No manager is available during open hours to address serious issues like theft. My mother's belongings were stolen from a locked gym locker after someone broke the lock and went through the bag. The staff treated the situation as if it were minor and offered no meaningful assistance or follow-up. It’s unacceptable for a gym to show so little concern for member safety and security.

I joined this Lewisville location just two months ago. The specific reason I signed up was that the previous manager promised I could add guest privileges for $5 and pause/resume that feature whenever I needed to at that fixed price.
Now that the old management has been terminated, the new team refuses to honor the deal I was sold. They are now demanding $30/month for guest privileges and telling me the old agreement doesn't matter. It is completely unprofessional to punish a customer because of internal staffing changes. If you sign up here, don't expect them to keep their word.

Renovated but maintenance not done well. Sauna is constantly broken, and water fountains still broken after months and the water bottle refilling station filter has been red for as long as I’ve been coming here.

Free weight section is way too cramped and benches are too close to the weights. Hard to get weights and drop weights off.

The dedicated weight lift gym portion is nice with many dedicated power racks.

Overall machines are nice but bad maintenance. No reason for water fountains to be broken for months on end.

I had to move to the Lewisville location because apparently Coppel is “renovating,” I come to find out they are basically rebranding the Coppel location where regular memberships will be useless and you will need to get a new membership that’s a RIDICULOUS price. They told the Coppel people they were gonna be back in November but didn’t mention their memberships would be useless. So now everyone and their mother is at Lewisville, it’s way too packed and suffocating the place is unsanitary, there are never wipes to clean the equipment. Don’t get me started on coming hear on peak hour 4-7 pm, I’ve honestly left a couple times because of people hogging and camping around machines. Definitely canceling soon this is so disappointing.

Sauna is been out of service for over a week, they out of paper towels so often, some of the man showers out of shampoo, and some other out of work for over 3 months, now this week the hot tube is no working properly(none of the jets are working) the water fountain to refill bottle's one is no working properly for over a month and the one is out of filter for over 3 months, the guy that takes care the man’s locker room attitude is awful to say the least they need to clean house since they close the signature club in Coppell and the only close location to Coppell is this one.

Staff is caring. Facility is conveniently located for me. But the locker room and pool area are severely degraded. Mold and disrepair is ridiculous. There was 1 shower with soap, some didn't have handles. Dry sauna and pool heater was not working. Jacuzzi was dirty and need of a good scrub. Time to look for a new club.

The gym is nice after the remodel… Only problem is why spend money on a remodel if you’re not going to continue to clean the locker rooms where most of the hygiene should be kept clean? The sauna is broken at least once a month there is roaches all over the men’s sauna and half of the lockers have already been broke clean off the hinges. The floors are so dirty you can write your name in them which really shows where everybody’s hard earned money is going to keep all this new equipment and new remodel fresh. This gym has plenty of potential if only they could spend a quarter of the time worrying about hygiene instead of money

I gotta say - most of the LA FITNESS clubs are on the decline but not this one. Over the last year, they doubled the cross fit turf area, replaced the basketball court with a full powerlifting area, and even fixed the hot tub and sauna. Never had an issue with staff and the overall cleanliness is above standard. Credit where credit is due!

Would be 5 stars because the upgrades look great but can't get over the fact that they keep up with basic needs sanitation. In the month and a half since the Coppell location has closed they have ran out of paper towels and sanitation whips for multiple days at a time. This LA fitness is definitely worthwhile as they’ve updated the gym with a new area of the gym with new equipment that is quite functional. The only caveat with this LA fitness is that it gets super packed because they just closed down a gym nearby creating an influx.

This gym does have a dry sauna that works well but it has broken down already since its recent remodeling. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Only LA fitness I have been to across the country with no basketball gym , main insensitive to pick LA fitness over planet fitness is the basketball gym & the sauna. The sauna here always seems to not working for the men side all this money you guys received to get rid of the basketball gym? But let’s keep racquetball where maybe 3 people are using waste of space & just ridiculous. This has become my favorite gym! The recent remodel looks great, and you can tell the manager is working hard to improve things. Cloe is always friendly, helpful, and remembers us by name—she’s a standout. It's also great to see familiar faces from the Coppell location!
On the downside, some staff don’t seem engaged. The General Manager is often on her phone using bad language and seems unapproachable with her headphones in, which turned me off from asking about personal training. Also, the assistant manager keeps reintroducing himself like we’ve never met, even though we have three times.
Overall, I love the gym and the effort being put in, but some of the staff could show more care.

