Super bummed this LA Fitness will be completely closing down in a few weeks to remodel and transition into a completely different gym under a different name. This is by far the best LA Fitness in the area, but will unfortunately be turning into a knockoff Lifetime Fitness at $150+ a month.

Best LA Fitness I've been to. The weights are typically always re-racked in the correct locations and the gym itself is clean. Wish they'd bring back the paper towel dispensers, but it is what it is. Most of the negative reviews are from people that just like to complain.

I have heard, along with other members, that this location is going to close on August 15, 2025. The owner has decided to close this location and replace it with a Club One Studio. The owner of LA fitness also owns the club one studio. One of the major differences is that the club one studio will cost each member about $100-$150 a month compared to the $40 a month for a LA fitness membership.

This news has saddened all the members I have spoken to. We don’t know why the owners are choosing to switch clubs, especially after this LA fitness location is very popular with regulars. We love the way the gym is right now, especially the sauna and the pool. There will be no pool in the new club one studio.

To me, this seems to be nothing but a greedy move. Fitness owners in the industry know that people are becoming more healthy now more than ever, especially with the transparency of the human health and social services identifying poisonous substances in food items that are found at the grocery stores. The fitness lifestyle is becoming more and more popular and that is a good thing for humanity. But fitness owners see this as an opportunity to overcharge people and exploit their desire to become the best version of themselves. It’s quite disgusting.

Even if I had the money, I don’t know if I would spend $150-$200 on a gym membership. The owners of LA fitness have failed their loyal clients.

I would like to compliment the staff and management of the LA Signature Fitness Club on their willingness to hear my service requests and their action to solve the service requests. Recently I reported to the front desk that the men's sauna had loose boards. Multiple wooden boards were loose and nails were sticking up. I had never seen the sauna in such condition. The sauna was also very wet, so much more than normal. The front desk staff and I agreed that the cause of the wetness and so many boards loose at one time is because some fellow patrons enter the sauna directly from the showers and the pools; thus bringing into the sauna literal pools of water. In spending time in the sauna today, the previous mentioned service requests was heard and action was taken. The boards were more study and put together. However, I did notice pools of water in the sauna today. There were also some fellow patrons who came directly into the sauna after their visit from the pools and showers. Thus I can attest that indeed the multiple loose boards and uprights screws were in fact caused from much water brought in by some fellow patrons. Perhaps management can put sign on the sauna, "do not enter sauna if soaking wet" as vast amounts of water cause the wood to become water logged and loose; very quickly I might add. The gym and all amenities must of course be maintained which I would thank the staff and management for doing. But the task of policing such a clean, functional, and welcoming environment lies not only with the staff but also with the patrons.

You can tell that this LA Fitness Signature Club is different than your average LA Fitness. The lighting in the facility and tall windows brings a sense of freshness and positivity to the environment. All the machines that I have come across work well. The floors in the workout area and in the men’s locker room are consistently clean. The sauna, spa, and pool areas are well maintained. Showers consistently have ample shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They have a good variety of group class workout sessions. And if you have children, their kids club is open and operating.

The key to maintaining this level is consistency. Consistency in cleaning and overall proper operation of gym equipment and facilities.

⚠️ Watch Your Step – Safety Hazard at This Gym!

This LA Fitness location has the potential to land you in the ER, quite literally. As you walk in through the main entrance and head toward the cycling machines, there’s an elevated power strip/box directly in front of the bikes that’s nearly impossible to see at first glance.

I tripped and fell hard over it — and I’m not alone. At least four others have fallen in the same exact spot. That’s not a coincidence — that’s a clear design and safety flaw.

It’s incredibly dangerous, especially in a fitness environment where people are moving quickly and focused on their workouts. Until this hazard is addressed, be extremely cautious when approaching the bikes near the front of the gym.

A place meant to promote health shouldn’t be setting people up for injury!

Really bad experience at this LA Fitness location. I was in the middle of my workout when an employee named Sarah came up to me and said my membership was canceled — even though I pay through a third-party site and everything was still active.

What bothered me most is that she didn’t say anything when I scanned in at the front. Instead, she waited until I was already working out to come over and confront me, which felt unnecessary and disruptive.

When I told her I wanted to just cancel the membership because of the way the situation was handled, she got visibly upset and told me to leave — multiple times. I wasn’t being rude, just honest about how poorly it was handled.

Really disappointing customer service. There’s a better way to treat people.

1. The Aqua class often occupies two lanes, even when there are only three to four participants. Additionally, the instructor has been consistently rude and dismissive toward other swimmers.
2. There is a recurring issue with individuals entering the spa and swimming pool wearing only their underwear. This is both unsanitary and inappropriate for a public facility. Clear signage should be posted to inform guests of proper swim attire requirements and hygiene expectations. It’s also concerning that some users enter the pool without showering after workouts, which compromises the cleanliness of the facility.

