Wish they had a no phone policy. You can't get a workout without worrying that someone is recording you. Just not in the weight lifting area it happens in the classes too. The facility is not well maintain, it always smells.

Machines are broken for months, sometimes there's clean towels and for the price you pay this place should be managed by someone adequate enough to have everything in working condition.

1 star for the hardworking custodians who keep that place clean and towels coming when on shift

Another star for the machines still working after all the beating they take 💪🏼

*update* - nothing has changed

Ugh! There’s this one guy who ALWAYS leave his Pokémon Go thing on a machine and/or station while he’s on the OTHER SIDE OF THE GYM to block people from using it while he’s doing something else! ITS SO ANNOYING!!!

I’ve been going to LA Fitness for a while now, and overall it’s a great spot to stay active. The equipment is well-maintained, and there’s a wide variety of machines and free weights. I especially appreciate the group classes—they keep me motivated and add fun to my routine. If you’re looking for a full-service gym with flexible hours and a good vibe, LA Fitness is a solid choice. Thanks Rick

*LA FITNESS PLEASE CLEAN/RENOVATE*

The gym smells horrible.

The restrooms smell even worse.

One side of the basketball court isn't fixed and it's been like that for over a year.

They need to do a deep clean and/or remove the carpet and flooring and maybe that'll make the gym smell better.

They need to buy new lockers for the men's restroom.

They need to add more paper towel stations.

They need to buy new gym equipment , many are outdated.

The gym overall meets expectations in terms of quality and price, although it could use some remodeling. However, I’d like to respectfully call management’s attention to a serious issue that affects the comfort of many members.

On more than one occasion, I’ve had uncomfortable experiences in the restroom and sauna areas. In one instance, an individual inside the sauna engaged in indecent behavior in front of others. This kind of conduct is completely inappropriate and creates an atmosphere of disrespect toward members who simply wish to relax or exercise.

The gym should be a safe, clean, and respectful environment for everyone, regardless of gender or orientation. I believe management should increase supervision in these areas and enforce clear behavioral standards to prevent such incidents from happening again.

I do appreciate the gym’s overall service, but this matter in the sauna and restroom areas requires immediate attention to ensure a professional and healthy environment for all.

I have been postponing writing this review, and every time I see the manager walking around -especially if it's on a weekend- I feel bad for not doing it. The good part is that I've gotten to know the place well (for 10 months). The best times are mornings, when an energetic crowd is working out and very focused, so they can finish and go to work. During the day, it is calm, with many retired people and nice energy; less favorite time: between 5 and 7, which is more crowded and unorganized, as some are often on their phones. Even so, the place is huge, so you'll find empty bikes and machines to use.
The place has a good vibe and all you need, not pretentious and real, normal people trying to feel and look better, no selfie-freaks…, and for that price, c'mon, if you want more, pay more! The classes are good and fun, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I really like this place.

Incompetence and LA Fitness are synonymous. They make it very easy to sign up and impossible to cancel your membership. No leadership, no ethics. Management and staff are extremely unqualified to do the simplest of tasks like canceling your membership… when I signed up I specifically informed them and asked them to not make it hard to cancel because it happened once before. They assured me it would not be hard this time . Save yourself the trouble. It’s not worth it, drive a few blocks down the road to another gym.

Place needs renovation or deep cleaning bad. AC likey works poorly, warmer than other locations, i.e, people will sweat more on equipment. With that, Found little sanitary wipes throughout gym.Gym etiquette is lousy by members when I attended. High pri Dumbbells are nearly always missing. Also… why did they think it was a great idea to place the heavier dumbbells on the top shelving ?? Crazy.

First, club does not have a pool and has not had one for years. They do provide towel service for an additional $10/month, but right now it’s been 3 weeks that there has been NO TOWER SERVICE, no credit for the lack of service and no explanation as to what’s up. This has happened other times this year.

