Beth L is an incredible yoga instructor. Her classes at LifeTime South are so much more than just physical guidance. She weaves in intention, mindfulness, and insight in a way that feels both grounding and transformative. I even walked away with a couple of mind-blowing aha moments after her class today.
Beth has this perfect balance of being gentle yet firm in her encouragement, and her tone, tenor, and cadence make the entire practice feel elevated and accessible at the same time. Truly one of the best instructors I’ve ever had. Highly recommend her classes! 🙏

Been going since it opened. What has changed is the combination of promoting health while profiting from corporations promoting highly processed food like Domino's pizza on the giant TVs one has to look at on the TV wall in front of the equipment. To show on repeat junk food ads to someone like me who, if not going to the gym, would not see cheap highly addictive junk food ads is just sadistic? It is over $200 for an individual membership. What is the motivation of the Lifetime executives to sell fat producing, addictive, junk food to people trying to be healthy?

Great workout spot, wonderful pool and sauna. Would love them to invest a bit more in things like bars and weight clamps but overall happy.
Updated November 2025: need desperately to take better care of the basketball court.
1/ Hardly any balls available, when I visited the lifetime in Omaha there was a huge basket available. Here there are about 4 and are in poor condition. They say they have issues with them getting stolen but I think that stems from them not having any balls so guys snag them so they aren’t left without a ball.
2/ clean the court. I’ve been a member for 3 years and I don’t know if I’ve seen a professional cleaning once.

I’ve been a member of LifeTime South for a little over 5 years. As a daily gym-goer, I always feel welcome in this space, which feels more like a community than a typical gym. The staff are friendly, the gym is clean, and there are plenty of classes and special events to keep you engaged. Special shout out to Amanda W. for her Yoga classes which have become a staple in my weekly routines. Her instruction has helped me level up in what used to be an intimidating discipline for me, and she has gone above and beyond helping my growth - even generously gifting me my own Liforme mat which transformed my practice. Thank you, Amanda and LifeTime for contributing to the best health I have ever had!

This gym is poorly managed and extremely crowded. They lack enforcement of returning weights or cleaning which leads to a dirty and inefficient experience. The amount of dirt, dust, and hair left on the floor is disgusting. They don’t enforce the closed toe shoe rule and I would see multiple people daily putting their bare feet on the weights and mats and not cleaning after. I am not sure they ever clean the showers, there is piles of hair on the walls in every stall. The recovery equipment is constantly broken.
It looks like they did a large push for 5 star reviews lately. Interesting.
The outdoor pool is nice though.

Amanda is the best yoga instructor I’ve ever had. Her Friday Fire HIIT class is my favorite. She makes it a very welcoming space. I love how she creates intentional themes for each class, lovely flows, and challenging hiit exercises. Also, her playlists are amazing🔥

If I could give zero stars I would. I purchased this membership so I could workout with my kids utilizing the kids club. The first time we visited we had a great experience for both my kids; ages 2,4. The seconded time my two year old had something happened to her. I still don’t know what, but it left her so fearful of the kids club that she can’t even enter the building without sheer panic. She has NEVER acted like this before and when I spoke to the staff about looking at the footage from her second visit to see if an incident happened, they told me no. Her first visit she ran away from me to go play and now she screams everytime we walk into the building. They told me this is normal and that I just needed to do exposer therapy. I asked if I could help her feel safe in the facility by walking her in and showing her around the play area, that was denied, I asked if she could be with her sister( because they separate the two age groups) that was also denied. They gave me no resources to help her feel safe . I still don’t know why she doesn’t feel safe there.
Last week my 4 year old got a concussion during her time in the gymnastics class. I was standing in the lobby of the kids area waiting, because my two year old is terrified and I heard my 4 year old scream and run to the front. She knew I was there with her little sister waiting. She had a huge bump on her head that was swelling fast. The girl at the kids check in desk walkie talkied the male teacher asking did he see what happened and I listened as the male teacher responded “he didn’t know what happened to her.” I waited for his class to finish so I could talk to him. While waiting my 4 year old told me, a boy ran into her head and ran away. I understand these things happen, but I wanted to talk to the teacher like any responsible parent. The male teacher could not have cared less that my daughter was injured. He didn’t speak to her, or check on her and when I questioned him about what happened he said she fell down. I told him what I daughter said about bumping heads with a boy and pointed the boy out that my daughter said and he glanced over to the boy and said “that wouldn’t have happened.” So he didn’t see what happened but he knew she was wrong. It took me two days to speak to someone higher up in the company about this accident. I called 10 times. Finally connecting with the right people I asked for the footage to be looked at because the teacher told my daughter she was wrong and didn’t care that she got a concussion. Finally the footage was viewed ( not by me, because that’s not allowed) and the footage revealed that this male teacher just happened to set his class up in the only blind spot in the back play area, that feels icky too. So now we won’t know what actually happened to my daughter’s head.
I payed $800 for my two year old to be traumatized and my 4 year old to get a concussion. Not to mention I called multiple times within the few months we have had a membership to try to see if the outdoor pool was open for FAMILY use and multiple times the front desk said yes. So I packed everyone up to go swim and then when we arrived the outdoor pool as actually only open to adults, no children.
This place is not good for families. I really wish it was but we have had too many horrible experiences.

