First the positive. Clean. Nice,warm pool Please keep the dues high to attract quality

clients. Now the negative. Just not crazy about three things. Guys who think they have to have conversations on their phones in the sauna. It's rude and disrespectful . Stay off speaker phone. We dont want to hear your drama. Thats not a problem anymore, since the sauna has been closed since june 2023. As of March 2025, STILL CLOSED! Secondly, people who feel a need to bring a " service,comfort", pet dog into the gym while working out. Pretty soon we'll allow them in the pool and jacuzzi too. Wait till someone gets bit.
The pool is often full and people in swim classes each morning. Almost impossible to get a lane. I waited 40 min. Just to swim. How about a 30 min. time limit and if nobody is waiting , then keep swimming/ Maybe a sign up sheet for 30 min. blocks at a time? 24 hour fitness does it and it works fine. Update: sauna closed again . It's Been closed for almost 2 years. If you swim BTW. 6am-11 am , you'll be fighting for a swim lane with a woman who swims for 3 hours and 30 people in a water fit class Monday- friday. I rarely go anymore. I found a gym where they don't swim 2-3 hours at a time .
Went in jacuzzi today.skin itching like crazy.chlorine spots all over my shirt in bag. I think someone tossed in a few gallons of extra chlorine. Way too much chlorine in the pool and jacuzzi. Itching for weeks. UPDATE MARCH 2025 NOW HOT TUBE CLOSED TOO. PROBABLY GOOD, AS I got folicculitus from the hot tub, according to the dermotologist. UPDATE: NOW THE POOL HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR A WEEK . JUNE 4 2025. Sauna is finally open after 2 years!

Very happy with this gym. They have nice variety of classes (love their Zumba instructor!) and friendly front desk. My kids love going to the kids club there. Katy makes sure they are safe and happy so I can work out with piece of mind and really unwind.

Good gym with lots of equipment… the sauna has never worked for the past 15 months at least, the jacuzzi is almost always closed, and sometimes it takes a long time to repair equipment. The management team doesn’t care if you bring up issues, but in general it’s a solid gym for working out.

This is a nice gym, the equipments are in good condition, not super busy, yet customer service is not apparent. The check-in representative did not greet my guest or me nor did any other staff. Both times, the check-in representative didn't greet me or invite me back on my way out. Besides, the lack of customer service it's nicer than many of the LA Fitnesses I've worked out at back home.

This place is great, has decent equipment, both in terms of quality and diversity. The reason I am giving it 1 star is because the employees straight up lied to me about my membership duration. This is one of the best LA fitnesses in Harris county. The gym has all new equipment. The pool is super nice. The men’s locker showers has shampoo, body wash and conditioner. I would recommend this gym to anybody looking for a nice gym to work out at.

The manager at this location is absolutely amazing! After visiting other gyms and feeling uncomfortable with their pushy tactics I could tell Oskar was genuine in helping me reach my health goals. I also love that they have towel service and there is a kids club here! Machines are well maintained and the locker rooms have an upscale atmosphere.
Make sure you ask for the handsome man with the beard! 😜

During my pregnancy, I needed to cancel my membership due to complications.
When I went in to cancel, they made me meet with one of their salespeople to "be sure." The sales guy was rude and said, "Moms who work out during their pregnancy have smarter babies. Do you want your baby to come out dumb?"

After finally being able to cancel my membership with the VERY dismissive manager, I sat in my car and cried because the experience had been infuriating.
Spend your money at a local gym with people who care about more than the bottom line.

First of all I don’t ever leave reviews, because whatever, but the service here was so awful that I had no choice. This is my first time here and I couldn’t find a handle to do cable flies. I ask one of the managers at their desk if she knew where one was, she blew me off immediately and told me to go to the front desk and ask them as if I was too much an inconvenience to help. I ask the young man at the front desk and I get a scoff with a sarcastic smile with him saying I used them yesterday speaking to me like I’m an idiot for asking. The equipment here is cool and diversified, but the service and treatment of gym goers is trash, do better!

This gym is disgusting. Everything is dirty! The mats you stretch on behind the cardio equipment are full of sweat, hair, dirt and grimy. The sauna has been out for YEARS! The staff has been rude a number of time. Such a disappointment as it used to be a very nice gym.