I’ve been holding off on this review in hopes of this location getting better but it’s gotten worse somehow. I’ve been a LA Fitness member for years and I started frequenting this location 2 years ago. The staff does not care and this shows. They don’t even enforce basic gym etiquette. I saw a gym employee tonight shrug off a person FaceTiming their friends and screaming at the top of their lungs in the middle of a busy gym. This went on for a solid 15 minutes. The general attitude and vibes sucks here. A random dude and his grandpa or something came up to me to say they hate veterans because I guess they saw my Wounded Warrior Project backpack. It took a lot for me to walk away as I am a veteran myself. Just not a fun place to be in. I only use
this location because it is convenient but at this point I’m willing to travel 20-30 minutes to a different club. By the way, this is a “Signature Club” with no towels, no swimming pool, and at least a dozen broken machines at a time. There is general neglect of everything here. I honestly think it would be better for LA Fitness as a whole to close this location down for good because they are embarrassing themselves at this point. No managers will probably read this review but I hope it helps the next person considering a membership here. Go to Sugar Land, Richmond, Katy, Bunker Hill, Yale or literally any other LA Fitness location and you will have a 100x better experience.

I really only come to this gym out of convenience since I live almost right next door. I’ve recently been branching out to try other gyms that are 15+ minutes away. When I joined in October they told me the pool will not be fixed due to the foundation cracking and blamed it on Costco for not closing down for 24 hours for repairs. I’m not 100% sure if I believe that.

Machines have been broken for months. Equipment is mid. There’s little gym etiquette. Wipes are always low or non existent. They charge extra for towels. The carpets are badly stained. I don’t even play basket ball but the doors are now chained. Very sad for its location.

The gym gets extremely packed during peak hours. So I’m not sure why it’s not really taken care of. Which is really disappointing because I am a huge fan of LA fitness.

I’d save your coins and go to another gym.

I am not sure why this location is a “signature” location. I upgraded to the signature not long ago because I wanted to use the basketball facilities and expected a nicer experience at a gym. If you’re thinking of coming here I’d save your money and go to the regular LA fitness or another gym. The first day I joined I walked into the basketball court to find only one side having a rim up. I played here for about 6 weeks and the other half of the court never got fixed. To top it off, they ended up changing the basketball hours to 9:00am-6:00pm during the week and closed on the weekends. Basically anybody who works normal hours doesn’t have the opportunity to play. The machines were run down and the locker room was old. There were never any towels. The staff here has not been friendly and I feel I ended up paying more to have a lesser experience. I was also charged a “enhancement fee” when I canceled my membership. That’s right… I got to pay additional fees for a gym I was leaving. This makes zero sense. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. I had 10x better experience at the heights/yale location where I paid way less.

Updated:
The bb court is now chained and locked on weekends (sorry working folk) and still has one rim?? Mmk. It's summer and they still refuse to turn on the AC..my eyelids are sweating! Oh yea..and I killed a roach. Probably my last time at this location.

I'd like to update this review later.... Call it minor, but I do not want to hear other people breathing, the machines cranking, the treadmill steps, etc.... TURN THE MUSIC UP!!! I don't want to be blasted out of the gym but a nice medium would be WONDERFUL. It's a poor experience coming here to get a groove, but all you hear is "gym noise"...even conversations.

Also, what's the issue with the temperature? Lately it's been ridiculously hot, no matter the time of day. Early AM or late nights, I start sweating as soon as I walk in.

I have One Pass, so I can literally work out anywhere, I choose this place for several reasons but it's been very disappointing lately.

Update: 6.19-Nothing has been done so I'm removing a star. This temperature is ridiculous..and where is the other rim???

Okay gym, the guy at the front desk was pretty disrespectful. Came in and waited since I forgot my key tag instead of walking straight through like everyone else. Entered my number 5 times, and he was adamant I didn't have a membership. Next person pulled it fine but as I walk away, called me by my name, and still questioned if it was me. I must look like a broke houston beaner to them or like folks they dont want in this gym. I pay the extra every month for "signature" the past 8 yrs, and they never even towels available and old equipment. Only writing this review so they question themselves before profiling the next person.

