This is the worst gym I have ever been to. I used to go to several LA Fitness gyms in Los Angeles, CA and they were pretty nice. I wanted to try this one since I’ve been in Texas now for a while. I went a total of three times with the pass.

First, the machines are extremely rusty and many of them are not even correctly calibrated. A push down on a normal machine I do 55, while one at this gym I have to go all the way up to 200 to make the same resistance. And that’s across many of the machines.

The dumbbells area was never organized. A 25 next to a 5 next to a 100. Good luck finding a pair to the one you need. A dude literally finished his round, dropped the dumbbells and kept walking. And that seems to be the norm there since that’s how you’ll have to hunt for the dumbbells around.

The lockers and showers always smell so bad and some lockers are even falling apart with some of the doors just hanging. I went to take a shower and there was mold everywhere and no soap to be found. I took the shower because I did the sauna and I didn’t want to be all sweaty in my car. I literally got athletes foot from there. Next day my foot was all messed up with it and it’s been like that for about a week since I took the shower there.

The only good thing this gym has is a pool (which judging by everything else, I don’t know how much maintenance it gets) and the sauna which is hard to find at other gyms in the area. But other than that, the other corporate gym across from it is miles better if you go at good times.

I was enjoying regaining strength after an illness and numerous surgeries, and worked with a trainer who understood my limitations and needs. She was let go just after I had paid for a new round of training sessions. I asked that my sessions be cancelled and money refunded, but they are not doing that. My options are to forfeit my sessions or go to a brand new inexperienced trainer. This is not responsive to the needs of their customers.

Am a member here. This place is constantly out of the sanitizing wipes. Today I asked for some at the front and they informed me they were back ordered. If I could give zero stars I would. I am beyond disappointed with the Gerneral manager Josh. Due to his error in advising me on the status of my account he caused multiple charges to go through on my checking account. Which caused a severe hardship. I questioned him several times on the accuracy of the information he gave me and he assured me he was giving me the correct information. This was careless. Not everyone has extra money in their checking account that gives a cushion for careless mistakes! Josh you were friendly but you gave incorrect information. That is the poorest of customer service because your friendlness caused me to trust the information you gave me even when I had doubts. Josh when you serve your customer it is important to make sure you are accurate in the information you give especially when it comes to their money!

I will cancel my membership and will never trust LA Fitness with my financial information again!! You are careless! That is the poorest of customer service! I have been in customer service for 45 years. I know exactly what I am talking about. I do hope you read this feedback and take it seriously. Taking this feedback seriously means getting some training on your billing system and making sure all of your staff is properly trained

My mother and I joined this gym for the pool and the senior fitness classes. So far, everything looks great! We were helped getting the membership from Christopher and he was wonderful. Very laid back and easy to talk to. He gave us a tour of the gym and we didn't notice any bad smells that some other reviews mention. Went back for a session with the personal training manager, Gio and he was also wonderful. Gave me some good ideas where to start with my fitness journey. Spoke briefly with Vic also and he was very helpful and knowledgeable about having personal weight issues. They have many options to work with personal training coaches to keep you on track. We look forward to going back. Thanks all, keep up the good work!

This gym has really gone downhill since I joined in April. The place is filthy. The womens restrooms had trash everyhwere. The trash bin was overflowing on a Saturday morning. The carpet upstairs has a foul odor I cannot even go up there anymore. The front staff member working could not help with a basic account issue. I cant wait to find a new gym.

8/13/25 Cycle room is too cold during classes. The music is too damn loud for a closed room. The teacher has the microphone overdriven that it is distorted over the music (noise). If you've turned the AC down to 60°F why do you need the fan? This is a gym, not a cool down room.

This could be a good place if they would just clean it. The men’s locker room smells disgusting. The bathrooms smell like old urine. The pool water is cloudy and there is what appears to be years of brown scum on the pool walls. The concrete decking around the pool is grimy and dirty. Paper towel and dispensers for wipes are usually empty. When I complained to the staff, they said it’s dirty because of the members, and I should take complaints to corporate.

Great location, the crowd is not bad at all. It has to be the best kept secret location because it's the smallest crowd at anytime that I have ever seen during peak time. The parking lot is very well lit at night so when I get off work at night I feel safe walking inside and then back out to my car. This gym is very unique and has a sports physical therapy office inside. The gym offers trainers we are licensed and certified. The cost of the gym membership is very reasonable and it allows you to bring two people with you each time you come in. The racquetball courts are very nice and well maintained. The equipment all works and is well maintained but is a little dated. I really wish I could give this gym a 5 star but I can't. The men's bathroom is poorly kept. Besides the poor cleanliness it's a great gym.

My husband had been a member here for almost two years and signed up with a promotion that included guest access. For two years, he has brought me, her wife, as guest with no issues. However, yesterday i was denied entry in a really unprofessional and embarrassing way in peak time by an employee.

When we first signed up, the guest access didn’t show up on the account while we were told, so we reached out to the agent who signed us up. He assured us would be sorted within a few days, as it takes time to show on the system and we trusted that. Do who would bother to check the account once for two years everything is smooth?

Now, it looks like there’s some kind of mistake—either a system error or miscommunication. I know that staff are on commission, it might be due to the dishonesty of the agent who said guest is included while it was not to get commission out of it. I remember that how greedy staff would behave those days to enroll new member!

I’ve attached proof of the original conversation.

More worse than that is the customer service they offer, they don’t even honer what they told to the customer initially including a comprehensive proof.

I simply call it scam. Since the only offer they had was to cancel the program and reenroll, why? To over charge with newest membership price. Good Luck with that! I will definitely share the review on others platforms for people to be aware of not to be deceived

THERE IS NO REASON TO NOT BE ABLE TO COOL DOWN A GYM. WHY IS THE DEFAULT SCHEDULE TO HEAT.

