My wife and I have been loyal members at this LA Fitness location since 2020, and today we had one of the best experiences we’ve ever had — all thanks to Solomon.

My parents are visiting from far away and don’t speak English, and we wanted them to train with us for a week using the VIP guest pass. Our first attempt to activate the pass (with a different staff member on a previous night) was honestly frustrating, but today Solomon completely turned things around.

He was incredibly kind, professional, and patient. He took his time to explain everything clearly, allowed me to translate for my parents, and made them feel comfortable and welcomed. He walked us through the VIP guest process in detail and even gave me kudos for bringing my parents to work out together — something that meant a lot to all of us.

My parents walked out happier than ever, smiling from ear to ear, and it genuinely made our day. We’re now looking forward to spending the upcoming week working out as a family.

Huge shout-out to Solomon — thank you for your exceptional service! LA Fitness needs more staff like him.

Extremely Poor Maintenance and Cleanliness

I’ve been a member of LA Fitness for some time, and I’m very disappointed with the lack of cleanliness and maintenance at this location. The hot tubs seem to break at least once a month, and it takes them a very long time to get anything fixed. Even worse, I’ve seen cockroaches around the hot tub and pool areas, which is completely unacceptable for a gym that charges this much.

I’ve reported these issues multiple times, but nothing seems to improve. The facility clearly needs better management and maintenance. Until they start taking cleanliness and repairs seriously, I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone.

Reason for one star is overpriced and rude staff. The machines are frequently out of order and not maintained. Another issue is how rude some of the staff is, especially the management. There is this one sales manager named Victor who is absolutely notorious for making customers feel like they aren't valued. Armed with the worst temperament the staff here will make you second guess if this is how you should spend you hard earned money. I asked Victor the hairless/spineless manager some queries about the breakdown of my membership price because I was promised a different price and my bill was showing a much higher number. When confronted with hard questions Victor the manager decided to throw a fit, walked away, denied to redirect to someone competent enough to understand the question and instead insisted that us leave the club. Victor was so angry that he told us he is done talking to me. Very surprising to find out that club members actively paying their monthly dues were being treated worse than trespassers in a convenience store. With Victor the manager this LA Fitness is definitely losing the battle. If LA fitness keeps hiring incompetent arrogant and immature managers such as Victor I am sure this location will go out of business in coming years. Also when asked to cancel membership Victor made it a point to tell us he is not going to cancel out membership today because it was not possible. Victor in his self induced fit also left my membership details displaying on the screen for everyone to see which I was also very challenged by. Careless managers and extremely unhelpful. I would suggest you take your money some place else and avoid this specific LA fitness all together and if you have any questions beware of Victor the manager be sure not to ask him any questions as lacks the patience and competence to provide answers.

Loved this gym but when they removed the basketball court for a paid personal trainer area I knew the location was after my money. I just visited another location in Texas that had the court and and 2 olympic lifting stations which this location lacks. I wish I could rate them higher because the staff is amazing but there are definitely more affordable, genuine, and better stocked gyms in the area. Please bring back our courts.

September 16, 2025 - Unplanned pool closure with no reopen date.

August 1, 2025 - I was told I had to stop swimming yesterday morning because they had to close the pool due to a chemical issue.

July 25, 2025 - I was told I had to stop swimming yesterday morning because they had to close the pool. It was closed again today.

April 29, 2025 - Pool is closed again for 3 days.

April 4, 2025 - Had my morning swim ended early as the pool technician had to perform a shock treatment. Pool will be closed for the next couple of days, I assume.

August 13, 2024 - Pool is closed today without any prior notice.

February 22, 2024 - Pool is closed today without any prior notice.

I have been working out at this gym for a year and there are constant issues. First it was no paper towels in the men's locker room. Then a water leak in the men's locker room which is taking months to address. Now it's the pool. The pool was closed, without prior notice, for nearly 2 weeks. Then, it was reopened for a couple of days, just to be closed again today (June 14, 2023). I go to this gym and this specific location because of the pool. I can't wait to move and find another gym with a pool.

