I committed a year long commitment to Impact fitness as a year long commitment. I went to do service work for a non-profit I helped start in Guatemala called impact fitness and let the staff know I would be leaving.
Even after my commitment, THEY keep charging me. Month after month after month. So even if you never go back after your commitment ends, they will charge and charge. I ended up with a $250 debt them that was sent to collections.
I recently signed up again because i live in the neighborhood and overall enjoyed the facility. My payments were supposed to be 21.64 is excatly whatand I've been paying every month. i guess there's an annual fee of $29 and a late fee of 9 something dollars.
My amount due was $109. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT FOR YET TO THIS DAY. I LEFT MY NUMBER TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER AND NO ONE CALLED ME. NEVER. THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS A BUNCH OF CROOKS AND I CAN GET YOU A DISCOUNT AT A GYM HERE IN UPTOWN IF YOU DON[T GO TO IMPACT. THE CROOKS THERE DESERVE TO HAVE THEIR BUSINESS SHUT DOWN. THE UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES MAKE THEM DESERVE THIS. THE MANGER ON THE PHONE WAS SO RUDE TO ME BECAUSE I USED "FOUL" LANGUAGE. I ADMIT, I WAS MAD. I'M SICK OF CAPATILIST PIGS LIKE IMPACT.
I SENT IN A REQUEST TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP AND STILL HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING . I WOULD STRONGLY ADVICE AGAINST IT.
PLUS, THE JACUZZI HAS MOLD ALL IN IT AND IT'S SOOOOOO GROSS.

Unfortunately they closed off 1/3 of the gym and now make you pay an extra $30 a month and attend crossfit style classes. Loved the gym before that, but will have to find a new gym when my membership is up this month.

I recently participated in impacts fittness iFit classes.
I like that at every class there was already a workout planned so I didn't have to put any thought into it. I also learned that I am not very flexible and I learned a few routines to increase my flexibility.
The best part of the whole experience is the support and sense of community that comes with iFit! Overall it was a great experience!

I Just recently joined this gym because it's close to my home and work. I was a little apprehensive because of all the bad reviews, but people complain about the smallest things. I took a tour and absolutely loved it. The staff was extremely nice, the gym was clean, they have a lot of equipment. That have a track, a heated pool outside, and for extra, a cross fit area. I don't know what the bad reviews are even suggesting smh but for the price, it can't be beat :)

Was a member for 12 years. Other members getting one price we were paying three times more, they wouldn't negotiate our monthly cost down. Now we are very happy members of LA Fitness just down the street. Beautifully clean facilities, serious members, great experience.

I have been attending this gym for a while. Everything was going good, staff was friendly and machines were good for my type of workouts. Recently, some of the girl workers have let there friends come in the gym for free ( I know this because they were speaking loud in the locker room about it and were asking their friends of the prices of the gym). I don't have a problem with that, the real issue is how little toddlers, ages between 3-4, are roaming around in the locker room .They were playing inside the lockers while their mothers were just chit chatting loud and not telling them anything. This has occurred during the week between the times of 8:30-10pm. I dislike trying to change in the locker room and toddlers screaming and running around me. I believe this issue needs to be addressed. I want to go to the gym to workout and release stress, not leave the gym more stressed out due to screaming toddlers. Very disappointed with his issue. My money goes to this gym every month, I want to be able to enjoy the gym I pay for, if this keeps occurring I will have to move gyms soon.

I have been a member of White Rock Lake Impact Fitness for a couple of months now. I LOVE it.
First, I want to RAVE about my personal trainer, Celi Sosa. Celi really knows her stuff; with a background in physical therapy, sports medicine, and personal training, she has a wide range of knowledge and can work with anyone from a person who wants to get super-ripped, to a 45-year-old woman who wants to tone up and build strength, like me. Whatever your goal is, Celi will help you achieve it. Her personality is truly fantastic; I genuinely look forward to our sessions. Sheβs patient with me, and when I know sheβs worked with people that have far more knowledge/ability than I do β she never makes me feel self-conscious or rushed. I plan to continue to work with her regularly β honestly, now that I have worked with her, I donβt want to think of life without her! ο
Norb, the gymβs Master Trainer, was so helpful, along with Celi, helping me to identify the best training program for me, and exactly how the billing works so, there would be no surprises.
The gym is WONDERFUL. Itβs an older, neighborhood gym, not brand new, but Impact has everything you could need/are looking for, in a clean, welcoming environment that is not intimidating, for a very affordable monthly membership price. Employees and members alike have all been very friendly and helpful.
I highly recommend Impact Fitness.