Frequently failing at the basics, like simply keeping paper towels in the bathroom and locker room.
There used to be four paper towel dispensers, two in the bathroom and two in the locker room.
About a month ago they took out two of them so now there’s only two paper towel dispensers and they can’t manage to keep them filled.
(There are no air hand dryers)

Not having paper towels discourages people from washing their hands.

2 stars is pushing it, the gym is hot all the time. The floors in the dumbbell areas are bowed & worn in. They are always running out of wipes and offer nothing else for us to wipe machines down with. The women’s showers smell mildew…and there’s constantly hair caught in the drains. Ladies… clean your own dang hair! Also… on 2 occasions now I’ve been there and men have come into the women’s locker room!! MEN!! While women are changing/showering/sitting in the sauna! Unacceptable! I only come here because it’s close to my office. Not sure why it’s called a signature because it’s far from it.

Add on to review, 1/27/21: There is about 40% of people not wearing masks. It simply is not enforced. I have to really strategize to keep away from them, since you can be asymptomatic and infect others. I also fear for their health, but what can I do? I have asked the front desk to reinforce the mask policy and he announces something on the intercom, but everyone has head phones on, so it's useless. I am very, very disappointed, but I must exercise for my health!
This is a very nice, well equipped gym. It is a little bit of a hassle getting into and out of, as it is located inside the Costco complex. The gym is kept clean and neat. The receptionists are friendly.
One word of caution. I signed up with a guy that told me he was the manager. I asked for and received assurance from him that I would not have to pay a renewal fee each year. Because I was opening two memberships, I felt that was a fair discount and would save me $100 per year.
Each day I went in I would ask him for my contract with the discount. Once he told me he had to discuss it with "the VP", another time he said he sent it (he didn't). I started to smell a rat. After a month I had not received a receipt for the money I paid, or a copy of the contract.
Turns out "Mr. Manager" wasn't a manager at all. (Why someone would look at me in the face and lie is beyond me). My contacts with the Corporate office only referred me back to the REAL manager. She said she could not honor the discount promised to me. Gee thanks. Nice to meet you too.
So, having started my relationship with the gym on a very negative note, I say, "Buyer Beware". It is not at all extraordinary at all for discounts to be offered to new clients, especially when there are two memberships being purchased.
I just wish I had not been lied to from the onset. It started the entire experience on a very negative note. Whoever this guy is, he should be terminated.

This gym is great for me for one reason location near work and home. Besides that always running out of sanitize wipes to wipe equipment, it’s constantly Hot as soon as you walk In which causes bacteria everywhere the charge for towels is ridiculous based on paying extra for it being signature LA fitness and they advertise pool but it’s not even filled or available. The people who own this La fitness do not care about anything but making money and complimenting positive reviews rather than responding to all the negative ones and taking action to repair and fix this place up. This gym is honestly pretty terrible. They advertise it as a “signature” location, but it’s far from it. The whole place smells bad, and the men’s bathroom constantly reeks of pee. It’s gross.

They run out of wipes all the time — like, every week — which is ridiculous for a gym. Now they charge extra for towels, and there’s no pool. For what they’re charging, that’s just not okay.

The place feels old and worn out. It seriously needs a full makeover — new floors, better cleaning, the works.

