For the last 2+ years, I used this location as my primary location for pool access. Until recently, the Aqua Fit class here was awesome, challenging, and led by an incredibly qualified aqua instructor. In the almost 3 years I attended regularly, I saw the LA Fitness staff turnover several times, including management. During all of these staff changes, the Aqua Fit class was lucky to have a dedicated and qualified water safety instructor.
On average, the class was regularly attended by 6-8 people 2+ years ago and by this past summer (2025), we reached numbers of 14-16 people regularly. Due to poor management at all levels of LA Fitness, the Aqua Fit class is suffering now, and being led by unqualified (non-water) instructors. If you like Zumba, try water Zumba now, but I promise it's a joke in comparison.
Collectively, our Aqua Fit class sought answers from management, since we built a community of people. The instructor helped so many of us through surgeries, debilitating pain, and mobility issues. Management has not listened to our concerns, have not responded to our grievances, and still do not have a qualified aqua teacher for the course.
LA Fitness doesn't care about doing good business, I guess? If they did, they wouldn't jeopardize a successful class without doing their due diligence to the people they employ and the customers that kept coming back for the class. I recommend you take your business elsewhere, if they don't care about their employees, they definitely don't care about you either.

Overall, this gym meets the basic expectations — it’s usually clean, the equipment works, and the posted hours are consistent.
That said, I recently had an unpleasant experience with a staff member near closing time. A gentleman walking the gym before close approached me and said I needed to leave, not with a friendly “We’re closing soon, could you wrap up?” but a curt “You need to leave.”
The staff had announced nine minutes to close when there were actually about fifteen minutes left before the posted closing time, and then approached me roughly seven minutes later. When I pointed out that it was still before closing, the staff member replied, “We get paid corporate hours, not overtime,” making it clear this was about personal schedule.
I understand wanting to leave on time and don’t expect to stay past closing, but a more professional approach would have been appreciated.

The gym is your typical LA Fitness. What is not typical is their closing procedures. I've been a member with LA Fitness for close to a decade. I travel a lot, so I've been to various LA Fitness clubs around the country. This is the only LA Fitness that I have been to that literally closes their doors 20 - 30 minutes prior to closing. And you don't know how early because apparently it depends on whether a male or female is closing. When I asked why they are closing their doors prior to the posted closing time, their answer was, "we are trying to get out of here too." I've worked in retail, the restaurant industry, and other industries that post closing times on their doors. That time posted should be the time that you close your doors, especially if you have paying members. "We are trying to get out of here too," should not be the concern of your customers. I also will be reaching out to corporate to confirm whether or not this is an acceptable policy for closing.

I tried to go and redeem a vip pass that was given to me to work out. They told me they needed to see my ID and then proceed to tell me I’m not able to workout because I don’t have an in state id. Horrible business model to give that out and then restrict who can work out based on where they’re from. People working the front desk could not have been more rude about it either. Think twice before coming here

During a recent visit, a staff member at the front desk behaved extremely unprofessionally. She yelled at me simply for using the full weight on one of the workout machines. Her tone and attitude were completely unacceptable and made me feel disrespected and unwelcome. I previously sent an email about this incident, but no one has followed up or contacted me to hear my side of the story.
Additionally, on another visit, I encountered the same staff member again, and it appeared that she was under the influence while working. This raises serious concerns about the hiring and supervision standards at this location.
Due to these repeated negative experiences and the lack of response from management, I have made the decision to cancel my membership. I also cannot help but feel that my concerns were ignored possibly due to my name or ethnicity, which makes this situation even more troubling.
I expect better service, accountability, and respect—especially from a business that relies on community trust and support. I hope this issue is taken seriously and addressed appropriately so other members do not go through the same experience.

Called to clear up questions and concerns about my account, whoever was at the front desk answering phones is rude and unprofessional. She said “I can’t help you with that so you can call back whoever you talked to” so sassy. Then asked about joint memberships, “no umm you can’t be doing that” (I asked if my significant other and I could have joint accounts since he travels for work). As a potential returning customer I will not be going to this location.

