After training here for 2 years moving between different gyms from the same Big Tex / Iron Forge group, I think I can finally say something, right? Iron Forge really has community. If you’re looking for real training with no fluffs, this is the place.
If you ask me, “is it that deep?” it is! People here are humble and give their 100% to make sure everything is running smooth. If you’re looking for serious trainers, I’d say they’re some of the best in town. I’ve been to different facilities, and this place stands out because they have passion, care, and they treat your goals like their own.
If you mind your business, focus, and show up for your workout, you will make progress. But if you go to the gym to just watch, judge, or point fingers at what someone is wearing or doing in their personal life, the gym and training is not for you. Iron Forge is full of serious people and pro trainers.
They’re also taking the cleaning situation seriously! they improved a bunch.
This facility was one of the closest I’ve seen to that feeling of community, passion, discipline and grit. I had a great time of growth and learning here, and I truly recommend it.
Only thing I’d say is sometimes maintenance takes a little longer, but nothing that ruins the experience. Overall, it’s a really good gym and the big Texas owners are good people and front desk it's welcoming too.

I only come here for the Sunday open sparring/rolling sessions, and my experience has been great. The guys are extremely respectful and communicative. Since day one, it’s been a solid environment to work on technique and fight IQ.
Of course, the coach pushes some of his fighters, so certain rounds can get a little more intense — but that’s expected when you’re training in a mixed group of hobbyists, people who want to stay sharp, and fighters pursuing a career. I’m all for it.
It’s also the kind of place where, if someone is going a little too hard, you can simply communicate and ask them to tone it down. Everyone I’ve worked with has been more than respectful. And if you want more intense rounds, there are definitely some studs who will match your pace as long as you’re respectful. Nobody is there to start fights — everyone is there to train.
After reading some of the negative comments about the gym, you really have to take them with a grain of salt. Some people will complain about anything. It’s not the gym’s fault if someone didn’t read their contract or ask questions before signing. And it makes no sense to complain about cancelation fees that were clearly stated.
I’ve never experienced any aggression here. It’s a gym, not a ballet studio — you’re going to hear music, and you’re going to see people who are serious about fitness. As for equipment, they have everything you would need for Olympic lifting, bodybuilding, or general fitness. I can’t speak to pricing since I only come for sparring, but I can’t imagine it’s uncompetitive with the rest of Austin or the surrounding areas; otherwise, people wouldn’t keep coming.
I love the open mat community on Sundays and really enjoy being around guys who are competitive and ready to put in work. Plenty of young men could benefit from checking this place out, along with the coaches across their Muay Thai, MMA, and BJJ programs.

The gym seems cool at first, but the atmosphere quickly gets old. They have a severe lack of weights, and instead of addressing that, they enforce extreme rules. I was confronted by a regular member in a hostile way for forgetting to put back a couple of plates. First time in a month I’d forgotten to, and I’ve personally moved weights that weren’t racked there dozens of times myself. It’s a trivial part of gym life, and no one is perfect.
I’ve been working in gyms for nearly 20 years, and this was the first time I experienced such an awkward and unnecessary confrontation. Some of the equipment is decent, but most of it is lackluster. The environment feels toxic, especially compared to gyms like Gold’s or 24 Hour, and the price is too high, around $60/month when $45–50 would be more reasonable.