This Lifetime has really become more of a community hub than a gym…welcoming, fun, and full of great people. Hayley, who hosts Wine Down Wednesday and other events, brings a lot of fun and warmth (the tote bag painting night was so fun!). She’s a natural community builder.
The pickleball team is great and this life time has a solid pickleball program in general. Luz, Kobla, Ian, and Ally do an amazing job keeping things organized & fun with so many players and different skill levels. Kelly Vidor is a fantastic personal trainer, and Jeff’s yoga classes always leave you grounded and learning something new about your practice.
It’s a place I genuinely look forward to going that’s high-end yet down-to-earth, and full of community spirit.

I have been a member of Lifetime now for just over 14 months. I enjoy all the group fitness classes I have tried as they allow me to focus on the moment, challenging, and fun. I consistently go to Bex's barre classes and AMP. She has helped me SO much with improving my form, encouragement, and her classes always put me in a better mood. I have been a member of Lifetime Fitness for about 5 years now. It is the best fitness club I have ever belonged to by far. I love that it has so much to offer. I enjoy the pleasant, upscale atmosphere and that it has so much to offer. Lifetime provides the best equipment, fun classes, sports like pickleball, activities like rock climbing, group motivation programs, etc. The Cafe has better food than most restaurants and I love the healthy grab & go items. I'm glad Lifetime has a kids center so my kids can be entertained while I'm working out.
Even though I prefer cardio, recently I've decided to expand my exercise horizons to strength training. I was assigned to Cameron and I lucked out! He is awesome!
He is very knowledgeable about fitness in all forms and nutrition. He guides me through the workout with encouragement and important advice. I'm not a big strength training fan, but it's fun with him! He is so positive, energetic, and personable. And wow, do I get an AMAZING workout every time! He even goes the extra mile and provides me with workout routines I can do at home on the days I don't go to the gym. Cameron encourages me to adopt healthy habits and holds me accountable for bad habits I'm trying to curb. Overall, Cameron provides a wonderful and productive strength training experience!!

I’ve had a membership with lifetime since 2023 and I gotta say the facilities and equipment are fantastic, but my favorite part of lifetime has to be the cafe. Whether you need a quick cup of coffee to get you going in the morning, or a protein shake for that metabolic window, lifetime cafe has it all. I want to give praise to Grace who has always given me the best service rain or shine. As someone who’s been in the service industry, it’s important to give praise where it’s due, and nobody is more deserving of that at the cafe than Grace!

