Purchased the kids club since I just started my membership. The first time when signing my son up I asked if there was cameras and the lady made a bad face and said no, which is no big deal it was just out of curiosity. Within 15 minutes of our workout they said our presence was needed and when I came in the lady had my son sitting on the chair for about 10 minutes and he was crying hysterically. I was told because one of his toys accidentally hit another kid. I get it if they are hitting but if it is an accident and to hold him down is not right. I do not recommend this kids club.

The sauna never heats to 180 degrees like it should. If you bring this matter up to the staff, especially cleaning lady, she'll argue and tell you that it's running as it should. (129-139 degrees) They have a posted sign that clearly states that the sauna operates at 180 degrees. I've already brought this is up to 2 staff members, nothing has changed.

This place is trash, we been paying the membership for almost 2 years and have gone there maybe 6 times. They been getting free money, I recently called to switch the primary person. The reason when we first open the account the manager Eulises had told my sister he could put her first and once i was able to come in he would switch it to my name. Since the beginning it supposed to be under my name, But for one reason and other I was not able to go. It's been 2 years paying for something we are not using and not wanted to cancel I called today to switch it like Eulises said he was going to, now his saying he can't. Were is the integrity of him and the establishment. its disappointing to have places that dont keep there word or have a customer service and speaks about community and helping ppl.

Every time I go into LA Fitness it's super clean. Because of that people always rack their weights it's never messy in there. Getting a workout is easy when it's cleaned and everything's in its place. They recently updated the gym with a more modem look and new machines.

Who's idea was it to get rid of the exercise bikes and put in fake electrical ones. Not even close to the same workout. Bring back half of the real exercise bikes.
Over half of your gym will approve.
These electrical bikes are terrible amd nowhere near the same workout. You can even adjust the seating correctly to hit different parts of your legs.

Pros: clean, well-kept gym, locker room, sauna. good equipment. Not as crowded as other gyms around here, even during peak hours. 2 guest passes anytime.

Cons: limited open hours (especially weekends), no bags allowed on the floor. This particular location has limited leg/glute equipment that I enjoy (no glute drive, no v squat, no Hack Squat, no glute hyperextension) and limited grip options for back/row machines. I like to watch my form when using benches in the free weight section, but the mirrors appear to be mounted higher than most gyms, so it's not really possible when sitting on the bench.

Overall, it's a good gym, but missing some key items in my book!

Equipment type and variety is great for compound and isolation workouts. Lot's of free weights in dumbells, few barbells but enough for a couple people to get sets in. Sauna is great, locker room/showers/bathroom kept very clean throughout the day. Staff is nice and always give a warm welcome.

Mike Q is a phenomenal trainor and a super nice guy. He managed our sessions expertly and took into consideration my physical limitations due to numerous health issues. After working with him for several months I can tell such a difference!! And I am continuing those workouts at home now. He was such a blessing to me health-wise and physically. I just signed back up with LA and was disappointed to see they have changed their hours to open at 0800 on Saturdays. Myself and others were waiting in the parking lot to get in. Not sure why they don't open at 0700 instead of 0800. Also, when I was a previous member, I would go into the training area to use the kettlebells since that is the only area that seems to have them but now they have the section completely roped off to training. Not sure I'll keep the membership long due to the weekend hours open a bit too late for me.

The front desk receptionist with maroon hair on one side and blonde on other side "EL" needs proper customer service training. Young girl was irritated because I asked her to help with correction of my email in order to check in with my phone app. She told several lies about our encounter. Best gym ever!!!! Friendly atmosphere and great machines. The instructors are trained and certified to teach class. They are very friendly, play great music. They provide warm ups and cool downs and modifications as needed. I love this gym. No heavy metal rock music to workout out or in the classes like Retro Fitness in Pasadena. All was heavy metal or screaming music. How are you supposed to workout and excerise to that? Also no good air conditioning. Always hot. Great air conditioning here!!!

