This L.A. Fitness is great! I live 25 minutes away, and have one down the road from my house, but prefer this one by far! Paris and the rest of the management team take excellent care of the gym. The layout is lowkey huge. Big square, everything kinda in its own section. Keeps people from stepping on one another. Ive been told its newly remodeled. The equipment is in good condition, and the turf is large as well. If you havent tried it, give it a whirl. I think you'll love it!

I’ve been training with Coach Neal at LA Fitness, and he’s honestly one of the best trainers I’ve ever had. He tailors the workouts to each person’s body type and fitness goals, making sure our form is always correct and safe. I really appreciate that he never pushes us past our limits to the point of injury — instead, he motivates us while easing us into more challenging workouts. Even on the days you’re not training with him, he gives you pointers and a workout plan to follow on your own.
He also takes time to explain how and why each exercise helps, which makes every session feel purposeful. On top of that, he helps build personalized nutrition plans, recommends natural remedies, and even includes active recovery stretches like yoga after tough workout weeks. In general, I’ve been training here for years and it’s a very good place BUT today I saw something that I didn’t think was very good. A female cleaning staff cleaning the men’s bathroom and it’s something that showed the lady’s face of discomfort and the same with the men who were there they couldn’t do their normal things in the dressing rooms and I think that if it happens in the opposite case in the girls’ locker rooms they wouldn’t want to see a man.

Update: Since writing my original review, there have been noticeable staff and facility improvements at this location. Paris, in particular, has been amazing, it’s clear he genuinely cares about the members and the condition of the gym. The cleanliness issues I mentioned before have been addressed, and there are now more trash cans available to help keep things maintained. Equipment upkeep has become much more consistent, and the men’s locker room is being looked after more carefully. Overall, the gym feels much better managed, and I’d now definitely recommend this location to anyone in the area looking for a well-equipped and well-
run LA Fitness.

Old review: I would not recommend this location to anyone. It’s worth a drive to get access to a properly functioning gym. I’ve been a member of LA Fitness for over 13 years and have used many locations, and this is by far the worst-managed one. It’s extremely busy, yet that doesn’t seem to motivate the management to keep the equipment or facility in decent condition.

Several sinks in the men’s locker room consistently have no soap. I can’t tell if they’re broken or just never refilled. The paper towel dispensers are empty at least twice a week, so you end up wiping your hands on your clothes after washing. The sanitizing wipe stations for cleaning equipment are also frequently empty.

I’ve even had a cleaning crew member mop my treadmill while I was using it, maybe take care of the soap and towels instead?

As for the equipment itself, there have been at least 4 to 6 treadmills out of order for months. It’s frustrating to see so many machines sitting unused during peak hours. The stair masters are often in the same condition.

This place feels like the forgotten child of LA Fitness. The front desk staff are always friendly, but it’s not enough to make up for what feels like a makeshift gym experience.

I have been coming to this LA fitness since it opened. Front desk is very friendly and always helpful. I am now happy with the daycare center team, ladies take job very seriously and always keep a close eye on my 2 year old son. He loves coming with me to this gym and I feel comfortable enough to leave him with the ladies in the morning. Which says a lot, I don’t let anyone watch my son.

If you would have told me decades ago that I would join a fitness center at age 77… and engage a coach! … I would have laughed out loud! Never say never ‘cause that is exactly what has happened! In my case, Coach Neal is an advocate for functional fitness; strength and mobility for my every day life. He is always encouraging. I’ve been coming to this LA Fitness for a little over a year, and while it has some positives, there are major issues that make it hard to recommend.

On the good side: the facility itself is clean, the ladies’ locker room is well-maintained, there’s a pool, and they do have a sauna. Those basics are solid.

But the problems are impossible to ignore. Several treadmills remain broken for weeks at a time without being repaired. The stair masters/revolving stair climbers are consistently out of order as well. It gives the impression that maintenance is not a priority here, and members are left without full access to equipment they’re paying for.

My biggest disappointment is with the management. They recently cancelled one of the most popular spin fitness classes, taught by Kaye S on Mondays and Wednesdays at 5:30. Her classes were consistently full—far more than many of the others—but instead of supporting that success, they quietly pulled it. Then, when they “tried” to move it, they scheduled it at inconvenient times (Friday evenings) where they knew attendance would drop off. It felt shady and poorly handled, especially since they didn’t even give her warning. Meanwhile, other classes were protected—like body pump, yoga, and certain spin classes earlier in the day or on Saturday mornings—so the selective decision-making is frustrating and unfair.