My family has been going to Lifetime South Austin for about 10 years now. Although I wish they would reopen the rock wall for adults, the classes and amenities keep us coming back despite the price hikes over the years. Alpha and Barre have dominated my calendar for months now. All of the trainers and class instructors are approachable and amazing. In a group setting, they excel at meeting you where you are at. I appreciate the positive encouragement while also allowing the freedom to choose my own adventure with modifications to make it spicy or bring it down a notch to build strength. It is a total judgement-free zone. I honestly couldn't choose my favorite Barre class if I tried. However, Bex gets a special shout out here. Who doesn't need the affirmations of "you're perfect", "YES - you can!" and "you're gorgeous" in their world to the best playlists ever? She makes my day.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel like others should know about my experience with Lifetime Fitness.
After signing up, I got a call offering a complimentary swim lesson. The rep scheduled me, but I was never able to attend. The following month, I was charged $100 for lessons I never signed up for or agreed to.
Since then, I’ve tried to resolve this with the club. I spoke with the general manager, who told me the credit would be placed on my account—but I explained that I’m moving out of the country and pregnant, so I cannot use the lessons. Despite this, I’ve now spoken with three different people over the past three weeks, and every time I’m told they will follow up by email or phone. I’ve had to chase them myself each time, and I still have no resolution.
It’s extremely frustrating to be charged for something I never authorized and then to be refused a refund despite my situation. I honestly expected better communication and customer service from a company of this size.

Overall , it is okay
It hast the exact same equipment as LA Fitness and of course it is cleaner and more reliable . However they seem to lack ab equipment like they only have two abs cruncher that are not even good.
Plus they don't have any decline bench to crunches
The cold plunge, sauna, steam room and pool are great and this is mostly the reason I am coming here
But if you don't need the cold plunge just stick to LA Fitness
They have way more machines and bench press, like it is ridiculous to only see 4 while at LA Fitness there is at least 5 flat bench and 2 incline and 1 decline
They could do a better job with the machines

I was a dedicated Lifetime Fitness member for over six years, but I recently made the decision to leave and I feel compelled to explain why.
For a club that is among the most profitable in the country, the condition of my location has become unacceptable. The bathrooms and showers are consistently dirty, often littered with trash, razors, plastic bags, gum, and hair. The locker rooms are poorly maintained and unhygienic, which makes for a really unpleasant experience. On top of that fees continue to increase while the experience actually decreases! 70% of the people are in the weight lifting section yet it makes up 10% of the entire gym and despite constant request for more equipment or rearranging they don’t do anything!
The equipment situation is even worse. Not only is there not enough weightlifting equipment, but what’s there is frequently broken or unsafe. Just last week, I sat down on a leg extension machine and the cracked padding actually cut into my leg—I had to place a towel over it just to use it. A couple of weeks before that, a bolt came loose on a flat bench mid-set, causing the pad to slide—an obvious safety hazard that could have led to injury.
What makes this more frustrating is that other Lifetime locations I’ve visited are immaculate, well-maintained, and professional. This one is the complete opposite. Despite multiple emails to the concierge and conversations with management, nothing ever seems to improve.
I switched to Golda literally across the street and at a fraction of the cost—is cleaner, safer, and better run. I was paying nearly $200 a month at Lifetime and receiving less in terms of cleanliness, equipment quality, and overall standards.
I truly wanted to stay. I’ve loved the brand and the community for years, but the lack of upkeep, hygiene, and accountability at this location made it impossible to justify continuing. Fees continue to increase and they improve absolutely nothing.

My wife accidentally left her purse at this location, containing everything you can imagine that goes in a purse. She called the next day, and an employee at the front confirmed they had it. She explained it would be a while before we could come pick it up, and there were no issues at that time.
When she went to retrieve the purse, they claimed it had been “lost” or that an employee had “donated it”—though it seems more likely it was stolen. I spoke with the manager, who seemed somewhat concerned, but they didn’t take basic steps like checking the security cameras or tracking the purse logically.
They have taken zero responsibility, offered no compensation, and we still haven’t heard back from them. Extremely disappointing service or lack of. Our privacy has been completely compromised and violated.

I’m a paying member at Lifetime and had a very unpleasant experience. I went directly from the steam room to the shower, but a staff member rudely stopped me, saying the club was closed — not even allowing me to quickly rinse off.
Right after this, several other people entered and used the showers without any problem. This was unfair, inconsistent, and unprofessional treatment. For the high membership fees, I expect respect and equal rules for all members.

