Brung a guest with me with their 3-day pass and was told they needed an appointment to activate it?? Told them that the guest had drove 30 mins to get here so we can both get a workout together and even spoke to the manager about the situation and if they could please be a bit lenient about the appointment and just allow my guest to try out the gym for today.
The manager, who was pretty rude to begin with, did not allow any wiggle room for a potential client. We had to pay $20 for a single day. Not only did they lose a potential client, but they also lost me who has been going here for almost 2 years now. I’ll be switching to a gym that actually values their customers.

This gym has serious sanitation and maintenance issues.
The locker room is consistently dirty, and paper towels are often overflowing from the trash cans. The locker units look like they haven’t been cleaned in years.
The water tastes terrible, and although many members have complained about the quality, management doesn’t seem to address it. Several showers and bathroom fixtures have been broken for months, and there appears to be no regular inspection of the restrooms or bath areas.
On the gym floor, weights and dumbbells are frequently left scattered around instead of being returned to their designated spots. You often have to walk around the entire gym just to find the equipment you need.

The free guest pass to try the facility that’s advertised is not actually a guest pass. You have to pay $20 for a day pass or if you don’t want to pay you have to call ahead to schedule an appointment. This was not anywhere in the email with the free pass and I read all the fine print at the bottom. The front desk workers were nice and said it was in the FAQs but I didn’t a link to FAQs anywhere on the website or email either. Disappointed that they were so misleading about the guest pass on purpose, I’ll go somewhere else.

I wish the staff was more proactive at communicating to members that it’s not okay to hog a machine while you’re on your phone and not really working out. Do a set and move your ass off the equipment.
You don’t know how often a few of the machines are tied up with people sitting on their phone. People have no consideration.
I watched the same guy today sit on a bench machine for at least 16 min without getting up. He was there when I arrived. He just did a few reps and started back on his phone. Who does that?
LA Fitness should start counting phone swipes as exercise. They’d be leaders in a new trend.

DISTURBING TREATMENT BY THE GENERAL MANAGER!!! Do not come to this gym!!!
Update: Came in for a workout… accidentally uncovered some questionable business practices. Action is already being taken at a corporate level.
I was hoping to become a member of LA Fitness at this location after trying the gym with a free pass that the gym advertised. I am already a member at another gym but it’s 20 minutes away so I was hoping to also join this location that’s a 5 minute drive.
Unfortunately I was treated very poorly by the GM of the location that goes by the name of Jesse. The website says the GM is Justin V. He would not provide his last name or who he reports to.
The GM, Jesse, said I could not use the pass today (I had the QR code and a proper ID) unless I made an appointment before which I did not know was required. Two other individuals came in with the same pass and were sent out frustrated.
I asked what the rules were and he said it was in my email and on the website under FAQs. I pulled out the website and asked if he could show me where it was as it was misleading to potential future members, especially for people that drove to the gym hoping to get a workout. He was unable to show me where it was (there is nothing on the website or email about the rules he was talking about). My background is in marketing and I know how important it is to not mislead the customers. I also wanted to make sure I didn't miss the important steps.
He did not like that I was asking questions and that I wanted clarification. He would not provide his last name or who he reports to and after I asked another employee, he came up to me and said that I had to immediately leave because I was „causing a scene" and he would CALL THE POLICE if I didn't leave.
I was IN SHOCK to be treated this way and threatened by a GM of LA Fitness without any grounds but simply for asking questions in a calm manner. The gym also wasn't very busy for me to not be able to use it. It was not at capacity.
I don't believe Jesse, the GM, is the best representation of La Fitness and what the company stands for. His behavior was unacceptable and uncalled for. The location lost 3 potential customers.
I don't think anyone should ever be treated this way at any business especially as a female. I am sure there is footage from the interaction that I would hope corporate office reviews. It happened today, October 27th, 2025 at around 4pm. This could have been handled in a better way.
I already took action to report the behavior of this individual to the Vice President of LA Fitness International and I hope they take proper action.

LA Fitness really needs to improve its cleaning standards. It’s not just the bathrooms , the equipment and workout areas are also extremely dirty. It’s unclear how often this location is being cleaned, but the current condition raises serious hygiene concerns.