I’m writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service at your location. I have been paying around $65 per month for a single membership, which is quite high, and I expected a much better level of customer service in return.
the attitude and professionalism of the front desk staff have been consistently disappointing. They are often unhelpful, unwelcoming, and seem uninterested in assisting members properly. This kind of behavior reflects poorly on your brand and makes the overall gym experience frustrating.

Had an apportionment today at the gym for a free trial. Lady at the front was rude and unprofessional; didn’t admit us in cause we didn’t receive email confirmation from LA Fitness; instead we received SMS confirmation of the appointment which was said and showed. “nope can’t let you in” ; this location has lost my business and will be filing a formal complaint with corporate.

I have never encountered such unprofessional staff. The Operations Manager of this branch does not know how to properly communicate with employees or members. He is extremely rude and, when he does not like the direction of the conversation — especially when asked to explain his reasoning — he simply hangs up.
I had my account frozen and, unaware of the exact date my next payment was due, I visited the gym with a friend the day before my flight. I had initially frozen my account for a month.
When I arrived, I asked the front desk staff if my account was still frozen or if I had a few days left. They asked me to scan my membership. I was unaware that scanning would automatically unfreeze my account — but it did. I immediately requested to have it frozen again, but I was informed that only the Operations Manager could process that.
It then took me two weeks to finally get in touch with him. I left several notes and messages requesting a call back, but he never responded. Eventually, I managed to speak with him on the phone and explained the situation: my frozen account had been unintentionally unfrozen, and I had not been properly informed about the consequences of scanning my membership.
Instead of addressing my concern and even apologizing for their stafff to not know that scanning would unfeeeze the account, he immediately refused to help and tried to divert the conversation by asking if I wanted to freeze my account for the upcoming month. This was extremely frustrating, as I was trying to resolve the issue for the past month and request a refund — because my account was accidentally unfrozen and my card was charged the full membership fee
His behavior clearly showed he did not understand (or chose not to understand) the issue I was raising. Overall, this experience was highly disappointing and unprofessional.

Be Careful with the personal trainer program. They will sell it to you and make it very uncomfortable and shady process. Once you sign up you will have to pay for the whole program or half if you wanna cancel. Even when I said I was only in town on the weekends they told me it would be no problem. Now I have paid 560 dollars for 2 months and have not even gotten one session. Please be careful. Do not feel bad saying NO to them.

It was a frustrating and disappointing experience. After recently moving to Austin, I was exploring nearby gyms and decided to try one out with a trial pass. However, the process was unclear from the start—there was no clear guidance on how to activate the pass. When I arrived at the gym, the front desk staff made things worse. The person there had no knowledge of the trial pass and, instead of trying to assist, simply refused to help. The lack of professionalism and customer service left a bad first impression, making the experience far from welcoming. Won’t get back again.

The overall location and convenince is a major plus. One of the main reasons i got a membership here is due to it having a pool. But the pool is constantly having a kids swim school in it during peak hours. Lunch and afternoons especially. It used to go from 3 lanes down to 1 usable lane. But now we are not able to use the pool when instructors are in session. 3:30-7:30 tuesdays and thursdays and more times on the weekend.
All emenities should be available to memebers baring busy hours and gym classes. This swim school is not part of the gym memebership. Very disappointed.

This is a nice pool for swimming-my favorite activity. Ladies dressing, shower and toilet areas are very clean. There’s a lot of room in the dressing area. I’ve made “ swimming friends” here, nice connections. When I’m finished HEB is next door so I can get groceries in the same place.