I like Lifetime overall and have been to locations all over. But this one just isn’t enjoyable. It’s one of their older facilities - still well-equipped and well-staffed - but the surrounding social energy is tough. The area feels very socially conservative. The dominant vibe is white, straight, suburban, and distinctly NIMBY. It’s functional if you just need a workout - and it may work well for those who “fit in.” But if you don’t, the energy can be draining. If this is Austin “weird,” it’s weirdly judgy and unwelcoming.

The South Location Leadership especially under Adam Curry is horrific-they do want to kick out existing members by increasing dues to bring more expensive new members (but know that you'll be kicked out soon with overcharged membership dues) The jacuzzi and gym area is always overcrowded. Jacuzzi area is almost disgusting. Don't waste your money here..There are much nicer gyms around.

If you don’t have kids/don’t need the amenities like day care etc.. it’s a bit of a rip off. 200 dollars for a single membership , and an extra charge to use the outdoor pool ? I switched over to another one down the street for 10 bucks and the gym itself (workout area) is nicer/larger . If you have a large family, play pickle ball, this place makes sense .(You used to be able to play basketball there without a big crowd , but they converted one side to pickle ball) . Another thing is the cloths dryer is never working.

The kids academy staff members have been harrassing my family, when we brought this to management, my wife got shouted at by the GM Adam, I complained with corporate about it and my kid got suspended for 3 months no proof of misbehaviour was provided to me, be careful if you have toddlers they will not be tolerated and received phone calls that you have to pick up your kid after 25 min of be at the gym.

I had a guest pass from my friends who teaches yoga there. I had an awesome time at the yoga class, everyone seemed really friendly. The gym and staff were pretty clean, even the men's locker room didn't gross me out. What did gross me out was the smell of the pool. I could smell it before I opened the door. I suppose they require a good amount of chlorine. Saw a guy walk into the pool with his socks on and just sit there. So idk about the pool. It was the deciding factor that made me say, "Yeah, just guest passes for me." If you're not interested in the pool, I'd say it's a great gym, just hella expensive. See Olly for yoga!

Do you want to join a gym that raises your rates every year, claims that they are doing so due in part to waiting lists for other locations (when in actuality there are no waiting lists for Austin locations other than the one which is not yet open; yes I called them all), with managers who don’t respond to your emails when you inquire as to why your rate is going up so much when they are signing up so many people you always have to wait on equipment, or come in after work to find no towels available in the locker room after you shower? Well then, this might be the gym for you.
Third time in two weeks I’ve been to this location during post work hours with no towels available and no one working the locker room

There are never enough squat racks for the amount of people who go here. Ive been a member for a month and a half and have had to wait 20+ minutes for a rack to open up almost every day no matter what time i go. An insane amount of people walk around here with no shoes on?? It’s disgusting. Took my child to the kids club twice and you couldnt pay me to take them back, so essentially i pay $70 a month for my child to have access to the pool because they’re not allowed to use the pool without a membership which is insane.

I’ve been a member of Lifetime for four years, and unfortunately, my experience has been more frustrating than enjoyable. The only time I could actually work out in peace was after 9 PM—otherwise, the gym is overcrowded. In the mornings, when I’d prefer to swim or exercise, the pool is taken over by the swim team, and the upstairs area is packed.
Another issue is hygiene—why are sweaty members allowed to jump into the jacuzzi fully clothed? It’s unsanitary and shouldn’t be allowed.
Since I travel frequently, I’ve had to freeze my membership multiple times to avoid increasing fees, which I assumed was the right thing to do. Last year, my insurance covered Lifetime, but I switched plans this year and wanted to reactivate my membership. However, when I approached customer service, I was told I would be charged as a new member, despite never canceling. Thankfully, Adam, who was very professional, agreed that it wasn’t fair and we reached a compromise—yet I was still charged differently than we had discussed.
It’s clear that Lifetime values new members more than loyal, long-term customers. Instead of feeling appreciated, I felt like just another number in their system. I’ve now submitted my cancellation notice and will be taking my business elsewhere—somewhere that actually values its paying customers. Goodbye, Lifetime.