Decided to try out the free three day pass by signing up online. Before arriving I called to ask if they provided locks in their locker rooms and towels. While on the call I was transferred to Victor who kept wanting to keep me on the phone by asking me questions about how I’ve heard of LA Fitness, and more sales-type questions. As someone who isn’t sure if I wanted a membership since I’d never walked foot into this facility I was immediately thrown off by how unhelpful the call was and by how much it felt like a money-grab. A little while later I walk in and Victor is there speaking to me in a condescending and antagonistic tone. He mentioned that I hung up on him which is true because I didn’t feel comfortable answering any more personal questions about myself. This whole interaction left a sour taste in my mouth. After around 20 min of walking around to explore the equipment, amenities, and try out the treadmill I left. The lack of locks in the locker room is concerning, the equipment was old and rusted, and the whole place looked old and sad. The customer service was horrible and I do not plan on returning to complete the rest of the free pass as it’s 100% not worth it. I’d recommend investing in a gym and wellness facility where they actually care about the individuals that walk in and their fitness goals. And also a place that maintains their facility.

Review for LA Fitness – Round Rock, TX

When I first joined the LA Fitness in Round Rock, my experience seemed promising. The facility was clean, the equipment was well-kept, and the staff initially appeared professional. I signed up for a membership with the intention of bringing my elderly mother, who cannot drive, so I would always be accompanying her. After discussing the situation with the manager, we agreed to put the membership under my name for convenience.

Unfortunately, just a week after signing up, my mother was placed on hospice care. Given the sudden and serious nature of her condition, I reached out to cancel the membership and request a full refund. What followed was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever encountered.

Despite explaining the situation and providing documentation showing my mother was on hospice, LA Fitness corporate and the local location only agreed to refund one of the three months charged. I made multiple calls, provided all required proof, and even visited the gym in person—only to be met with indifference and a complete lack of empathy. The same manager who originally signed me up suddenly became dismissive and unhelpful. It felt like, once he had secured his commission, he no longer cared about the customer or the situation.

I work in the service industry myself, and I know what good customer care looks like. This was the opposite. During an already heartbreaking and stressful time in my life, LA Fitness chose to make things harder rather than showing basic decency and understanding.

Because of this experience, I would never recommend this gym—or this company—to anyone. Compassion and respect matter, especially when someone is going through something as serious as a loved one entering hospice. LA Fitness failed in every possible way.

I visited LA Fitness of 620 today and was surprised by how nice the facilities were, as well as the extensive range of equipment. They offer a sauna, spa, lap pool, and a juice/smoothie bar. Additionally, they have various glute and calf machines that I enjoyed using.

I am a member there and while I do appreciate the cleanliness of the gym. The cleaning service came in the sauna six minutes early before the gym closed while I was in the sauna and proceeded to pour cleaning water on the floor. The cleaning provider then goes back out into the main gym and proceeds to perform more reps at a station. While I have no Problem with janitorial services being active members at the gym and even working out while on the clock, I do not appreciate the fact that my sauna time got cut short. I pay good money for this membership and I expect to have every minute up until the last. Please resolve this issue.

This place is filthy, the locker room is often worse than a gas station bathroom. I was out of the country temporarily to help a family member recently diagnosed with cancer and called to cancel my membership. The manager I spoke with was incredibly rude and said I should have came in person to cancel before leaving the country. Very aggressive with a creepy attitude. I wouldn’t feel safe here with this individual in charge. Their rules are designed to make it very difficult to cancel so that they increase their revenue. Been a member of LA Fitness for almost 20 years, exorcised and exercised in as many locations across the country over that time…this one’s been my preferred for awhile…though it’d be nice if corporate would invest in updating their crusty stair machines…my only gripe. The current staff is alright, but there’s a particular stand-out, Christopher, who seems to handle much of the regular maintenance of cleanliness and efficiency (least it seems that way when I’m there). I've been a patron of LA fitness for 20 years and they cancel my membership because of an arbitrary rule made by a manager there named TJ. He didn't like that I skipped rope and ran in the parking lot. Arbitrary. He canceled my 20-year membership to LA fitness

None of their stuff ever works. Their hot tub is never on, and they never notify members. It’s frustrating because their operations management is incredibly poor. This is a recurring issue. Visited this club for the first time. My membership is actually held at the location on Whitestone in Cedar Park, but for the last 3 months these people are unable or unwilling to get their hot tub working. Speaking with the manager was a complete waste of time. So I decided to call this location. The phone call was very pleasant and I was assured that their hot tub is actually being serviced once a week. However as soon as I got there with my service animal, I was detained and kind of embarrassed because I was set aside in front of everybody else as they were coming in. This lady at the front counter expressed an extreme prejudice about my service animal and told me she wasn't sure if he could come in or not. Well I'm certainly not leaving my service animal outside. I was incredibly offended has she had no regard for my animal's documentation. And again I was just sat there to wait. I'm really rethinking whether or not I want to continue going to this club. This employee should be trained, can I be trained quickly regarding handicapped people otherwise this is a lawsuit waiting to happen. I am documenting the situation publicly for the purpose of seeing what these people plan on doing to continue to accommodate the public. I paid just as much as everybody else, $37 a month for a basic membership. I have put in calls to the main office, and will be forwarding all of my notes to my attorney, and if anybody else is experiencing this I recommend they do the same. This is unacceptable 😡