I had a very disappointing experience with Rodrigo Manager at LAT Fitness. His customer service lacked empathy, and his tone came across as rude and dismissive. As a paying member, I expected basic courtesy and support, but unfortunately, that was not the case. I hope the gym takes feedback seriously and improves their approach to member interactions.

This one is at a great location. Gets a lot of crowd. The free weights is not that crowded. The gym staff is welcoming and kind. The instructors also seem to be very good. I haven't yet explored the group sessions. Has infrared sauna, pool and all the other good stuff.
What is with no towel policy at LA Fitness. The only complaint as the machines need wiping after every use. Please star providing towels, it will keep the area clean.

My friend signed up for a 3-day trial and was planning to buy a membership afterward. She was not allowed to use the gym equipment or attend a trial class (Frisco, TX), with the argument that without a membership there is no access and no trainer. Because of this, my friend refused to come back. Instead of attracting a new customer, you lost one.
I wanted to go with my friend, but since she won’t be going, I’m now considering canceling my membership as well. That means minus two people.
Nowhere on the website does it say that someone coming for a trial cannot actually try the workouts.

I came from a smaller gym and was honestly hesitant about joining such a big place… but I LOVE it! Everyone here is super friendly and welcoming. The group classes are top notch—ALL the instructors are prepared, motivating, and know how to make it fun! Their Zumba classes are hands down the best in DFW 🎶💃 (and the same goes for yoga, pilates, and everything else).
The bathrooms are always clean, which is a big plus, and I recently discovered the sauna—such a nice surprise and a great way to relax after a workout. So glad I made the switch!

I am a regular here. The facility is great & the personal trainer I work with is amazing. However, today I noticed an older disabled gentleman struggling to open the door to leave. The person at front-desk was totally oblivious & on his phone. The door didn’t have a automatic button for opening the front door either. That’s not acceptable!

Moved to this gym not knowing how the transition would go. From having a previous membership of over 8 years somewhere else. I want to say the transition and move was worth it. The facility is kept clean, several machines to choose from and the customer service is superb!
Willie the club manager is the best!!! He makes sure you’re taken care of, very knowledgeable about work outs! Please come to this location you won’t regret it!

The sauna is finally open! I'm here mainly for the pool, so far it's has been working out for me because I do have the luxury of avoiding the lesson time and almost have the pool to myself. My kids like the machines, they usually can find machines available. I love the Sunday morning Yoga led by Trey, good flow that every level can follow.
Locker room (women) is clean, I wish they had the swimming suit spinning machine, but not a big deal.
In general the gym is in a good condition, for the price we paid, it's good enough.
One suggestion, make some room on the main floor for stretching. It might not be the gym, but everytime I'm sitting in the waiting area, the TV is always on FOX new channel.

Do NOT join LA fitness membership! Stay away from the FRISCO - CUSTER RD location!
1. The pool of LA Fitness at the Frisco – Custer Rd location has three lanes, but now they are selling two lanes to the 3rd party swimming school during the peak hours. The members are only allowed to swim in one lane.
2. This location is not as packed as other locations or gyms due to their sloppy management, but the locker and shower areas are still always nasty.
This company’s actions constitute an infringement of the rights and interests of the members.

Justin Vu is easily the worst “manager” I’ve ever dealt with. Walked in, scanned my barcode, and before I can even breathe, Justin Vu jumps in with, “Why did you cancel? Want to renew?” like my decision didn’t matter.
What followed was a failed attempt at a high-pressure sales pitch to get me to sign back up immediately with my credit card, and for some bizarre reason, Justin Vu decides it’s the perfect time to pull out his phone, brag about his credit score, and tell me how he’s “about to buy a house.” Justin Vu then arrogantly gave me an unsolicited lecture about finances and credit like I needed the advice. I flashed my Amex Centurion Black Card to remind him I'm not looking for life lessons from a guy whose biggest achievement is memorizing his own credit score. I'm sure this was meant to inspire me, but it just inspired me to never come back.
Rude, pushy, and socially clueless. Talking to Justin Vu felt like being cornered by a sleazy teenager salesman who just discovered TikTok finance videos. He should use his credit score to finance some social skills and some customer service training. I dont know how this tone-deaf and unprofessional salesman ended up in a managerial position. If you value your time, privacy, and basic respect, avoid Justin Vu and avoid coming to this gym.