Fabulous gym. The sauna and steam rooms are well maintained. They upgraded treadmills just recently, and plenty of machines that even when it’s crowded, you still have a place to go. The pickleball courts are mainly there for the pros, regional manager Thomas & in club manager Adam would rather 1 person lesson slots that appear to go unbooked frequently take priority over open play to 30 members at a time. They try to force you into private lessons when it’s brought up. The climbing wall is also only open to children a few times a week never to adults. Misrepresenting their resources and offerings. When we told them we’ve been trying to get any kind of time on the court for 2 months they didn’t help us, admitted many members were upset, yet weren’t familiar with the schedule. Only after contacting corporate and on site for 2 months did I write this review. No reason to treat clients like this.

Honestly used to love this gym, I’ve been a member at lifetime for over 8 years. recently the quality has really gone down, the front desk staff is so rude and unhelpful. My phone was dead and I drive a Tesla so need my phone to turn on the car. They said they don’t have chargers anymore. So I asked them if I can use their phone to call someone, and they took me to a phone on the wall that only calls the front desk and a 512 number. Luckily another employee let me use their phone.
As a front desk person, it is literally their job to be customer focused, apparently not anymore.

I am a current member of this gym. It is very frustrating that the men’s locker room is always getting shut down for god knows what. It has been over 7 times this year alone, sometimes for long periods of time.
I cannot use amenities that I pay for.It is getting way too overcrowded all the time, a lot of the equipment is always broken.
If it weren’t because of how much I actually need the swimming pool for an old back injury and the actually amazing yoga instructors I would just cancel the membership all together.
I am so glad I never actually canceled my Golds membership.
Save your generic response and use that energy and time to actually fix the toilets and everything in the men’s locker room and the upstairs restroom.
For how much you guys charge the gym alone leaves a lot to be desired.
Also open up the tennis court, some of us actually want to play tennis.

This is by far the worst lifetime I have ever been to. Terribly managed.
The gym equipment is constantly broken and the entire workout area looks like it is cleaned only once a week.
The amenities are great if they are ever working. The saunas, pools, and hot tubs are broken most of the time.
Want to use a squat rack? Think again because they use all of them for the group classes and personal trainers(that don’t even look like they workout).

When I first joined this gym, I was impressed by the facilities and the overall atmosphere. The equipment was modern, the staff were friendly, and there was a strong sense of community among members. The gym offered a variety of classes and amenities that made it an attractive place to work out.
However, over time, I’ve noticed a significant decline in the quality of services provided. The gym has undergone several renovations that seem more focused on aesthetics than functionality. While some improvements were welcome, many changes felt superficial and did not enhance the workout experience. Instead, these renovations have been accompanied by consistent price increases, which is frustrating for long-time members like myself.
The rising costs are particularly concerning given the diminishing quality of services. Each time I receive a notification about a price hike, I can’t help but feel that I’m being charged more for less value. It seems as though the management is prioritizing profit over member satisfaction.
One of the most disappointing aspects has been the maintenance of key facilities like the sauna and steam rooms. Initially, these areas were cleaned weekly, providing a pleasant environment for relaxation after workouts. Unfortunately, it appears that this standard has slipped significantly; I have serious doubts about whether they are cleaned at all anymore. This lack of cleanliness not only detracts from my experience but also raises concerns about hygiene and safety.
In summary, while my initial experience at this gym was positive, ongoing issues with pricing and cleanliness have led to growing dissatisfaction. It feels as though the focus has shifted away from providing quality service to maximizing profits through unnecessary renovations and increased fees. I hope that management will take these concerns seriously and make necessary changes to restore the gym to its former glory.