The place itself and equipment are clean and well maintained. However, the clientele does not put their weights away. So rude and lazy. The place would be trashed if I didn’t put ALL of them away every time I go. It’s not the staff’s responsibility to pick up after grown adults. Management should fix that issue by enforcement of the member agreement. If you go there, put your weights back where you found them. Also, the AC is not the best yet they often have all the fans OFF. It is stuffy and unpleasant. This is a management decision again. Finally, 99% of trash is bottles and cans. Recycling could save a lot of money on landfill trash pickups that are mostly just made up of air and containers.

Really disappointed in this location. I was introducing my friend with a 7 day guest pass so she could get back in the gym and start her own membership.

Tell me why she had to pay $20 for a day pass during the 7 day guest pass?

Her trial started 3/29 and the GM made her pay $20 on what should be counted as day 7 (today which is 4/4). So, if yesterday was her last day to use the pass that would only be 6 days.

Here's an easy breakdown that the GM argued against:
Day 1: 3/29
Day 2: 3/30
Day 3: 3/31
Day 4: 4/1
Day 5: 4/2
Day 6: 4/3
Day 7: 4/4 Today! They made her pay on the 7th day! How is that offering a 7 consecutive day guest pass?

This is a case of either the GM not knowing what he's doing or false marketing. Either way, if you're going to advertise 7 consecutive days of a trial period that should mean she had 7 days to workout. Not 6!

He said the pass says 3/29-4/4 with 4/3 being the last day to workout. I'm confused because that's 6 days!

This LA owes my friend her $20 back.

I’m still trying to figure out why I’m paying extra for a “Signature” membership versus non-signature, is it the spicy attitude I encounter from the desk? This gym is just ok. My husband’s company has this gym as one of their options to enroll in. Anywho, since this is a signature club, I expect a higher standard. This “Signature” club is a joke. It’s $15 extra a month then a regular LA Fitness. This used to be fine because they offer towel service. Now they are charging $2 every time you use a towel. Initially called to see about getting the free 3 day pass. Spoke to a rep who told me that if I went ahead and signed up that day, that he would waive the $75 sign up fee. I didn’t have my card info on me so I asked if I could come in at 6pm for a meeting to get going.

Once I arrived, they asked if I had an appointment, which I told them yes, at 6. Employee who took my call was no longer there, so I went ahead and signed up with a different rep who would not honor the $75 fee being waived since they themselves did not offer it.

Followed up a few days later and the employee who did verbally agree to the deal was terminated. Called corporate and they told me that they would not honor verbal agreements from their employees.

Basically will tell you anything to sign up and not follow through with it. Asked to waive my monthly fee 1 time (which is significantly cheaper than the $75 fee) and they would not honor it. Nothing against this location and staff, but for corporate to not honor a verbal agreement from their employees speaks to their customer service.

I’ve been coming here since 2019, and in no way is this gym a “signature” gym. They are routinely out of paper towels and wipes. Some of the bathroom stalls don’t have hooks to hang your jackets (I know not that big a deal, but cmon it’s signature right). They also took away the towel service. I can’t wait til Lifetime opens.

My husband has consistently worked out at LA Fitness on Hwy 121 in Coppell since 2020, listed as a "Signature" location. Frequently, I go and wait for him in an area designated for waiting because there is a place to sit and a TV going. Over the years, I have waited there at least 50-60 times. We just tell the person at the front desk, "I'm going to wait", and they wave at us, I go sit down, and my husband goes to work out. Never a problem. However, today, Stephanie, stopped us and explained the "rules" saying that I couldn't wait there. Her tone was not rude and it was not kind either. Stephanie's hard-line stance spoke loudly to us demonstrating us that LA Fitness is overly inflexible and there is no consideration or courtesy for members who pay month after month and year after year. My husband will be canceling his membership, along with our friends who have been members there.

Poor management team at this location. A shame because the location and facilities are good. I have been reporting the specific item in the pic which is such an easy fix. I visit many of the locations in the DFW area, so I can tell you the Coppell location has the best customer service of them all! Each gym was clean & equipment the same, but what sets Coppell apart is the personnel, who provide superior customer service & are more knowledgeable than their Prospect counterparts. Thank you Amy for your help today. Been going to LA Fitness since the pandemic started , but this is the first time that an employee actually had a conversation with me while activating my membership. It took Amy less then 10 minutes to activate my membership and got me all signed up with the app .
This is the only LA Fitness that offers towels to its members since it’s a Signature club.
The gym is decent ; the equipments are cleaned and enough to cater to its members.

I retract my earlier review. While I did have a bad experience with this club, the staff has frequently met my needs and adequately managed this gym better than others in the DFW area. While it can get packed, the equipment is well maintained and fixed promptly when otherwise.