I got my membership in Phoenix AZ due to the fact that I was able to use Esporta & LA Fitness everywhere they had them. I recently moved back to Texas & continue to use it even though I can’t alternate. Never had a problem with any gyms. But this location has been one of the worst gyms I’ve ever been to, as soon as you walk in it has a horrible smell like old mold & it always feels humid, idk if their air conditioning doesn’t work properly, you’ll feel a breeze here & there. But it doesn’t feel any better. And the workers aren’t any help, I told a worker about a man trying to take ownership of a machine he wasn’t using to begin with but still managed to be rude to me & tell me “he wasn’t gonna argue with me” & proceeded to take it from me & used it. & they didn’t bother having a talk to him or warn him. This place has weird mold odor all around the gym and air conditioning might not be working or might be set substantially higher than other LA fitness locations I have been to. This is a 3 star gym at best. If you are a "casual" gym goer this is the gym for you... The reason I gave a one star is because the cancelation process was a headache. I was told I had to come in and cancel in person at 0600 am when the manager was in. I showed up at 0600 am and was told the only person who could process the cancelation didn't arrive until 0900 am. After I was visibly annoyed I was told I could cancel online. I called 3 months prior to cancel, I paid 3 months because I was unable to make it to the gym between the times the manager was in due to my odd work schedule. After that treatment I really can't recommend this gym to anyone.

I got a membership back in September. I currently go to the Anderson Lane location in the morning, just because I feel that the Anderson location is an overall 4 star compared to Round Rock's. Here are some suggestions that I have for the Round Rock location, if anyone is interested or would like the feedback:

1. I would put a scale in the women's locker room. Not all women want to weigh themselves right next to the trainer's area. The Anderson location provides a scale in the locker room, and it's so much more inviting.

2. I would place another sanitizing station on the columns near the bench press area, since it's a more central location to find cleaner for the weight-lifting area.

3. Bring back the basketball court? I know at the Anderson location, this is a huge hub for community, even at 6:30 in the morning. The Round Rock location turned it into a training area, and I've never seen anyone in there since they took the court out. I feel like this sterilizes opportunity for community and more memberships.

4. Music volume, especially early in the morning. We all have our headphones in, because we prefer to listen to our own music anyway. I feel like I'm constantly turning my volume up to fight to hear my music, since the gym music is loud and bleeding through. Also, since I get ready for work and commute, I would suggest either no music or instrumental music in the locker room. I am literally forced to choke down Nickelback early in the morning without a choice. I feel like the music is not wholesome, and there are probably tons of members subscribing to various forms of religion that would rather go without listening to some of these awful messages. But in general, the music is just bad.

5. In general, I don't understand why you would add carpet to a gym. It seems like it accumulates odor, let alone people's perspiration. I know this one is a little harder to fix, but just something I wish LA Fitness would consider from more of a high level.

The manager forces you to take on special
training sessions and makes you feel like a loser. I gave in and signed up, but then the trainers kept leaving. I used to schedule training sessions and goto the gym to find the trainer not being there. Also, don’t expect the trainer is going to checkin with you and work with you towards your fitness goals in any way.

Pay attention to the non-sensical charges on your credit card and you’ll be surprised to see how it adds up. Once you sign up, the manager has zero interest in what you’ve to say.

During my recent visit to the gym 05/21/2024,
I experienced unacceptable behavior from the Membership Director. Victor Sanchez not only pressured me into purchasing a membership on the spot, but he also attempted to obtain my private information, including my driver's license ID number, without my consent.

Furthermore, I was dismayed to find that the line for purchasing a day pass was unreasonably long, despite this being a service available to the public and online for anyone interested in trying the fitness center.

This experience left me feeling uncomfortable and violated, and it is clear that Victor Sanchez’s actions do not align with the standards of professionalism and respect expected from LA Fitness staff.

