the rooms are pretty small. So if you’re tall and the instructor says put your hands up you may be touching the ceiling or need to readjust. It’s a bit awkward and the virtual instructors are definitely not in a room the same size as you’ll be put into.

The brand really wants to promote the idea of CrossFit training. At the beginning of all the mat work outs there’s even a video about the benefits. However the videos all play on the same time loop. Every day there’s barre none at 6:00. If you want bands it’s 6:45 till bands every day. I wish they would switch it up so some days bands was at 6:00 and others barre at 6:00. It would work better for people who only have a small window of time to go to the gym. Especially for a brand that emphasizes the benefits of cross fit training.

Price is a little high. About 55 for 1 gym and 79 for access to all gyms. But they have a high energy bill and have to pay for staff. You are required to buy their mat and towel $50 more at sign up. However this is also because they need to make sure people are bringing the right equipment for liability purposes. I’d recommend to sign up in person to avoid the additional $100 sign up fee from corporate as well. Their cancellation process can be tedious. I believe it’s 2 months notice not very practical when you consider moving patterns right now.

Overall it’s a great gym with good staff. But like any company or brand there’s always room for improvement.

A sweet, energetic lady named Paula got me and the bestie checked and and all set up for our 1st-time workout. Loved the concept, instructor guidance, and the privacy that the rooms afford.

We did the Warrior workout and it was the business! There are modifications for most positions, so all fitness levels can keep up. The heat left my muscles feeling relaxed like I got a massage.

I enjoy HOTWORX because of the privacy it offers. I don’t have to talk to anyone- I can just go get a workout in without any issues. But with this particular location SOME (not all) of the front desk ladies are extremely nosy and have even aggressively gone into my scheduled workout room without knocking or saying anything.

The actual concept is great however very poor service when trying to cancel. You must go IN PERSON to cancel your agreement and in spite of the payments being on one credit card ALL parties have to GO IN PERSON. I have been charged for 6 months for my spouse even though I cancelled my account and my spouse was on the same credit card account. You would think the cancellation correlates to the credit card but they do not.

I've tried to post this but for some reason it's not letting me. When I first bought my membership I was super excited because of the wide array of workouts they have, and because it was so cheap! Right away they make you spend $90 on their special mat and towel, and you also get stuck paying for three months because of the contract. Within a month of having the membership I wanted to cancel. The staff is rude and there were multiple times where a staff member would yell at me for doing something I was never informed about. The videos were the same every time because of this there were several times where I would leave the workout because I was so bored. I left my mat there on accident, and I tried to contact them three times about it but nobody ever got back with me, so then finally I went to the studio and asked them about it myself and they ended up giving me someone else's mat (I know this because my mat was brand new and the mat they gave me was clearly broken in). The availability to even go to the workouts sucks unless you want to go in the middle of the night. A month before I was able to cancel my membership I tried to request cancellation, and I was not informed about any cancellations fees when I initially tried to cancel. Finally when I was able to cancel I contacted them and then just for them to tell me I could cancel for $100. This really caught me off guard because I definitely would not have signed that contract if I knew I had to pay to cancel along with all of the other fees that came with this membership. So unless you're rich, barely workout, or find it awkward being in a gym or class setting for working out I would highly not recommend this gym to anyone. I am young, but it's almost as if they used that to their advantage in every way shape or form.

I am completely in love with this place!!! I went in with my husband to try it with a free workout and never have looked at workouts the same way. I was really curious about the infrared light benefits and how a workout would feel inside the sauna. When we went in, we were greeted by Allie, she was already waiting for us. She was really nice, knowledgeable about how everything works, the studio, the saunas, the workouts, and took the time to give us a tour, despite the fact that we could see it was a really busy day; she organized bottles, towels and helped customers as well. 5 minutes into our workout and we already knew we needed the membership, we could literally feel the toxins leaving our bodies, i also like the fact that the workouts are low impact on the joints (but don’t be fooled by that, you will feel it in every muscle intensely). Allie helped us enroll, explained how the app works to book sessions and helped us book some sessions in advance, she has always been really helpful since then and goes above and beyond to makes us feel at home (she even keeps my mat in the back if i need to run and errand and will be back for another session and wrote my initials on the mat hearts and all, she is the sweetest, i added a picture). I come here, do 2 sessions and feel like I’ve worked out for hours, it clears my mind and helps with my mood. The energy in the studio is always positive and you always feel welcomed here. I recommend everyone to at least give it a try because it will definitely change your life.