This gym is okay but it’s not something the deserves the “signature” designation. I have been a LA fitness member for over 15 years and used to go to this gym for several years in a row before leaving to a different LA location and returning early this year. They seem to have an issue keeping towels available for some reason and the cleaning wipes run out constantly. However, the gym is clean overall and staff is pleasant but they have a major issue fixing broken machines and sometimes they just get rid of things completely instead of fixing them. If you see a broken machine you might as well forget about it for several months and hope they don’t just remove it. For example, they used to have 3 leg extension machines and a single leg ext. Now they have only 1 leg extension, which has been broken for 2 months and has no signs of being fixed and one single leg extension which is one of the most poorly designed pieces of equipment I’ve ever used. The fact a supposedly premium (“Signature”) gym would only have 1 leg extension for the entire gym in the first place is wild but then on top of that they’ve let it sit broken for 2 months. There’s also a glute extension machine that has been broken since at least March 1. They did fix a leg press but it took them multiple months to do that. At LA fitness in general seems to be impossible to get ahold of anyone with any authority. If you put a message through the app you get a generic email back apologizing saying they’ll fix it with no estimated date. If you call the customer service line on their website it brings to the front desk of the location closest to you. When I call the number I was given for the help desk for complaints I was put on hold for 20 minutes and then hung up on. My generally feeling based on this is LA Fitness the company doesn’t really care much about members.

Used to come to this place every day, I had an LA Fitness signature account (been with em for 15 years).. Came here today and asked for a towel.. Oh towels are now 10$.. Really? That was part of the signature experience. Asked the guy so what's "signature" mean, because it used to be an example of the nice club with nicer amenities.

No pool, no racquetball, old machines - signature just means "in the city" while Yale LA Fitness is nicer, new equipment, pool , racquetball and a lot more and not 'signature'.. I've paid this extra every month for 15 years for why?

Just go to LA on Yale.

Hand the elevator outside is broke all the time but I'm sure that's the property fault.

Apparently, I am not the only member with a high level of dissatisfaction (based on other written negative reviews I'm seeing here). The latest issue with this "Signature" club on Richmond, is that it still calls itself "signature" when it started charging extra for towels (always no charge prior to that). So, I upgraded from "normal" LA Fitness a few years ago, and started paying $5/month more. Shouldn't I get my $5 extra back in reduced monthly fees, if that extra amount that I'm paying doesn't get me towels?

This club is even below a standard club, as its swimming pool has been empty since the freeze of a few years ago that burst its pipes.

I am certainly looking for a new club with good equipment (and a pool, if possible) in the medical center area (up to richmond), so would appreciate any suggestions.

Thank you - Erich

I’ve been an LA fitness member for years. This is by far the worst and most disappointing location I’ve been to. When I enrolled at this location 2 years ago, I was paying additional fees for the “signature”towel service. Only to find out they were allowing just anyone to use a towel until recently. The next sudden policy change? Being told that gym bags are no longer allowed on the floor period. Either place them in the sketchy locker room where theft has been known to happen and bring your own lock for the locker, or keep your bags in your car in the even more sketchier parking lot and risk your car being broken into. Need to carry your equipment because they barely provide any? Too bad! Need to carry any personal products like their towels or your phone or AirPods or medicine on you? You’re SOL and not allowed your bag period. Just fumble your belongings and place them on the musty floor like so many people are now left doing.

Not to mention if you’re still willing to sign up for a membership here, be aware that there is no pool. Yes, you’re paying for one and they advertise it as functioning, but it has been empty for YEARS. Want other amenities like the basketball court? Oh, they keep that closed too when they feel like it.

I will say, the only positive thing I can think of are the FEW employees who try to care and are kind. Management, please do not let your team nor your customers down. Please try and listen more and at least try to provide your customers with a better experience than the one we are currently experiencing. This place really needs to turn things around.

EDIT: They now dont allow you to have bags on the gym floor. This place is getting worse by the minute with these ridiculous rules. They also took away the complimentary towels as well.

im extremely disappointed at the gym. The gym is always hot. The water fountain near the bathroom literally smell like throw up. Some of the floors near the weight are so worn down it's just a giant hole. This gym is just dirty overall.

