Ricky’s personal training has truly been a game-changer for me. His knowledge, attention to detail, and ability to tailor workouts to fit my goals have helped me make serious progress. In less than a year he was able to fix an overactive trap I struggled with for multiple years and push me past every PR I was set prior to getting sick years ago.
I also can’t say enough good things about the 1-on-1 mitt sessions with Nathan. His precision, technique, and energy take things to another level. Nathan is easily one of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and training with but that definitely doesn't mean he takes it easy on you. He is constantly pushing me to get better, build my stamina, and master the fundamentals.
If you aren't working out here you are seriously doing yourself a disservice.

I was looking for a gym in the neighborhood and checked out several options—HTX FightCamp was by far the best. The facility is spacious, always clean, and very well-maintained.
They have a huge variety of equipment for any kind of training—whether it’s strength, cardio, or combat sports, they’ve got everything you need.

I am beyond happy with joining HTX Fight Camp. They have ample amount of equipment and space for a great workout. Nathan is my boxing coach. I knew nothing about boxing when I started. Nathan has been extremely patient and an outstanding coach/teacher. He doesn't just put you through a workout he actually teaches boxing and corrects your mistakes. I think that's awesome, and it's what I was hoping to get when I joined!! Ricky and staff are always cheerful and enthusiastic! It's just a great neighborhood gym to get a great workout. I highly recommend this gym. I hope I can find more time to join some of the classes offered, because I know they would be fun and that you would get an excellent workout!

Well, I’ve been telling anyone who will listen for the last year, so I may as well post it here — I absolutely love my gym!
This gym isn’t anything close to your typical boring place. This gym is a family… actually, it’s an entire community. If you’re frustrated about that stubborn last 15 lbs (me!), they’re right there with you - and giving you the tools to defeat it. If someone found a great recipe for energy bites or dinner, consider it yours. If you’re mad at your significant other and need to take it out by throwing a few punches, Nathan will be there to hold the mitts.
What Ricky and April Cruz (owners and trainers) have cultivated is rare. HTX FightCamp is a supportive, compassionate, inclusive, fun, engaging, happy place to belong — be it just for a workout or a little something more.
It’s never crowded, it’s never obnoxious, it’s never judgy, it’s never overwhelming. It’s a simple place with state-of-the-art equipment, long stretches of turf, great group classes, excellent personal training options, an actual boxing ring, and a low-key vibe.
I highly encourage you give it a visit and see if it’s the place you’ve been needing to add to your routine like I did.
And, yes, it’s air conditioned. 😉

My wife and I have been actively coached by Omar and Ricky. We both have seen amazing results. We have crushed our new year’s goals and are now feeling better than ever. There are so many options for all levels (beginners to pros) I always feel welcome and more than encouraged to challenge myself. Do yourself a favor and swing by for a visit!
Can’t say enough about how much I love this Gym, coaches, management and the community within. I started coming here almost a year ago and it has changed my life. If you’re looking for a neighborhood gym with all the equipment you could need, great coaching and boxing HIIT classes… then this is the place.

What started with a random ClassPass class fast forwarded to 3 years later and I’m both a fan girl and a devoted member of the HTX community. I have trained twice a week with April through pregnancies, miscarriages, babies and postpartum and I am proud of where I’m at today.
If you walk into a gym and hit the treadmill because everything else is beyond your comfort zone, try PT. If you make enough decisions and want someone to tell you what to do to get results you want, try PT. If you need a friend and like good people to workout with and add to your circle, it’s that. The boxing classes are HIIT and will offer full body training. Mit work is not something I’ve tried but u brought my sister in and Ricky is great. Support a local gym that cares about you. It’s that simple to me.

There’s a reason I’ve been going to this gym for 4 years. Absolutely you’re going to get a great workout, you’re gonna learn boxing techniques, and have a great time doing it. But what you get here you don’t get anywhere else is the community. After my previous gym closed, I was on the hunt for a new fitness space. What I really wanted was a smaller, more private gym experience, definitely not a big-box establishment. And boy, did HTX FightCamp deliver!
From the moment I joined, I've been incredibly impressed. This gym truly has everything you could possibly need for your workouts, and the availability is fantastic. A huge, huge plus for me is that it's never overly crowded, which makes for a much more enjoyable and focused session.

