Update: the pool is still cold. There are people in their 70 and 80s and it should be tolerable for them. The restrooms have been a little cleaner but still mildew. A little mildew cleaner would do the trick. Still love Joe the instructor. He is amazing! He is very attentive to his class members and takes the time to know their names and encourage them to move at their best abilities. He al was say "The mind controls the body", and that is so true. He is the reason I keep coming!
The pool is too cold 80% of the time. There is mold on the pool walls. The women showers have mildew and rust and it does not seem cleaned that often. I attend the aqua class and love the instructor. He is the only reason I stay at this location.

On another positive note la fitness now has a European company smoothie bar. I had the strawberry one today it was really good. That will be great after I have big workouts!! So now the main thing is la fitness really needs to have the parts to fix the equipment fast enough the weight time is just crazy.

They have done an update on the sauna. There is now more seating, new tile and it seems they have put in a special wood so now I like the sauna much more than before.
I have depression and found working out really helps so I've been doing it everyday since I was 30. I just started to do cardio before my workout. I was shocked when I did 20 min incline I was able to do a hudge chest workout!! I've done that before and not noticed much difference!!
I have delt with fatigue the last five years!! I mostly only used the bike. I have now started running 🏃‍♀️ on the treadmill for just 7- 10 min every day now almost!! I am so surprised at how much overall I am feeling sooo much better!! Even when I ran before running didn't make me feel good!! I actually feel a lot less tired now that I've been running for 10 min about. But overall much of what I said below is still right!!

A lot of legs and equipment is taking a long time to fix again unfortunately!! Hope this gets fixed soon!! They should order extra parts instead of making people wait months!! I now wonder if it will be fixed by Christmas!! I have reduced the stars due to poor maintenance upkeep!!

It's an OK facility but doesn't standout. Basketball courts have no ventilation, equipment such as treadmills and benches every now and then are out of service etc. No Olympic platforms available at this location either. Frankly the Cedar Park location absolutely blows this place out of the water.

Unfortunately, my experience so far at this gym has been very disappointing. The gym has been dirty every time I have gone, which is usually in the evening. Tonight I complained to the front desk worker about the restrooms but nothing was done. They were overflowing with tissue and hadn't been flushed? Trash on the ground both in the gym and locker rooms, dirt, hair, etc. I have also never been greeted at night when I have come in. I will not be renewing my membership. @the owner...it would be professional if you responded to the negative reviews, not just the positive ones. Update. So many machines broken. Most are rusty and dirty.

I’ve been a member here for a few years now. I’ve slowly seen the decline. Broken machines, jacuzzi dirty and looks greenish, rusted handles. The sauna was just upgraded and no rubber mat was put back in. I ran in after my swim session and nearly burned my feet. Now I take flip flops everywhere. The floors need a good power washing along with the showers. Today one of the benches had dirt and sand and I notified the lady at the front before I even did anything. An hour later it was still there. They really need to step it up.

Rude, dishonest managers. Several years ago I was offered a free week. When I returned on day 2 I was informed I only had a day pass. There was a very tall black guy who just swore I was never promised a week pass though I had the emails to prove it. He had my ID and when I he went to give it back to me he would hold it up high trying to get me to react and make it look like I was picking a fight. I returned later to speak to his boss and it was a short hispanic guy who accused me of lying. He actually said "Well, it's like an abusive boyfriend, why would you go back?" I went back to tell this guy's boss about my experience and see if I could get what I was promised. I have WellHub which would allow me to use this place at no cost to me but I you couldn't pay me to put up with such treatment.

This location is clearly being milked for profit by the franchise owner because there has been no investment in facilities in over 3 years, Worst LAF I've been to. Repairs take a long time, and no new equipment, and the air conditioning always has issues in the summer. Equipment is old (the ellipticals have the old wide iPhone cables instead of the newer one, and forget Bluetooth; half of them don't work). They seem to have a hard time maintaining the machines and the showers are awful. Free weights are good, however...when it isn't too crowded. Their kettlebell selection is too limited for a facility it's size Racquetball courts are good and usually well maintained, but suffer because of unreliable air conditioning. Having to pay a fee to reserve is a very 1980s approach, but makes sense because it's clear they want to hit you with more charges than an airline. I'd be fine with a purely financially driven approach to members, but if you think that includes equipment that reliably works, take a pass.