If you like old creaky half working machines, bent barbells, janky restrooms, and an overall substandard place this is the place to be!
The straw that broke my back was the only good place was the strength training gym.
Now you have to pay extra for this wannabe CrossFit gym, while not having your overall membership reduced (less service same price). So instead of giving a heads they just created a random pay wall to use new equipment. I simply canβt support a gym with these kinds of business tactics.
If they would have maybe bettered the equipment upstairs Iβd had stay but instead they are forcing me to use their dilapidated equipment at the same cost to what was previously advertised as free access. I shouldnβt have to pay $30 just to use a squat cage and a floor. Happily cancelled after three years.

Like others, I showed up yesterday, 03/12/2018, to a large section of the gym closed off. There was a trainer and one person working out. I was told I needed to pay extra to access this "cross fit" style section of the gym. The extra fee would more than double the cost of my membership. According to this trainer, there is added value in this area. Unfortunately, there is very little value to the remainder of the gym. They have one squat rack(power rack) in the other sections. The bars are inadequate, a couple are bent, machines are often broke or in need of maintenance. I started working out here in 2004 when it was White Rock Athletic Club. When LA Fitness opened I moved over there as it was cleaner and had much better equipment for a very similar price. WRAC/Impact is an ideal location. However, it just lacks what I needed.... nice squat racks, deadlift areas, etc. I moved away and came back to TX in 2015. I checked out Impact and joined because of this "Cross Fit" area and it's close to my home. If this area was not there, I would have gone elsewhere. I could now do deadlifts, and they had adequate squat racks. They've recently added new plates and bars along with other items this area. I was excited as I was watching them unbox things. Then, they closed the section. I now need to more than double my membership fees to use the same area and perform the same exercises I've been doing for the last 3+ years? The "trainer" admitted the remainder of the gym was highly inadequate and needs a major overhaul. I doubt this will ever happen. Ownership and trainers have been saying this for years. The biggest changes outside of the CrossFit area has been the sign change out front from WRAC to Golds to Impact. Outside this "CrossFit" area, the gym is pretty lousy. Broken and/or poorly maintained equipment. Generally not very clean. I hate to leave due to the convenient location, but the value is just not there any longer.

Not a bad gym for the price. It has everything you need. However equipment is outdated, especially in the weightlifting area. Not enough barbells for stations that utilize them. One station always has a missing barbell depending on whatβs being used. Not enough plates for weight lifting. Need more 10lbs and 5 lbs weights for barbell.

Ratty equipment, unknowledgable desk staff, dirty pools, sparse equipment, and an unwelcoming environment. I'm glad I just sampled this gym with a free pass, would not pay for a membership.
UPDATE:
I bumped my review down to one star - I accidentally left my ID here (which is totally my fault), yet the company NEVER got ahold of me to inform me they'd found it, despite having all my contact information. They even called me to complete a survey, but didn't mention they'd found my licence. Come on, guys.
Edit 2:
They will also call you nonstop.

This is a no-nonsense gym that will keep you coming back! I come here to lift, they have a great downstairs area with real squat racks and kettle balls for some serious weight training. They have a wonderful upstairs area where you can lift free-weights as well as machines that push your workout to the limits. I haven't mentioned the great cardio area or the pool, also haven't mentioned they have a top notch yoga studio inside of this gym. Wanna good stretch? Be that guy (or gal)and stretch your muscles either upstairs or downstairs as they have ample area to stretch it out. What you don't get here are Caffe Lattes and hot towels, they do however have strong black coffee in the morning that I use as pre-workout sometimes. This is a neighborhood gym that's about a minute drive from my house, it's got a community feel here. People here are very capable of getting in a killer workout while being courteous of others, and this is what I like about this gym the most.

Bad customer service. I signed almost a year ago. They told me before I signed the contract I can freeze my account anytime without any fee. When the time comes, I ask to freeze it but the salesperson told me there is a fee every month. I tried to explain what happened and he said "I DON'T CARE". On top of that, the trainer came to me and said with impolite approach "we don't know those people who helped you to signed the contract so we can't help you".

