This is the 4th or 5th time I’ve come to this facility. I used to go to LA Fitness in Garland, but I recently moved to Plano.

In Garland, I had upgraded my account with the option to visit any LA Fitness location, or at least that’s what they told me. However, when I arrived here, they denied me entry, stating that my membership only applies to the Garland location. I explained the situation, and the receptionist told me I could pay a "guest fee," which was $5. I agreed to pay, but to my frustration, they don't accept Apple/Google Pay, only physical cards and I rarely carry cash.

I asked if there were other payment options like Zelle or Cashapp, but he said they only accept cash or card.

So, I had to go find an ATM to withdraw cash. After 15 minutes, I came back with a $20 bill. Then, they told me they didn’t have change.

The entire situation was ridiculous, and the way the receptionist was treating me made me suspect there was another reason he didn’t want to let me in. Eventually, he called over the person who handles payments, who tried to upsell me on upgrading my account. When I refused, he said they could give me a week-long pass for $20. (I pay $40 for a full moth, charging me the half when I have an active membership was totally inappropriate).

It felt like they were either trying to deny me entrance or take my money one way or another. They were even asking that how many times I was going to go to this gym.

I ended up giving the guy $20, and he returned $10 to me on Cashapp. So, Cashapp isn’t a valid payment method, but when it comes to refunding money, suddenly it’s an option.

This is definitely the last time I will attend this gym. If you're Hispanic, this gym is definitely not for you.

I want to complain about the use of the pool, I go to different locations and the class teacher always leaves at least one or two lines available, this time as you can see in the photo there were 4 students and the second line available I wanted to use the last one so as not to disturb the class and the teacher was super selfish and didn't let me swim, I'm super upset and what's the point of me paying for membership if I can't use it? It doesn't make sense

This is my favorite gym! It's always very clean and not super crowded. Omar is fantastic and very helpful! Chance has also been amazing! Overall, this is a great LA Fitness. The guy at the front desk. Mohammed is so nice. Had a really nice conversation with him. I also met some really good people. Overall a good gym that’s cleaner than a lot of the others. I only took one star because the locker room could’ve been a little cleaner and they use carpet in the locker room, which is fine but it has a weird smell. Overtime that might be a problem, but overall a pretty good LA Fitness.

Perfect location for me as I just moved into the area. It's never super packed, morning or evening. Access to a pool, spa, and jacuzzi after a good workout is always a plus. Not to mention an open gym for basketball and racketball. The staff is always friendly and helpful if and when you want to do any of their exercise classes. If you haven't checked them out yet, I recommend you do so.

Went in with a 3 day pass and they pulled up my account from 2009 and told me they couldn’t give me a pass because I wasn’t a new member. I live in Allen and could go to the LA Fitness beside me but I choose to make the drive to this location for the sauna, the location is bigger and ARMAND! From the moment I walk into the gym I am greeted by him with the biggest smile and the most amazing personality! It's one thing to be motivated by a trainer but to have the person behind the desk want to motivate you and make you feel good about yourself and your work out is another level. I highly recommend coming here. It's the best location with the best staff!!!!

Justin Vu was terrible at sign up. He charged my card twice after he asked me to write down and leave him my debt card number. I told him I was afraid he would scam me and feel as if it was planned. I went to the gym with a vip guest only to be told I could not have guests by Omar. I opened my app to ask him why I could add a guest in my app but could not actually bring one in. I found two random people listed as my vip guests who I never added. I asked Omar to cancel my gym membership only for him to lie and not cancel it. He told me to come back to speak with the OM for a refund. They charged me almost $400 to be treated poorly and be refused service! Do not waste your time here. There are plenty other gyms to go.

This location used to be amazing until they went under “new staff”. Last night I pulled up at the K ave location in Plano right at 9:25 and the doors were locked. I knocked and called for over 5 min! The two gentlemen working the la night shift were no where near the front desk or designated desks for the sales people. One was working out and claimed to be off the clock however he went back to his desk and closed the gym right after … the other gentleman was no where to be found. Friday closes at 10pm so the fact they locked the doors way before 9:30 was very unprofessional. I pay a good $50 to go here and for me to be able to go in and get a good 30 min work out … forget it!

Apparently this the LAF that time forgot. Old equipment, one of the few remaining locations that hasn’t been remodeled. Most annoying though, is the AM cycle instructor, LOUD and likes to screech at her three cycle participants at top volume. Requests to shut the doors, turn it down to a reasonable volume…all ignored. Now keep in mind, I can hear this woman over my beats earbuds at practically full volume.