This would have been 5 stars for everything a gym should be. Great equipment, great people, decent value for the cost of the membership, and not too crowded. A lot of the equipment here is Panatta branded stuff, so they are really high quality machines. People were nice, plenty of friendly people and faces.
Unfortunately, whoever they have partnered with that manages the whole memberships/contracts section of the business completely tarnished the few months I had been there.
When a business says, "Sorry, because you cancelled your membership 12 days before your next renewal cycle instead of 14, we are going to have to charge you another FULL MONTH of membership (which isn't cheap by the way). Not to mention I hadn't even been using the last couple weeks of my current month of membership because I had moved. But that also doesn't matter I guess. On top of that they also charge you $20 dollars for canceling online instead of in-person. So just to cancel your membership, you are looking at 80 dollars, even if you cancel before the next month renews. And I specifically stated I was moving addresses, so I would no longer be there. Then they hit you with the, "But it was in the contract!" which just makes my blood boil with how gym businesses get away with that type of behavior.
I sent out an email similar to what I said above, and they told me they did me a favor by not "renewing next month" but instead, it will go out to collections and ruin my credit instead. So sure, if you do want to go to this gym, just make sure you ask them to give you a special provision that you will not agree to the garbage terms they provide you.
Hopefully they get rid of whoever they partnered with 3rd party wise so it can continue being a good gym without their help, because I can promise you they are definitely not helping.
*UPDATE* I found out that now I currently "owe" over 200 dollars. This is because when you cancel your gym membership, they count that as "requesting" to cancel your membership. They will not stop charging you for your membership UNTIL you pay their extortion fees and any remaining balance. So you will continue to pay months after cancelling. Some really great business practices here!!!

Really clean and loads of equipment, also really top notch panatta machines.... Could easily be a 5 star gym.... The absolute plague of influencers and tripods is what ruins it for me. I was here a month before I went back to my old gym. The sheer volume of influencers taking up space and equipment, filming with tripods, conducting interviews, etc. just isn't worth the hassle. I usually get in around 930pm and it was still an issue. May be a great gym for the kids... But not for an old head like me.

Iron Forge Gym is excellent! The equipment is top-notch for any type of workout you're looking for. The space is clean. The front staff is friendly. There's various fighting styles you can learn and be part of, which I'm currently not doing, but it looks awesome. The best part is we're all serious about our fitness. Whether it's bodybuilding competitors, power lifters, or just people trying to be fit. I haven't interacted with the trainers much yet, but they all seem cool and watching their clients train, they know what they're doing. Super glad I found this gym for my return to weights.

Positives:
- The price is fair for the sheer amount of bodybuilding and strength-training equipment available at the gym.
- The gym is open at all times and is easy to get in and out of with plenty of parking in the surrounding lot.
- You're able to use the martial arts training mats at any point if there aren't any classes going on.
- It's mostly a pretty chill vibe, but the 'vibe' can also be a negative (see below).
Negatives:
- There is not much of a focus on cardio equipment at all - it's pretty sparse on that end. If you're looking for a gym with lots of cardio machines, this isn't it (whether that's necessary is up to you).
- Every 2 months or so, the gym will be completely closed for ~3 days to host some kind of fighting promotion. That's 18 days a year where you're completely unable to come and workout (they're always on the weekends), or ~5% of the year. Do you get a 5% discount to compensate, since you're still paying for that period? No. You're told you can instead work out at a 'sister gym' somewhere else in town, but that's extremely inconvenient. I and other regular gym-goers should not have to be 'punished' for a fighting event being held at the gym. These promotions should be held elsewhere and not interfere with regular members' experiences. The way the gym goes about this feels amateur and unprofessional.
- The gym caters too hard to the martial arts crowd here, allowing them to skirt past typical gym rules and general courtesy. It's not uncommon that I'm working out and a member of the martial arts squad will connect to one of the gym's massive bluetooth speakers which are left near the martial arts mats, and absolutely blare obscene music (doesn't matter what the music is, really) at the loudest possible volume, drowning out the ambient gym music and everything else - I can't even hear my own in-ear headphones due to how loud it is. What does the gym do when you complain about it? Nothing. They're scared to do something because it's a member of the martial arts crowd. If this was a one-time occurrence, it would be easy to brush aside. However, this has happened at least 5 times in the last couple of months. It's obnoxious.
Overall, I'm pleased enough to keep coming back, but they absolutely need to stop closing the gym for fight promotions, and also need to take general member courtesy and wellbeing a bit more seriously. A massive bluetooth partybox speaker should not be left in plain sight for anyone to connect to (you'd think people would be considerate enough to not connect to it and completely disregard everyone else's sanity, but alas, people are shitty).