And here’s the kicker: by cancelling Kay’s class, management completely eliminated ALL evening spin classes. None. So now, if you work during the day and relied on evening spin as part of your routine, you’re just out of luck. The gym bent over backwards to accommodate other classes, but spin members were simply cut off. This sends a clear message about what management prioritizes—and it’s not the members who filled those spin classes every week. As Kae is a great instructor she was able to transfer and several members cancelled their membership to follow her to her classes now being taught at Crunch fitness in Duncanville that just opened.

To make matters worse, they removed the spin room entirely to create a Pilates room. Instead of being transparent about this change, all they’ve said is that a Pilates class is “coming in September”—but no one knows when. What day? What time? No details are shared. Yet there are signs all over promoting it as if it’s ready to go. In the meantime, spin bikes are crammed against the wall in the main aerobics room, and every participant has to drag a bike out and set it up in the middle of the floor before class. It’s messy, disorganized, and feels like management is prioritizing marketing hype over member experience.

They claim a new Pilates class is coming, but with no start date or clear communication, it just feels like smoke and mirrors.

The only reason I keep coming here is because it’s the most convenient location to my house. But if you’re considering this gym, keep in mind: the facility is clean, yes—but the management is unaccommodating, and doesn’t prioritize fixing machines or supporting classes that members actually enjoy.enjoy your work out!

Joined up in May. I picked this gym because of the pool and the chair they have for disabled folks. Both of my knees are shot and need replaced, so the chair that puts my in and out of the pool is a blessing. I have made some wonderful friends there. The atmosphere in the pool is awesome. We've become one big pool family. Not only has it helped me lose 58 pounds so far, it's helped with my depression. The only complaint I have is I wish the pool area was kept cleaner. The floor and glass walls need serious attention. I've asked several times for them to be cleaned and the walls in front of the restrooms/locker/showers are filthy. Really wish they payed better attention to that entire area.

We slowly continue to lose services and management doesn't seem to care. For over 2 years I've been asking about new meters for the rowing machines because only 1 of the 3 works.This affect my limited interval training. We used to have direct tv for all the cardio equipment but now were down to 4 channels in which 2 are news channels is is depressing enough. This has been going on for a few months. And repair time on broken equipment seems to have increased. Its getting harder to justify keeping a membership
for much longer when there are so many other facilities in the area.

LA Fitness is a solid gym with a lot to offer, especially given its size and variety of equipment. The facility has a good layout, and the temperature is well-regulated, making workouts comfortable year-round. The selection of machines and free weights is extensive, which is great for those who like to switch up their routines.

However, in recent visits, I’ve noticed that maintenance has been lacking. Several machines are either out of order or in need of repair, which is frustrating given the size of the gym and the membership fees. For a facility of this caliber, all equipment should be functional and well-maintained to justify the cost. Additionally, the bathrooms and some areas of the gym appear worn out and could use a deep cleaning or renovation to uphold a higher standard. Even if that means denying access to some members that are bringing the gym down with their lack of caring about the equipment..

As this neighborhood continues to grow, I’d love to see management take more pride in the upkeep of the gym. A few updates and better attention to maintenance would go a long way in ensuring LA Fitness doesn’t fall behind competitors. With some improvements, this could easily remain a top-tier gym in the area. For now, it’s still usable, but it’s clear that standards have slipped, and that’s disappointing for members who expect better.

I’ve been a member of LA since 2013. I’ve gone to numerous locations but this one Is the closest to my home, but it’s the worst location. They don’t have a lot of machines compared to other LAs but it’s super busy all the time. This is also the smallest location I believe.

Multiple machines have been down for MONTHS and the sanitizing wipes are always empty. I complained about the tension on a machine needing adjustment 8 months ago and they barely responded and it was never fixed (hip abductor) and there’s only one of these. The stair masters have been down 3+ months (3 out of 7).

The kids club is also TINY and always packed. Make the drive to a different gym because this one is not it.

Be creative. If you want the most satisfying workout, think outside the box, and the machines. Lots of machines that do the same thing for the same Muscle group, sometimes duplicated side-by-side. Far fewer younger members than many other places, ie, fewer huddled groups standing/chatting/blocking/hovering. Peak times are VERY peak, choose wisely. Shower? Just use the gel dispenser that they provide because there’s nowhere to put your own but on the floor. Nice clean space to work out. One more star for longer hours and greater variety of equipment…..maybe shower shelving…..

Disappointing upkeep, likely due to poor management.

This gym has been seriously lacking in maintenance for weeks now. Two stair steppers, four treadmills, and several weight machines are broken and still haven’t been repaired. For a gym that’s already crowded, this makes getting a full workout incredibly frustrating.

