Come in today to enroll for membership, but the manager not come in yet. I asked for a day pass that i can use later. The front desk is nice, but another employee with dread told me to pay $20 for a day pass. Meanwhile there a promote online say that i can enroll for free for 3 days pass.

Finally ending my membership at LA Fitness. It started good but over the years the place has degraded. Being going here for 4 years, but seems like more and more rowdy people keep getting added, with more immature children. Along with thefts at the parking lot and really it doesn't fit my agenda, having them close instead of 24 hrs isn't worth it. Plus the owner or corporate went through a period of just different policies that were annoying like not letting people in at a certain time, not opening the door, no plastic tags, no certain objects in rooms. Became annoying especially when your paying for it. And then their the staff, they got increasingly more rude I got a video of a girl just kicking people out (10 min before closing), place is not welcoming like it used too, I miss the familiar faces..

Nothing really improved in this location
Most of the weight racks are missing weights, and some are totally empty. The same goes with the dumbbles rack.
Update june 2025 :
This place management is an absolute joke , none of the issues above were solved, and none of the equipment is updated nor maintained. The front lockers only 4 out of 14 are available to use for the past 10 days.
If it wasn't for my family's convenience, i would've joined another gym very long time ago

For some reason when I first came to this gym I went with my friend using a guest pass, but for some reason next week I couldn't come and that I needed an id and paperwork to vertified myself, what the hell and also the gym itself was dirty too, some of the machines had rust on it, there's weights everywhere and people keep leaving wipes on the machines.

Nice gym if they take care of it. The gym is very old there is rust and mildew in the pool area. The indoor water pool temperature is supposed to be 78-82 degrees. Sometimes is so cold we can’t swim more than 10 minutes.They only clean the pool twice a week and check for chemicals only once a day. It should be checked 2-4 a day for ph balance. How much money it take to paint couple rusted white doors? They don’t invest so slowly the place gets worst looking. It all depends who is the manager running the Gym. Right now this new manager is doing a good job. But they don’t stay long and a new one comes within few months.

On Tuesday around 1 p.m., my friend decided to get a workout in and checked out a nearby gym, LA Fitness. My friend went online and signed up for a free day pass. When they arrived, my friend showed the front desk employee the confirmation code and proof of ID. The employee, who I unfortunately didn’t catch the name of but was an Indian man, medium height (around 5’7”), and of average build, told my friend he could only accept an ID that was from Texas. My friend didn’t have any other form of identification, so the employee denied my friend entry to the gym. But then, the same employee had the audacity to ask my friend for money if they really wanted to work out there. How are you going to turn someone away and then ask for money????

Now, I don’t know if this is a new policy from LA Fitness, but if it is, there should definitely be a big sign at the front door saying you only accept Texas IDs. Also, please train your staff to provide better customer service. The entire situation was unfair and handled poorly.

I love coming to this gym because it's close to my job where I work as an Insurance Agent. I love to see the regulars that have been working out at this gym for years. The staff is also great. I'm always greeted well by the front desk members. The janitor, Mr. Luis, is a very kind and compassionate man who does a very good job creating a friendly environment to always come back to. Hoping there will be more funding put in place to support the staff so they can maintain better equipment and keep the gym's hygiene well.

This is where I started my gym life after being attracted by the sauna and swimming pool in all LA Fitness locations. Unfortunately swimming pool is the least I can use. It is always fully occupied in the mornings! This is comparatively old location with older equipment and old building. That is ok but as they started cutting the shampoo in the showers, I am trying to goto other locations. Some other locations have shampoo, conditioner and body wash where this one only has shampoo and looks like they are even trying to save on that cost too, by leaving the containers empty. If not about cost saving, there is a good problem of management here.

My car has been broken into twice within a few weeks, and along with 10 other vehicles in the same evening... FYI Security is needed that’s the least LA Fitness can do for the safety of the customers vehicles.

The cleanliness of the gym is always top tier, and they have the friendliest custodial staff, but that’s about it. All the equipment is rusted and old, majority of the treadmills and stair master have been broken for over a year, they don’t have a complete set of dumbbells nor kettle bells.There aren’t barbells at every bench station, The t bar row got broken and they never decided to repair it, and just got rid of it. This gym is decent for the most part. I really like that the Cardio is upper floors and the weight training is downstairs, to separate the two. Women area only is a great idea and nice pool, wallball rooms, and Sauna amenities. Gym is pretty spacious and cool smoothie place in the back. It was nice when they would go around and give samples. That didn't personally annoyed me and appreciate the gesture.

Front staff were pretty cool and they are friendly and greets you, actually, most of the time I've been there. Small things like that is appreciated!

Locker rooms were decent in the Men side speaking. But it's weird they have the first area coming in with two table-like seatings and the others just one. Naturally, more people like that first area cause there is more room to sit and set your stuff down. Would it be hard to get a bigger table if can't accommodate two? It's like this gym doesn't really go out there ways at times to make things better for it's member or do minimal things in my experience, which seems to be a common thing here.

They should really look into taking care of their equipments more, because like 70% of the Cardio machines barely works. It's annoying to switch treadmills (if any available at the moment) because it won't elevate, the belt is too slippery, or the speed buttons are jammed. Gym's making banks, but can't invest in y'all equipments or maintenance?

