I wish that I could give a 0. I had been a member of LA fitness for a while. I decided to cancel it since I was not using their services. I told him to cancel my membership and they said that everything was done. I was still getting charged some amount. Called again and they said that my account was frozen and I need to come in person. I went in person and the receptionist looked at the account and said I was good. Before I leave, The receptionist came running behind me and said I owe Ballance and they could not close the account. I said OK I will go ahead and pay the remaining balance. Then she said that I have to pay for unfreeze the account. At that point, I got very upset and I said I wanna talk to the manager because I just wanna close the account for past six months and want to leave this place. The manager never came and the receptionist was able to figure it out to print my cancellation and I paid the remaining amount after 30 minutes waiting. I hate their service and relationship to the customer. They made me feel as if it’s my fault.

Update: I went back to LA after taking an 6 month break. This gym has gotten way too busy! All cardio equipment is old and needs to be replaced, machines are breaking down & need to be replaced. This is not my main gym and rejoined for sauna only. Very disappointing that they charge $64 annual fee however that money is not being put back into gym.

Update: Hey Fitness Intetmational; take some of the milllions you are making from annual fees to replace the treadmills! They do not run smoothly and shake a lot when you do sprints. I almost wiped out a few times sprinting. Someone will eventually hurt themselves. 5 treadmills down today; unacceptable.

Update: cancelled membership - will not return. The gym needs a revamp. Clean gym, however, lots of cardio equipment not working and the treadmills need to be replaced. LA fitness implemented an annual fee of 50-60 dollars a few years ago, BUT I have seen zero improvements to the gym and the sauna has been down for over a year now. The showers need to be fixed as well… zero water pressure.

Working out at LA Fitness is exceptional. Staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and willing to answer any questions asked.
The pool is well maintained, and ready for swimming. The machines are used often & it’s normal for some to be temporarily out of order & in need of repair, this ensures the safety of gym members, guests, & staff. Locker rooms are clean, considering the traffic going in & out on daily basis. Overall, LA Fitness is an awesome gym.

So far the people have been really nice. My only complaint is the amount of chlorine, or something, in the pool. I will have to take a long break from the pool because my skin feels like sand paper. I plan on talking to someone soon to see if anything can be done.

Wayyyy to many members for the space. Its small! Lacks legal machines. Can't have a good leg workout. People sit on machines scrolling social media. Go home! Its clean. Opening hours on weekend are awful. 8am?! Come on!

The infrared sauna is finally back in commission a 5-year hiatus!

This gym is pretty on point for a typical LA Fitness. It lacks the vibe and expected amenities for it to truly be considered a “signature club.” The cleanliness is pretty on point for a typical LA Fitness. More importantly, the equipment is reliable. There might be two ellipticals "scheduled for service," but you have at least 5 open stations to choose from.

Been here since the beginning. Here the deal with this place. Several issues I have here. Ill start off with the positive… its has a/c and its clean. The cleaning crew they have with Jose and the lady thats with him are extraordinary!! They are the hardest workers in the building!!! They keep the place super clean!!! Thats about it for the positive.

The negative… they keep signing and signing more people. The infrastructure isn’t big enough to handle it. Seriously! At some point, you have to stop signing new customers. We are at capacity!!! Also, several occasions there are old men walking around the mens bathroom totally naked. Its weird though… as if they are going out of their way to exhibition their big white bush and teeny weeny for everyone to see. This has happened on multiple occasions. Ive told the girls at the front desk. They dont care, just blank stares. Thats another thing… several of the girls at the front desk… I wonder how did they even get hired?

I’ve been going here for quite a bit, mainly because it’s close to our house so it’s convenient. Overall, pretty good gym with decent equipment. If I could offer one word of caution though, I’d say be weary of the sales guy, Paul. The way he “assists” guests is with an approach to up charge customers and simply get the number of enrollments up. We were given several different price options, depending on who was asking. Luckily, our 19 year old son got the best deal out of all of us and is paying $20 less than us. Left feeling like we worked with a “sleezy sales guy.”

Recently I was in the market for a gym. I took a tour here at LA Fitness to see if it was the right fit for me and my family. After the tour I was sat down asked to do some test to check my fitness level which I’m not impressed with or interested in i don’t need a gym to tell me I’m fat or out of shape..honestly no one needs that. The sales rep then proceeded to give me the monthly cost and after cutting out a lot of fluff for we down to a price I might have have been interested in paying. However in the end I felt they are just interested in getting my money instead of me as a person. I mean they have 6+ desks just for sales reps…also the Childcare area is actually really small. So if your looking for a more personal gym this probably isn’t the gym for you.