Great gym with a lot of equipment. They even have grappling and kick boxing training there. Open 24 hours too. No hidden fees or anything either. My only criticism is it could be a little bit cleaner, especially the locker room.

Gym wise, It's a good gym, front staff is great. If I had any comments about the physical gym, I'm not a huge fan when they randomly close for a day for events. That's not my problem I shouldn't have to pay for it.
My main reason for the low rating is the payment center. Lets be frank, alllll gyms are slimy with this and make it annoying to cancel memberships on purpose. They are not unique to that. But either way, during my journey of getting my membership canceled, I've been billed, in my opinion, wrongfully about 2 times. I'll eat the first 1 or 2 times. But after that, just consistently billed. I'm still wondering if they'll bill me again this month. who knows. Of course it's completely my fault according to them.

Legit gym, clearly made because they always wanted a gym. Not at all some hollow "front" that can be bragged about by people who are already millionaires (before and during economic crises) thanks to their cutting edge live streaming (ie No BORING Original Creative content. Classic reacting and judging of content, since streamers know enough about creative work to say anything about it. Since streaming is superior to boring work that people have to "think about" and "work on"- Subjective criticism is perfectly fine.)
I'm only roasting, streamers do charity and Ironforge, I think ha hosted such events. The charity is especially kind, since we all know- If you're a famous streamer, you deserve better things than people who are still making the mistake of trying to find success though real effort.

Great gym, friendly staff, increasingly good equipment, clearly taking feedback and buying new equipment as a result, clean. I saw some reviews about not fitting in if you're not fit - I am definitely definitely not fit (I'm working on it) but I fit right in, and had no issues. Really like the tall ceilings, makes it feel comfortable and open. Bathrooms seem fine, I haven't used the showers so can't comment. Cardio equipment is slightly lacking but for me it's not enough to take me down to a 4 star. If you're only focusing on cardio, you may enjoy it less.

Its a nice gym, but definitely built for a different generation. It has the old style look of a warehouse Iron gym, but you'll immediately tell its not. Some of the equipment is a bit dated which is ok because its still functional and gets the job done, but they could definitely use some more weight lifting plates. I went when there was hardly anyone in the gym and I can see during peak times that people will be fighting for plates. I think there will be too much competing with the Strongman section, the squat racks and other benches. What I enjoyed the most is it has a mixture of everything. Has strongman equipment, has your general weightlifting gear for whether you are looking for self improvement or body building. Just have to make sure there is sufficient equipment for everyone to use. I also did like the MMA portion of the gym as well. If I go again I would definitely like to try that out. Something I would like to point out. Staff is friendly, but management should implement another ground rule to the list. My first time there, someone was Vaping in the weight room. I'm not against smoking or vaping it just does not belong inside a gym. They might be a little too relaxed on the rules and they should be careful. To me it just sets a bad example. I go to the gym for health and exercise and the last thing I want to see is someone Vaping on the gym floor. Anyway not trying to be too critical just be a little more stern with the rules. Overall I did enjoy my workout and I think its worth a visit. I hope the gym grows and I look forward to seeing there progress.

Overall/Positives: Nice local, small gym. Has mostly everything you would need as a lifter with a variety of machines to benches/racks/platforms. Everything is spaced out pretty well. Front desk were really nice, shoutout to the person I chatted with. Some unique equipment I hadn't seen at other gyms. Came on a Monday after work (6PM), had plenty of open spaces so no wait. The classes looked like the biggest feature here, will definitely try a drop in class. Would recommend and come back if in the area.
Things that could be improved in my opinion: some plates don't appear consistent, aside from the different brands, the same brand ones can vary a little in size. Maybe more air circulation would be nice.
Things to note: The gym is 24/7, but for members, if you plan to drop in, plan accordingly! You can also do a week-long pass too but was told it's most worth if you plan on actually dropping in multiple days. Day pass was $10.