Sauna has been out for atleast 6months. I got my membership in September of 2024, the sauna was not working when I signed up but was told they were almost done with repairs. In december I asked when it would be fixed and was told that they had great news that it was going to be done in January. Now in June in 2025 they have told me that “repairs will start in July”. And the other location local to me is falling apart from the inside they have buckets all over the locker room to collect the leaky water when it rains and weights constantly being lost or not returned. Not worth the price of membership in my opinion

After traveling to other gyms and LAs for years and then working out here consistently for the past 8 months, I have to commend this location. The facility itself is immaculate, the classes top notch, and the staff superb. From Manager Jake to Personal Trainers Byron and Myiah to Cycle Instructor Beth, it’s been 8 months of 5 star interactions - every single time. I highly recommend this location, and only left because I moved away. They have a solid variety of machines and classes. I’ll greatly miss those Tuesday Thursday Saturday mornings with Beth - the class is a true community and she’s an absolute rockstar!

Myiah is my personal trainer and has helped me overcome so many things in my personal life and athletic life since joining in oct. 2024. She is the epitome of training, she’ll push you to your limits then help you to set new ones. I tell EVERYONE about her and how she deserves so many good things and i hope she receives them. Byron is the one you want in your corner at all times, he’s constantly encouraging people and hyping them up to do more, successfully. Great variety for both weight and cardio machines that is hard find at a lot of other local gyms. It can be pretty busy from the 5-7pm time but even then you don’t often have too wait long for machines. Very friendly staff. I have had gym memberships at various big name gyms over the years and this LA Fitness is my favorite! The gym is very clean and well maintained with every kind of work out equipment you could possibly need… and lots of it! I rarely have to wait to get on a machine, and I never get bored! I just have to say, my experience at LA Fitness Signature has been absolutely phenomenal, and I owe a huge part of that to Jake. From the moment I stepped in, Jake made me feel like more than just another gym member – he made sure I had everything I needed and was there for any questions I had. The staff made it a lot easier for me to push my lifting goals so that I could be ready to leave for the Marines on 3/24/2025.

This is a great place to work out, get fit or stay fit! Super friendly staff, clean club, every kind of machine, bike and class you could ever dream of. From those brand new at working out to the body builders, we are all up there together. It has a nice pool and hot tub too. The general manager Jake is totally awesome and very approachable. I swear there is nothing about the place he doesn't know! As an anniversary gift I was able to get with a personal trainer twice a week (Byron) and that has been a truly outstanding experience too. I went in the facility gripping my walker, scared to fall at any moment and so unstable -- now I'm not using a walker at all! Everyone is different of course and Byron made a fitness plan that worked for my exact needs and goals. He adjusts it as we go along. Plus he makes sure I do the exercises and machines correctly and that I'm challenging myself, but not overwhelmed by what I'm doing. I have learned so much!

Here’s the situation: I’ve been going to various LA Fitness locations, including Signature Clubs, for years with my membership. My card has always worked, no issues. Today, I show up to this location, scan my barcode like usual, and Kim—who’s apparently guarding the gate like it’s Fort Knox—stops me cold. She says, “Sorry, you can’t come in. Your membership doesn’t cover Signature Clubs.” Excuse me? I’ve been working out at Signature Clubs for years without a single problem, and now, out of nowhere, Kim decides I’m not good enough for this one?

I calmly explained that I’ve been a member since 2018, that I’ve never had an issue accessing any LA Fitness location—including other Signature Clubs—and that there must be some mistake. Kim didn’t even pretend to care. She just shrugged, gave me this smug little “rules are rules” look, and said, “You’ll need to upgrade your membership or leave.” No attempt to check my account, no call to a manager, no effort to resolve the situation. Just pure, unadulterated gatekeeping.

I asked her to at least look into it—maybe scan my card again, check the system, or talk to someone who knows what’s going on. Nope. Kim doubled down, acting like I was some freeloader trying to sneak in instead of a paying member who’s dropped hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars on this gym chain over the years. I even offered to show her my membership details on my phone, but she waved me off like I was wasting *her* time. The audacity!

