Completely incompetent management.

They have walking machines that squeak extremely loudly forcing everyone to listen to old people’s every step.

They refuse to fix their machines or put signs up saying “out of order” instead forcing you to listen to every squeaky step of someone else’s workout entirely ruining your workout.

I went to the gym in the morning and my boyfriend noticed the bathroom was dirty. On top of that, several areas around the gym clearly aren’t clean or well maintained. Has an extremely loud broken running machine they’ve refused to fix for months.itd so loud you ca. hear it your entire workout every step whatever old selfish boomer takes. Dozens of machines boomers always choose the super loud one.

This has been broken for months with no maintence.

Edit: I paid two months up front. First and last month. Never used the last month, and they kept trying to bill me. This is a failing company. Pretty obvious cuz they can’t even afford to employ trainers anymore. Hit up the golds, or planet fitness down the street. Both have better equipment, staff and clientele.

I came in for my workout on a guest pass. You can't even find dumbbells because they're all over the place. There was a trainer, just sitting on the benches, talking him and a couple other Members were basically yelling at each other across the gym. When it was time to do cardio cleaning, the only stairmaster they have and I was told I could not do my cardio. It's very frustrating when you're trying to work out and you can't because they won't let you. This is probably one of the worst gym experiences I've ever had

Last Friday I finished my workout around 3:00 pm. I went locker room unlocked my wardrobe changed my dress to go sauna just been in the sauna for five minutes and came back locker room and somebody stole my new brand 12.5 size shoes and my neckless. This is probably the cleanest LA Fitness I have been to in the DFW area. The young Hispanic guy that does the cleaning during the day just doesn't stop. He is always cleaning, mopping or emptying the trash. The place is spotless. Cleaners from other clubs should be trained by him. The 5 stars is for the cleanliness and equipment only. The front desk staff is not as welcoming as other clubs.

Been here a number of times. The location is 'ok' but not great. It's unfortunate but LA Fitness seems to slowly let their locations run down to a point of mediocrity with machines that need parts/service and stay out of order for weeks, have grungy looking equipment that's clearly seen better years and floors that are often downright filthy. It gets the job done but I think there is a serious need from corporate to invest in some upkeep to make many of the locations a bit more fresh and inviting.

I don’t know who is managing the club but it’s gone downhill. Today there was no wipes at all for the whole gym, so nobody could wipe down any of the equipment. That’s disgusting. Also the hot tub was full today but ice cold. There were no signs about it in the locker rooms. It’s the worst La club in the area.
The hot tub is always half way full, I don’t understand why it’s never filled up and taken care of. Other la fitness locations take care of theirs great why it’s difficult for this location?

BEWARE: I participated in Personal training with LA Fitness for almost a year. Then they sold/outsourced their training to another company. All the trainers left which should have been a sign. Since my trainer of a year left I asked to cancel my month-to-month contract but was told I would not get money back for any sessions I hadn't used even though LA fitness no longer provides trainers. I was shocked by the lack of help I received especially considering I even got my husband to become a member. I'm out a lot of money but it's obviously not a lot of money to them. They offered to let me start over with a new trainer to use up my remaining sessions but it'd have to be with the new company so they don't even facilitate it. It used to be I could walk in to the gym and talk to someone but now it's all over the phone or email so they can hide from their members. I get it's a business but it's a business that sells themselves as a community of support and bettering yourself but they actually just want to see how much money they can get out of you and take advantage of those who believe them. Be weary of agreeing to a contract with them.

Now I’m seeing on the warnings here in the reviews. I hope someone sees this before they fall into the same trap so many of us have.