I like this location because it's really close to everything that I need... For some reason, we always get stopped when checking in, we're hispanic and im not sure if this is what makes us get asked, but any time a white person goes by, there are no questions asked whatsoever.
By the way, management guy named Al? Horrible communication and customer service. Incredible. I had never heard anyone talk to people, to my mom, or myself the way he did and dismissed us and told us not to have attitude when I had never seen him before in ALL the years I've been coming. The best word to describe this LA Fitness location is "dump". I've been a member here for years, and the following are just a few examples as to why this place is such a joke and why I'll be leaving for the new Gold's location on Burnet as soon as it opens:

1) Popular equipment is broken and isn't fixed for LITERALLY WEEKS, if not longer. One of the pec/deltoid fly machines has been out of order for at least a month. No exaggeration. I find it hard to believe there's nobody who can fix it, given LA Fitness is such a large company with so many locations. Surely there's a resource to get parts and get machines repaired more quickly. There was a period recently in which multiple cable machines were broken and remained so for multiple weeks at a time. Give me a break.

2) One of the only water fountains near the strength training area has been broken for LITERALLY MONTHS. Let me rephrase: one of the only water fountains near the strength training area has been broken and pulled entirely out of the wall, resting, non-functional, on the ground. FOR LITERALLY MONTHS. I could Google "plumber" and have someone there tomorrow to fix it. Not only is this unacceptable and hard to believe, it's a health and safety issue.

3) Overall dinginess of the club and equipment - multiple drop ceiling panels broken or simply missing, multiple adjustable benches have broken cushions and need to be repaired, and I'm sure I could quickly identify a litany of other egregious examples of how dumpy this place is.

4) Lax/no enforcement of rules - open-toed shoes everywhere, people vaping while lifting, which we all have to then breathe in. Total joke.

5) Related to 4), staff is indifferent at best, negligent at worst. Just a few nights ago, we were greeted by the exceedingly rare sight of a staff member actually vacuuming the weights area. They then proceeded to disappear for 20+ minutes, presumably to empty the vacuum bag. Meanwhile, the vacuum just sat in the middle of an extremely high traffic area, and during this time, I witnessed multiple guests trip on the cord that was spread carelessly all over the ground.

It is a good place, I think the price is excellent considering all that you get, a variety of machines, and different amenities such as pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and more. Points extra I value:

The bathrooms and dressing rooms of women and men are separated.
They have pool lifts in the pool and in the jacuzzi, also bathrooms with banks, that contribute to a more inclusive environment for people with mobility issues.

Things I consider "issues":

I think hey could do better with the cleanliness and the maintenance...
Several machines and bathrooms out of service.

I would give it 3.7/5 in general due to the issues with the cleanliness, you really could do better here guys, but I don't want to give just 3 stars due to some pretty good things they have.

Love the opportunity to teach yoga classes here, amazing clients and welcoming community. Much cleaner facilities and kind staff and customers than other gyms.

More chill and basically just as nice as Equinox ($300+ monthly) but for $35 monthly at LA Fitness for basically the same thing and even more facilities and amenities.

February 2025: I cancelled my membership with them last year, I wanted to use a pass offered by my employer just shortly after I had signed up. The rep that assisted me with this said he would cancel “freeze” my account so I could still come and use the gym. (It was not explained that i will still be charged for annual fees!). During this time I became ill and stopped going to the gym. I am still suffering from a medical condition.. Today I noticed a transaction from them for my annual fee I call the Anderson office and Jonathan told me I need to call corp. I called corp & Jacob Ticha was very unprofessional had an attitude with me the whole time because I am requesting for a refund on the unauthorized transaction. Need someone to reach me back or transfer that annual fee back. I paid y’all the initiation fee + annual fee + a months fee last year and didn’t even get to use y’all at all. And someone failed to tell me what the “freeze” means in your terms. Which I feel highly scammed!!

April 2025: Here we are again another charge. Downloaded the app and it says my account is active. Never asked to reactive. Fraudulently activities seem to be happening with this gym! Beware!!!

Update: edited from 2 stars to 1 star. Working around every trainer using 2-3 stations, never cleaning, having conversations to chill and hold all of those stations, and teaching new gym goers WRONG is crazy. If you’re shopping for a gym to frequent, avoid this place.

I’ve been to a lot of gyms, and I go to this one 2 hours a session, 5-6 days a week. I am really disappointed in the cleanliness and more so the lack of interest for cleanliness from the staff. The trainers rarely to never clean up with trainees, even when the wipes are stocked. Do prepare you won’t find all wipes and paper towels in the locker room stocked. Reporting a concern for the trainers’ not finding time to clean did not make a difference. I will be swapping gym chains when I move soon.