You pay for services you can’t use the Sauna was down for 2 years. They charge you for towels . The hot tub is down no eta on when it’s getting fixed the one on 45 is broken also. Why not upgrade your equipment we pay to enjoy things we can’t use. The staff is nice it’s not their fault but someone needs to take ownership of the equipment that isn’t working.

This franchise has really falling off! It appears nothing works in these gyms and there doesn’t seem to be a timeline to get things repaired! Whether it’s the pool, hot tub, sauna or equipment! It’s very disappointing to see a once promising club degrade like it has over the last 10 years! Place is always too packed. Used to be really nice in the beginning. Now most machines stay broken. I have been trying to cancel for a week now and have not been able to. The reps keep telling me they can’t cancel…. That’s not good they are just gonna keep taking my money and I’m not going there.

Machines tend to be out of service way too often. There are only 6 stair masters and 3 of them are out of order on a regular basis. Sauna has been closed for the last year at least. Everytime we ask about the timing of it getting fixed, the employees say “soon”. Speaking of employees, half of them are teenage kids that seem to care more about chatting at the reception than actually working, doesn’t seem like this location has a manager. I’ve seen an elderly man aimlessly walking around the gym not knowing how to work any of the machines. The least an employee could do is help him out so he doesn’t get hurt. They were all just chatting it up at the front. I’m an existing customer ONLY because of the convenient location. I would highly discourage new customers from signing up for a membership.

Most Stairmasters are broken it’s been like that for the longest for 45 a month and everything is always broken is very annoying! Then you have to wait forever for a machine there’s a sign that says 20 min if there’s ppl waiting they keep going I really need to find another gym.

It now feels like an unsafe environment. They took the cameras down and haven’t replaced them. What if something happens? It seems like they don’t care about their members at all and they have staff members who steal from customers. In my case an employee stole over $1000 of bracelets. When I spoke to them about this David lied and said the cameras were broken then Faith said the camera angle doesn’t show where the bracelets were. I finally filed a police report and the officer got the video and it was clear as day he caught the employee who stole it. With that being said did LA fitness do anything about this? NO they did not. But my question is why lie what are they trying to hide. I was told Ed would be giving me a call which is their higher up and did he ever call me no and this has been going on since January. Today my husband saw Ed and questioned him about why he hasnt called us regarding this issue and still we never got any answers but my husband got his memebership taken away. What are these people hiding? what kind of signature gym is this? They don’t like to be questioned and they immediately go into defense mode instead of trying to solve the problem. They also have so many employees quitting or leaving and they all have horrible things to say about that gym. It is crazy. Not one employee there cares about their members all they care about is making money. They also lie to new members to get them to sign up by saying the sauna will be up and running soon which it’s never going to be up and running. If your thinking about going to this gym don’t. It is a horrible place

I come here 6 days a week. I love this gym. I do construction so I’ve been to some around the city and this one is the best. Always clean. I have noticed that some new faces don’t put the equipment back. I know management changes a lot but I hope they don’t let this be a trend.

Be very careful when signing up for this gym. I paid for two personal trainer classes and since I didn't like them at all, I decided to cancel. But the worst part isn't that, they charged me $960 for two 25-minute classes. I feel scammed because they didn't meet my expectations. I signed a contract, but because of my Spanish, I didn't fully understand them. I sent them an email and didn't receive a response. BE VERY CAREFUL. They only give you 3 days to cancel when you haven't even done a single workout to say you didn't like it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION. The personal trainer was a scam for me. Thanks for nothing.

The only reason I’m leaving a two star and not a one is cause of how easy it was to get there, the 3 day guest pass, and how semi clean it was. Besides that, not the greatest. Told them when I came in that all I was doing is working out with my friend and to not put me in there call system as I didn’t want to join! I’ve been called at least 6 times, have told them not to call twice, and they set up an appointment without my conformation. Also the equipment is sub par! The membership price is wild, go to LGND for 20 bucks less and for a way better experience.

Mostly clean, but my boyfriend and I have been going to this gym since November 2024 and the sauna has been out of service....so for 5 months. It's really disappointing since we signed up for this gym for the close proximity to our home, and the sauna...also kida lame that there are no true squat racks or dead-lift platforms...so good luck if you're wanting to powerlift. Better off going somewhere else.