***MEMBERSHIP IN DENTON, COULDN'T move my membership to FRISCO even though I physically moved***
Terrible membership contracts. I physically moved and needed to transfer my membership. I went inside Denton location 2 times to speak to someone regarding this and they could not help me. The second time I got helped but said I had to cancel and could not transfer but speak to the manager. He wasn't there both times so finally one day I got the manager on the phone. I needed to call the location closer to my new address and ask if I could transfer. They said no, called the manager back and he stated he would have to call them because they are just trying to make money off of me. In order to cancel HOTWORX you have to give a 60-day-notice. My account got drafted beginning of January, I requested to cancel since I was forced to and could not transfer membership due to moving, not bc I didn't want the membership, and I had to pay another $110 to do so and I basically gave a 90-day notice and it was cut off immediately. The manager Weston said he would call me back to see if they could just to the sweat all places but I never heard back. I'm curious as to why I didn't have this option stated to me when I drove twice 45minutes to go speak to someone about my move/membership.
HOTWORX needs to figure out something with their membership options. You should not have to pay outrageous amounts just to switch locations. Now if I want to go to the other location I have to pay all of the sign up fees again. COMPLETELY dissatisfied.

I did really enjoy the gym but just as so many of the reviews say below, cancelling is very difficult. When I signed the contract, I specifically asked what the cancellation policy was and if there were any penalties. A 60 day notice was never mentioned, not once. I see all of the replies below saying that it’s clearly stated in the contract however, the contract was read to us and she had us a sign. I trusted the person to provide the information I needed. Especially since I even asked about what the cancellation entails. It is disappointing that they don’t seem to be concerned at all with all of the negativity surrounding cancelling. I have loved HOTWORX but am now left with a bad taste in my mouth. Would not recommend just based on that.

I’ve been a member at Hotworx for over a year now and I enjoy it so much. I love how I have access 24 hours and a wide range of sessions and equipment. I enjoy that I can do a quick 15 minute workout on busy days and burn more calories than I would going to a gym and workout for a full hour. I’ve also noticed a difference in my skin and I sleep better.

I love HOTWORX. If you choose sweat everywhere you will notice other studios are a better experience. I am moving and wanted to switch my membership to a different location. They explained they are franchised and I would need to put in a 60 day notice with them and rejoin at the other location. What more fees???? Really bummed out.

Cancelling your membership here is almost impossible (I should have listened to the folks below who said the exact same thing). The fees to cancel are absolutely exorbitant and just a plain money grab. Additionally, the workouts are the same every single time and quickly become incredibly boring the first couple of weeks in. I have waited to post a review because I wanted to give it a little time....it’s been 3 weeks or so and I am completely hooked! I don’t even know where to begin to tell you about this place! From the moment I walked in I was greeted genuinely and professionally. Her name was Jen and I call her my “Hotworx angel”! She was patient with my questions, knowledgeable about the facility and classes offered, professional, and went above and beyond to make me feel right at home and get me signed up with everything I would need to be successful! As a business owner myself, I so appreciate the ownership at Hotworx Frisco investing in their clients by hiring someone like Jen. Such quality and excellence! I encourage everyone to go see Jen at Hotworx and let her show you what it is all about! The facility is safe, clean, has everything you need to have an amazing work out! DO NOT buy a memebership here. It’s a huge scam. They have these huge entrance fees and you have to buy all of their equipment. I’ve tried to cancel my membership for over a year now and the staff refuses to cancel it and said they could put my account on “hold” and still charge me 10$/month. After months of this I asked yet again to cancel because I DONT EVEN LIVE HERE ANYMORE, and they won’t. In fact I tried putting two different stop charges through my bank and now they are STILL charging me 50$/month! Screw this store and it’s staff. Workouts are boring and the same thing every time.