Why does nobody re-rack weights here? Not even the staff members re-rack the weights before opening, they just leave equipment and weights all over the place. Looking for matching dumbbells is becoming more difficult every time I visit. Have worked out in different gyms my whole life, never seen a lack of gym etiquette like this before. My Wife and I along with Our Family just recently joined the gym this week and so we are still getting to know it and the team that's on hand. We had a great encounter with a personal trainer there named Brian and a young man named Anthony that signed us up on Sunday. Although I am still taken back by the dinginess of the Men's Locker Room and the gym equipment needing more than just the standard wipe down my family and I are quite impressed with the process and the people here. The gym is convenient. The sauna is usually empty. The equipment can stand to be updated and in working order. Also the front desk guy with the ponytail is unwilling to help anyone. I asked if they could page overhead and was told no, when I know for fact when it’s close to closing time there are overhead messages. However if you happen to leave your car lights on this guy is not willing to page. Other than that it’s a gym.

I added a star for the new equipment and turf area. We should be able to rate the clientele. There are some of the nastiest people at this gym. Fortunately there are staff walking around re racking weights but they shouldn’t have to. They may need someone to flush toilets as well, the women’s bathroom is typically nasty and it’s not the staffs fault always.

Visited this location on a one off and never again. Place was dirty, stuff, and unorganized. Only 1 staff member was on site to provide any assistance or to hold people accountable. The overall gym is well-maintained, but the kids club experience is disappointing. One particular staff member appears more focused on studying and does not actively supervise younger children. She will call 5 mins after you drop your kid off. I’ve noticed she only watches babies in car seat that sleep or kids that are 10 and older. This is one of the best La Fitness locations in the area. The gym is mostly clean, they have bumper plates for squats and deadlifts, a sauna that runs pretty hot because people throw water on the sensor daily, plenty of lockers for keys and small items, plenty of benches and machines, not to mention a functional area that's not reserved for personal training. The only downside to this location is the bathrooms are usually pretty gross and on more than one occasion you have to scavenge for toilet paper.

General manager Kevin, is extremely rude. There’s a way to ask for things rather than to demand coming hostile. First time I worked out on the padded area, Kevin came to say not to slam the weights, which case I wasn’t. I was deadlifting. Second instance asked again on the flooring area. So which one is it? Or this gym like planet fitness?

When asked about a complain number, he immediately changed his character and said he didn’t have one.

Next time I’ll be sure not to hurt the weights feelings or his, by placing them gently on the floor.

I recently moved from Arlington, this location is the closest one being over a twenty minute drive. I came to cancel yesterday, the man working the front asked that I come back during business hours (8-5). And that a manager would give me a call in the morning.

I did not receive said call. I went today at 1:00pm, the man working the front asked me to come back another time. Informed him this was my second time trying to cancel. It’s inconvenient to go through this entire process for them to refuse. He simply said they will call me back.

I called the Arlington location, they said so long as I am requesting a cancellation, they can’t refuse. Much less in person. The Arlington location was far more helpful over the phone than yesterday and todays staff at this location. I placed a stop payment through my bank and Arlington terminated my membership through the phone.

On a good day, I might have given this place 3 stars, despite the icky showers and dressing rooms that always have dirty floors and hair everywhere. However, they have now found a way to screw over their paying swim members. I've had my membership for years and only to swim. They are now allowing a third-party business to rent two of their lanes, cramming all of their loyal, full-paying members into two lanes to do their swimming and water fitness - and for large chunks of the day! I am stunned because this used to be strictly against the rules and now the almighty dollar has conquered Mr. Welch.

In addition, the last time I swam there, which has now been a while because I'm still deciding what to do next, I was stunned to see a man swimming in his underwear and when I asked the front desk about it, she said there's really nothing they can do about that. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?! THIS IS HIGHLY DISRESPECTFUL AND UNSANITARY. I really don't want to be in a pool swimming with men in their sweaty, skid underwear... women either, although I have yet to see that.

