I've been a member now for almost a year and sadly I don't make it often, which is my fault. However when I do go, I'm a bit disappointed. The machines look like they haven't been wiped down in years, especially around the base. Sometimes there are cleaning supplies, but most people don't seem to care to use a towel or wipe down the machines before and after they use them. My biggest disappointment is the class schedules, I would love to see more classes between 7-9am and some step aerobics options. I don't want to have to drive 20-25 min to another LA Fitness for a class when this one is 5 min away.

The positives are the sauna, quantity and variety of equipment, and overall layout. Wondering when the juice bar will open?

This gym is huge - it has two floors.
It managed not to have one single fan installed. 🙄
The showers don't have a place to put your things on, while you're using it.
It can also be very crowded between 5 and 7 pm.
People don't wipe after using the machines.
For the price a member pays, it was kind of disappointing😞.

I work out here 3 to 5 times a week. The amenities are top notch and they are the only local gym with an Olympic pool. The staff are awesome, Jeff and JT are always friendly and welcoming. If you’re serious about working out this is the spot.

I love the convenience of all the L.A. fitness locations !!! I utilize the Arlington/Six Flags, Pipeline Road mostly and the people are nice and generally the gyms are kept pretty clean. I really appreciate to sanitizing wipes that are available too !

HUGE shoutout to Dre for his wonderful tour and friendly personality. His attitude convinced me I should get a membership.

Before visiting LA Fitness, I used my apartment complex's gym. After the visit, it was hard to go back. LA Fitness had everything I wanted but couldn't get in other lackluster gyms: multiple free squat racks, a clean pool, rowing machines, turf and sleds, calf machines, and so much more. It was clear from the tour the gym was clean and taken care of. I was particularly impressed with the staff who were all high quality employees. While LA Fitness is a little pricier than other gyms that I won't name, it is 100% WORTH EVERY PENNY!

While this review is for the Hurst location, I also use the White Settlement location. Everything said here also goes for the White Settlement location.

Canceling a membership is near impossible. They are in breach of Texas state bill 1835 section 1 amending 702.304 requiring them to allow cancelations by email or telephone (they do not allow either of these options).

Call their corporate office and alert them to the breach of state law when you cancel and they will cancel it over the phone.

The staffs are arrogant and rude. The manager keep saying this is my gym , I am in charge kind of statement if you ever question their service level . And they will call the police to revoke your membership if you try to reason with you point out what they are doing are violation the contract you signed. Let me start by saying I’ve held a membership here since 2021, and I stopped going about a year ago because I was given a year membership to a different gym. Today I came in because I wanted to run in and use the aquatics area and get a quick steam. I don’t know what has happened but it’s clean… like actually clean, everyone was so so nice, and it seemed to have be updated. I’m thrilled that they made the necessary changes because now I want to come back everyday. Way to go management!

I have been a member with LA Fitness for many years on and off. I am shocked honestly at how run down the place looks and feels. Work out machines I would say are at least 25+ years old and worn down and often broken. Carpets are ancient. Mens dressing area often smells awful. Trash bins located anywhere in gym are usually overflowing and for days. I would guess at least 25% of running machines dont operate properly and the music speakers are right above ones head to drive one crazy. I no longer go there because it's so run down. It's clear to me that this chain hasn't put a dime into its older gyms in many many years! I dont know why they dont increase gym monthly prices ...if they would use that increase to upgrade carpets, equipment and cleaning staff. The company just doesnt bring in enough revenue to upgrade anything ever apparently.

I’ve had a membership here for years. I recently lost my card and had to cancel it. I guess my payment didn’t process… so to LA that translates to call 13 times. Edit: they locked the FREE WEIGHTS in the Zumba/yoga room and stated that it's only meant for classes now. I think they said that it was due to gym members either leaving them out or stealing them...???

Firstly, guys, what a stupid thing to steal.

Secondly, we pay to use these weights and we can't unless we make one of the class times that don't really fit the schedule of a working person.

I think the pool is still nice and they do keep the locker rooms clean and nice. But still, I'm really disappointed that we can't use something that we pay to do just that.

I actually liked it a lot! I was kind of nervous due to the numerous bad reviews that popped up recently, but I'm happy that my experience was a positive one.

I will say that people working there do seem a bit overworked, and it's most likely due to the staff shortage that's not THEIR fault. But, they were nice! And the person who had helped me get the guest pass was also very nice and helpful.

The pool was very clean and not crowded when I went, as was the women's locker room and bathrooms.

I will say that the weight rack as a bit of a mess when I went, but I'm going to say that's more on the people who are not putting them back than the staff.

More importantly, I'm a self conscious person when it comes to working out, and I didn't feel judged while doing my thing nor was i pushed into buying a membership right away.