Coach Cade and Coach Josh’s Muay Thai program is bar none the best in Texas! They really care and teach you how to fight and defend yourself, not just do cardio. Diamond Back Muay Thai over 10th Planet

Dr. Mizkif helped me pick the right prescription steroids so that I can be big and strong just like him. I love that he’s so transparent about his steroid use and helps other people at the gym pick the right steroids for them! I’m getting HUUUUUGE!!!

Gym is outstanding. MMA program is great, and the equipment they provide is more than enough. Jasmine at the front is so welcoming and always has a smile on her face. 10/10 will come back again.

Visited this gym. Very spacey, girls are hot, affordable membership, and if you get lucky, you can meet your favorite twitch stremer like Emiru and Emily.

I've been checking out Iron Forge Gym on social media, and it seems like a great place to work out! The equipment looks top-notch, and the atmosphere is motivating. However, I've noticed something in the live streams that concerns me for the safety of the members.
Sometimes, after finishing a set on a machine, people seem to slump down and lie on the floor right next to it. With the gym being busy, this creates a tripping hazard for others using the area. I understand being tired after a tough workout, but I think it's important to move to a safer resting spot. Perhaps the gym could encourage this or provide designated stretching/cooldown zones or a policy to not lay down on the floor, unless in a safe area.
Overall, Iron Forge Gym looks like a fantastic facility, and I hope this potential safety issue can be addressed.

Honestly I like this gym, there were lots of members, and many were filming their workout, which I thought was very impressive, the dedication to film your workouts in order to improve your technique is admirable. And I could tell most of the people in the gym were serious about their gym progress because they filmed their whole workout probably to watch themselves afterwards to improve technique. Amazing gym I was super impressed

Amazing gym, management said new equipment is coming soon so that will be nice, I got a membership cheap before they get the new equipment. The mma classes are also incredible, the best teachers in all of Texas. I especially love one of the workers there.. oh what is his name.. Wake I think he is called, he is a very nice guy and taught me a lot about life. I always talk to him when I go to the gym, he should get a raise.. infact he should be the manager of the gym, he is just the best, and very handsome too. Also they sell these cookies at reception, if you haven’t tried them you need too.. protein healthy cookies, just wow this gym has it all

I enjoyed my one time going there, but my second free day I could go to the gym I was shocked to find it closed for 2+ days. Apparently, they were hosting some MMA event with fighters no one has ever heard of. I'm not going to watch random IG videos to find out if a gym is open or closed. This is just a gym for content creators and random events, not a place a regular person can rely on to stay fit. I'm going back to Gold's Gym.

Environment was very friendly, and as a gay man I felt very welcome - the owner (who is a small Italian man) even offered me a massage in the showers, extremely kind of him. Not a phone or camera in sight 🫶🏼

After seeing some of the 1 star reviews we decided to take it upon ourselves to see if some of them were fake. The first “review bust” was that they locked the door at 3PM and lots of bald men. We arrived at 3:15 and did not encounter any locked doors. Slightly disappointed to say there was only one bald man in the entirety of the gym :/ The next two reviews did scare us slightly saying one person broke their legs using a machine and the other his hands… we tried many machines but despite our VIGOROUS testing, our hands and legs remain intact. I will say we didn’t get to all of the reviews we wanted including the water or merch, but will continue working out at this fine establishment. Front desk service 10/10

This gym has everything: MMA (bjj/muay thai/ wrestling), bodybuilding, and strongman equipment. The community is so much better than your typical corporate gym too and they’re 24/7 now

It’s awesome that this gym brought out the goat Ronnie Coleman but don’t have people wait for an hour or more just to not meet him. I understand the streams that own the gym want their time but kinda feels like they just said screw everyone waiting. Sad to see a gym sell out like that.

Influencer mad house. Nothing but groups of kids hogging machines with their cameras. If you’re serious about lifting do not come here. I will continue to go to Big Tex Gym and never return.

Was visiting Austin and my bf wanted to come here to work out while in the area, it was great! Friendly receptionists, nice equipment, and wasn’t crowded. The gym we normally go to back home also has a lot of people constantly recording so people streaming and recording themselves didn’t bother us, especially because they were polite about moving their stuff when asked.