On top of that, only 2 out of 10 ceiling fans are working. The others have been off for months, making the cardio section hot and uncomfortable—exactly where airflow is most needed.

At this point, it feels less like a one-time issue and more like ongoing neglect. It’s hard not to blame management, who clearly aren’t prioritizing member experience or equipment upkeep. This gym could be great, but someone needs to step up.

i fell into the sauna heater, and it took them at least a month to fix it. I showed the facility manager my burns and stuff because the wood was falling apart. if the wood cage was solid, i wouldn't have gotten injured. they really didn't try to correct the situation at all. i really enjoyed this place prior to this.

Google wanted an update... so update, they fixed the sauna. However, they managed to ask me and others to step outside the sauna to check something, and it interrupted all of our sessions. I would think that they would be able to check whatever is needed in after hours.

I'd still visit the location, but I know going forward that they just probably don't care as much as they could in customer service. I'll actually take another star because the guy that pulled us out of the sauna months later was the same guy I reported my burn to, and he did not check on me or chit chat other than kicking us out for 5 min and leaving.

The receptionist and the people in charge of enrollment/cancellation were nice.

Story time… I did a tour and enrolled on Sunday 2/23/25 went on Tuesday 2/25/25 to start my workout journey. Dropped off my 6 month old and did a work out for 20 mins, I decided to move to another machine but something told me to check on my baby. As I started to walk towards the door the lady saw me coming and suddenly started to move my child back and forth (he was in the stroller) when I walked in he was screaming his lungs out, he’s eyes were super red and tears down his face. I was like what the heck is going on and she was like oh is this his bottle? Like no shit! It’s on his lap and he’s the only baby here. There were at least 10 kids in there and she was the only personnel. Grabbed my child and left before I committed a crime. The following day 2/26/25 I went back, explained what happened and cancelled my membership. A week later on 3/3/25 I received an email that my membership was cancel. It’s now 3/11/25 no refund has hit my account and to top it off my monthly charge was deducted from my account. Worst experience of my life. To all parents please think about it twice before signing up or constantly check up on your child.

I pay almost 40$ a month and they can’t keep the sanitation station wipes in stock. It wasn’t even busy and every single station was empty. This has happened on multiple occasions, and on one of them they had the audacity to leave out one(1) singular spray bottle with one (1) roll of paper towel…

Update: 3/25 The past two weeks the sanitation wipe stations have once again been empty. We've been a member for at least two years and never had an issue with safety. I go to the gym alone often. Tonight, my husband drove my car and the passenger window was broken and my car was torn apart. According to the young lady at the counter, they have a break in to a vehicle DAILY. I'm upset that we as paying customers have not been notified of how UNSAFE that parking lot is. This is what I am demanding and I hope others join my efforts: 1: Increased Security Measures – Surveillance cameras, increased lighting, and on-site security presence.
2: Clear Communication to Members – Transparency about security risks and what steps are being taken to prevent further crimes. 3: A Response from Gym Management – A formal statement explaining how you will address this issue moving forward.

The swimming pool has too much chlorine in the pool. The of levels need to be checked or change pool cleaning services. I live closer to this gym but I’ve been opting to the one in Duncanville because the Spa is always very dirty. The Women’s restroom at night, I must say is very clean!!! The men’s locker has been stinky on several occasions. I would recommend checking the spas of levels as well. I often clean out the bubbles, be use they are usually filled with a brown dirt film.

Edit: Since I originally left my review so much has changed at this gym. Front desk staff is amazing and friendly. The gym feels cleaner. This has become one of the better locations.

The most customer service I’ve received from this gym was when I signed up. No one is ever at the front desk (I’ve come at diff times through out the week on diff days and no one is ever at the front desk.) It looks like a newer location compared to other locations in Dallas but stuff is always broke, equipment is never in the right place, weights are always misplaced, there’s a lack of grip gear and no actual location for them so they are thrown all over the floor? I’ve never seen anyone cleaning equipment or the gym - literally never. Overall I feel like La fitness needs some rebranding and the locations in Dallas need a facelift with staff that actually care.