Love coming to this location because of the upgrades but the young brunette woman working the front desk on Saturday 3/4 is so rude and very off putting. I understand the gym closes at 8pm on Saturdays but she cut the lights in the free weight area nearly 10 minutes early and I can't even explain how UNSAFE that is while guests were still working out. She was rude to me and another guest in the women's dressing room when we were getting ready to leave, again minutes before 8pm on a Saturday (closing). I understand the gym closes at 8pm and she probably wants to lock the doors and get out of there but I've worked at an LA fitness and it's implied that if you close at 8 you most likely don't lock up and leave as the closer until at least 8:15pm. Everyone in there pays their monthly dues and deserves to catch every minute of their workout until closing. Also when announcing the 20 minute and 15 minutes till closing she was basically YELLING on the intercom, it was excessive and came off so aggressive. As a paying customer when you feel aggressively spoken to by an employee to the point of wanting to retaliate something's not right. I should never leave the gym feeling this heated, that's ridiculous. Also during check in she could barely be bothered to get off of her phone to scan our bar codes.. I work customer service and this is not how you treat guests. I will gladly upgrade to 5 stars once this is addressed and her attitude is changed.

The customer service was terrible. I have lived in the Lake Highlands neighborhood for years and this past weekend I had the worst experience with Luis Jimenez. He called and set an appointment for my boyfriend and I to come in on Saturday and to my surprise we arrive to his terrible attitude. He was extremely dismissive and short of patience and he turned us away after setting the appointment for us to come in. He was not the least bit interested in smoothing things over or explaining things to us. It seemed like he was having a really bad day but when I called back and told him that he said he was doing perfect. So I guess he just wakes up rude daily and for that, I will not be back.

EDIT: About 1 month after my review, this LA Fitness redid their ENTIRE basketball court and it’s the best one in DALLAS!!! Great staff, great location.

Compared to the other LA locations in Dallas, this one doesn’t mop it’s basketball court enough. The dusty floor is sometimes dangerous; I just don’t want to see someone getting injured while playing recreational basketball—especially when it could be easily prevented. The staff is nice and accommodating, no complaints there.

So, I'm definitely becoming a regular here. I like the wide lanes in the pool. Ample hot tub and sauna. Zumba classes are cool, and even aqua fit, is enjoyable, stretches your muscles, and apparently it's not just for seniors. ( which was my previous misconception)

This is the worst place on earth bad customer service the manager was very disrespectful I really feel sorry for the people who go there ! I was looking for a long term membership but the manager technically called me crazy and treat me badly !!! Im glad there are a lots of places to work out in Dallas

The weight lifting area is a cramped and feels boxed in and as the day goes on they don’t clean. The culture and environment is not to clean. They do leave out spray bottles but they do not leave out towels or paper towels to wipe things down. Their pool area is wonderful. The pool (heated) has 4 lanes and they have a hot tub. It’s smells clean and is taken care of. The locker room is well maintained.

SAVE YOUR MONEY THEY ARE NOT WORTH IT! I wouldn’t recommend to sign up , Long story short Before I got pregnant i sign up for a whole year of personal trainer everything was going well till I got pregnant and my pregnancy end up being a high risk pregnancy with that being said I was paying my membership, kids club an extra to be able to bring ppl with me total of $138 plus $200 of training so total of 338 a month so recently I been trying to contact them to see if they can freeze my trainer fees $200 because I have not use it in a good 4 months and they don’t want to I don’t want to cancel or leave just like everyone does but they do t want to work with me , and I’m still paying everything ok I’m not trying to cancel I just need a break for my high risk pregnancy and they are not flexible I would not recommend this gym at all because they are not considered for life reasons don’t matter the reasons they don’t care I’m over it ! So sad because I been a LA fitness member since I was like 17 now I’m 29

Great gym, centrally located and next to great restaurants. The only issue that I have is with the equipment being a bit outdated. But other than that all good!

They finally renovated this location since it first opened. Something like 10 plus years. It's more modern now with some new machines, even one i have yet to see in another gym until now. The artificial turf is a nice touch for any athlete to really train in a open space! From the tile in men's locker room to the sauna being remodeled. Its a breath of fresh air for those of us coming since they opened. It was very much needed.

They have just renewed the whole gym and its awesome!!! Great new equipment and nice new layout. Staff has always been very helpful and friendly. This is by far the best place to workout without a doubt.
