I really wanted to love this LA Fitness since it’s my home club, but the pool conditions have been a letdown. The water is often dirty, and the temperature is rarely adjusted to a comfortable level for swimming. I’ve raised my concerns with the front desk, but I haven’t seen any corrective actions taken. Because of this, I end up traveling to the Arlington LA Fitness just to use the pool. The rest of the club is fine, but the pool needs serious attention and more consistent maintenance.

Basketball court has more dead spots than the entire Walking Dead series. If you want to play basketball, definitely avoid this LA Fitness. If not, you’ll be playing soccer instead of basketball and look at your basketball or the ground wondering if something glitched with gravity. You’ll have handles like Messi instead of Kyrie. Smh

I’ve been a member for 13 years. This location is hands down the worst that I’ve been to. The gym itself is ok with equipment. When it comes to the hot tub, it’s a thumbs down which sucks because I really enjoy a good soak. When it’s operating it’s always murky and the walls are mildew and brown. The jets don’t shoot out, they just go up. It’s weird. The pool is usually pretty good. The showers are horrible. Mildewy, dirty, trashy, and hundreds of some sort of gnats. It’s just too bad because this is the closest La fitness to me but I might have to start driving to the next one 6 more miles away. I hope they can fix these issues soon.

The gym is really nice. And the staff are very helpful and friendly. They have a pretty good selection of workout equipment, but it’s a little outdated. The pool is very nice, but the worst thing about the place was the hot tub. It had goo buildup on the bars, right around the waterline and the inside of the hot tub was brown and moldy looking. The water is clean yes but the hot tub just doesn’t look that appealing. That’s why I gave it three stars.

I did visit the other two LA fitness gyms and they are really really nice updated equipment clean hot tub clean everything. This one just needs to do a lot to catch up. I’ll continue my membership, but I’ll be working out at the other gyms and maybe later on I’ll come in and check it out and see if it’s improved in any areas

Today, September, 15, 2025, I ended my membership at LA Fitness due to false information given to me when I signed up to this gym. When I originally joined LA Fitness, it was when the establishment first opened in Grand Prairie. During that time, I have always used the racketball court to work out in with no issues. I originally ended my membership due the gym having to shut down from plumbing issues from the Texas freeze of 2021. I rejoined LA Fitness, May 2025, due to the local 24 Hour gym closing. For four months since being back, I resumed using the racketball court to work out in. Prior to me rejoining this gym, I made sure to ask the associate if I may use the court just in case the rules have changed during my time away. The associate said it was fine, just reserve a court in the LA Fitness app, and put the equipment back when I was done. All of this, I have complied with no issues. For some reason today, this now has became an issue without any explanation provided. If your gym is going to “change the rules”, please do a better job with communicating. For example, when I originally asked in May, if me using the courts to workout in, with equipment, would be an issue, that should have been explained at that moment. Another example, is having a sign or any communication visible stating so, so “former”members like myself would know ahead of time, and not while being interrupted while I am working out. I am happy to be joining Crunch Fitness, and look forward to a long, wonderful relationship with them. Please do better with your communication. Communication is always key. Also, from what I read from previous reviews, this gym and staff are aware, they are not the best. Looking forward to Crunch.

Don’t sign up here. Looks big from outside but it’s small. They try to lock you into a scammy contract and make it hard to cancel. They will try to charge you every single day when you change your credit card info. I added my son to my account but they didn’t give me the family rate which was wayyy cheaper in fees just another way of getting more out of you. Do better. Pay your broke employees more so they stop scamming. AVOID ALL LA FITNESSES. There are way better options.

Looking for new gyms in the area. Heard they had a recent model, gym looks nice initially but they make it impossible to find dumbbells or cable attachments. No stand, very limited on specific grips. They don’t enforce people reracking weights and say “we’ll work on it” with no progress over the entire week on that. People are super setting equipment across the gym and none of the staff says anything to make an effort to have equipment available for anybody. Each time I’ve come in the hot tub has looked filthy as well. Severely disappointed and looking to possibly just drive the extra distance away to crunch or something else despite this being right next to my apartment.