Absolute worst signature series club LA Fitness should be embarrassed. For $60/mo machines should be fixed at least within the month and I shouldn’t have the cracked cushions pinch and cut my skin. I would hate to contract a disease because of poor maintenance. Sauna hasn’t worked since before Covid, machines are always broke, bathrooms are always dirty and pool always smells of strong chlorine… indication of “p” in the pool. Do better LA Fitness, this must be a franchise the way this place is run. This is the smallest and worst signature series I have ever been to. Do not sign up for this address.

It's bigger and more equipment and haven't had problems so far. Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice gym and most of the staff is extremely nice. But you have employees stealing from members and no one seemed to care. I had to call the cops and make a report to get camera footage from inside the gym. I called corporate and they don’t do anything. The VP of Sales is horrible. He doesn’t care about the staff or members. He went off on my husband and we called corporate and still nothing happened. You don’t talk to members the way he did. Also the Sauna hasn’t been working for years and this is a signature gym and now we have to pay for towels when that was a perk of this type of gym. Might as well go to a regular La fitness where you don’t have to pay extra and the sauna works. I have been a member of LA Fitness since 2008 and this is the worst it’s ever been.

Been a member for 5 years, it's a good gym overall and it's 5 minutes from my house so it's great for conveince. Gym is kept clean and it's not overly crowded when I train in the mornings. My only complaint is the equipment, in 5 years not one new peice of equipment has been there. The equipment as far as machines is not very good for a place that is marketed as a luxury facility, for instance what commercial gym does not have a hammer strengh flat press? I'm seriously considering switching to lgnd barbell in Oakridge north. It's 15 minutes away but the extra time is probably worth it for better equipment.

This is my go to gym. This location is convenient when driving home from work. The gym has plenty of equipment to choose from and is always being cleaned. There are plenty of lockers and the staff is friendly. The only downside is that it can become pretty crowded during peak hours but that’s the same at any gym.

I've been a member of this gym for about three years, and while it’s not perfect, it’s solid compared to other gyms in the area. I don’t agree with some of the recent comments claiming the gym is “going downhill.” The facility is consistently clean whenever I’m there, and equipment issues are rare—only a couple of times have I seen machines out of order, which, given the heavy usage, seems understandable. Repairs are handled promptly whenever needed.

Regarding the sauna, yes, I miss it too. However, the real issue was that some members consistently ignored the rules, causing repeated damage. Despite the club’s efforts to encourage responsible use, the damage continued, and I understand why they decided to stop constant repairs. From what I hear, they’re even testing a new commercial infrared sauna at another location.

The staff has always been positive, respectful, and supportive of my fitness journey. If you’re looking for a no-frills gym experience, Planet Fitness offers that for $10–15 a month. However, for the features and quality LA Fitness provides, I find the current membership price entirely reasonable—even if towels aren’t included!

I work in the service industry, I know how you speak to customers and handle customer service/complaints. They treated me extremely poorly for wanting to cancel my membership; along with they tried to charge me for things I never purchased. I will never be using LA Fitness again. There are so many better options out there. Please make sure you look into the gym you want to go to so you don’t end up like me, paying for a membership because certain people don’t want to do their jobs.

Saturday 9 am Aqua fit class was awful. The instructor is Bea was lame and unmotivating. She was hardly understandable to begin with. I was in the class for 30 minutes and hadn't done anything intense or invigorating. Barely a workout and I became discouraged. As a former instructor for 12 years I expect a workout with in the first 15 minutes. I gave this gal 30 minutes and never increased my heart rate or anything intense. Total waste of time. She needs to be replaced with a confident, motivating, and well versed in aqua. Do not go its not worth your time. Got to the I-45 location for a 9 am class.

I was initially thrilled to join LA Fitness, particularly due to the new location’s convenience. However, my enthusiasm has turned to frustration as I’ve encountered an ongoing issue with the sauna being out of service for over a month. Despite assurances at sign-up that any malfunctions would be swiftly addressed, my experience suggests otherwise. The suggestion to use another location 10 minutes away is not a solution I find acceptable, given that I chose this gym for its proximity. The lack of timely repairs feels misleading and has led me to consider canceling my membership to join Lifetime Fitness. It’s disheartening when trust is compromised, and at this stage, an apology seems insufficient and insincere.

I’m a founding member. I loved it so much for the first few years. Within the last 18 months it has become a mess. Weights and equipment not reracked or returned to proper place, people sitting on their phones on equipment while others wait. I’ve been a member of this gym since December 2019.