I'm constantly hassled every time I use my guest pass at LA Fitness. Employees, who are always sitting about 25 feet from the front desk, come over and bother me after I’ve already walked to the equipment, saying my scan didn’t work, which is really annoying. Plus, their sauna is broken, and they haven’t given any idea when it’ll be fixed.

My family and I went in for a tour of the facilities. As the employee took us to the side, he said, about when will you be ready to sign up. We said within a week. He then proceeded to state I will take you on a tour when you are ready. We were like, how do we know we want to sign up here? He kept insisting that he would only take us on tour when we were ready to sign up. He would never look us in the eyes or anything when speaking. Finally, we asked for his manager and he said that is not their policy. Not sure if the other person was a manager or not, but he was willing to take us. The first person pretty much gave the vibe that he didn’t like my kind. We were able to speak with one manager, but he doesn’t handle sales. So he gave our number to someone who was supposed to call us. Well that person has yet to call. We even tried to call again and we left a message for that manager, but he hasn’t called back. Even no support from corporate. Terrible.

I have been going to LA fitness/ City Sports for 4 years. When I tried to renew my membership- I was given a decent offer but I hadn’t brought my wallet with me. Justin (claimed to be the general manager) started off by being helpful but when I told him that I want to check out other gyms and pricing in the area before I come back with my wallet to pay - He completely lost it. He started explaining how this deal needs to be done right now or he won’t be able to honor the same price. He started telling me about how he is 2 days late on his own submission (not sure how this applied to me). He claimed to be very confident in LAFITNESS pricing. Clearly not! He is probably the worst salesman I’ve ever seen. I was inclined to sign up at first because the deal was decent but after this conduct by the GENERAL MANAGER… I won’t be coming back to this gym.

I signed up to LA Fitness because they are known to have saunas and this location was just opening and it’s close to my house. Ever since they have opened their sauna has not been completed. Asked the manager several times and she says she doesn’t know when it’ll be fixed. It’s been over A YEAR. I have to drive out of my way to go to a location that has a sauna for the end of my workouts…. How can management not care about this issue ?

The Sauna has not been working for months. It doesn’t take months to fix a sauna. I’m paying the price I am to have access to the sauna. Tried calling another close location with a sauna, and guess what, THEIR SAUNA DOESN'T WORK EITHER!!
When you ask the staff about it, they don’t want to give you and answer.
Just be honest and inform the patrons of the reality that the sauna is PERMANENTLY closed, and reduce the membership price accordingly.

Smaller location with great staff, a clean facility, and fairly limited equipment. However, I’m here to rant about the sauna. It broke down over two years ago, and no one has come to fix it to this day. For the past year, I’ve been driving 15 minutes further to the second-nearest LA Fitness location because that one had a working sauna. Unfortunately, for reasons I don’t know, that location is now permanently closed. So now I’m back at this no-Sauna having ahh location.

I’m very disappointed with the way my membership cancellation was handled.
I had emailed the club three times and also sent messages asking to cancel my membership, but no one ever responded.
For three months, I continued to be charged, even though I was out of the country and unable to come in person.
It’s completely unacceptable that nothing was done until I physically came in and canceled it myself.
This situation could have been easily avoided if the staff had simply replied to any of my messages.
To make matters worse, the same issue happened with my husband’s membership as well.

I have been working out here since December 2023. The gym is operable, the equipment works for the most part and it’s fairly clean. The water coming out of the water faucets is warm, especially during the summer which is real lame. Also the sauna has been broken ever since I started coming here with no fix in sight. So if your looking for something fancy this isn’t it, but it’s affordable and close to me house so I’ll keep coming here. Please make the drinking water cold!!

It’s crowded most of the time, poor patronage, there should be signage asking people to not to hog the instruments when they are not using or watching social media on their phones . Front desk staff are not all helpful which is surprising. They disregard ViP passes, don’t give you the complete picture when you sign up. Please do not pay the annual fee as there’s not much benefit if you do . Don’t get conned into ViP pass, referral benefits etc coz there ain’t any. I picked this over Planet fitness because of the proximity and overall size but this is not value for money

Stupid gym. The guest pass policy is inconsistent with what the online portal says and even if I scan in, they won’t let me in because I “have to take a tour of the facilities” and schedule in advance when I want to work out.
Don’t come here if you want to use a guest pass because its not really a pass just a forced sales tactic like a timeshare.