I’ve previously raised concerns about the water being turned off before members could shower, apparently to rush staff out the door by midnight. Tonight, I experienced yet another frustrating issue that highlights a recurring problem with closing procedures.
I drove all the way from campus, bypassing Anytime Fitness across the street, specifically to use the sauna. I delayed my workout all day for this trip. After finishing my workout, I headed toward the pool area to use the sauna, but the front desk staff told me it wasn’t on because it was being cleaned. However, as I walked back to the locker room, I noticed someone sitting in the sauna. Curious, I checked and found that the sauna was indeed on—it had been cleaned and turned back on.
It felt as though the front desk associate was intentionally discouraging sauna use to speed up closing procedures. This is unacceptable given the high membership fees we pay.
While using the sauna, another staff member—a dark-haired Asian man—opened the sauna door, allowing heat to escape, to tell us we needed to leave by midnight. This was not the first time he had done this. On a previous occasion, he opened the sauna door and told us the water would be turned off—a claim I later addressed with the general manager, who assured me this practice was unacceptable and would not happen again. Ontop of that, when I did finally get into the shower I realized none of the soaps had been refilled. Perhaps before someone comes to rush us out the door, they should make sure and take the time to finish. There is no reason someone should come walking into the sauna 10 minutes before you close to rush us out when they havent even finished restocking the things we need to shower and get out the door for them.
This gym has significantly reduced its value to members: it’s no longer 24 hours, has removed one of the basketball courts, added paid lockers while reducing free ones, and raised prices—all while delivering less. Members are now being rushed out the door at closing, which diminishes the experience we pay for.
The daytime general manager has been understanding in the past, but tonight’s experience shows that these issues persist. Staff attempting to speed up their closing duties caused unnecessary delays for members. Had the sauna situation been communicated accurately, and had the sauna door not been opened unnecessarily, we all would have been finished and out the door much sooner.
I hope Lifetime Fitness management addresses these recurring issues promptly to restore the standard of service expected from this gym.

Worst gym experience and such a waste of my time. I signed up for my first class and arrived 20 minutes early to check in. The woman named Michelle was extremely rude and unhelpful. I couldn’t download the Lifetime app because my phone isn’t a US one, so the app just wouldn’t appear in my App Store. I asked if we could sort it out after my class, as I had already signed all the documents and the only thing left was this check-in. Her response was: “You have to stay here until I check you in.” Like, seriously? By the time she finally let me in, it was already too late for the class. All other classes were full - and my mood was completely ruined.
Their solution for me was ‘you should get the US phone’. You guys really need to work on your customer service.

I've been training with Tyler Garrett for a while now, and I can confidently say she is the best personal trainer I’ve ever worked with. What sets Tyler apart is her attention to detail and constant encouragement. Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or you're looking to push past a plateau, Tyler is right there with you, guiding you and pushing you to be your best. Her energy is infectious and I genuinely look forward to every session, even when I'm having a shit day and/or I'm tired.

Overall, I enjoy working out here, as a new member. The facilities are clean and there is a wide assortment of machines, free-weights, and classes, plus a ton of amenities to choose from.
The absolute worst part of this location is Michelle at the front counter. Michelle consistently has a poor attitude and is a terrible representation of the Lifetime Fitness brand. I first visited with my wife to tour the facility on a weekday morning. I was made to feel like a fool and a burden by Michelle, for choosing the day and time I did without making a reservation (which I had no idea was even a possibility). Apparently, weekday mornings are quite busy, which I understand; what I don't understand is why she had such a poor attitude with a perspective member who will pay many thousands of dollars over the next couple of decades, as this location is very close to our home. Michelle's poor attitude immediately stood out to
my wife and me. Fortunately, KJ the trainer introduced himself and offered to give us a tour. He was great - friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We signed up and I see both Michelle and KJ often - KJ is always positive and upbeat, while Michelle is consistently cold and unfriendly.
If you're thinking of joining this Lifetime location and Michelle is your first encounter, I would recommend working with anyone else. Everyone else I've worked with at the front counter has been very friendly and helpful. Don't let one person turn you off from such a great gym.