P.s. gym equipment is like the highway here, many stations will be down at any given time. I hope to see change!

Gym used to be good. Some minor unavailabilities here and there and occasionally running out of paper towels. This year the place has been run into the ground. There's always 2-5 common machines that are out of order / "scheduled for service" that don't get fixed for several weeks. There's a water fountain that was running water for weeks because it was broken in the common area. Finally, they just removed it without replacing it. Sinks in men's locker room do not work and have clearly degraded. Bathroom is the only place I can actually use the sink nowadays besides them having a total of 6 or so faucets in the locker room. Do not go here if you need consistent access to machines

I only go to this gym because it's cheap and close to my house. Other than that, I hate it. For the amount of members and location in a good part of town, the variety, number and availability of the equipment is laughable. Machines are often out of service for weeks at a time and it's the only one of that machine. Benches are cracked with exposed foam. Good luck finding an unripped yoga mat. There's usually clumps of dust and hair around the bases of the weight benches. You have to be really flexible with your training plan because the piece of equipment you want to use is probably taken and if there is another one, it's broken. Find a better alternative if you can.

I frequent many LA fitness gyms across the country, being I am a traveler in healthcare, and the standard seems to be lacking across the board with this company. There are multiple repairs always to be made equipment and even flooring. This has been one of the dirtiest this past year I have visited and not kept well. I bring my own wipes here for two reasons - the machines are filthy and the wipes/sprays/paper towels are constantly empty. I now only go here with convenience to proximity of my stay towards the end of my current contract. I've commuted 35mins away these last two months just to avoid this gym, but here we go again for the last month. Not pleased.

I rarely leave reviews, and even more rarely do I write negative ones, but my experience at this LA Fitness compels me to share my thoughts.

First and foremost, the lack of internet is a major issue; my phone had no signal anywhere in the gym. Additionally, this location advertises a basketball court, yet it has been removed, forcing me to travel an extra 20 minutes to access one at another gym.

The tipping point for me, however, was the unprofessional behavior of the sales team. I dealt with Aaron, who misled us about guest access included in our package. When we sought clarification, he dismissed our concerns with a scoff and refused to assist us further. As a sales rep myself, I found his treatment of customers not only unacceptable but truly disappointing.

At around $50 a month, this gym simply isn’t worth it. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your fitness needs.

15 minutes before close to tell you they close in 15 minutes, then again, 5 minutes later to tell you they close in 10 minutes. I am a current member here and don’t see any other way to leave feedback but this; this place is GROSS. They run out of sanitary wipes all the time. If middle or upper management thinks this is how they’re going to save a buck it’s pathetic. Today not a single sanitary wipe was available on the floor during the 6pm rush. For the past year that I have been a member here, there has only been one sink in the women’s restroom that was working… out of 5. Only a couple weeks ago was it fixed. The whole place is a dirty mess. The vending machines are always out of order. The equipment that needs to be serviced takes quite a while to be fixed. Then, the week after part of the gym floor is soaked in water, and the water is turned off to the whole building, they post signs asking for good reviews. Not at all worth paying for a trainer or a monthly membership.

I tried to cancel multiple times and they won't let it happen, eventually they said I have to fax or mail a cancellation application which couldn't be found on their website and their management does not have a copy of!
They've been adding months to my balance even though I have not used their facilities during the charged time. Let alone their rusty tools, and their smelly bathrooms, it is a challenge to try and stay in their bathrooms for more than a few minutes!

I would recommend trying something else instead like house of gains or any other local gym! They'll take care of you and their contracts won't carry claws upon claws to keep charging you endlessly!

This gym has gone downhill. First a stabbing, then patrons who cannot swim taking over lap lanes, then men CONSTANTLY in the ladies changing room, mold in the pool skimmers and today an old white May YELLING racial slurs at a man because he perceived that he was talking too loudly on his cell phone. There is no one at the front desk, no one intervened, and honestly I don’t feel safe working out here.

Great place but could use a maintenance crew. The same two water fountains have been screwed up for at least the past 6 weeks. Maintenance is not their strong suit. But the gym is great, the equipment too.

This location has had the same numerous machines “scheduled for service” and I have asked 3 different employees/management about it and received the same, generic robotic statement verbatim about how “some machines have parts that are being shipped from China so it takes longer to arrive.” Um, nice excuse. 6 months is a little excessive so admit that you are just being cheap AF and lying to your members (I see several reviews posted previously about the same machines being out, from 2 years ago!) Not to mention practically all water fountains not working AND the temperature being so hot inside the building. I’m finishing out my month to month membership and moving to Lifetime. Counting down the days.