Ricky and Nate made me put in that work.. from being an absolute beginner their training made me feel like I can take on Canelo. HTX FightCamp is a world class family-owned fitness gym in the Garden Oaks/Oak Forest Area that will help you add muscle and reduce your body fat with a focused training program that is easy to follow and nutrition guidance and meals to get your body in the peak condition you deserve. Basically this isn’t just a boxing gym—it’s a fitness and conditioning haven with something for everyone.
I started here two years ago in January of 2023 first with boxing fitness workouts once a week attending Ricky's Saturday morning boxing fitness class. After a month of one day a week workouts I advanced to boxing fitness twice a week by attending the early morning weekday boxing fitness classes in addition to the Saturday class. Then I increased to 3 times a week boxing fitness with a day of strength bootcamp once a week. In 2023 I had improved my physical fitness and cardio health significantly – I lost 2 inches of pants size and my shirts fit again!
I asked Ricky for more after my doctor told me my grip strength and overall strength was not good enough. So, in 2024 Ricky got me and a friend on a more comprehensive strength and conditioning plan working out with weights 2-3 times a week. Ricky also provided guidance on how to eat healthier to build muscle and cut fat from my diet. After a year of strength training and boxing fitness twice a week I have massive gains. After all this training I can now bench press my own weight multiple times and I now have 100 pounds of muscle when I started at 85 pounds two years ago. My body fat went from 28% down to 17% also! Looking forward to a great 2025 where I make even more gains!
HTX Fightcamp always has had all the free weights, machines, and cardio equipment I have ever needed without any lines. The boxing fitness classes also come with coaching on how to hit the heavy bag properly and mitt sessions for a serious mitt workout. The personal training coaches are the very best. They are vey flexible with everyone’s schedule and help you train to the best of your ability with the right technique to avoid injuries and promote muscle growth. The trainers that have helped me the most are Ricky, Pam and Omar.

If you are looking for a new gym in the Garden Oaks/Heights area you need to check out HTX. This isn't just a boxing gym, it has options for everyone and every interest. The gym has 15,000 sq. ft of free weights, machines, and cardio equipment. If you need flexibility they have the option to add 24-hour access. If you prefer classes they offer group training, personal training, boxing fitness classes, and 1-1 mitt work. If you are interested in golf Ricky offers golf fitness training. They are constantly making improvements and reinvesting in the gym.
The owners (Ricky and April), GM (Sal), and coaches (Afton & Max) are all personable and extremely knowledgeable. I'm sad to be moving away because there are very few gyms, if any, that are on par with HTX FightCamp. If you have any hesitation, drop in and check it out for yourself.

My Son and I started this class together as part of our lifestyle change goals. I love the positive environment, the patience of the trainers and the camaraderie of the other members. I’m completely uncoordinated and haven’t seriously exercised in probably 20years. I have never once felt shamed or uncomfortable. Everyone encourages each other and are more than willing to offer pointers. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I feel like I can be if I stick with it. I may never be a great boxer, but I can be strong and healthy. If you’re looking for a great place to start on your own journey, I encourage you to give this place a try.