I do not recommend LA Fitness due to the poor customer service I experienced this week. I approached the front desk to request a written statement regarding a recent gym bag policy, and the representative's response was incredibly unprofessional. She rolled her eyes and told me, "If you do not like it, go somewhere else." This is no way to treat a long-time member who has been paying for a membership for over a decade. It's disappointing to see such a lack of respect and poor judgment in handling simple inquiries. Definitely not the service I expect from a gym I've been loyal to for so long.

They got a new manager a couple months ago that's on a huge power trip.
Took away towels, and today (11/19) refuses to let people have gym bags on the floor. Went around harassing anyone with a bag.
I've also seen her yelling at staff for not enforcing her new rules (some very kind people, I feel bad for them)

Edit: I really just need to stop coming to this gym. They are now enforcing a new “bag policy” with no advanced notice not allowing bags on the floor. Leave the bag in a locker (provide your own lock) or in your car. Reason why? Depends who you ask. On top of that we were told it’s an every location thing which seems to also be a lie.

Instead of focusing on member experience by fixing broken machines, properly cleaning dressing rooms and not having personal training shoved down your throat. They decide, no more bags. Lifetime is looking more and more appealing everyday

Gym is way too pushy on their personal training. I’ve even been accused of being a personal training and getting my membership revoked for showing a friend how to use a machine. Staff have followed me around since (it’s been over a year).

Super unprofessional

I’ve been an LA Fitness member for two years and never had any issues—until recently. They’ve implemented a new policy banning all bags from the gym floor, claiming it’s to prevent theft from the locker rooms. Ironically, their solution is to force members to leave their bags in the very locker rooms where theft is happening. The alternative? Leave your bag in your car, where I’ve personally seen windows smashed multiple times in the parking lot. So now, I’m left choosing between two equally risky options, neither of which is acceptable.

For the past two years, I’ve kept my bag with me while working out, like many others, to hold my gym essentials: equipment to prevent injuries, wallet, keys, headphones, water bottle, and anything else I’d rather not leave unattended. This policy not only makes workouts inconvenient but also forces members to juggle their belongings awkwardly or leave them lying around, creating a chaotic and unprofessional atmosphere.

What’s worse, when I politely asked to see the new policy in writing, the staff couldn’t provide any documentation—just a casual “Hey guys, no bags allowed anymore.” To top it off, the gym has no problem letting people work out in completely improper attire, like flip-flops or even some individuals will be working out in underwear.

This lack of organization, communication, and professionalism is unacceptable. LA Fitness is prioritizing poorly thought-out policies over member convenience and safety, and it’s disappointing to see the standards at this location drop this low.

I’ve been an LA Fitness member since 2012 and have used various locations across different cities, but the Houston locations are by far the most disappointing. Recently, I’ve noticed a significant decline in the overall experience.

Today, I was stopped at the entrance and informed that backpacks were no longer allowed in the gym unless stored in a locker. When I asked when this policy was implemented, the staff member told me it started yesterday. While I understand gym policies are necessary, there was no prior communication or heads-up about this change.

Later during my workout, the same staff member approached me again, this time telling me to put my shoes on—completely ignoring the fact that I might have been switching shoes after being asked to take my belongings back to the car. When I requested a copy of the new gym rules, I was met with a dismissive response: “Sir, I’m not going to argue with you. I can get someone to help you with that.”

For me, the issue is not the policy itself but the lack of communication. Customers shouldn’t be reprimanded for not knowing about sudden changes that weren’t communicated in advance. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first issue I’ve had here. A year ago, I was incorrectly told my membership wasn’t valid at this location. Then came the removal of towel service.

I’ve always been a fan of LA Fitness, but the standards have really declined. A little transparency and better customer service would go a long way in improving the experience.

I was informed, after requesting a small towel, that i would either need to upgrade my membership, or pay $2.00 for the use of a towel. Apparently, LA FITNESS changed this policy effective September 1st. In reality, I could easily pay the $2, or bring my own towel from home. However, I am beyond over all the nickel and diming that is being done by businesses. And with regard to LA Fitness specifically, the Richmond Street and Yale Street locations look dingy and run-down and always have equipment that is not working. Yet, here they are requiring $2, or upgraded membership, for a small towel. What's next? Pay-to-use toilets and showers? I will not be renewing my membership for next year. I think I'll explore Planet Fitness - they're at least a lot more affordable at $10 a month.