Sometimes it takes forever to get something repaired. The water fountain in the Men locker room has been slow for more than a year I've been there versus how it is outside. It's takes a good minute or so just to fill up my bottle rather like less than 10 seconds outside. I mentioned this a couple of times but nothing really changed. Do we have to say something for y'all to notice something not working as intended?

Weights need to be put back often because you can't as hell count the members to do so lol. Also to enforce more to stop slamming the weights because it takes more strength and infinitely more impressive with controlled form versus vice versa. Most of the time they aren't heavy weights smh. Maybe have better education for the new members joining in decent gym etiquettes and why they are effective. Things like put back the weights where you found them, don't hog multiple equipments, etc. More people need to know, and other than the gym, like you won't be hearing from LA very much within the App nor email. I feel can make the gym a better place and we can be more productive and mindful in our workouts and unto others.

As far as cleanliness, it's good for the most part. I don't see sweats everywhere and the floor looks dry. Maybe the showers can use some bleaching more often cause it can look dirty. And the Saunas are not too bad nor wet everywhere all the time. Don't know if y'all use air fresheners or clean good, but the gym doesn't smell bad.

But it's really annoying if there is no paper towels at times. Like really, it's not worth the effort to keep these in stock for your members? It becomes unhygienic really quick. At least they have sanitizing sprays handy consistently.

This LA was closer to home and I like the placement of the equipments and division of the sections versus other gyms. Price I paid for a single club was reasonable and I never really have an issue in safety whether in the gym or outside. No shootouts or too crowded like Fitness Connection lol and they maintain a decent amount of atmosphere I guess.

It's not 24 hrs (y'all remember 24 hrs places not actually 24/7 lol) but the latest hrs is up to 11pm M-T, 10pm on Friday (one hr difference for some reason), and 8pm on Sat and Sun (a little early in my opinion).

I really think announcing over the speakers when the gyms about to close not too effective, cause most of us have head/ear phones on. Have a visible signal like blinking lights 30 min prior rather 5 min and the TV upstairs showing a timer or something.

It can definitely be better, but wanted to share my honest experience and what I think so far from that date of my review.

This is an old club that needs to be remodeled! It needs ceiling fans, it’s hot inside. It also needs more 10, 15, and 20 pound weights. The signature club in Richmond has 7.5, 12.5, 17.5 and 22.5 dumbbells. This locations needs these weights as well. Every one that is a member of LA Fitness should have the same experience with the same amenities.

The LA fitness is at this location (9025 hwy 6 S Houston) is fine. There are lots of weights missing particularly 15 lb and 20 lb and they are misplaced i.e. they are not organized properly according to the sticker labels on the racks which are also not clearly visible. Plus, a lot of treadmills are still out of order and even the incline option did not work on some of the working ones.

This is the worst LA Fitness I have ever been to. I joined in 2005 when it opened. It was high class. I'm not sure what happened, but what a disappointment. Unfortunately, it's the closest one to where I live. There are five Stairmaster and for at least the last year four have had out of service signs on them. Only one works! That is pathetic.

If you want to go to the worst gym in Houston then make your way here. All of the equipment is from the 1700s. Good luck finding any dumbbells since everything is thrown all over the gym. You have old people taking naps on equipment, younger people hogging 30 sets of dumbbells for their "super sets", and staff that's are so focused on their phones that they don't care that people continue to steal weights under 30lbs. The ONLY good thing about this gym is that it's not packed like the other gyms in the nearby area. If you don't mind a busy gym that has lots of space and great equipment for half the price of LA Fitness then I'd go to Fitness Connection.

The Operations manager on HW6 in Mission Bend tried to tell me that LA fitness had the more locations than any other fitness gym. Muhaaa ha has ha !

Good equipment, but the main room has almost no AC and bathrooms don’t have any AC. To make it worse, the bathrooms are connected to the pool area, so it’s extremely humid in there.

Small location, several items were broken; bench, smith machine, etc.
Too many "kids" taking videos, gossiping and taking up room. Obviously not there to work out instead look at selfs in mirrors or chat. Mens dressing room smelled with minimal ventilation.
Will definitely NOT return.

So I just find out that they are going to close the kids club which is not convenient for people like me who have kids and have nobody to watch them.. thinking about going to another gym now! 😐

This place has 0 dumbbels like 5 10 15 etc.. It's small and doesn't have that much equipment. I recommend to go to a signature. Only good thing is that this is close. Actually sad

Update: Don't get me wrong, the people here are really cool and the vibe is chill. After working for LA Fitness I truly can say I despise how they handle business. Children manage the gym and they have a shelf life of 3 months. They don't care that the gym needs improvements. Many times we would be told that when the club is profitable in corporates eyes they will actually invest more into the gym. That club hasn't bonused since 2018, meaning dead last in clubs for 4 years. The constant change of staff and their sense of entitlement and power can truly effect a good gym vibe. I recommend fitness connection or dynamic fitness. For the prices you can almost afford 3 memberships for the price you pay at LA

If there was a way to give less stars, I would. Horrible staff, they just sit in the corner and talk to each other. Wet floor sign are rarely put out, but the floor is also cleaner than the equipment. Do not remember this la fitness.