No se mira mal el gym, hoy es viernes y a las 10:20 pm iba a tomar una ducha que no mas tomaria cuanto máximo 10 minutos y pues cerraron el gym conmigo dentro lo cual no encontraba como salir, fui por la puerta de emergencia no se podía salir, pues estaba bloqueada la puerta pueden creer, me fui por en frente y tuve que deslaquear la puerta para poder salirme, no se que consecuencias pueda traer, les hice llamada al gym cuales una contestadora me respondió que esta cerrado. Pues tienen que tener un poco más de responsabilidad pues no entiendo como el manager no anda checando las cámaras, que la hora de cerrar me dijeron que es a las 11 pm de lunes a viernes

This place has gone downhill in the past few months. The pool and hot tub surrounds are disgustingly filthy. The coating has come off the hot tub surround, leaving a very rough surface which collects grime. The men's locker and shower rooms have filthy floors. The grout is black everywhere, and dirt has built up on the floors. Periodically the drains around the pool are stopped up, and one has to walk through water to get to the locker rooms. I've seen no one doing any cleaning of the floors other than cursory mopping in the locker room. The whole place is dirty.

I joined this gym using all Active and Fit through my health plan. Can't comment on member services and the whole sign up process for joining the gym directly. Only used the pool and locker room so far, but this is a really nice LA Fitness -- lockers are really nice, everything looked clean, pool was in great condition (though strongly chlorinated, which I don't mind). There's a very good handicapped accessible shower, with plenty of space to move around and a large bench, handheld shower, regular shower and grab bars. I have back issues, so I greatly appreciate handicapped accessible facilities.

They recently banned gym bags from being on the floor and require them in lockers, which I find odd as I see multiple people that like to bring their own equipment in their own bags, and now no longer can because of this stupid rule. I personally bring a really tiny bag to put my wallet, phone, keys, and earbuds case in. It's so small, that it doesn't even block any walkways and is kept close to me at all times. Yet bags are now banned, so yeah I'm pretty annoyed, especially with an expensive gym like this. Don't really want to buy a lock, just to lock up a few small items, that I'd prefer to keep on me anyways.

Edit: I've been happy until recently. I have started swimming to learn and the main reason why I joined this gym was that it was CLEAN! I dont know what changed, if anything, but I see hair, gum, candies, bandaid, tissues. It's just disgusting! Women, we are NOT filthy pigs! Clean up after your dirty selves!!! Anyways, I have seen maintenance come to clean but I don't know how often or how thorough they are. It's gotten really gross and I'm uncomfortable walking barefoot there. Even at the pool. I have seen the pool boy clean the water by just running a machine, but how often is the water itself fully cleaned/replaced? Also the sides of the pool are filthy too. I see the same trash that was there the day before. I really liked this gym. For the absurd price tag it should be kept up to the highest of standards. If you are out on the floor with weights/machines it definitely looks better but be ware of the pool and restrooms!

This gym isn't very big but it has so many of each machine that I've never had an issue of waiting at all. Plus even at times it's busy there is still enough scarcity that it doesn't feel as intimidating being full of people.

This is by far the worse front desk service of all LA Fitness in all Houston area locations, this pertains primarily to the morning service as this is the time I visit. The service for the past 9 months has been non-existent. For the existing LA members let you facility know about the service so that the establishment can fix the situation. The service here has NO “acknowledgement”, NO “have a good workout”, NO eye contact, NO “Good Morning” NO INTERACTION whatsoever. Putting your scanner on the counter, continue to watch social media and not acknowledging the member is unacceptable.

Front desk is the face of the company, first interaction with their members. I have brought this up to the facility twice and no clear outcome that is will fix the situation not with me personally but for this location. This issue was brought up six months ago and was addressed, it was a tad bit better for one week and back to the normal rude behavior.

This comes down to the management team, listen to the members, bring up the issue, have warning and consequences and address the problem as needed. Domyour due diligence, check cameras, ask your morning members, or even ask corporate to do a survey. Once in a while the behavior is tolerable, as people we all have our own personal issues but nine months of the repetitive behavior is just not right.

Think - what position is csr front desk? Happy smiling, contact service, fake it even if you have to smile service. I’m sure LA Fitness didn’t hire someone to play on the phone during the shift to bring this attitude.