Don’t believe any of the good reviews here, there’s nothing to like. Those good reviews are likely friends and family of the manager.

This place is the WORST value when it comes to gym memberships. You’d be better off joining a planet fitness because the equipment is way nicer for only 10 a month. I wouldn’t pay 10 a month for this location it’s so bad!

I have talked to the members here and there’s not a single person who likes it.

Terrible............definition of this place in one word. If you are one of those who read the reviews of the places before going I hope this is useful to you. It no longer has anything of a signature club, but the new manager charges you 10 dollars to use this location if you do not have a signature club membership. I do not have one but I have sold here since 2018 and they have never charged me. DIRTY locker room from 5am. Disgusting bathrooms and showers full of mold and many with clogged drains that when you start to bathe, masonry water emerges. You have to pay for the towels and they are dirty, smelly rags. The epa is closed as is the basketball . Equipment and machines are out of service and a carpet that smells like a sweaty dog. Unfriendly, rude, and rude staff like the manager Megan. There is no doubt that consumer rights are violated here by charging for a service that is not provided and using deceptive and fraudulent policies. There is definitely evidence and testimonies and someone has to answer for the fraud committed by thousands of people who come here and pay a high fee for a mediocre and inefficient service.

The bad reviews are accurate. This is the worst LA fitness location in the greater Houston area

The gym equipment is wobbly, broken and they’ll end up removing it all together if you mention it to them. The reason this location is hot because it is above the Costco location. Where do you think all of the heat goes from their cooking?

The bathrooms are dirty and the members are aggressive.

Spend the extra money and try out a real gym like Lifetime or Equinox.

Could be a great gym if better managed. Front desk crew is polite and welcoming but all the rest is seriously below any standards. Poor housekeeping especially in the bathrooms where on the same stall same hair was there for two (2) weeks. Men restrooms air vent does not work and always smells fecal matters. Then the disabled parking is used by very able customers to park their fancy cars (Corvette, BMW, Mercedes) without permit and clearly with a complicit management not enforcing the rules. If you are disabled good luck finding a legal spot. This place needs some serious ethical clean up. And serious real cleaning.

You have to pay additional fees for towel service - defeats the purpose of being apart of the Signature Club. LA Fitness is on the decline because this puts them on the same level of other gyms that were beneath them. The upgrade to other gyms may or may not be worthwhile to you if there are certain things you're looking at in a gym/club. The pool will never be filled again - it's been empty since COVID. Not sure what they tell new members. Basketball courts are closed indefinitely, sometimes they open at 5 which is weird, more fights happen in the PM.

It took them 3+ years to repair a Concept2 rowing machine - it's cheap and easily repairable. You don't need expensive high-end rowers. Other gym equipment is also in need of repair, but it seems they don't let those go unrepaired for long (debatable). I stopped coming for a while and recently came back since the rower was kinda repaired. But now the screen doesn't work and it's not the batteries because I asked the front desk. The glamour of this gym chain has lost its charm since other gyms are coming up. For reasonably similar prices. Idk who's the executive decision maker on the towels, but that's cheapening the brand more than creating value. Wi-fi is always down and needs to be reset.

I dont post many reviews unless it's absolutely warranted (good or bad) but I had to here. This location is the nastiest LA Fitness that I've ever been to and I've been to many locations across the country.

The restrooms were disgusting. I got there at 5a right when they opened on a Monday morning and nothing had been cleaned the night before or the morning of. My skin crawled as I dreaded using a stall to use the restroom. The toilets were the worse that I have ever seen.

After my workout, I wanted to take a shower and the showers were filthy. Gobs of hair, grime and filth in the shower stalls. I decided to find another location to take a shower. No way was I taking a shower here.