This Signature location is always great. The machines are in working condition, it’s clean, the temperature and air circulation are great, there’s space to move… all in all, one of my preferred workout destinations.

Towel service that I pay for… staff continues to say almost weekly that the machines (washer or dryer) are “broken” and there are no towels.

I have been going to this club for 8 months, and again today the gym was not open when I arrived at 5am today. This has happened at least once a month and I have to find a new gym in the mornings. I am planning of switching my membership.

How can this be called “the signature club” when it has less amenities than a normal LA fitness? It makes no sense to me. You can go down the street near music city mall and get a LA fitness that has more amenities than this one. This place doesn’t have any racquetball courts, no scales in the locker rooms, and their vending machines are either not stocked or broken half of the time.

The facilities are not very clean and I paid an extra fee for it. Some classes get very large at times which I've notice LA Fitness has taking the steps to sway some of us to other locations. Need more instructors like Sandy and Sonrisa.

This is one of the better LA Fitness’ in DFW. Modern, clean, great equipment, space and maybe the largest selection of free weights at any of their locations. What stands out to me as well is that there is a lot of windows, which help with natural light, so it doesn’t have the dimly boxed in feel to it on your eyes. I enjoy coming here to workout!

I was back in town for the holidays and was looking at gyms in the area. This was BY FAR the best, and offers more amenities than any other gym I’ve been to. I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a gym.

The gym is nice, clean and has a brighter atmosphere that motivates you to get your gains, BUT for a signature club, that turf NEEDS to be replaced expeditiously. The turf at the 7211 Skillman St location has far better turf - take notes corporate! (Will add photos at a later time if I can edit after posting)

By better, I can push a 90 lbs sled at the Skillman location, but not at the Signature location (turf is worn all the way out).

I called today to check charge on my credit card. "Sydney" is the name of lady who supposed to answer. She hunged up on my face. It is so disappointing to know how they treat customer. If you have a bad day it does not mean you misbehave with customer.

At LA fitness signature club at coppell - Manger Terry had such bad attitude with me today in our 15 min of conversation to provide information about the membership costs on an yearly basis , he was so rude , impatient to explain the details to me and had negative attitude , he kept rolling his eyes for any question I asked and had a condescending smile just because I was not ready to sign up today . He needs to learn how to interact with people properly .
Facility is great and all it needs is good attitude staff.

Signed up here after the Las Colinas location was under construction. Instead of upgrading my membership, the sales consultant signed me up for a NEW membership. I shouldn’t have trusted him when he said he was going to cancel my old membership at the Las Colinas location. What a SCAM.

This LA Fitness has the most helpful and upbeat staff, and it is the cleanest location in the area. The variety of free weights and newness of the equipment is well worth the membership. Jheron took good care of me! Looking forward to my workouts!

This LA Fitness signature club is really awesome gym! Always clean, great selection of equipment, and great facilities, and great people. I have been coming here for a couple years and my only concern I have is that they always have new front desk personal that are not always well trained and make stupid customer service. Other than that is definitely a very nice place to workout!

This place is clean and great the morning front desk staff is nice, but the thing that I’m rating to today is personal trainer Rick. He is consistently canceling and always makes an excuse that I feel is a lie because some of the things he’s says doesn’t line up. Which I overlooked many times and we had conversations about him getting better at communicating but doesn’t improve. Apparently I’m not the only one that feels this way about him so I would recommend that you don’t get him as a trainer which is unfortunate because his ability as a trainer is great but his professionalism is very poor. He is also constantly complaining about things and seems to get nervous when corporate is in the building.

The gym itself is fine, but they’ve got a Hotel California policy in effect: you can sign up anytime you want, but you can’t ever leave. *guitar solo*

In all seriousness, we may live in the digital age, but *this gym* will only let you cancel in person with a manager between the hours of 8 and 5, Monday through Friday. I don’t know about you, but most of us working stiffs have jobs in that conveniently chosen timeframe. So unless you want to take PTO to cancel your gym membership, they just keep charging you. You can also cancel by written notice—which I did using certified mail—and they *still charged me after canceling.* I’m finally having to just dispute the charges with my credit card, and I will never ever join an LA Fitness again.

Kids club is small, and kinda boring for them. Staff is pretty nice and cool. The basketball gym has weird lighting issues where it cuts off randomly starting around 7pm and they have no desire to fix it from what I’m told. Shouldn’t be called a Signature but still a good gym. There’s lots of room for improvement though.

After several visits to this location they started charging me an extra $5 each time. It’s not really worth more. Zumba is pretty good here, used to be better. Fitness floor is definitely better than other locations, fresh and easy to move across, not waxy. The machines are all on one level in a more compact space and are very good, pool looks smaller than other locations. Other than that I can’t tell much difference between this location and others.