Their MAKE-OVER did not remove the moldy ceiling tiles, fix the roof leak nor did it replace the ventilation still spewing out mold. There is a roof leak causing black mold to pour through the vents into the gym. I called corporate and they don't care. I will call the dept of health bc being poisoned with mold is dangerous and toxic as mycotoxin poisoning can seriously damage ones health. My hair, eyes and lungs burned while inside. It is unfair that corporate doesn't care about the health of the employees and those forced to switch bc the gym they are rebranding has zero mold and my family has been a member since 2019. I will call the dept of health if the club refuses to remedy the mycotoxin poisoning as the vents and ceiling tiles are in fact riddled in visible mold. Please care. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP and they don't answer the phones apparently. Zoom in on the ASPERGILLIS NIGER (AKA BLACK MOLD) spewing out of the vents. The club wreaks despite their ridiculous upgrades, which improved nothing. Nothing like painting over the mold, stirring it to make it travel throughout the club, and the smell of mold is THERE. I ran out twice getting benadryl bc of the mold. I do not care if you can't smell it becuase it is absolutely in the air and I can never set foot in there again due to my severe mycotoxin and mold allergy. What a shame.

I was recently forced here by the Coppell Signature gym closing. I’m not happy, I went from very new equipment to very old rusted equipment with most of the cardio equipment upstairs scheduled for service with no A/C. It’s an overly crowded gym & the sauna was so hot that it would set you on fire after a minute of sitting in it. DO BETTER PLEASE!!!!!

I called to cancel my membership because I don’t live anywhere near an la fitness.
And what I thought was canceled years ago never went through. So I called to get it canceled and the operation manager didn’t know how to help me. Besides send me to someone else. After the remodel the club removed the traction mats in the pool area and walkway creating a slip hazard. Significant slip risk and liability without the mats, especially for older folks. The old mats were in great condition before the remodel.

this gym compared to my last one in coppell is lacking in so many ways but all you need is a good workout the sauna is great . they have new machines in and it gets the job done .The smell inside the gym however is one that needs adjusting to . Now that the Coppell signature club is closed, the Lewisville location would be the closest LA fitness in the area. Before I went to the signature club, I used to frequent LA fitness in Lewisville. However, I decided to make the signature club my home gym because the Lewisville location at the time was not managed well, and that was seen in the upkeep and maintenance of the facility. Now that the signature club is closed, the Lewisville location had a renovation. They do have new equipment and some old equipment that was transferred from the signature club. They don’t have a basketball court anymore and instead that area was transformed into a dead lifting area, which is actually designed well. The sauna also had a renovation and looks great. We’ll see how the maintenance and upkeep stands the test of time. It’s all about how the facilities is maintained and cleaned that really distinguishes a gym from others.

I will say, though that the male locker room, and I’m sure it’s the same with the female locker room, is too small. Smaller benches and definitely a smaller space compared to the signature club. I can only imagine during the busy hours how cramped it would be in the locker room . So that was poorly designed.

Though they do have new equipment and have done some renovations. There are still many areas that were not improved. For example the shower rooms were not renovated and do not look at all acceptable for the reopening of a new gym. The pool did not feel like it has the right amount of chlorine in it, and the bottom of the pool had quite a bit of dirt scattered all around. Also the sauna although it was renovated was scorching hot beyond safety measures. The thermostat was reading 250°.

I will tell every member all about the inhaled Mycotoxins which absolutely burned my eyes, lungs, causing me to cough. I’ve tried canceling my LA Fitness membership multiple times both in person and over the phone but they continue to charge me. When I called, the employee admitted that canceling is intentionally difficult because only the manager can do it, and they’re only available Monday through Friday. Sometimes they even require you to come in person. It’s ridiculous. I’ve cancelled many times in person and over the phone months ago. They can clearly see I haven’t used the gym in months, but still refuse to stop billing me. SCAM. Avoid at all costs.

UPDATE: The Federal Trade Commission has filed a lawsuit against LA Fitness, accusing the gym chain of making it unreasonably difficult for members to cancel their memberships.