For a signature, or even any LA Fitness, this is absolutely unacceptable. I saw the reviews prior to visiting this location so I expected some issues but this was ridiculous.

I will NEVER go to this location again and I would advise anyone reading this to stay away. If you do decide to go, just avoid the locker room/restrooms/showers and you should be ok.

Just signed up and was here for the first time. I joined this club only because it had a basketball court. Today I go when it opened and the basketball court is out of commission. Looks like from the reviews it’s been that way for awhile. I’m wondering why no one told me this when I signed up here less than a month ago. So today I’m one of the first ones in and I go to the locker room to use the restroom and I’m noticing how dirty it is. I’m wondering why it’s not spotless since I’m literally one of the first ones here. The night crew should have this place looking brand new every morning. I hop on a bike and the handles are sticky like someone spilled juice on it. After the bike I jump on a treadmill and notice spots on the sides like someone just spilled juice on it but they were sticky so it had been there for awhile. I’m scared to go back and use the weights and weight Machines. I’ve been going to gyms since the 80’s and only spent about 70 minutes here. It’s nasty and with Covid increasing in the area I’m not sure I feel comfortable at this gym. Management you need to have people cleaning this place at night and have at least two people cleaning machines and restrooms throughout the day. If it’s consistently dirty and the basketball court doesn’t open soon I’m unsubscribing and moving on. Whoever is ultimately responsible for this place should be ashamed. You need to do better.

The biggest reason we love to join the club is the Zumba dancing as taught on each Thursday (7-8 pm) and Saturday (9:45-10:45 am) by the best instructor named Jill Barbour. Her ways of teaching are just so creative and much fun with each beautiful songs going with her most lovely dance that are always action-packed along with great excitement for the full hour class. We are very much enthused and touched by her most clever teaching as we sometimes give her some very beautiful Chinese songs for her dance teaching - she did it in the most creative and fabulous manners that are so fun-packed and made us sweat throughout the whole class!! Why pay signature dues and keep basketball gym closed for MONTHS without explanation?

May cancel because no use in paying extra for amenities that they don’t offer, or even care about.

Many hoopers like myself look forward to the playing basketball, fun way to get cardio in compared to a boring treadmill.

Keeping the basketball court closed also over saturates the weight lifting area given that hoopers have nowhere to play, increasing wait times for machines and screwing up workout regimens.

This is super frustrating. Literally locks on the doors for no reason… and been like this for MONTHS. May be time for a new gym…

Facilities have gotten cleaner and the staff has become more friendly. They have also appeared to fix the sauna so it is nice and hot.

OG post-
Great gym for the price, but not as nice as a LifeTime Fitness. It feels spacious, clean, and there is a decent selection of free weights and machines. People complaining about the facilities should go to a club that cost $150 a month or try the 24hr or other LA in the area. Signature club is decent, but not a spa.

The sauna here, at least for the men, has only one level on one side. It makes it not high on one side and also less seats. Other than that, I have no complaints

No idea how they pass this off as a Signature location. So many machines are dirty and broken, holes in the ceiling, smells terrible, floor is crooked and torn up, pool has been down for a month. People don't re rack weights, no staff wipes down machines or puts weights back. Limited supply of lower sized weights (or maybe just never put back.) Who knows? Staff is unfriendly, “Personal Trainers” are pushy and rude if you’re not interested in signing up for their incorrect and risky services. I have witnessed members being trained by these so called trainers doing incorrect form that can potentially injure them and their trainer just stand next to them on their phone.

Place is so overcrowded and 1/3rd of their machines have been broken for months. There was blood on the ground from a member that got cut by a cable machine that came loose and it took the staff close to 25 minutes from when I informed them of the blood to come clean it up with one of the small towels and then throw it on the dirty towel bin instead of disposing.