Signed up for the Garland gym because it was right next to my house. All was well until one day. I was working out at 6:30pm on a friday when they said the gym was permanently closing. Turns out they sold my membership to another gym and did not bother to tell me. Another person I knew who signed up the day before this happen also had their membership changed over. I never once was told they were selling my membership to a new gym. They sold my $20/ month membership to a gym that charges their members $10/ month. So now I pay $20/ month to go to a gym that everyone else pays $10/ month for. Shady business practices abound.
TLDR: they sold my membership to another gym without letting me know and now I pay double at the new gym.

I cancelled my membership three months ago because I was moving away. I paid the buyout and the extra month because of the 30 d notice. They still charged me August and September. Management hasn't answered my calls and the email they provided me in the agreement gives an error. This company is a fraud.

There Garland location that just shut it's doors didn't let all members know. Thanks for that... now we're expected to go to another impact fitness or different gym the doesn't have a pool or the things that we wanted. No thanks.. I can see why it shut down it was not clean and it had poor management. Trainers sucked and didn't care about their clients. They had a good trainer name Brittany and all the good ones they either fired or they left.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! The gym is nice it self but the customer service sucks ass!! I never had such a hard time with any gym before I came here. They do not like to do cancellations. Do not sign up for a personal trainer here. It's a rip off and a scam. My friend paid for a session and she never heard from her trainer since then. I've been trying to cancel my membership n trainer for the past week and half and all I'm getting is a run around.

I am coming up one my one year anniversary, and I am curious if the information the sales rep gave me was correct. Reading the reviews has made me wary of the billing of impact fitness. When I signed up I was told there was a 1 time initiation fee. Will this turn out to be true I wonder?

If I could rate this place a ZERO, I definitely would!! Nothing but dirty business done at Impact Fitness! PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER THIS GYM there are many other gyms that can provide better service and not continue to charge you after you've cancelled your membership. Gym members beware - these guys are why you don't join gyms. We moved out of the area a year ago and are still harassed about fees for a membership we cancelled. We had to stop the credit card because they would/will not cancel. I am going to have to take legal action to get them to stop. There are other, better, more ethical gyms in the area. I highly recommend LA Fitness.

Canceled my membership 4 months ago. I paid in full and was told I could cancel at anytime without having to continue to pay. I canceled with Shelby a girl working front desk and told me everything was good to go. Unfortunately I'm still getting billed to this day and they're not going to terminate my account unless I find the document of my cancelation.
Signed up at Golds Gym instead cause they actually have a corporate office to speak to about billing unlike impact fitness.

Great gym, friendly and attentive staff. Lots of options for cardio. The free weights and weight machines are wonderful, you can always find weights or a machine, if you're into throwing weights around and grunting it's a good spot. The gym is older so you get great perks at half the price. I love the trainers because they're shears there to help unlike those cross fit places. So if you aren't getting the results you want they can tell you what you're doing wrong.

Steve and Carolyn are always incredibly nice and know me and my girlfriend by name. The facilities are decent, but as long as you're not incredibly needy, it's a great gym. Plenty of treadmills and cardio machines. Great Yoga classes. If you go during peak hours, it's going to be busy... Duh. You can't hold them responsible for that. It's certainly not the best gym I've ever been to, but it's a great gym nearby unless you need zero-g treadmills or cold laser baths and other needful things.

If you're a fan of indifferent customer service, customer harassment and neglected workout facilities, then by all means, join Negative Impact Fitness. Otherwise, save your money, or spend it elsewhere (maybe the YMCA, the JCC, or about 10 other alternatives). Warning: Members seeking to end their memberships have to give a 30-day notice for doing so. And to sever the membership, members must personally enter the gym, or send a registered letter. Basically, it's easier to quit a job or to get married than to leave Negative Impact Fitness. Wish I had something positive to say about one of the businesses in my neighborhood, but I don't.

If 0 stars was an option it would certainly be given. If you like being told you owe them money after you have already closed your account with them, then, this is the place for you. However, I do not appreciate such practices.
I closed my account, then they wanted to charge me some extra fee which I was unaware of. Months later, out of the blue I am called by an collection agency telling me I have a delinquent balance. After calling the gym to clarify I was told it would take several days for them to get an answer from their corporate office. After calling THEM I was told that in the terms and conditions I signed I was liable for the $39 extra fee which after already closing my account and months of not knowing about this fee it turns into a $179.00 fee that I am now responsible for.
You have now been warned about this place.