But lo behold once you arrive at facility they would ask for either appointment or 20 dollar fee. This facility seems to be running it's own rule. I walked in and join membership directly and ask Sauna and swinging pool only in end of Nov. 2024 , staff told me the Sauna be ready in Dec . 2024 , I signed in immediately , just read an others members comments , this Sauna was broken more than 8 months already , surprise me . I had a terrible experience with LA Fitness, particularly with their customer service. Before signing up, they seem accommodating, but once you sign, they make it nearly impossible to cancel or pause a training membership.
When I joined, a trainer mentioned a three-month contract, something that was never disclosed during sign-up. The staff rushed my friend and me to sign, vaguely explaining the details and failing to mention any contractual obligations. They assured us we could “give it a try” and promised we could reduce, pause, or cancel sessions at any time. Later, I found out this wasn’t true—they said we could only increase sessions and that pausing wasn’t allowed.
On another occasion, I was told by a different trainer that I could pause the membership by claiming I was going on vacation. The inconsistency in their policies and explanations is frustrating and unprofessional.
This isn’t my first negative experience with LA Fitness. Last year, I was paying $90 per month for a membership, and when I brought it up this year, they denied having such a membership. Once again, they told me I had to pay for an entire six months of training, even if I didn’t use it—even though their employee didn’t even mention that I was signing a contract. I wish I had left a review at that time and not given LA Fitness another chance.
If you’re considering joining LA Fitness, be very cautious. Always get any promises or agreements in writing because verbal assurances mean nothing. I won’t be trusting them again.

This gym is the newest around Frisco/Plano.
They really had a good opportunity to keep this gym clean and organized.
Though this gym is closest to my house, I still drive 7 to 10 miles to other locations.
The Sauna has been closed for almost a year.
The gym is mostly clean, but the facility is smallest compared to other LA fitness of surrounding areas.
Also, the worst part of this gym is, the crowd, not trying to sound rude, but this gym equipment is always occupied by a group of people who hardly workout they just sit on engage equipment, talking to each other and on the phone mostly.
They use the weights and never re-rack the weights.
Overall they have a good opportunity to improvise but, I guess management knew that, they don't have to do anything, people from neighbouring area continue to come irrespective of how bad and unclean the gym maybe.

I used to love this location, and I actually drove out of my way in order to regularly work out here back when I lived in the area. Every time I visited for the holidays prior to moving, they would welcome me back after signing up for a guest pass.
However after walking in today with a guest pass, I was greeted with Jonathan Richards, their sales manager, who turned me away at every opportunity. Even after telling them that I was a former employee for LA Fitness, he still shut me down by telling me to pay up 20 bucks for entry. His failure for flexibility and willingness to accommodate for customers, especially former employees, is the reason why neither I nor my friends will be working out here in the future.

The staff is courteous and friendly and the facilities are clean and well cared for. That said, oftentimes no one is available to open gym at its scheduled time of 5 a.m. It is commonplace for the parking lot to be filled with customers waiting for management to open the gym, which is problematic for those who specifically work out in the morning as their schedules require it. If you have a demanding schedule, I would recommend looking elsewhere for your excercise needs.

Lockers needs to be cleaned and maintained. They are not good at this time. Sauna is not working for long time.

I tried to call them a couple of times before I got there and no one picked up. I couldn’t confirm the free day trial process and overall bad experience. Canceling an LA Fitness membership at this location is an absolute headache. When you try to cancel in person at the gym, they direct you to do it online, but when you attempt to cancel it online, the system tells you to visit the gym in person. The staff seems completely confused about the cancellation process and doesn’t seem to know what they're talking about half the time. I've been trying to cancel my membership for the past 10 days, but I’m still struggling. Today, when I went in for what I hoped would be the final time, they said their servers were down and asked me to come back tomorrow. The whole experience has been incredibly frustrating. I’m not sure if it’s just me or if others have faced the same issue, but this has been a real pain! Not sure cancelling membership is so hard at this location or other locations have the same problem.

When I returned yesterday to join, I was told the offer was no longer available. There was no indication of an expiration date, and I was told this is just how they run their business. Communication regarding membership privileges and benefits is lacking. There is no consistency between the app policy and the club policies. I have access to VIP Guest Passes through my membership, and I’ve used it at other locations in the past no problem. In this location, they’re saying I don’t have that access because I am paying through a 3rd party, and they have a small sign in the front that says day passes are $20 (already a ridiculous fee), and that guest passes need to be reserved a day in advance. Horrible service and I’ve been coming here since they opened this location. Stay away.