What’s worse? There was no one else around—no manager, no other staff—to appeal to. Kim was the sole dictator of my fate, and she clearly relished it. I’ve never felt so disrespected as a customer. After 7 years of loyalty—showing up consistently, paying my dues on time, even recommending LA Fitness to friends—this is the treatment I get? From Kim, of all people, who couldn’t care less about basic customer service?

The “Signature Club” branding is supposed to mean premium service, right? Well, Kim single-handedly turned it into a signature nightmare. I don’t know if she’s new, power-tripping, or just hates her job, but she’s a walking reason to avoid this location. I ended up leaving, humiliated and furious, without my workout. Seven years of membership, and I’m treated like a trespasser because Kim couldn’t be bothered to do her job properly.

Alright so today 2-15-25, update: roaches in the locker room, towels are $10 a month, one of the water fountains is broken as are both of the vending machines. Highschool kids aren't as obnoxious though anymore so I'm deleting that. They are doing better at maintaining the cardio equipment. It's still my sanctuary for it's price but definitely doesn't feel like something you'd call a "signature" club. I mean the regular ones have beautiful vaulted ceilings and actually feel more premium in their architecture and planning. The inside is nice but.... I'm leaving my stars at 3 because they fixed a few things but still I wish the front desk stayed more than 3 months before quitting and I'm irritated about the towels costing now. I mean what makes it a signature club now? 🤦

Jake is like a breeze of fresh air when you come to this gym you always want to say hi to him when you come into the gym he is great and Sergio the new personal trainer is very sharp and know his a lot about macros, nutrition and fitness. Overall great people work here. Oh and Beth the bike instructor she is amazing. Jake hooked me up with an LA fitness hat too that was pretty awesome too. Just wish they would fix the Sauna that would be really great.

Stretching mats are dirty, sauna doesn’t works still because of some lawsuit. Just change it out for the coal one so people can use the sauna instead of making the same excuse for over a year. Super crowded at 5-7pm completely dead at other times. Will probably cancel soon. Have a 4 stars because the staff is super friendly and they have a lot of equipment for different types of workouts

The gym was spacious with many different machines as well as spaces for different type of workout—great people/vibe there as well. I went there for the first time today, and was immediately greeted with friendly faces at the counter. I've been going to the pool at LA Fitness on Kuykendahl for a long while now. I've been happy for the most part with the club & staff but this week Jake the manager (and my personal hero !) went above & beyond to help me out with an annoying billing issue so that I don't have to experience any disruption in my swim workouts !!!

This gym has everything you need & multiple sets of it! This gym is very clean and has a super open floor plan; the machines aren’t on top of each other. Lots of smith machines and benches so you’re not waiting around to get 3 broccoli heads off a machine. Even when it gets pretty busy, you can find something to jump on! The manager Jake is super welcoming… tell him to wear his cowboy hat ;) & Chase is pretty cool too haha honestly though the people are super friendly, just has a really good vibe & clean locker rooms!

I started coming to the LA Fitness earlier this year because the area public pools were closing. All I was looking for was an indoor pool, but I got so much more with this gym! The staff is incredibly friendly and they always go out of their way to help with any questions or issues that I have. The locker rooms are phenomenal. I joined LA fitness about a month ago after not working out for years. I will say that the staff and facility is absolutely amazing with a good variety of equipment. Not only that but the staff is attentive and very friendly. The facility is super clean and an amazing place to start your fitness journey! Our family was looking for a place with a pool for lap swimming that didn’t close during stormy weather and this is it. Locker rooms, showers and pool always in tip top shape. Staff and management are great, always greet us whether we are coming or going and always with a smile!

I love this gym! It is always clean, the atmosphere is always welcoming and motivating making it easy to stay consistent. No wait time for machines, cardio equipment or free weights. So you get an interrupted workout.

I’ve been coming to this LA fitness for 8 months now and I’m still impressed with how well kept it is. The facility itself is always neat, stocked up, and organized. The staff here are very welcoming and informative. Chase has been great at sharing his tips on how to better my form on certain exercises, and it’s been super helpful. Jake also always has a friendly yet professional attitude. The whole staff create an enjoyable environment to work out in.