Love the Zumba instructor ( I’ve only tried Thursday night and Sunday morning ) and they bring in new classes ( I saw they are putting a reformer Pilates studio )

MALES WORKING IN FEMALE BATHROOMS
The male worker is supposed to enter the female bathing/changing area for cleaning after closing or before the gym business hours starts. It's very uncomfortable as a woman to step out of the shower and see a grown man staring at you.
I have made a complaint to the manager, front desk & will be reporting to corporate.

This gym used to be good but no more with the change of managers and staff. Filthy pool, restrooms and locker rooms. Won't be renewing my membership.

I've been coming to this gym for two years and the ladies locker room is never clean, holes in the ceiling, in the wall and the pool area is disgusting, paint coming off the ceiling falling into the water and the ceiling over the storage bin that the water weights are stored has plaster all in it where have been working on the ceiling for weeks

I typically dont like leaving bad reviews and the gym itself isent that bad, I'm not a picky person but I went in around 2pm there was a basketball team around 15 or 20 ppl having a team meeting on the court so I started shooting I dident even shoot around for 2 minutes and one of the guys came up to me and said I dont mean to b a a-hole but we're about to start practicing (basically telling me I had to leave) I don't see why I had to leave i technically dont think i should have but i did leave just cause dident wanna be that guy. I pay my membership just the same as anyone else and it's not gyms fault these people came up to me but maybe it should be known it's a public court and if a member wants to use the court they should be able to. It's only happened once, but if it happens again, I won't be as nice and just leave.

Within the last six months, this club has started to deteriorate. I spoke with the manager about repairs and maintenance and she was obviously frustrated also. Since this is a privately on corporation, there is not much that I can do except write a poor review on Google. However, each LA fitness club is different. This is the second time I’ve been in the last three weeks where there has been no hot water for the showers and or the whirlpool. I don’t believe anybody will do anything about this review but at least I’m trying.

The place has thieves roaming around. People break into the locker room and steal items. My cash was stolen from my gym bag even though I locked up my items in their locker room. All this happened within the peak hours 5-7pm on a weekday. Just imagine how likely it can happen if you go in off hours. Many lockers doors are broken badly, no doubt this has been happening ever since. They take hundreds of bucks as initiation fee, yearly fee, and still its not a safe place. Had I been knowing this, I would have never joined. I dont recommend going to this place.

The gym is pretty good. Some equipment needs repairs. 2 showers on the mens locker room have been out of service for more months than I can remember. I think there is one clock in the wall the actually still has a viable battery that works. All other have been removed and NEVER replaced when the battery has died. I don't even bother asking about things like this. I even offered to buy batteries once if it was a problem. These are little things that add up to big things, but it is what it is in today's world. Nobody really cares! Overall, the gym is ok.

This gym has fallen completely. I worked out at this location 2 months ago and it was somewhat clean. It’s disgusting dirty now. Bathroom was gross, pool area very dirty with everything from dirt, hair and bugs. In pool too. I wonder if they ever clean. I get people come and go but it’s worse than just people coming in and making small messes. Won’t be back. Just got rid of membership.

This place is TRULY THE WORST!!!! Stay away from this place folks as far as possible. Plenty of other LA Fitness in the area. There's a basketball team they are here everyday from 10AM- 6PM they use 8-10 machines all at once. They'll leave dumbells in the mens sauna area completely leave the weights around won't re rack not a single regard for other members etc. Don't waste your time guys avoid this place at all cost. The mens locker room is disgusting and filthy. This place is a nightmare

Awesome staff, especially Al Ervin. He's very professional from start to finish. He answered all my questions and was very helpful. The gym is great overall - just wish they can keep up with filling the sanitary wipes to wipe down the machines. I know some people just don't use them, but it is still necessary in the gym environment.

Just getting into the gym again and already the staff running this place have made a great impression and helped me feel welcome and committed to the work of self-care. GM Al gave a very informative and well-paced tour of all the amenities and walked me through the variety of pricing options you won’t see on the website. He set me up with an included one-time session with Bryce W. who walked me through my goals, motivations and current status.

Bryce was thorough in breaking down the goals into understandable metrics and taking me through layered exercises that would more efficiently work the targeted muscle groups.

Though circumstances are such that I could not afford consistent personal training their prices are certainly competitive for the DFW area and I recommend you to their services.