Pros: This gym is clean, rarely feels crowded even during peak hours, and has a good selection of equipment with plenty of options.
Cons: While this gym is a great choice if you're looking to sign up, I strongly advise against taking advantage of their "free evaluation" offered during sign-up. It's a process that takes more than two hours, and their primary goal seems to be making you feel inadequate about your fitness level to create a perceived need for their personalized training plans.
For context, I run over 70 miles each month, including a half-marathon every four weeks. Yet, the personal trainer had the audacity to tell me my endurance wasn't good. He was incredibly pushy and wouldn't take no for an answer. Eventually, I had to walk away from the desk because the trainer told me (and I quote) that my "lifestyle and habits I described to him are not according to the amount of fat in my body, that I basically told him BS." This was one of the most unprofessional experiences I've ever had with a salesperson.
After this experience, I truly understood why people are increasingly opting for online and AI-driven routines instead of traditional personal trainers. Some trainers, unfortunately, try to push you by discouraging rather than celebrating your successes, big or small.

Honestly the gym is okay. Staff was nice. Went here for a while and a lot of the stuff didn’t work right. Cable attachments were very old and run down. Half of the dumbbells are just scattered throughout the gym or aren’t even there anymore. And there’s a huge hole by the dumbbells in the ground that’s a huge hazard. Locker rooms were dirty too but thankfully I didn’t have to use them. The only positive was cardio equipment and the racquetball courts. For the price we didn’t feel like it was worth it and went back to our old gym

Okay as a backup site but not as a main gym.

Staff at the frontdesk is too busy talking to each other but good at answering questions over the phone.

Locker rooms are JUST as dirty as described in other reviews. The hot tub and Pool are both solid but the latter only has 3 lanes.

There are showers but no saunas and security is lacking (I prefer that a keycode be required).

There are decent treadmills and weight rooms but it’s again not as big as the other locations so unless you’re a casual member, you’re better off using the other locations and having this be your backup should the others be closed or if you’re in a hurry and only want a brief exercise session.

I've been a member here for close to 6 years now, and I've noticed some changes in management and how the condition of the facility.

1) This gym is honestly really dirty. The hot tub area especially. It is filled with misquote larvae crawling all over the pool deck. It's really disgusting and unsanitary. At times, the water isn't clean and has debris floating around when the jet isn't running.

The gym closes at 11 pm on weekdays, but for some reason, the doors are always locked by 10:30 pm. People sometimes get off work late and want to get a quick cardio in. It's just annoying having to drive all the way to the gym and to find out they close earlier than the expected hours of operation. It wasn't like that before, but I guess they've gotten strict with their hours. But 30 minutes early? C'mon..

Because of these reasons, I'm looking for a new gym soon. This gym has changed, and so has their service (specifically this location).
It's just not worth paying $27 a month for such low quality & service like this..

Yesterday was my first time at this location and there was no paper towel rolls in any of the dispenser at least 6 were completely empty including the women’s locker room and restroom. In the gym there was only one wiper container and it was completely empty. I looked for an employee before I left and didn’t find one. It sucks not being to clean a machine before or after and isn’t sanitary either.

The staff is soo nice but something I’m seeing being talked about a lot is the cleanliness in this location is off and I definitely agree. THERE IS NO WAY TO CLEAN machines after you’re done using them besides on small wipe container and its empty a lot. I would love to have a way we could all clean the machines. (one it shows we VALUE what we’re PAYING for and two it helps prevent things like sickness and smell.)It would be easier for them to have the spray bottle full of cleaner and napkins like other gyms. Also the ceiling has what I think is mold in some areas the locker rooms aren’t cleaned too often it seems. The machine placement is also kind of awkward you’re always making eye contact with someone because of it it’s kinda funny but I don’t like to look at peoples workout faces or want them to feel like I’m staring. But yeah I would definitely say that this place needs some work do some thinking before you sign up personally I don’t think the price reflects how this place is at all.

I have been going to this gym since 2022. I recently added the child access to my membership and my 5 year old loves the kid zone. It makes me feel great as a mom knowing that I can trust the friendly staff & get my work out in. I have never had any issues with the staff & they have always explained anything I had a question about. Everytime I go there is staff cleaning. I will continue to go here as long as possible.

ALWAYS packed. Never enough equipment and no space. I have to run to find a dumbbell and it’s rare that I can find one in time. There just aren’t enough. No space, don’t even think about showering (they nasty), if it weren’t for the sauna I would’ve canceled my membership long ago. There just aren’t any saunas in this area.

Edit: they also have ants. In the middle of January. I was using the sauna and found a trail of ants that went all the way to the women’s locker room. One of the ants bit me while I was in the sauna. How the ants are still alive in the middle of winter? No idea but they’re hungry.

My first time exercising in a long time alongside some family members, and the front desk staff were very helpful with setting up a guest pass. Josh was super kind, friendly, and considerate; he walked me through the sign-up process smoothly, and was patient when my email took a while to load. His welcoming and encouraging approach was reassuring, as I was quite nervous about exercising publicly at such a low skill level. I've been going to this gym for a couple of years, and originally it was great. I know some people had their issues, but that was not my experience. However, recently they brought on a new male manager, I'm not really sure what his name is. He's extremely rude to the customers.

