When I give a review, I like to start with the positive…however, there is nothing positive so let’s jump right in.

My daughter signed up for a pay to play theater production, because we knew and loved the director. The director reached out to me about her not having fun, and I confided that we don’t like to rock the boat, but since she asked, there was a kid being mean. I didn’t name the kid, because I didn’t know the name, but told the role she played. Turns out that kid happened to be the child of someone high up in this company. Instead of addressing the issue, they brought me in to defend that child, and say, that’s just how they are and they’re the oldest sibling. We are working with them. Then threatened to kick my kid out of the show we already paid for if they didn’t start having the time of their life. It was crazy!

Then the owners started targeting my kid saying she was bullying, because she asked another kid if he was wearing makeup. Guys, I can’t even make this stuff up. They then said they thought my kid was a teenager because they were tall and that’s why they thought the question was bullying. (Bear in mind we fill out forms when we enroll and they had her age on file) She had just turned 10! Also, they used AI for all their email communication with me, which always rubs me wrong!

Most everyone there seemed to know each other and they weren’t welcoming to outsiders at all. The theater aspect also lacked diversity. I can’t speak much to the dance side. Maybe if you already know people there they will welcome you with open arms, but that was far from our experience. I waited several months to write this review, because I didn’t want to write a review out of anger. Now, I think I can safely say, there are tons of options for theater in the dfw area, and I would definitely not choose this one. Check my other reviews if you would like some great recommendations. I’m a former theatre teacher, and still work with kids in performing, and like you support local performing arts, but this one is a hard no.

Amazing expertise! It’s unfortunate that Texas doesn’t have more programs for the arts: music, dance, orchestra, etc.
But, interval is awesome! I have three girls, hoping to get my third in a class as soon as possible. Wish they did more gymnastics. 🤸 And wish they had a bigger place,But the Quality of the dance and music is amazing. Above all, I trust them with my kids. Not many places you can get a PhD Professor for such a low price.

Both of our daughters have recently started dancing here and they are really enjoying it. They both look forward to coming to their dance classes every week and I can tell they are actually learning new skills. Their teachers are so kind and fun and engaging. We could not be happier.

My daughter has loved doing Acro Dance at Interval. They are a fun and welcoming group! She made friends fast and has been able to use her gymnastics background to step up her dance skills. Her over all attitude and confidence in herself has excelled. We enjoy watching her work hard and have fun doing it!

Biased proud parent here =-). My daughters’ dancing has really taken off here. From recreational dancing to competition, the small class sizes and amount of personalized instructor attention is incredible. I also love their style of having well-designed and programmed storylines dance productions to showcase the dancers’ talent and progression rather than recitals with random dance numbers while waiting for my kids to perform. Hands down. This is the place to introduce dance to your kids and develop their skills.

Wonderful new dance studio located in Melissa! The studio spaces are beautiful, and the owners are caring, and attentive. Classes and different styles of dance are available for all ages!! Great place to begin, continue, and pursue dance in a safe and loving environment.

Interval Performing Arts is a wonderful dance studio conveniently located in Melissa, TX. As a former employee I can say that the owners truly care about their employees. I lost my sister back in October and they did not hesitate to take over for my scheduled hours so that I could go and be with my family right away. When I needed to make a change in my career they were very understanding and helped me transition very smoothly. As a parent I can say that my son loved the trial classes that he attended. Everything is very reasonably priced. This place of business will make a very positive impact on the community!!

My daughter was wanting to try dance again, and we are so glad to have found Interval! I love the longer class length, the closed circuit tv to watch my performer while waiting, and all the extra activities and perks available. Even though I love it as a parent, what is most important is my daughter loves it even more! She comes out of her practice happy and proud and dances all week long until her next lesson. At Interval Performing Arts, we feel part of a family: not like clients. We are excited to continue growing with them!

I am so happy as a parent to have my girls dancing at Interval. They are each taking many classes there. What impresses me about this studio, is how much they invest in student safety and dancers progress and they care about each person who comes into the studio.
I love that the flooring is the best quality to prevent injuries, I love that they are careful about music to protect their minds, I love that the costumes are child appropriate, I love that my girls are in productions twice a year.
I love all the perks of membership, the shirt, jacket, parents night out, the Daddy Daughter Dance, etc…
I love the office staff at the front and all my daughters teachers. The owners Chris and Natalie are phenomenal to work with and my girls are thriving. They try to be fair in all situations and I feel like they genuinely care about my children and me.
They have a curriculum for every class, my daughters are on a team and a one of them is in a recreational class and they are getting excellent instruction and care from both sides. I love all their teachers. I love that I can see how my children are progressing in every class and what skills are being worked on. Natalie is so gifted as a dance instructor, she has my daughters loving dance and knows how to teach to tailor to their needs. Ashley is amazing at working with my daughter for her choreography on the solo she has in the upcoming show. All the staff shows kindness and support to all the students. I love the membership program, it’s so nice to not have to worry about paying extra different times of the year. It’s all included. I have been to other studios and I would not want to go anywhere else. I love everything about where we are at!