8:30 AM yoga instructor never showed. No communication by instructor with the desk staff re this no show. South staff usually offers to follow up with instructor but this location did not offer this option. Frustrated that I made specific plans for this class that never materialized.

I have been going to this gym for almost 4 years and the quality has been a on huge decline for the past 2 years. Machines scheduled for service for weeks to months at a time constantly. Dirty as can be in the bathrooms and the gym as a whole, as well as half of the sinks never having soap or paper towels. I think this is due to only having 1-2 janitors. The people here are the worst. Finding literally poops on the bathroom floor is a common occurrence here. The gym enters people into their “giveaways” if they give 5 stars on google, because they know how bad this gym is. Do not come here. Time to move gyms.

I tried out more than 5 gyms before deciding on this one. LA Fitness on Anderson wasn’t only a good choice, but the BEST choice. As a woman, finding a quality & comfortable gym can be a challenge.

Even after 2 months of coming to this gym, I know I made the right choice for many reasons:

1. Highest level of customer service.
- Don (A REAL PERSON not automated system) reached out to make sure I had the opportunity to use my free pass and experience the gym. Out of all the gyms I trialed, Don was the only gym rep that followed up and directly obtained feedback to make sure I had a good experience. He wasn’t pushy or over sales-y, and did a great job of making me feel welcome.
- Josh (A REAL PERSON not automated system) followed up and made sure to schedule a time to walk through my goals. He gave me a lot of insight, motivation, and guidance to set me on the right path towards progress. Some trainers try to force their goals on you, but Josh did an amazing job listening to me and being supportive.
- Bri (an amazing trainer) personally introduced herself and welcomed me to the gym. Her words of encouragement gave me extra motivation. She also ensured me to come to her if I ever have issues or feel uncomfortable in the gym, which gave me additional reassurance that the gym takes their client experience very seriously.

2. High level of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- It’s clear this gym prioritizes the client experience by keeping the space clean & as fresh as possible. It feels & smells clean. I’m not a person that likes that ‘old school’ gritty, dingy gym environment. I appreciate how well and how often this gym is maintained.
- Environment temperature. The gym temp is kept a constant cool temperature. Texas gets really hot and some gyms don’t handle that heat well, but even during the busiest hours, this gym still keeps a cool regulated (and non-humid) environment.

3. Wide variety of Equipment
- Large quantity of cardio equipment so I never have to wait for a machine
- A variety of weight machines, you’ll definitely find what you’re looking for
- A good section of free weights

4. Has all my needed amenities
- These were other non-negotiables I looked for: pool, hot tub, sauna, basketball court

Since starting at this gym & working with this team, I’ve already dropped over 4% BF & gained 3lb of muscle.

Overall, 10/10 experience so far. Highly recommend.

I love LA Fitness. So close to my home with every circuit machine I need and a great lap pool.
Recently, I met with training staff to plan for sessions to improve my health and wellness. Looking forward to a future of losing weight, toning up and completing my rehab.

Go to literally any other gym. If it’s 87* outside, it’ll be 88 inside this gym. They never keep the place maintained, and it smells worse and sweatier than a normal gym because guess what, the coolest I’ve ever seen it in here is 80*

Don't come here during lunch. Heed my warning. It's PACKED! go either before or after. Equipment was ok,sauna was nice and hot. Also water got shut off starting at 1pm which there were paper fliers posted on walls stating such. Hey at least stuff is getting fixed. Will return.

There isn’t enough equipment to accommodate the rush hour crowd. Waited for over 25 minutes for one of three squat racks but ended up leaving. What a waste of time and pre-workout.

Go to ANY other gym. They’re like a sleazy used car salesmen who forcibly trap you in a contract. I had to move out of state bc my brother died, and since my contract was in-state only, they made me pay my membership fee and my personal training fee (apx $300/mo) and refused to make an accommodations like transferring the contract to AZ. I offered to provide his obituary and my new ID with my out of state license. They’re slimeballs. Tim is shark and no matter how many times you say “no” to even initially signing up for this contract, he will argue with you about how “you’re not really serious about your health”, and hound you, and back you into a corner. I wish I wasn’t so vulnerable and unassuming upon going in there.