You •need• to come here! I took my first class earlier in the week and fell in love. The staff was friendly and helpful from the moment I walked in. I have zero boxing experience and was a bit timid to take the class. But the instructor, Alex, provided guidance before, during, and after the workout, which helped boost my confidence. And because of his teaching style, I felt I got the best workout! The class kills you, don't get me wrong, but it leaves you feeling like a Rockstar because you achieved more than what you thought you could. I have been attending HTX Fightcamp with Coach Alex over the last month and don't want to look back to my time without it. It is fun, challenging and keeps you on your toes mentally and physically. The Coaches and Instructors here are a tight knit crew, sharing and bringing forth a strong vision for the community...and the gym has a rad energy! Please know that they truly prioritize having class and personal training options for a spectrum of interests and personal goals. So find what will work for you! FightCamp Classes - Rating: 5 stars
I initially joined doing FightCamp (boxing with resistance training). I have had previous boxing training and HTX FightCamp is in no comparison to the quality and affordability. Ricky, Julian, Mike, and Tim are great instructors. They are enthusiastic and keep you motivated throughout The Rounds. With each Round, they demonstrate the combo and offer modifications, if needed.
Mitt work - Rating: 5 Stars
I tried out a private mitt work session with Julian. Julian explains the logic and combos in greater detail which allowed me to flow through the combos organically. The session was 30 minutes, and I immediately noticed a difference during FightCamp classes. I highly recommend taking at least one session to help improve your movement.
Personal Training - Rating: 5 Stars
I have been training with April for 5 months, and man, she is tough! I have had prior experience with personal training before; however, I have not seen the results I have with her. April is attentive and pushes you out of your fitness comfort zone. Her exercises are out of the box so training days are never boring. She is constantly cheering you on through each round, and helps you exceed your fitness goals.
Cleanliness - Rating: 5 Stars
Navigating with Covid-19, Ricky and April ensure all proper cleaning and social distancing measures are followed to ensure the safety of their members. Each time I come in, I’m welcomed by the smell of cleaning products and my temperature being taken. If members are not comfortable with in-person training, they currently offer Zoom classes.
Equipment - Rating: 5 Stars
When I initially join 10 months ago, Ricky mentioned that when they obtain their new member enrollment goal, equipment is purchased to bring more value to their members. So far what I’ve seen that has been added is a Lateral Squat Machine, Plate Loaded Leg Extension, Calf Machine, Frog Fitness Trainer, Plate Loaded Leg Press, Seated Row Machine, and 6 Aqua Bags. They have also added a new company within HTX FightCamp, HTX ScreenPrints! All of this continuous improvement given Covid-19.

When I first moved to Houston, I tried a couple different places to workout but HTX Fightcamp was the one that kept me going. Their boxing classes are appropriate for all skill levels. This is my second home. This is my happy place. I’ve met so many amazing people. I personal train with April Cruz, who is a badass and has a passion for fitness. I also do the boxing classes, which are led by April’s husband Ricky and let me tell you this is the best type of cardio out there. Highly recommend!

My husband and I joined HTX Fight Camp in January 2019 and couldn't ask for a better place to work out. Their atmosphere is first class, the gym is always SUPER clean, and you feel that sense of community. To be honest, the members are more like family!
We've had the big gym memberships before....the ones you tend to ignore after a period of time. With a smaller gym, we're able to enjoy ourselves without fighting for the next open machine.
The owners, Ricky and April, have helped us stay focused on our fitness goals. Michael and I started out with the Fight Camp classes. It made cardio fun again!! Ricky also incorporates body weight exercises to give your muscles a little extra work. As time passed, we transitioned to personal training sessions while still keeping up with the classes. Both Ricky and April have a way of creating workouts specific to you and what you're striving to achieve.
The best part is I walk out with my mind clear and LOTS of positive vibes!!

I attended the free trial and got hooked! The workouts are always different and are FULL body workouts. The gym is spacious and very clean. You will always feel welcomed and the trainers are constantly cheering you on while making sure you’re safely completing the movements. The owners are always there and heavily involved during the workouts, Ricky and April have a way of making everyone feel like family. I highly recommend!

I was skeptical that I would like a boxing workout - I usually do crossfit and running as my main exercise. Well, I LOVE it! It's very effective, high energy, varied, functional strength movements built in, super fun and I burn a ton of calories every class. Even better, the facility and the instructors are FIRST CLASS. Great vibe, super approachable, and attentive and helpful coaching. So glad I tried it! FWIW, you don't need a boxing background AT ALL, just go and have a blast!

I've never tried boxing before and am absolutely in L O V E with the vibe at HTX FightCamp. Ricky and Ariel make me feel like a champ every time and I've made this a weekly rotation. I've discovered muscles I've never had before from previous workouts and really like how every session is different. BIG BONUS: I'm less angry and more productive after boxing for an hour! :)