Terrible experience! This place is a disaster. Most of the staff are beyond rude and unhelpful—they act like they’re doing you a favor just by acknowledging your existence. The management pretends to be nice but is even worse—completely unprofessional, dismissive of complaints, and incapable of addressing basic issues.
The amenities are a joke. The pool is out of service more than it is available, and they never do anything about it despite repeated requests. You’d think they could at least notify gym members when it is closed, but that is apparently too much work. On the rare occasion the pool is in service, it is occupied by the British swim school joke that is another money grab (I’m sure management is compensated a rental fee) The locker rooms are filthy, the showers don’t work properly, and the whole place smells like mildew. To top it off, the gym is overcrowded, and they keep signing up more members without expanding capacity.
If you’re up for it, you can meet with a personal trainer for a fitness assessment that will start off helpful but quickly turn into a pushy sales pitch (another money grab).
It’s clear this place only cares about taking your money, not providing a decent experience. Save yourself the frustration and find a gym that actually values its members. Good luck.

This is the worst LA fitness location I have been to.
First - I'm confident my billing has never been right. I later added my wife to my plan, Somehow that cost $200 and it's still too much a month.
Second - one power rack? and most other foundational equipment is also scarce. 15 ways to do a machine bench press or pull down / row. Only two smith machines if you are curious.
Gym is pretty cramped, Often busy and the last few times I've left halfway through a routine because the next 3 pieces of equipment I needed were all taken - Sometimes by people doing extended super sets halfway across the gym...
This is a very casual fitness experience. Maybe treadmill moms will enjoy - But half the TVs on those are broken or have no audio. This is a $24.99/month gym experience on a GOOD day.
Speaking of which, I hope you're planning on working out during the day and never near a holiday. The hours are short and often modified without notice for holidays. I've pulled up at least half a dozen times expecting to be open, It was not.

The one room that was suppose to be some nutrition room (whatever the person said at the time)is still under construction. Not a box has been moved in that room. I know for a fact this place has made profit from all the new memberships but nothing has changed. I will not be renewing my membership :)

I was genuinely happy to switch from the Cedar Park location to Round Rock. The second location was very clean, and the pool was wonderfully warm. But everything has changed. British Swim Class now occupies almost every day at both locations. Members are only allocated one lane for swimming, which makes it impossible to swim because there are so many people. Parents sit on benches around the pool, making it feel like a marketplace—not very pleasant. The water has become terribly cold. I use my membership pass solely for the pool, but I think it’s time to cancel. Waiting for a lane to swim can take up to an hour…

I recently visited this location and was initially drawn to its super relaxed atmosphere. The front desk staff was incredibly cheerful and welcoming, which was a great first impression. However, I noticed a few concerns that made me hesitant about pursuing a membership.
The relaxed vibe seemed to extend a bit too far, as I saw staff sleeping on shift, which felt unprofessional. Additionally, the shower room had an unpleasant smell, which raised concerns about cleanliness and maintenance.
While the friendly front desk staff was a highlight, I probably won’t be coming back due to these issues.

The manager, Tessa, is very kind, respectful, and knowledgeable. I don't have guest privilege with my membership, and she patiently explained to me the policies between guest privilege, VIP guest pass, and A-Day-Pass. After understanding everything, it helped me decide to upgrade my membership with guest privilege that will save me money eventually and will be hassle-free to bring guests with me whenever I want to.

Rejected guest pass today by front desk member service "Tessa". She claimed they follow the policy but she can't provide me any written information! She kept saying that she doesn't own the website contents.... Well, I'm sure I'm not the first one complaining about the guest pass by checking out other 2 month ago reviews but apparently "member service" hasn't been escalating the issue and providing a better clarification. We are verbally communicated to pay $20 a day per person if guests outside of Texas want to use the gym. The most ridiculous thing is they are not allowed to sit on the lounge sofa waiting for me and my husband to finish the workout. My husband ended up driving them back home. We are definitely considering switching gym for paying decent fees but not receiving respect and quality service. Very disappointing!!

Awful customer service. I wanted to do the trial membership to try out the gym before my wife and I start a new gym. The front counter associate said that they don't do the 3 day trial anymore, even though the website says specifically that they do. He said I would have to pay $20 to purchase a day pass to try out the gym.
I called the manager and she was condescending and dismissive. The customer service here is terrible. Read the other reviews, I'm not the first one to complain about the staff.

