I scheduled a once weekly private gymnastics lesson at the cost of $75.00 for 30 minutes. I thought it exorbitant but worthwhile if beneficial to my daughter's goal to improve skill in a specific area.

When scheduling I made it clear that my daughter suffers from serious migraine headaches. That there might be times that if a headache was in progress, we would cancel but before the time of the lesson ( 7:30pm)

February 24, 2025. After my 18 year old daughter phoned to cancel, my credit card was charged the $75.00 anyway.

When i objected , the manager ( owner?) wrote a long descriptive narrative about why she charged the amount regardless of my daughter's attendance or not. It's her policy to do do.

We won't be back.

I cannot say enough great things about J&R Gymnastics! All my children love coming here and they are really learning great skills! Kat in the office is patient and so easy to work with. I recently hosted my daughter's 8th birthday party at J&R Gymnastics, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience! The two coaches who acted as hosts were absolutely outstanding. They went above and beyond to ensure that every child, ranging from 3 to 14 years old, had a fantastic time.

Not only did they keep all the attendees entertained and engaged throughout the party, but they also prioritized safety, which gave me peace of mind as a parent. What truly stood out was the personalized attention they gave to my daughter. So far we are loving the gym! Communication is clear and easy. The rules and expectations are well written and clear. They have a makeup policy that, if everyone participates, is very functional and fair. I've got 3 different aged group girls and they are having a blast! They keep the groups small so everyone gets attention from their coach.

Our girls have gone to J&R Gymnastics nearly their entire life and have learned a lot of skills that have helped them be healthier, smarter, and stronger. Once we were climbing in Alaska and their skills from gymnastics helped them navigate some boulders. They also made a lot of friends they've kept up with over the years. Great place.

My daughter just finished her competition season on the xcel silver team.  We were not impressed. The xcel program needs some big changes. No communication from as simple as here are the links for uniforms, down to if there's going to be practice on a meet weekend if your child doesn't compete on Saturday. I sent many emails voicing my concerns for this team as well as many other parents. Skills my daughter didn't have at a ready to compete level were placed into her routines. When I asked about removing them she was told "you've been killing that cartwheel on beam" when in reality she hadn't landed it in a single comp all season and was recieveing a .5 deduction at every meet for a skill that wasn't even required for her level. I asked for private lessons to help her obtain these skills and get them comp ready and I got one. Then I was told they were short staffed and they didn't have time to work with her outside of class. We were promised changes time and time again and after we complained we would get change for about a week and then it would go back to the way it was. It very much seems like the xcel program has been pushed to seguin and forgotten about. In the last 2 weeks I have seen some decent changes and I hope they stick this time. This program has the potential to be great and all of these kids are amazing athletes. I just wish it was given the attention it deserves.

This place sucks. My daughter started here when she was 4 and she's now six. There is horrible service and management doesn't seem too concerned to do anything about it. Most of the coaches here seem uninterested and unenthusiastic at this facility. My daughter's last "coach" Hailey had a horrible attitude. She made my daughter cry by not helping her out of the ball pit at the end of class when all of the other kids were already gone. When I confronted her about the issue, she was not in the least concerned with the way my daughter's feelings were hurt or caring in any way. In fact she seemed interested in defending herself in an extremely immature way and began yelling with attitude and ignorantly telling me to not bring my daughter to her class anymore since I felt like she wasn't doing her job. It was completely unprofessional. This is probably the 5th complaint I've had regarding the service here from the coaches.
On another note my daughter never learned anything new in those two years. I honestly cannot think of anything in particular that she surprised me with, out on our trampoline at home. She wasn't able to learn a cart wheel due to neglectful coaching. 2 years enrollment/ she went once a week from ages 4-6.

With regards to the companies management they would have an overall 1 star rating. I made sure to contact one of their leads to request how we wanted to structure our daughters 3rd birthday so that we could meet the needs of children with many dietary restructions. They agreed to the arrangement and did not contact me again. Upon arriving they stated they would not honor it because their owner decided against the arrangement. I spoke to a manager with my complaints but it was not resolved. At this point I feel that it was a mistake for me to want to provide our business to them just so we support a local business. They charged more money, for less time, and with no flexibility than another close gym our friends recently used. If I had been informed that they would not honor their agreement I would have taken my business elsewhere.

With all that being said the staff at the facility during the birthday party (Ally & Dakota) were fantastic. In fact they are only reason I am not giving 1 star.