I understand a gym will be warmer, but actively heating the building is silly especially in a Texas summer.

Gym staff are not able to help with hardly anything. I come here to play racket ball and the AC is blasting hot air with 70 degree weather outside. Get told by staff the AC comes on at 9 despite it going full blast heating where we are trying to play. There is no manager present to help on the weekend mornings. Makes it randomly unplayable. The AC is so bad that the class room door has to be propped open with a dumbbell because it is so hot. This means the rest of the gym is listening to them blast their music, over the top of the gym music. Then the staff refuses to tell someone to turn off their speaker. It’s frustrating how basic management is over looked. Been coming here since I was in high school and it’s only gone downhill every year. If it wasn’t the closest place that had racketball courts, I would have changed my wife and I’s memberships to a different gym.

The equipment is alright, but can be fairly dirty and left all over. The machines are older and some of the padding is worn out.

I just want basic management and equipment refreshes every couple years or so. Adding a physical therapy office in what used to be the 5th racketball courts only takes away from what I can use. Additionally let them control the AC.

I wish management would do something about this place. TVs are constantly off or have a bad picture. When notified, the front desk says they’ll pass it off. But nothing ever changes. The women’s bathroom had been a mess with dust covered ceiling panels and leaky sinks for YEARS. Started going to the prosper LA because they actually keep things clean and working. I’d post more photos, but this place has too many to share and I don’t wanna waste my time.
The front desk won’t give you the time of day or any leaderships information to get in contact with them. And if you’re there during normal work hours, the manager is “out”. Very poorly run if you care about your gym being kept up and organized. It’s just an old building with equipment. Nothing else.

I love this gym!!! And the employees!!! Everyone talking about how dirty it is should go back to the purple gym. If the weights aren't racked who cares you paid to lift weights put it up. Dumbbells from 5lbs-25lbs all gone, gum on dumbbells, piles of dirt on the floor. I have 5 different gym memberships and this has to be the worst gym I’ve ever been in. Extremely dirty, I don’t know if anyone ever cleans, how are all the dumbbells gone? They don’t replace or repair anything. I won’t be returning here. Texas Family Fitness across the street is a great gym, super clean, good equipment, well kept, everything is maintained, and the monthly membership is cheaper. This location was supposed to change to "esporta" or something like that and become a 24hr gym on some days. That never happened. The hours on the weekends are fairly limited. Some of the equipment looks like it's been there for decades (rusted) and seriously needs to be replaced. There are almost never any wipes to clean off the equipment. There might be one available wipe station for the whole entire gym by 7 p.m. I hardly see any staff walking around and wiping down equipment or trying to make the place look clean. I would not recommend this location but unfortunately it's the closest location to me.

As you might know, they work base on commission. So, he concealed some of the hidden fee; I realized after I paid over the phone. Also, don’t be fooled by him if he said if come today and get 2guest privileges. All LA fitness do the same! Even after I called and talked with him and his manager, he was trying to deceive me by giving me $50 discount in order to make me happy, while in reality he was not giving me discount because there was a %75 promotion on initiation fee! Again, instead of telling me about promotion and save me money, he was trying to fool me! That’s ridiculous.

I went to LA Fitness that day to activate the membership provided to me by my insurance company. From the moment I walked in the front door until I walked back out, everyone I came in contact with made me feel welcome and part a of the LA Fitness family. I was given a tour and then left to explore on my own. Any questions I had were answered promptly and thoroughly. I would definitely recommend LA Fitness to anyone I know looking to get themselves in shape!

The air conditioner has been out in the cycle room for the whole summer. They only have one fan in the room. It is ridiculous, and dangerous.

This gym is just a hidden gem for people who hate working out in cramped spaces. Been here for a couple of times, at different times, might be just a luck or not but they never seem to have issue with the capacity. Used to be an Esport, just recently turned to an LA fitness, hopefully it won’t make much difference in their traffic amount. They have more than enough weights and machines, most of them are oldish, definitely updating those wouldn’t hurt. Larger than enough cross-fit area, plenty cardio equipment. Would definitely recommend.

I went to sign up for a membership and a few things happened. 1: I walked in to employees chatting with a member at the front desk, not helping him with anything just simply chatting. I stood there for 5-10 minutes before I was even acknowledged 2: when speaking with an employee about a membership I mentioned that I use to work there when it was LA Fitness, her response was a very sarcastic “congratulations” she then continued to try to talk me out of Planet Fitness by bad mouthing that gym. I’m all for selling a membership at your gym but do it by mentioning good things about your gym, not bad mouthing another gym. Just simply unprofessional. I left this gym and high tailed it over to Planet Fitness where I was met with a smile and excellent customer service. DO NOT GO TO ESPORTA!!!

This gym is good enough. 👍 I like the kids klub (wish they were open on saturdays) I like the gym itself but it's not clean. The bathrooms are nasty. The showers are not clean and the toilets are super gross. If they can do a better job cleaning up the place and opening the kids club on Saturday mornings. I would give them 5 stars because everything else is fine.

Usually not too crowded when I go, but the bathrooms are always dirty. The curtains in the shower area don't close very easily. There are small little flies everywhere.

Glad I’m not spending more than $10/month on a membership. Old, overused equipment with warped cables, worn cushions and hardly any attachments for cable machines. Cleanliness is def not a top priority. Soap dispensers in bathrooms usually empty. Trash cans often full. Machines have sweat and grime all over them. The turf/training area is nice so there’s that. And the staff seems nice.