The gym has good equipment and facilities, basically my rating is based on the fact that there are no rules and regulations regarding the use of the machines, many people use them too much just to look at their phone. Going in the afternoon is the worst idea, the bad smells abound and no products are used to minimize this problem. I recommend going only in the morning

I’ve been a member at this location for about 5 years now, and it has never been much to write home about. But today they have earned a review. I was treated very poorly by the front desk staff. Rude, disrespectful, and ultimately unhelpful. Being told that I can’t have a guest pass for my guest because they are all out, even when I have an app that says I can issue one, is crazy work. We joined our son for swimming and the teacher Amanda is amazing i highly recommend her. The services provided are not in harmony their business model is messed up. It is ridiculous that the cleaning staff is especially terrible and gave me tough time and made it a point to ruin my day everytime I visit. My husband took membership in the gym exclusively so my son can swim and use the restroom for a quick shower. The cleaning lady literally makes sure i do not enter the restroom with my son. We Will be cancelling our membership due to the ugly behavior of staff. They will lose 2 memberships just over their restroom policy and rude staff. Would not suggest to anyone extremely inconvenient and rude!something is really off with this branch.

Unprofessional Trainers and Unfair Cancellation Policy at LA Fitness at N AW Grimes
I'm disappointed with my recent experience at LA Fitness N AW Grimes. I signed up for personal training but unfortunately had issues with two different trainers over a two-month period. Both trainers were unaccountable. The first one had been in an accident and was training us during recovery. This led to the trainer cancelling 7 classes in the first month. The second trainer began helping us in the second month but that too ended up being a short-lived since he quit.
To make matters worse, the second trainer left LA Fitness without notifying his clients or even his manager! This left me feeling abandoned and frustrated.
When I requested to cancel my training package due to these issues, LA Fitness offered to pair me with a third trainer. However, I shouldn't be expected to keep trying new trainers after such a negative experience.
The cancellation process was difficult, and I believe LA Fitness should be more understanding towards clients who have had issues with their trainers.
In the interest of fairness, I would recommend LA Fitness to:
1. Ensure better communication and accountability from their trainers.
2. Implement a more flexible cancellation policy for clients with legitimate concerns.

I have been a member of LA Fitness for several years, and I want to share my experience with our relatively new manager Delein Gallo. She is dynamic, professional, and very personable. She takes an interest in every person that walks into the gym. She takes her time to listen to people and then she makes improvements to the gym. I mentioned to her that now that the private training room is closed off, that I didn’t have a place to do my training on my own, so she set up an area that any member can use with weights, balls, foam rollers, steps, etc. so now we have our own training area outside of the private room that’s been closed. She absolutely listened to what I was saying and she made sure that it happened. I always see her going around and checking on everything to make sure that everything is running properly, making sure the members are happy, and that the machines are all working . She is very professional, friendly, and very capable. This is the first manager that I can say these things about. She is a very positive addition to the gym. I also want to mention one more deserving person. Justin is there every day working very hard with a smile on his face to make sure that the gym is kept clean and organized at all times. Anytime I or anyone asks for anything to be done, he does it immediately. The gym is extremely clean, there are always wipes In the dispensers, and he’s always walking around and checking and making sure that everything is working properly. He’s also someone who brings a very nice atmosphere to the gym with his professionalism and friendliness.

Closes early (just lock the doors) 30 minutes before close. Very crowded at peak times so hard to get to certain things. Some machines barely work and never get fixed, bathrooms often out of TP/Paper towels by evening at least on the men’s room side.

Jeremy is an AMAZING personal trainer!!! He’s so motivating and fun to workout with. He will push you and help you lose weight or gain muscle! It feels like I’m going to workout with my friend when I go to my personal training sessions. Definitely sign up and go see him!!!