Well, to be honest, local mgmt did address the issues, they pointed out to the intended front desk that I was the person to address this issue. That person now knows who is complaining and my service from the front Desk is solved but they does not do justice for the other members of the facility, I have nothing personal with this person and nothing against that person. If I was managing the facility I would have done better than treat this as an isolated incident. As very recent changes has seen that I am not the source of the problem but I am trying to do a service to the company. Anyways I have send in my cancellation mail, I will not be coming to this particular gym.

On a bright side, As overall LA Fitness is pretty good, it was just this particular gym that bothers me a little, I am contemplating about canceling still because as a whole most All LA fitness facilities are satisfactory. Best regards to all

Last night There was a male staff member that walked into the womans locker room without announcing himself prior to entering and it was before closing time. He went in to tell us to clear out. Which we WERE all out before 11. I had just showered and barely finished getting dressed, had he walked in even seconds before, he would have walked in on me undressed. Superbad experience with this fitness club membership. I use to come here a year ago and then I moved away from this area. I tried canceling my membership however they said it can not be done until a year as you are in a contract. After a year when I contacted them, they said you can only do it in person and only when the manager is in the facility. Well the manager hours are 9-5 and I work 9-6 so they want me to take a day off just for this?? Their corporate office is the same way. I called the facility and they said the manager will be available 8-5 and when I reached they were like oh no, the manager only comes 9-5. This is the best way for them to steal money from people who can't come. I even tried emailing them however they said they can't find my account.

I would not recommend the kids Club. I’ve had to wait a few days to write this review bc I’ve been so angry. I came with my baby and husband to work out here a few days ago. I don’t easily trust people the 30 mins while I was I checked up on my 7 month old baby twice and the second time I checked her out and left. There was a young women who left my baby in her car seat with vomit all over her. She was not interacting with my baby at all. All my baby could see was a wall the young girl was fanning herself but left a blanket on my baby. I understand this is not a day care but she could of put my baby in the jumper. She could of called me and told me my baby threw up on herself. I told management and they did nothing not even a sorry. These people you leave your kids with are not licensed and do not interact with your kids.

Most LA Fitness gym's are clean and less congested than the other big names. What I like personally about LA Fit is the membership which includes two guest passes every time you come, so basically it's like having two memberships plus no contract. Also you don't have to worry about the gymn continually billing you as they process your cancellation because they take first and last month fee upfront, so billing stops immediately! Pretty much it's a win win situation! Only thing about this location is there's no upstairs smoothie station and racquet ball court.

Unfortunately, lately the club wet area is unclean. The staff should pay attention to individuals Spitting in the pool..others do not follow directions on taking a shower to wash off the sweat on their body then getting in the pool. So you will be in the pool

I love it because it doesn’t get as packed as other gyms in the Pasadena area & the staff keeps it very clean. However, I do have one complaint & I know the facility cannot directly control it but maybe try to reinforce by sending reminders. I see a lot of people at a machine & just talking & hanging out with friends. The gym is to come workout, not socialize. I get it’s okay to rest in between sets but I’ve literally seen people go as much as 15-20 minutes between each set & they’re just talking & being on their phones. That’s not fair for those of us who would like to use that specific machine. I have children and I pay a pretty penny to use the gym daycare, but if I can’t get my workout in the 2 hours I’m there ( which should be more than enough time) just because of people like this, then maybe they should reconsider closing the daycare until 9PM if that’s the case so that way they can cater to those of us that are working parents w/ children since we are paying customers as well. It’s the least that can be done, honestly. I would hate to think that this facility leans more towards catering to people who are childless or who’s children are already grown. 😅

Channels aren't working... I've asked to have them fixed but no one seems to want to take responsibility to get them fixed.
Equipment isn't properly maintained. I've complained of faulty maintenance for over 6 months and no one cares.

An absolute joke for service went in for a membership and got ignored. Then when someone finally did speak with me they said I’d need to wait for someone else. Long story short I waited so long I just left. It was a complete waste of my time.