Bathrooms are disgusting and unsanitary. There are bodily fluids in the sauna and on the shower floors. God knows what happens in there. All in all avoid this gym. Firstly, the staff seemed disinterested and lacked the basic courtesy expected in a customer service environment. Requests for assistance were met with indifference, and it felt like I was inconveniencing them by seeking help or guidance.

Furthermore, the facilities were not adequately maintained, with broken equipment and unclean areas being commonplace. It’s disheartening to see such disregard for hygiene and safety, especially in a space dedicated to promoting health and wellness.

Moreover, the administrative processes were a nightmare to navigate. Membership issues and billing discrepancies were brushed off with vague responses, leaving me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer.

Overall, my experience with LA Fitness highlighted a glaring lack of professionalism and importance placed on customer satisfaction. For those seeking a reliable and customer-focused gym experience, I would strongly advise looking elsewhere.

I have been going to gyms for 25 years and this place is horrible. over crowded and everything is broken. The sales GM is garbage and they try to push over priced personal training for 30min sessions and then try to lock you in to a "Contract" with 6month and 1year term. I would give them a negative star review for the sheer level of unprofessionalism and sales tactics that they use on people.

2 out of 3 leg extension machines have been broken for over a month, as well as 1 of 2 leg press machines. Go to another gym where you will get a better value for your money.

Had been going to the Medical center location that abruptly closed. Equipment there was up to date. Plenty of space. Now have to go to Greenway location. Yuk ! Machines have exceeded their useful life; rusty/clanky. Move the stuff from the Med Center location and freshen up the place !!

This is a terribly run gym. There has been equipment (common equipment like leg extension) broken for 5-6 months and equipment is all over the place or even missing. They literally won’t fix it leaving a single machine to service hundreds of people, literally fights over it. There was even a location nearby that shut down even with this entire reserve of a full gym work of equipment they can’t seem to grab a U-Haul and restock themselves. It’s crowded and odds of getting a full workout are closer to getting a Yahtzee

I came here due to the signature club off of Holcomb closing. I’m not sure whose in charge of cleaning the men’s locker room but it’s filthy! Ants in the lockers, mold on the ground and in the showers.

The cleaning crew at the LA fitness off Holcomb always kept the lockers amazingly clean. For this to be a “signature gym” they really need to do better.

A few machines are down and need to be fixed, but it’s a shame to have “signature pricing” without signature cleanliness.

The locate on Holcombe closed without notifying us. I discovered when I went to that gym; I was charged $3 for the 5 min return trip from garage to gym. When I asked for the $3 at this location, I was told “sorry, can’t help you.” But keep paying is your monthly signature dues. Meanwhile, upon exiting, a Lamborghini was parked right outside the front desk in a handicap spot.

I would have shared some values with them for that $3.

I had a bad experience at la fitness westtimer street as the Spanish customer service agents /front desk seems very vicious and not sure also they don't speak much English etc 😃 defentely should not be there unless there is no other gym in Houston , manager also supports not welcoming front desk it's crazy do not good at all !!

This la fitness shouldn't even be a signature club . Just because you have towel services doesn't make it a signature club . They have like 2o treadmills and half dont work . How Long has it been since this gym has been upgraded? The restrooms are dirty . Also couldn't find one clamp to use on the bars . As i stated this gym location doesn't live up to a signature club.

I personally enjoy this LA Fitness. It conveniently located right by plenty of restaurants, shopping stores and a Costco.
The gym is well spaced out, so it never feels crowded even when there's a lot of people.

All the equipment seems to be well maintained and in order. It's a great location to swing by if you need a quick workout while on break or out shopping or a good spot to make your new home gym location.

Edit: Machines have been fixed and maintained. The pool still isn’t working but the gym has improved and so has staff. From 1 star to 4.

It's shocking to see how many machines aren't being fixed, and the poor quality overall. The location is good but Lifetime fitness is just around the corner. Not worth the price or your time.
The only positive about this gym is that it is clean.