I am a new member and have been twice since joining. The gym and locker rooms are cleaned and well maintained, which is a great change from the last gym in the last few months I was a member of. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I really appreciate that they listen and have advice on injury accommodation but still being effective workout plans. I also like that there seems to be a focus of inclusion and non-judgment of everyone, regardless of where people are on their health and wellness journey.

Sketchy gyms, especially the pools, which are consistently under or over chlorinated. Won’t give any info as far as chlorine levels or ph levels—they’ll just say they check them daily. Filthy showers.

If you go here do not sign up for a personal trainer without quadruple checking your contract. I signed up for a 6 month contract only to learn months later I was signed up for a 12 month contract. I was told by the staff that I signed up with that I would need to get in touch with them and cancel my renewal if I no longer wanted to be charged at the end of my 6 months. It's very unfortunate because the personal trainers I trained with the past 5 months have been great but I cannot support scummy buisness practices like LA fitness with lying about what kind of deal I am getting.

If you like dirty, holes in the equipment, more than half the TV's on the cardio machines do not work. Employees sit around all day, they do not clean the equipment, bathrooms are filthy.
Multiple emails sent to management and corporate, nothing has been done. Holes in all the preacher curls machines, just filthy and lack of customer service.

Best place to workout in Round Rock that I have found. Friendly and helpful front counter made my return to working out so much easier. Plenty of weight machines include my favorites to use. Rows of bicycles (includes horizontal bikes), elliptical, etc. appealing and clean locker rooms.

Great Gym, but Aggressive Sales Approach Needs Improvement:
I've been a member of LA Fitness for some time now, and I must say that the facilities and equipment provided are top-notch. The gym itself offers a wide range of options for a great workout, and the cleanliness and maintenance are commendable.
However, I feel compelled to bring attention to a concerning aspect that has been impacting my overall experience. The aggressive sales approach at the entry point is becoming quite off-putting. Lately, it seems that every time I step in, I'm bombarded with pushy salespeople who don't give much breathing room. This approach can be rather uncomfortable, and at times, it has led me to make purchases or donations that I later regret.
I understand that businesses need to promote their services, but it's essential to strike a balance between encouraging interactions and respecting the members' space. I genuinely hope the management takes note of this review and considers taking steps to address this issue. It would greatly enhance the overall gym experience for all members.
Despite this concern, I do appreciate the efforts put into maintaining a well-equipped and clean facility. I hope that in the future, the sales approach can be refined to ensure a more positive and hassle-free atmosphere upon entry.

Worst service ever. Once you enrole you can’t cancel your membership. For cancelation they made us to visit three locations and they told us manager is not available. Finally on one day we were able to cancel the membership but after checking later they charged us the amount for 1 year even after cancellation. They were able to see the notes of cancelation and all when we went to the office, even after reaching multiple times they din't returned the money.

The only good thing about this gym is Vanessa. She is so helpful, kind, and genuine. She is the only reason I’m giving this establishment 3 stars but in reality she deserves 5 stars.
The personal training was not impressive at all and a complete joke. It wasn’t tailored to me at all. I informed the trainer of the ailment that I have and what I’d like to work on and he completely disregarded it. To me he was always distracted and seemed like he didn’t want to be there. He was always concerned with something else. It was very uncomfortable. The meal plan he gave me was a generic shopping list he printed off of google. He gave me no guidance at all. Not impressed. Take your business elsewhere.

Big size swimming pool, A+. Temperature in the gym is perfect for workout. They need to add Olympic power lifting floor, bumper weights, and barbells since there is plenty of space not utilized on the floor. Replace or fix those rowing machines they are too hard to pull on. I have never use hard pulling rowing machines at the other gyms. Some of the machines need to be greased, regular maintenance is required. Overall score for the gym is A.

I really like LA Fitness as a gym franchise and all. I'm a little disappointed in the amenities offered at this location. There is no child care or sauna. The basketball court was finally repaired after months of closure. They have a lap pool, cycling, and studio space. That's basically it, I had high hopes for LA I guess!