Over the last few years this gym has declined drastically from customer service, quality of equipment/amenities and overall cosmetic appearance of the gym. Not to mention cars are constantly being broken into which guest trying to enjoy their workout.

For the price you pay it’s just not worth the headache or inconvenience anymore. This gym use to be nice clean and welcoming. Now it just seems like an attempt to increase the revenue that comes in by providing subpar service.

By charging guest now for towels that once was included free with membership, the sauna seems to never be available for use, the a/c in the women restroom is always down and not working, the shower heads are missing or don’t work, the sinks seem to always be clogged and not to mention all of the dust and debris in corner of the rooms followed by “Maintenance Needed” signs on majority of the stationary equipment. I’m not saying equipment doesn’t need repairs however it seems like every other machine is down for an extended period of time I’m talking about weeks at a time plus they have this built up grim and gunk on them due to not being properly clean. Even the cable machines clamps are broken.

Complaints go unheard which ultimately lead me to ending my gym relationship with them.

If you don’t mind all of mentioned issues this maybe the gym for you. However I’ve found a new gym to calm home, and believe it or not I’ve been paying for 2 gym memberships for the last 2 years before saying yea this particular LA Fitness Signature Club isn’t living up to its standards.

This place is going from bad to worse. Back in November we decided to cancel ours, membership because a lot of the machines were breaking down and they were not getting fixed. I needed to takeoff from work early because they cannot cancel the account over the phone due to club policy. three months later I’m still gotta go back because they still charging me. I am the account holder, I cancel the account, but my wife and my son are getting charged as a hold account. Please make that make sense if I went in and cancel the account.

I just joined LA Fitness. I like classes. I just notice their shower has no shower head and water pressure is very low. Sometimes I need to take shower and than go to work. It took me 20 min to be able to wash off the soap, since water pressure is so low. I think if they don’t want people use the shower they need to let people know by placing a sign. This is the Harmony location. I don’t know about other locations.

I went in with my brother to make a one time payment on his account. When I did, I told them I was only helping my brother out and I only wanted to make a one time payment. I told them I wanted to make sure my cc was not linked to his account in any way. They assured me it would not be but then they continued charging me every month for six months even after I called and made it clear my card was not supposed to be linked to the account and was again told they would not charge my card again. I was not a party to any contract, have never worked out at LA Fitness and never will due to their dishonesty and fraudulent practices. I never gave them permission to charge my card more than once and was told over and over that I would not be charged again. I recommend anyone that values honesty in business dealings not do business with LA Fitness.

Edit to add details: I contacted the BBB. After contacting them with a complaint, the company refunded my money. I think it is very sad that I had to contact the BBB before LA Fitness would do the right thing. I still think they are dishonest and recommend that people avoid doing business with them.

They really need to get the treadmills faster in this place there are only 2 that go above 10 and one has been "scheduled for service" for nearly a month now.

The spring location has plenty that go up to at least 12.

I have asked about this before and pretty much got the run around by the staff and the manager of the location. Sighting something about safety, but this is a gym everyone is aware of the risks of the equipment if they use it.

There are not enough of the same machines most only have 2 each, and of those only one is frequently working.

The sauna isn't hot enough needs to be at at least 150° but it fluctuates between 125 and 135.

It seems they are charging for Towle service now which I never use anyway but that was definetly on of the perks they touted when they sold me the "signature" club membership.

I liked the environment but it needs to update some machines, add the hit trust machine will be great since many of us are looking to do glutes, it would be good if the pool was deeper and add a racket ball court, the fitness signature is supposed to be better compared to the one regular fitness, however, this establishment still has a lot to improve and something more important, the workers at the entrance should be more friendly..... I really like this location. 100% better than the location on Kuykendahl and 99. It’s clean, the machines actually work, and it’s a good environment so far. There are a lot of unsupervised high school kids (mostly boys) that just hang around, goof off, and take up a ton of space loitering. This is probably the nicest LA Fitness location I've been to.
Clean (i saw the cleaning crew diligently cleaning the locker room and bathrooms), wasn't too busy even at peak time, and lots of free weights and equipment.
I love the cool A/C, who ever installed that needs to do the Greenway Plaza and TX Med Center locations... their A/C have been broken for months.
The sauna uses infrared heaters which is something I hadn't seen at LAF before.
The vibe in the gym was friendly and mostly experienced gym goers (they rerack their weights!).
Parking area is well-lit... and although there wasn't any security guard that I saw, you can at least see the parking area well enough through the windows in the gym.
I'll likely be going to this location more often.