I urge LA Fitness management to investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action to address these concerns. Additionally, I recommend providing further training to staff, particularly Victor Sanchez, to ensure that all members and guests are treated with the respect and privacy they deserve.

I joined the gym in February to prioritize my health, but when my card expired, the auto-payment failed. Suddenly, my account was canceled by a regional manager, Jessica, who claimed I requested it. This review is not for the facility but its instructors! I've been going to this location since 2 months now. Why can't they hire a decent instructor for Zumba on Fridays? Gianina and Angelica are extremely unprofessional. How do you hire someone who doesn't know what they're doing? They are offbeat(being a zumba instructor) and clearly just wing it each class! This is the second time I returned back home within 15 mins because it was truly unbearable to follow the instructor. Zero rhythm,and absolutely no clue how it's done. 2 other ladies left with me midway through the class. If ya'll are listening, please hand over Fridays to Zeta, Priscilla or Amanda! Out-of-service machines take a long time to get repaired. They also intentionally make it difficult for you to cancel your membership, which is a well-known fact at this point.

The manager is a sad little man who followed me and my guest around and demanded I change my guest profile picture and would not identify himself until after the fact and then canceled my membership. They better not charge my card again

Beware! This place is swarming with thieves and burglars. I have my car broken into 2 times in the parking lot. One time a burglar followed me into the locker room, took my car keys, and stole my wallet from the car. My credit cards were immediately used in La Frontera Lowe's and HomeDepot to make high value purchases.

There are no security cameras in the parking lot. Thieves know it and take advantage.

Terrible staff. They told me I can cancel online without reminding the catch that you will be really canceled after 30 days. Was charged one more month! Please train your staff as much as you are concerned about making money by personal training.

The basketball court is literally closed all the time for construction. Only reason I signed up for this gym and it’s been a deal breaker for me.

LA fitness is a solid gym with a good free weights section along with a machines section for weights. They also have a basketball court, a Zumba, yoga, body pump etc room and there is a cycle room with 36 Kaiser M3 bicycles for serious writing. Upstairs they have treadmills and recumbent and some easy bike type stuff. There is also a swimming pool and hot tub along with a sauna in each locker room and showers. It's a good all-around club and it's been around for about 10 years. Occasionally things stay broken longer than they should but other than that everything is pretty good about this place. So if it's in your area and you're looking at it. It's a good choice. Clicking the like button will not hurt my feelings! 😉

If you are looking for a gym, keep looking. They consistently open late and are unapologetic. Their managers are rude and have zero customer service training. The have now removed the basketball court (December 2024) and turned it into a fee-based area. Rather than using the money to upgrade the rest of the equipment that is often broken.

Every single piece of equipment is either filthy, broken, or both. Missing dual covers so you don't know how much weight is there (FYI it would take 5 min to fix with a sharpie and they can't even do that) machines so grimy the cables don't move, can even turn the knob on some, broken grips....broken everything. They really don't care about any of the equipment here.

Good gym for the price. It is always very busy with kids and people that are using multiple machines at once and do not have shoes on. Constantly out of wipes for the machines and they have recently removed all paper towels from the gym floor. Not enough classes to be able to plan out a time to go but for the price it’s not bad.

Worst LA Fitness ever located on RR 620. The staff is the worst of all. They don’t care about customers. The responses they have for cancelling personal training sessions after the contract period is ridiculous. They keep asking people to come back even I am no longer taking personal training lessons and keep charging me for the lessons.
On top of it, the gym is always under maintenance for one thing or the other. I have not seen a week straight of everything working in the gym. Sometimes it’s sauna, sometimes it is swimming pool, most of the times it’s hot water issues and it even had HVAC issue for long. I would advice staying away from this location. Go to signature gym located on Whitestone.

They are having trouble with aquatic instructors. Very often we have no instructor once we make the trip and get into the water. Also this should be listed on the on line schedule early. Many people arrange their work schedule around the listed schedule. The aquatic instructors who are regulars are just wonderful!

Very poor communication by management. Members are not informed about pool/sauna closures or maintenance via email or LA fitness app. It is 2023, at least update your app, send messages or emails to your members. Always end up visiting the gym to know that it is closed, waste of time and energy.

What a great gym! My son plays college football and needed to have a place to work out while on vacation. Phil gave us 7 day complimentary passes, a tour and let us get started immediately! The gym is very clean and offers a lot! Everyone was so helpful and friendly to us Hoosiers! Thank you!