I trained here for 2 years, it used to be cleaner, now it's all dirty. I train at night and it often happens that 15 minutes before 11pm the cleaning staff closes the bathroom so no one can enter. When you use the sink in the bathroom they tell you not to throw water on the mirror, it's ridiculous. And that's not all, they start shouting and announcing that the gym will close in 15 minutes. I will definitely change GYM

I am very disappointed in this gym. I have been coming here for the last five years and the morning staff was always very nice and courteous. The gym was always clean and very respectful, but over the last two weeks since one of the cleaning ladies Ana has left. The gym has become very dirty and the staff is very rude. They sit around do nothing and when we ask them for paper towels, they tell us that, they cannot restock it because people use too much and that it’s costing the facility a lot of money and they have closed the aerobics gym when I am an elderly lady that likes to work out in there and stretch because of my limited mobility. Now I am unable to use that space and to work out and use the lightweights in that gym area that offered a little bit of privacy, but they have closed it down and they don’t wanna reopen it. I have called all the other gyms in LA Fitness and they are all open except for this Gym , the district office management Faith has ordered that it stays closed and that if we need privacy that we should just stay home which I think it’s very rude for her to say. Another front desk lady also said that one messes it up all and that the cleaning staff isn’t required to put weights back in there place which I call laziness

I have been coming to this gym for over six years now and over the last few weeks. I have been noticing that this gym is very dirty. Now they no longer wipe down the machines. They also vacuum on the turf area where people are supposed to be working out in the morning between five and seven is when I work out and there’s nowhere else to do abdominals or crunches because they have the exercise room closed when there are no classes during those times. The workout room has always been open at 5am over the last 6YRS that I’ve been coming all the other gyms have that area open. I was told that the reason why they closed it is because people leave their weights there. I suggested that they put up signs so that people can take their weights back And they basically flat out told me that if one messes it up, they mess it up for everyone else. I think that is not fair. Also, I think that it is their job to actually walk around the gym and see if there’s any areas that need to be cleaned because the floor was dirty and the trashcan in the pool was super full. It was full of water bottles and it was only 6:30 AM so basically, no one is cleaning the gym like they’re supposed to and they are interrupting the people that are working out while vacuuming during the turf area where people do their abdominal crunches. This gym has become very packed and they should open up the exercise room specially if there are no classes during that time, I told him that I like my privacy and that is where I do my lunges and my abdominals and they basically told me oh well. One MANAGEMENT lady named Faith Perez basically said if they need privacy they should workout at home this infuriates me the way she told her employee that and talks to them very degrading. Three stair machines are broken, the treadmills are out of order, weights are constantly stolen, and the restrooms are filthy because people never flush. Management does nothing about it, and the place is always overcrowded—they should really enforce a capacity limit.

I've been taking water aerobics classes at this gym for about 2 years . Pool is crystal clear/clean all the time as is the hot tub.
I LOVE that there are 4 different teachers and each has a different approach . Fav instructor is Debra C...keeps us going strong for the hour !

This LA Fitness had some really good positives compared to other ones. The location is pretty good. The pool and the hot tub were at good temperatures. The equipment was in good shape. The staff greeted me as I walked in. I feel like I have to say that because some of the other ones there’s nobody around. The only reason I give it one star off because the bathrooms were kind of dirty, and this might sound strange, but the shower pressure was so hard it hurt. It sounds strange because some of the other ones have no pressure but this was too hard. It felt like needles hitting my back. Overall still a very good LA Fitness. I would give this a 3.5 out of 5.

Smells very bad in the guys locker room. They should invest in an automatic freshener. I almost threw up when I had to go into the restroom room. The worst thing has to be the restrooms are open into the pool area and the smell comes out into that area. I hope this issue is addressed one day but it’s been like that since before and after COVID, that’s how long I’ve come to this gym and finally had enough the smell got to me.

Dirtiest gym I’ve ever been to, BY FAR. Everything feels sticky. Garbage everywhere, not enough cleaning supplies, no one (and I mean NO ONE) wipes down equipment, hair and stains everywhere. I’ve never seen the equipment or mats wiped down or the astroturf cleaned. Things (fountains, sinks, equipment) constantly breaking and take weeks to fix. Roaches in the sauna. Employees and wannabe trainers just sitting around on their phones or hanging out when they could be wiping down equipment. There seems to be only one person who “cleans” from time to time. Management needs to go and the health department needs to give a surprise visit. Bathroom is constantly filthy and lacking sanitary covers, soap and paper towels. This place is dismal.

Come to this LA if you want to risk your vehicles wellbeing. Non-stop breaks in since coming here for over a year. Police wouldn’t even show up and the parking lot “security guard” told me to stop coming to this LA. This happened to me and 5 other cars on a Saturday morning….A kids truck was even stolen from the parking lot about a month ago. No changes have been done by management.

The people that go here act like they own the gym.

The locker rooms are hard to even BREATHE in.