I had a question regarding my membership and it was a critical matter due to moving from different city to Plano. So I called LA Fitness at this location because it’s close to where I am currently living and I spoke with the Operations manager Mr. Armand and this guy man he went above and beyond to help me out and make that matter as easy as possible and I can’t thank him enough. They decided to close at 4 PM on Labor Day. I guess they figured instead of working out Texans want to get more obese with the disgusting brisket. The employees here are too busy joking around talking exclusively to each other and ignoring the guests so the equipment is neglected, and the locker rooms are dirty. The place is big and the air-conditioning works well so that’s a plus. However I cancelled my membership and went to city of Allen gym for $10 a month! Made me come to the facility 3 times just to hear:

1. I don’t know how to do it. The guy is not here. Can you come at a different time.

2. We do cancellations only on the weekdays.

3. Came on a weekday evening. They were like you have in the business hours.
Though the manager and his colleagues were all idle and doing nothing.

They enroll me at 9 pm but refuse to cancel my membership at 6pm?? This is absolutely ridiculous and waste of time.

I had to pay another extra month because of that.

I have been to Crunch Fitness, Planet Fitness, Golds gym and Lifetime over the years and never had a problem with cancellations at these places except for LA fitness.

Save yourself from this facility, where scamming customers is the motto and serving.

I don’t recommend anyone to this rundown place. Old equipment, un-tidy, non-cooperative staff enough to make you go crazy!

Their Personal Training also is something with shady hidden contract clause’ and ultimately you’d end up paying much more!!

Leak for roof caused giant stains on carpet smells like a mix of Mildew & Mold can’t be healthy to breath that in.

The equipment is never maintained properly, the cardio equipment is from the 90s rust and half the buttons not working.

Only thing seems to be new is the bench in the dirty sauna.

This gym will have the same fait as the rest, their just waiting for lease agreement to end so they can shut this old gym down.

Unfair and ungrateful to employees. My friend wrote, "My wife is a degreed nurse who spent 22 years working as a nurse. During that time, she went to TWU and got another degree in Exercise Physiology. After she left the medical field, she completed an 800 hour certification program to be a yoga instructor.
She began teaching at LA Fitness in 2007 - 2 classes each week - and was appreciated by her students.
It should be noted that in those 15 years, she was never offered a raise. 3 weeks ago, she asked for a raise and was told "we don't give raises".
As a result, she gave her notice and is no longer teaching at LA Fitness."

I switched from planet fitness to ESPORTA recently. I'm active member in this location since January 2022. Equipment seems good but , honestly it really smells very bad in dumbbell's area and mens restroom. In my opinion planet fitness is way better than ESPORTA . Great gym!!! The staff is super super helpful and makes you feel comfortable and cared for. The gym is clean, organized and has an overall great environment. I’m new to working out and the people and staff are always there to me help out when I have no clue what I’m doing. I have grown and learned so much at this gym and i will be recommending it to all my friends!!!

I recently got a membership at this location and the sales manager, Lexi, helped me understand the membership packages and what would work best for me. She also gave me some great advice on how to reach my goals. The staff and members are all kind and friendly and I actually look forward to going to workout.

This LA fitness has the oldest equipment in the nation. Worse. Not sure how corporate is allowing allowed to run this location. And this is LA fitness not Esporta fitness. Very shady

They don't offer to me extras and they have too many things that are additional cost if you want to do everything. Not like kind of place but the people that work there were real cordial, informative, they just don't have as much to offer as planet fitness in my opinion. Very nice clean well kept facility.

Spectacular place to workout! Staff is friendly and encouraging. I had a great conversation with one of the trainers here, Jesse, who gave me great advice on exercises and eating habits and truly inspired me to begin my path towards my fitness goals.

I run my own fitness business and currently renting two gym location in Dallas area to train Adaptive needs community. I will never do this to a trusted and loyal client which "new Esporta fitness" has done.
I have been LA fitness member for more then a decade and now they have changed to Esporta fitness. When I asked the person name "Jesse Chrismon" about transferring my membership to Esporta he was not only rude but arrogant. He did not explained why I should pay $200 fees to transfer my LA membership to Esporta but straight up ask me to pay or just cancel the gym membership. He was not interested in retaining the old trusted client. I kept this gym membership to hang out with my friends. All I can say is they lost one loyal member of LA fitness. :(

Had this aggressive short ball of muscle come up to me and started threatening me over a machine he wasn’t even near. I tried to ignore him at first but he just kept being aggressive so I went up to the front and the manager didn’t do anything, except say he was having a bad day... this guy had serious issues and he shouldn’t be allowed to act aggressive in a public area. Management didn’t do anything, probably because they were scared of him.. can’t blame them too much he looked crazy and like he was going to start getting physical. Still a horrible experience