I had a friend sign up to the gym before he showed up, and really talked up the experience. When signing up, he listed someone else for their referral program, where you can bring a guest for like a day or week. I don't remember how long. Anyway, when my friend brought their guest, he made them pay for a 90-day pass. Not just my friend though, he had a line backed up at the door & was doing it to everyone. I was incredibly embarrassed, and my friend eventually stopped going to the gym altogether.

Now, here's the real kicker. A couple weeks later, this same new manager was threatening the guests who were leaving that he would call the cops & have them trespassed. Why you might ask? Because, they were leaving the gym within 5mins of closing. That is the most absurd, disrespectful, and downright un-business' like way you could treat a well-paying customer. Now they've started closing a little earlier on Saturdays. Which isn't the biggest issue really, but if he's not going to value the customers, I think it's time to seek other gyms.

Also, the water smells like it's coming from the sewers. Doesn't matter if you're showering, which I no longer do for this reason, or just washing your hands at the sink. Something is off. All that said, the rest of the employees are great. It's just that one new male manager.

Well that was 3 months ago and he no longer works there.They brought this new manager name Josh B and Juliannna R and Josh B called me to tell me that my son was trying to use the gym giving my cell number. Josh immediatily said that I was going to have to show my I D before entering the gym. I explained to Josh that the manger Dominioque gave my son a 90 day pass and that he would give my son another pass after 90 days if I would accept the $49.95 deal instead of the special of $39.95. This was the 3rd time over 15 years at this location that I got screwed by a manager that promise a special. The worst was getting charged $215.00 on a auto debit after less then 30 days of signing up. This new manager Josh B is even worst because, why would he tell me that I need to show I.D. when they have a picture of every client when you scan your Bar Code. This was either harrassment or, improper trained new manager. Also, when you request to speak to the General Manager to make sure that you don't get screwed, they give you the run-around with all these different Managers. So, if someone tells you they are the Manager and they offer you a special deal, you better get it in writing because that Manager more the likely will not be there in 90 to 120 days. I have since canceled my membership before any other mistakes happen.

My last review was deleted by the business I’m assuming.

I had posted about how one of the Lat Pull-down machines has not been repaired in over 3 months, it’s now the 4th month and I’m assuming the clients ripped the sign off and started using it anyway, the knee pad that has been broken for almost a year is now gone.

Treadmills do not work and there’s plenty of them with a service sign already on it. They added the stupid little carpeted area that no one uses to actually workout and called it a day. Terrible management, switching back to fitness connection.

At this LA Fitness you definitely don’t get what you pay for.

Es lo más asqueroso que e visto primera ves que boy a esta ubicación pero se ve en cada espacio que ves lo sucio de años que no an limpiado da miedo tocar el equipo de entrenamiento repiras a sucio y desconfianza sin duda aquí no te escapaz de adquirir un virus de tan mal igiene. Pagamos hasta 3 veces más que planet fitness y definitivamente los supera en equipo y en igiene.... tengo las 2 membresía de ambos gimnasio y puedo comprobar que termino usando más el de planet fitness ya que casi en todos están con equipo obsoleto . Lo único positivo que encontré en esta ubicación esque tienen personal que hablan español y inglés.....

Decent gym, has all the fittings of a classic 2 story LA Fitness. However, they have some outdated equipment and limited amounts of certain weights (eg: only 2-3 10lb, 15lb, 20lb dumbells and it’s hectic to find the right weight whenever there’s a lot of people at the gym). Some of the equipment ergonomics feels like it fits best for a bigger person (leg press arm handles feel lower while weight stops feel higher, laying hamstring curl setting only reduce up to a certain amount so legs need to be longer, etc) There’s only 2 squat racks. The gym is clean. They’ve cut back on basket ball hours because of an incident. Back when they did have WiFi, the back part of the gym (where the dumbbells were) had laggy wifi and it would gradually get better the closer to the entrance of the gym you would get. Now, their WiFi hasn’t been working for over a month and even cellular service is laggy here! Also the gym would feel hot.

The steam room is always dirty with trash, cans, and bottles paper towels etc...Young guys are always bringing weights into steam room and dropping them destroying the wooden fence around the heater.

I always go to a Irving location and they’re super nice friendly and everything nice and clean this time. I went to this one to try it. They are nasty water. The pool and the Jacuzzi they are super dirty. It’s like they never clean at four months. I don’t think I will come back there.