Before you go here, just look on Reddit to see how gross this company’s business practices are. There are horror stories, some worse than mine. Plus the gym is nasty- for real, I would work out with my trainer & when I’d go to wipe off/disinfect the machine I just sweated on, he’d say “you don’t have to do that”. It’s musty and nothing special.

There are plenty of gyms in Austin that are dedicated to the well-being of their clients, and where not everything is about $.

I finally just paid my last payment. I’ve had over 40 conversations with these people asking to transfer my membership or cancel it, and I was rudely and coldly told “no” every time I tried asking them to be reasonable. I hope this review sways at least one person from joining LA Fitness.

Continues to go down hill. One of the most filthy gyms I've workouted in. The photo added is every bench in the place. The showers in the men's room are 10X worse. I don't know how more people aren't sick.

If it weren’t so cheap it’d get one star. This location is so poorly run. The restrooms are always dirty, lacking paper towels, and half the sinks are regularly out of order. Many machines are out of service. Overhead lights are burned out. If you notify staff of anything they just say, “We know.” If this isn’t your absolutely necessary location or price go elsewhere.

Rude trainers, opens late, poor customer service, and constantly broken spa.

Rude Trainers will shoo you off machines - Today I was on a machine and another gym user came to use it after me. As we were loading his plates a trainer came up and told us he had been waiting for the machine - even though he had not been present there. We explained that someone else was getting on the machine, and the trainer told the other gym user he needed it for his client and to let him on it. So, yea, you can be thrown off a machine to fit a trainer's schedule here.

Opens Late - at least four times in the last year the gym has opened more than a couple minutes late. Once or twice people even gave up and went home.

Poor service - Aside from cleaning staff, no one really walks the floor. This leads to things like machine hogs who will hog one of the two Smith machines for 30+ minutes, people wantonly playing loud music, and people bringing duffels in and carting them around the floor.

Spa - It seems to be broken every few weeks.

I’ve only been here for a couple of weeks and it’s ok. So far I’ve noticed machines are dirty, wipes are always empty so I can’t wipe down machines, and the pool is green. I posted on my IG and my friend said the pool isn’t safe to swim in because it’s green. Idk how true that is but the facility should be cleaned better for the price I’m paying monthly. Might go back to my old gym. Still not sure.

I’ll continue to workout here, however management has oversold memberships and the equipment is suffering. I’m currently looking at a leg extension machine that has been unserviceable for 2-3 weeks.

And yes, acknowledging the sorry state of the men’s locker room, lackadaisical attitude of front desk personnel, and the smell of dope that wafts into the gym from the basketball court.

LA Fitness… take some ownership of your facilities and employee culture.

Other machines are failing as people “homestead” on what equipment works, knowing that options are limited.

I will say that things are a little bit better. There are new faces at the front desk and most seem engaged with their responsibilities.

The men’s bathroom remains horrid. Spot cleaning throughout the day would help mitigate the overflowing trash cans and level of filth experienced by the after-work crowd.

My biggest gripe remains the overcrowding. With the volume of memberships sold, put some of that money back into the facility, pay your staff more, and build a janitorial team.

As previously mentioned, my monthly membership cost is too good to go anywhere else.

Bumping to 2-stars as a show of good faith and hope for the future.

This gym looks like they can’t afford any repairs. Are they going bankrupt or just super poor management?

1. No hot water in showers for 3 weeks now
2. Family restroom out of service for 1 week
3. Calf machine out of service for 4 months.

LA Fitness Anderson Lane in Austin Texas, this gym lady’s shower doesn’t have hot water or water turns cold before finish a quick shower, problem has gotten worse as weather got colder, today 1/26/2024 water is completely ice cold in all showers. Front desk lady seemed annoyed when I reported the problem. Is it too much to ask to take a warm shower at this gym?

I travel nationwide for work and having an LA fitness membership makes it easy. Of all gyms in all the states I've been to, unfortunately the one closest to home is the worst. Equipment is always broken, never fixed despite a "scheduled for service". I've used cleaner bathrooms at music festivals and concerts. Austin, we can do better

I joined a few months ago. The salesperson explained the monthly fees. He explained that I could lower the monthly fees by paying an upfront amount (similar to paying points to lower your mortgage payment). At no time did he mention that there was also an annual fee. I joined and a month later saw a surprise charge on my credit card. I pursued the matter up the chain, but LA Fitness was unwilling to reverse the charge. I think LA Fitness engaged in an unethical business practice when they informed me of some of the fees, but not all of them. If you are thinking of joining, make sure you understand all of the fees that they will charge you. Buyer beware.
