I have certifications in yoga, personal training, and obtained a black belt in Bushidoken Karate. I also developed and sustain a self defense programs based on a variety of different martial arts.

Josh is amazing! Before I started working with Josh, I had been suffering with debilitating shoulder pain. I tried stretching on my own. I had even tried massages and getting stretched. Nothing provided relief beyond a couple of hours. Josh noticed that I was not hitting hard in kickboxing class. I told him about my pain and limited range of motion. I remember his eyes lit up. He said "I can help with that." I took a chance and signed up. In my first session, Josh went right to work and took me through some stretches and strengthening exercises. I left feeling tired and sore but in a good way. The next morning I woke up free of shoulder pain! After just one session! Only one! I would not have believed it was possible had I not experienced it myself.
I have had other trainers in the past. All of them very good. Josh, however, is by far the most outstanding. He is encouraging and knowledgeable. He makes workouts fun. Even if he does not specifically say so, I know he adjusts exercises so that they are doable for my current fitness level but hard enough to continue building me up. I leave each session having learned something new and feeling eager to practice what I have learned that day. I highly recommend Josh!

When I first joined Coach Joshua I did not know what to expect and was honest about my lack of self-defense experience. He respects your schedule and personalizes your training, as we immediately got into training after explaining what I wanted out of the program.

It has been over 4 months training 3 times a week consistently.
I came from having a basic understanding of exercising, to being able to properly defend myself, identify my weak points, and identify areas I never knew needed improvement after every session.

Here are a few things I have been able to learn and improve within this time:
-Boxing
-Kickboxing
-Sparring
-A novelty of thought out and unique stretches
-Balance (I was never able to properly kick with my right foot and now I feel more confident on each side of my body as I continuously improve)
-Calisthenics
-Proper form (breathing, stance, stretching, sprinting, and more)

Coach Joshua overall is an honest, respectful, talented, exceptionally hard working, and a great person to work with. With his ability to be a keen listener, and extensive knowledge in all aspects of fitness and health, he is a great teacher who opens the door for you to be the best version of yourself.

At the end of every session I always leave feeling accomplished and grateful for the opportunity to work with a great teacher.

If you’re looking for a sign to do it - this is it. Josh is the best trainer in Texas - whether you’re an amateur, or have been an athlete your entire life. He will create a workout regime designed for YOUR goals, and provide you much motivation to do it. The best part, the workouts go by quickly because you’re having fun, however, they’re very challenging/rewarding.

Had I been training on my own, there would have been several times I would have quit during the workout because I was tired. With Josh, I continue to push myself to new levels, and I’ve become incredibly proud of my efforts and the results they’ve produced. I’m much more confident, physically and emotionally. I started working with Josh in late January 2022. We’ve had about 20 1:1 sessions together and I just started his 90 day kickboxing class. Both the personal instruction and class have been excellent. I took a body fat composition analysis just before we started working together (dexascan.com) and in 3 months lost 15 lbs of fat, gained 6 lbs of muscle and dropped my body fat percentage by 6 percentage points (~34% -> 28%). This was working with Josh in addition to taking up running 3-4 times a week on a novice running plan as well as intermittent fasting 8 hours on, 16 hours off.

I know I can achieve my goals working with Josh. He’s the best in the business and I’d recommend him to anyone.

It has been really an exceptional experience training with Joshua. He is extremely professional — always punctual, always sending reminders the day before. He is also extremely knowledgeable — his workouts are always challenging and innovative and different, and most of all tailored to what I need at the time.