This is by far, the cleanest, friendliest and best placed workout equipment of an LA Fitness in all of the N. Texas. The front desk staff greets you with a smile and a hello, and Lydia has the entire gym and locker rooms sparkling. She keeps the women's locker room in perfect condition, no hair, toliet paper, or paper towels littered all over the ground like most other LA Fitness locations. The equipment is clean, no dust or excess dried sweat accumulated. I truly appreciate this locations hardwork and dedication to providing a safe and sanitary place to work out. I feel good when I enter and AMAZING after I leave because of the experience I am provided due to the staffs hardwork. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are appreciated.

I've been a member of this gym for almost two years, and overall, it's been a fantastic experience. The facilities are consistently well-maintained, with a wide array of machines and benches available. However, there's room for improvement in the bathroom cleanliness. Despite the efforts of the diligent cleaning staff, some members neglect to tidy up after themselves, leaving behind unpleasant surprises. Perhaps displaying signs as gentle reminders could help foster a more considerate environment. Despite this, I genuinely appreciate the friendly staff and enjoy my time at the gym!

I've been visiting the LA Fitness location in Lewisville, Texas, a few times a week for several months now, and I'm pleased to report a noticeable improvement in both the facilities and the overall experience. While this gym isn't fancy by any stretch of the imagination, it's become my favorite LA Fitness in the area and is definitely worth the price of admission.

The once unsanitary state, marked by grime-covered equipment and floors, has been replaced with a clean and well-maintained environment. The staff, now more engaging and attentive, contributes to a positive atmosphere that I appreciate.

Though the gym has transitioned to a sterile wipe dispenser system, I still prefer to bring my own paper towels and a small spray bottle. This personal touch doesn't detract from the fact that the gym's commitment to cleanliness has significantly improved.

In summary, this LA Fitness location has turned things around, offering a clean and well-managed gym experience that's a great value for the price. If you're looking for a no-frills fitness center where you can get a solid workout, I highly recommend giving this place a try.

Turns out it is a scam and I was lied to. When I signed up I was told my friend could go to the gym with me anytime or by himself as long as I gave him a pass each time (I travel a lot for business). Ha lies! Turns out the pass is only good once every six months!!! The basketball court was another must have. They have one, but it is used as a volleyball court. Moving forward I decided to cancel my membership and called the phone number given. After a long wait, I was told I had to call a different number to cancel. FYI When you sign up you have to pay for the first month and last month fee. During my second call, they said I had to pay for the months fee for them to cancel or go in person to cancel. By the way you can only cancel Monday through Friday 9 am - 5 pm. So I had to take time off from work for this nonsense. One more thing, you will be charged an annual fee during your first or second month not during the last months of your 12 month cycle like they say.

My membership has been the same for four years and I have always paid in full for 12 months every year. My wife and I usually play raquetball once every two months or so. Beginning this year they no longer allow me to bring a guest, ever. It normally would not be a big deal, but since I paid for a full membership 12 months in advance I am stuck with it until my renewal. I will not be renewing due to this reason. They could have told me that some of my perks would be revoked prior to me spending 600+$. Figured with me being a member for four years they would at least acknowledge this and refund me my remaining amount. Zero stars for this!!!

Nice gym but we literally only signed up here specifically for the kids club hours and this location never has a person at the kids club. Every time we show up we have to leave and go to another club which is extremely inconvenient and when we call they never know if someone is coming in or not...

I was given a hard time using it.
After the 3rd attempt I was able to use it.

I wasn't given a tour or any information on the service, next steps etc...like they do when it's your first time at a gym.

However I was able to use the 3 day pass after the 3rd attempt.

I really like this gym but the main issue is there is a basketball team in training that will literally sit at machines even if they are not using them. They will circle around and have a meeting even if the gym is busy. And it’s been a constant issue for months now. I’ve talked to other members and they agree. There’s no gym etiquette or consideration for others working out.

Great gym and great people. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the regulars are easy going and have a genuine desire to help their fellow gym goers. I can spend half a day here just enjoying the sauna, playing some racquetball, getting some weightlifting in, swimming in the pool, and rinsing off afterwards. Their workout machines cover everything you need and their layout is intuitive and easy. This can meet many different workout goals for you and is a great place to call your local gym.

Soooo last week and this week I was denied access to the kids club. Last week they had a shortage of employees…..Today(4-3-23) They were at max staff for kids due to one person being in there.