Save yourself the headache and avoid this place at all cost. Run by teenagers that have absolutely no idea how to handle customer service, they’re more worried about walking around and flirting with the members. Men’s locker room smells like wet dog due to the moldy carpet, Kids club closed in the middle of the month without notice. Jeff who is the supposed operations manager is NEVER there or they say he’s unavailable. No one over the age of 21 can be found after 5pm. Oh and want to cancel since the services you pay for are no longer available? Good luck. This place is a joke always dirty and managed by no one. I’ve been in a lot of gyms over the years and I’ve never had to leave a review like this, hopefully its closed and someone with basic gym knowledge opens something up.

Dirty sadly. Great facility otherwise. The pool has algae growing alongside it. The hot tub has stuff stuck on side thats been there since I went to get in Saturday and still grossly there. Water level is very low too for hot tub. The showers don't look like they've been cleaned in quite a while either. 2 weight machines had someone's dirty kleenex just sitting on top of them. I went in the next day and they were still there. The staff is incredibly friendly and kind. The facility has a lot to offer; especially for the pricing. It's just sad it's dirty. No photos- respecting people's privacy at the gym.

I have been using this location as my primary training for more than 4 years! It has been a great experience. However, a new trainer, she interrupted my workout by approaching me with “I have to train them now” where there was a similar machine within 15 feet available. I have watched the machine I was working on for 5 min that no one using it before I started there. Rather than ask me when I was going to finish, she demanded me to give up the machine. I found it to be rude and inconsiderate. If there is strictly not allow anyone to use the personal training area then there should be clearly stated that and please be only in that designated area to personally train people and leave the other machines for everyone else to work on. It was annoying to interrupt people in the middle of their exercises.

I have friend's who swim telling me the pool and whirlpool have been shut down for months due to some infectious problem that health department won't let them reopen. This review is since the recent buyout of LA Fitness to Esporta. This is used to be a great gym but since the buyout, everything has changed to the worst!

Cons:
-Extremely inflexible staff and procedures! Don't plan on getting sick, getting pregnant, or anything that disrupts your schedule because they will not do anything to accommodate. Got sick with covid and were told we can freeze our account, only for that manager to quit and no one wanting to do it.
-Since the buyout , employees/trainers have been quitting, leaving customers with very few options to accommodate their training schedule.
-managers lack knowledge of procedures; so make sure to have everything in writing or else they will say "we didn't say that"
-personal trainers program is extremely expensive for the quality of service.

You are better off at another gym!

This is by far the worst gym I’ve ever stepped foot in. It was dirty and smelled really bad. They lack decent equipment and the machines are terrible. The gym is dark and gloomy inside and they blast terrible outdated music. I was greeted by a guy at the front desk who was in the middle of eating and kept talking with a mouth full of food and couldn’t be bothered to put his sandwich down so I could barely understand a word he said. He also repeatedly called me the wrong name. I left in the middle of my workout to finish lifting at the gym I usually go to. Yes, it really was THAT bad.

I was looking for another gym because I got tired of the NRH centre. I got a 3 day pass and here is what I’ve seen after two days….
Cons- restrooms smell like urine, customers are supposed to clean the equipment they use but only a few do and I haven’t seen the employees do it so the equipment is a little “dirty”, a few machines I used could use a little preventative maintenance to work properly, none of the water fountains are turned on.
Pros- plenty of machines and a wide variety of them, people are friendly, music is always blasting, good young crowd around the 9am-10am time frame which is opposite from NRH centre.
I’m gonna request they clean the restrooms better and if so I’ll prob get a membership there.

Great please to workout! I just recently started personal training and they are fantastic and supportive. Really push you to your personal limits, keeping your safety in mind while they do it. I have gotten the pleasure of training with both Avery and Sean, and I couldn’t recommend them enough. If you are trying to hit that goal and need the extra push, I suggest coming here!

Understand you may be experiencing a shortage of staff due to the pandemic, but this is unacceptable. The cleaning guy is roaming the locker room while at least 5 females were present (11/1). I've several gym membership and never have I experienced an uncomfortable encounter (twice now). He did announce himself once halfway inside, although most of us were in the sauna, shower or bathroom stall. Please correct this immediately before this risky act becomes a liability for LAF. The young personal trainer on duty apologies although seemed unconcerned and said to contact Jeff. My chances of going back to this location are very slim.

We signed up for 1.5 year contract and paid in advance. Total was 1600. Covid hit and they said we could suspend our membership. After never using the gym once we get a call asking if we want to renew. I said my account is suspended. The manager said no that was only complementary for a month. You got to love service like that. They only reach out when they think they can get money out of you, but never reach out to see why we had never shown up at the gym after spending over $1600. I travel the Metroplex and stop in various La Fitness locations all the time. I was passing by this location today and decided to give it a try. It was Friday at 11:30 AM. Not very busy. Gym was clean. Equipment was modern and functioning well. Cute girls. I had a good workout. Don't listen to the one-star complainers; this is a good gym.