Fundamentally, though, training comes down to results. I’ve been training with Joshua for a little over two months. I came in with a nearly locked shoulder and a hurt knee, neither of which give me trouble anymore after targeted work. I'm a 58 y.o., very over weight lady who has been working out with Josh for approximately two and a half months. I also have Degenerative Arrhritis which limits my mobility. With Josh's Encouragement, His Workout Plan for my Specific Needs and His Years of Experience in the Martial Arts have Given me the Confidence and Ability to do things I haven't done in years. Josh is really accommodating during his workouts and very in tuned to his clients needs. Since last summer I suffered from two concussions, a fall that injured my right hip, plus dealing with chronic pain from an autoimmune disease. I needed a physical therapy that would cover all the basis, thus I signed up for kickboxing and grateful to have found my Coach when I did. Josh significantly helped me improve the mobility in my leg, as well as, my hand eye coordination. My balance was completely off and within a month he had me exercising my legs to the point I could balance comfortably in tree poses again. He knows when to push you to your limits, but also knows when you need to take breaks and/or switch up the exercise routine. He finds your strength aka “weapons”, whether it be your hands or elbows, to focus on the best self defense for you. He makes sessions very enjoyable; it’s always a fun environment and knows how to uplift your spirits.

I sought Josh out about 4 months ago at TFK when I was in a deep, very deep, rut. It felt like a depression. I feared that my best was behind me after the challenges of 2020, and for me more personally, a break-up. I had stopped exercising; I was eating too much; all the tension and COVID realities were starting to take their toll on me both physically and emotionally. I was beginning to struggle with body image, and I was having trouble feeling any sort of passion about anything. I was resigned to the fact that I would probably have to get rid of half my closet, and I considered going to see, for the first time in my life, a therapist.

However, I remembered that in the past I had a great experience with a personal trainer when I lived in Harlingen (my home town). I never felt better about myself than during that time when I was working out hard and regularly. For me, the problem was that since moving to ATX, I kept falling off the wagon. I had not been able to find someone I wanted to stick with -- someone whose combination of personality, training, and technique "clicked" with me.

Thank Heavens I found Josh! Josh is that right person for me. He has the magic combination of humanity and authoritativeness that I need. And if you do what he says, you'll see results --and quickly. He's not a guy who will coddle you, or let you make excuses. But that's because he cares deeply about helping people evolve into the better versions of themselves.

His workouts are fun and incredibly efficient, super challenging and results oriented. He gives you simple goals for your diet-- calorie limits and protein intake goals-- and tracks your progress weekly. In the last 3 months my outlook has changed completely. I am back to my old self again--confident, happy, energetic, and strong minded. I am thrilled with the physical results so far, I've lost almost 8 percentage points on body fat and about 10 pounds. I have been working with Josh since July 2019 and I can say that in my experience he is an extremely talented personal trainer.
My focus is on boxing and fitness with him and each class is fresh and innovative in what we do. While our baseline is boxing, he has added kickboxing, wing Chun, & even grappling into the workouts. Besides being genuinely friendly and encouraging, Josh will also vary up the workouts based on the condition I am in (due to travel, hurt back, or ramp it up when I'm feeling great)!
The other key thing for me besides the great instruction is the flexibility in using the classes. I travel a lot for work and I don't want to waste the money I have spent for the training. While we have a base schedule, when flexibility is required, Josh is able to accommodate it.
If you are looking for a genuinely great, innovative trainer, Josh is the guy for you.

I've worked with Josh in terms of personal training since late July 2019 and have seen significant progress in my muscle gains and strength, particularly my arms, shoulders, back, glutes & legs! I've never been athletic and always on the smaller build regardless of how many kickboxing classes I've taken. Great trainer for someone who works out or even someone just beginning. I have never worked out before and have already seen results in one week. Josh makes sure to only let you do exercises you can handle while also making sure you stretch and don’t get injured. He has also helped me with a meal plan to help speed up results.

Joshua helped me out when I needed help with my shoulder. It was in a ton of pain and I thought it was dislocated. Turns out the muscle in my shoulder was not getting the proper treatment or training to allow my shoulder and arm move all around. A few short excerises and doing them a few times a day. 1 week later I almost have a 80% recovery in my arm.

This guy is the best, doesn't let you fail and keeps you motivated when you're feeling down.