I love this gym! It's clean and well taken care of. All the people are friendly and helpful, from the person at the front desk that greets you to the cleaning person! The trainers, Jake & Nathan are amazing! They really put their all into your workout, and want you to succeed.
You can ask anyone a question about equipment that you may not know how to use, or if something isn't working correctly and they will walk with you and show you.
Other members are also friendly & helpful, it's just the vibe in this gym.
If you're looking for a gym this is the place to be!

I recently had an absolutely dreadful experience at LA Fitness, all thanks to an employee named Justin. This individual went out of his way to ensure that my visit was as unpleasant as possible. I brought a family member with a VIP guest pass, which we had used just the day before without any issues. However, when we tried to use it again, Justin flat-out refused to honor it. Instead, he kept insisting that we had to pay $20 for a pass we had already used. It was beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable.
Justin didn’t stop there. He had the audacity to lie straight to my face, claiming to be the general manager when he’s actually just the sales manager. This level of dishonesty is inexcusable, and it only added to the already negative experience. Throughout our interaction, Justin was combative and displayed extremely rude facial expressions, making it clear he had no intention of providing any form of decent customer service.
His unprofessionalism was glaringly obvious. It was clear that Justin had no interest in helping us or resolving the situation. Instead, he seemed to take pleasure in making the process as difficult and unpleasant as possible. His combative attitude and the disdainful looks he gave us were utterly uncalled for and left us feeling extremely disrespected.
To sum it up, Justin V. managed to turn what should have been a straightforward and pleasant visit into a nightmare. His behavior was unacceptable, and his dishonesty and rudeness were completely unprofessional. If you value your time and sanity, avoid dealing with Justin at LA Fitness. He is a prime example of how not to treat customers.

When guest privileges were “attempted” to be explained, the explanation was inconsistent with both online written policies as well as communication at other locations. When I mentioned the other location where we had no problems, the employee responded by saying “Yea, I would avoid that location. There are 3 locations I wouldn’t trust making financial changes to my LA fitness account and that’s #2 on my list”. So unprofessional and tried to blame previous employees/other locations as reasons why we could not use our guest privileges we pay to have.

Been coming here for a month now, and it's been great! Clean and not too busy during weekday afternoons (though I do recommend coming before 5PM). Overall, a solid gym especially for the price.
UPDATE: Don't come here. This used to be my favorite gym, and I would consistently come everyday until I left for college. I don't know what happened in the months I was away, but this place is not what it used to be. Broken machines all the time. Sauna is STILL broken. Worst of all, seems like all the employees are different and just outright rude. They are clearly untrained in customer service and trying to upsell you all the time when you're ALREADY a gym member. Save your money and your time; there are so many other affordable and great gyms in the area.

The place is good and have lot of equipment's. i would like to leave a review on overall management of LA fitness which is really unprofessional. The trainers are really good and i really liked interacting with Nathan and Greyson and they are gem of person. Coming back to big boys here :
1) Before giving any money to LA fitness please think twice as they have a bad policy of return
2) i was medically unfit and even they don't have that humane reason to refund
3) They will keep charging hidden fees and get the contracts electronically signed so we do not have much to fight with them legally
4) Planet fitness is better place than this if you want value for money
5) Finally for a net promoter score I will never recommend my family and friends to any of the LA fitness in USA

I started going here last year and I really enjoyed in for the first few months (like with anything new). Now, Machines are always broken, the sauna has been broken for MONTHSSS. The “consultants” lack basic customer service skills as they only care about upselling you. The high school students lounge around and pester you for a machine when they spend two minutes on it to giggle with their friends. These children should not be unaccompanied by their parents. I was going to use the cycle room the other day and there were a group of teenagers in there with protective gear while another pair from the group were kickboxing. I just packed up my things and left. I didn’t know we had signed up for an afterschool program.

The sauna has been out of order for over a year. It’s extremely crowded and they have continued to limit space for paying customers. There is no basketball court, the personal trainers take most of the functional workout area, and often keep dumbbells that should be on the racks. Prices go up and quality continues to drop.