I want to start off by speaking about the staff at this current location.
The front desk staff is super friendly. The personal trainers are friendly and knowledgeable and willing to stop and give advice when approached. We have been LA Fitness members before & came back because we needed extra services (hot tub, sauna, yoga, pool classes) and YES we use the other equipment in the gym.

Jake is FABULOUS! One of the friendliest employees they have. Gave us a Your of their location because NOT all La Fitness gyms are alike. We knew we’re going to sign up no matter what but he still took the time to show us around And make sure we knew we’re everything was at. Each time we go to the gym & we see him, he always makes it an appoint to stop & say hi and make sure we are still enjoying the gym. When we have questions, he is totally approachable and willing to get the answers we are looking for if he doesn’t have them.

The gym is super clean! They keep all the wipes at the sanitation station full and fully stocked. There is several around the gym so they are easy to find to clean the equipment before and after your workout. The equipment range is from what is available is one of the best i have Seen!

It will not hurt to go in & give them a try!

I love it here. The gym itself and locker room is always well kept and clean. I love that there’s plenty of cardio machines, so there’s never any awkward waiting to get on. The layout makes targeted workouts really easy too. Huge shoutout to Jake, for going above and beyond to get me and hubby signed up and made sure we were happy with our memberships. Chase is also awesome, he helped me a lot with figuring out where I’m at and gave me some great direction to help me get back to where I wanna be after almost a decade off from being in a gym. 10/10 I definitely recommend it here!

I used to love this gym but really started hating going. The machines are always broken and it gets difficult to workout trying to find a machine that's working. The sauna was broken for awhile and front desk workers are normally rude and won't acknowledge you at all even while scanning in. I recently had to cancel my membership due to serious health issues and when I called to ask for the options besides coming in the lady was very rude and wouldn't answer any of my questions.

Chase is wonderful training manager & Terry is a great personal trainer. Communication about pool being closed could be better - like check it at 5 am when you open every morning & send emails! Such an easy fix!
Cleaning needs to improve in showers! Again easy fix - less chatting at front desk & more cleaning the locker rms/showers - serious issue. Wipes for machines need to always be full! Easy to get complacent but details matter.

I love that I can tag along with my husband, because his membership allows it. Machines are always clean, and gym floor is always well-kept. Honestly this place sucks. No kettle bells no resistance bands. They have multiple cable machines but limited handles. I mean they have classes a pool and a spa. The sauna had been broke for like six months. I guess it just depends what you want. If you are a novice who doesn't target muscles and likes classes this is for you. If you want a complete total workout for gains. I would look somewhere else. Planet fitness is just down the road has way more options and costs a fraction. I shouldn't have to bring my own stuff especially since it's basic stuff. Also no foam rollers, no yoga mats etc etc. Personal trainers is over 200/mo with a 6 month commitment. At other gyms I can hire one as needed for just a review of workouts.

Also when you sign up they will give you a free body analysis and a free 1 time training session. They equipment they use is only for personal training so it's pointless. They will then try and sell you on the personal trainer package. I didn't feel like I had the option not to do this dog and pony show. Every other gym I've walked in and it's no pressure hey if you want it we got it of not have fun.
If it wasn't for my job paying for this place and my son who loved it (I signed up in his honor) I would not be here.

I feel like I need a supplement gym just to do everything I want.

The old bait-and-switch at this gym. The gym has undergone staff change & the female savage at the front desk is HORRIBLE! Still NO SAUNA - well over a year. Ask ETA of working sauna, told its an 'amenity' & to visit another location. Signed premium plan, told it came with towels, they're now imposing up charge for service. Minimum classes. They don’t allow you to move weights freely or use the empty aerobics room. This must be the newest signature club (with towel service). I haven't been coming here as often as i would have liked when i worked in the area because their sauna was down the Entire period of over 3 months and I don't think there was any plan to grt it fixed. Otherwise a nice facility and very spacious. Newer equipment and several different types of machines to engage same muscle groups differently. Plenty of treadmills and cardio equipment. And since this is not Medical center or galleria, it doesn't get as crowded.