This gym has been a great place for our family to have fun and stay active while indoor from the Austin heat.
One of the highlights has been having John Brown as my personal trainer. He has been invaluable in my fitness journey during the past 3 months to help me with strength building and body recompositioning. His expertise in nutrition to his incredible skill set in dynamic stretching, where only he can magically wipe out any tensions I have that day to allow me to perform the training exercises safely, pain-free and with proper form and technique. He’s also a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the hows and whys of all the strength exercises he has planned for me. I leave each session smarter and stronger. I can see & feel the difference and am always surprise at what I am capable of lifting coming out of our weekly session. Thanks, Coach for the support and motivation! “Let’s Go!”
In addition to training, the group classes with Jen F, Noelle, Lisa, and Aimee are so fun and empowering. They’re such great instructors and you come out of each of their classes feeling great.
Our girls regularly go to rock climbing because Ms. Allison makes it extra fun and is so great communicating with the kids. We also utilize their indoor lap pool and shower several times a week.
Definitely worth the investment in exchange for a fun and active lifestyle.

Pay more to get less (shrinkflation). This gym is more expensive, they no longer include Apple Fitness plus, and they charge you extra to use the same outdoor pool you used to have access to that was included in your membership. I was confused so i walked out immediately grabbed a towel but by the time i got to the shower, right at midnight it was already off. As much money as we pay here rushing us out the door is ridiculous. When a resteraunt closes you dont take peoples plates away and tell them to leave, you lock the doors dont let anyone else in let them finish then clean up. DONT TRUST THE DAYCARE. I was going here for 2 years. Never had a bad experience, if my son cry’s or needs diaper change they would always call me. The other day I pick him up from the fay care and he has a bloody nose that has been cleaned.. I ask? And they give me some half response answer that I didn’t really believe cuz the girl that told me had to go look for another staff and ask her what happened. Like they didn’t know. I’ ask for a manager, the manager try’s to use his posture and size to scare me away from being upset that his staff has hurt my kid. Says I can’t see the footage and refuses to give me any help. I say I’ll cause scene, he then leaves “checks the tape” then comes back and says “another kid hit him” … I didn’t believe him or trust him /them. Because what he told me what happened is different than what the girl ant the daycare told me.. I find it odd and suspicious. They always called when something happen if he cried or soemthing. then when this happens they don’t call or even try to help me understand what happened. The. Try to shove me away and threaten to remove me from the premises.

1. Towel service is pretty good.
2. Friendly staff.
3. Overall pretty good vibe of people.
Negatives:
1. Sauna needs repairs, instead they rigged the temperature gauge to read the same temp. (Update: as of 3/29/24 they replaced the electric coal equipment and the sauna is working well 👍👍)
2. They used to keep the outdoor pool open at night, now they close it at 7pm. Many people liked utilizing cold plunging in the winter after work. (Update: as of 4/21/24 the outdoor pool is open past 7pm.)
3. Exercise equipment is average and a bit dated. You can get better for less elsewhere.

Lifetime is a wonderful place to train , workout and get healthy . The facility is clean , the locker rooms are welcoming and the classes are varied and led by great and knowledgeable instructors. Personal training with John has been a highlight . I had pain from a hip injury and after two weeks of sessions with him it is gone . I highly recommend becoming a member of lifetime fitness .

Throughout the last 20 years, I've signed up for a lot of different gyms. I never really felt excited about working out, and it always felt like a chore. That changed when I signed up for Lifetime! I look forward to going to the gym, and I look forward to working out with my personal trainer, McKay. He has helped me start to shape my body in a way I couldn't have done on my own. I've only been working out with him for a month and I've already lost 6% of my body fat! In addition to personal training and dynamic stretch, he's also taught me a few ballet moves, and now I'm taking actual classes. I never would have thought I could pursue my dreams of dancing until now. Thank you, McKay, and thank you to all the Lifetime staff who have created a welcoming environment for myself and for my two children.

Great gym, but as many others have mentioned there is a capacity problem. If you like personal space this is not the spot to choose for those training outside of working hours. Personally I don't mind. It's hard to find an alternative that has a solid sauna like this location. Pro tip: the communal sauna gets significantly hotter

Please please put some rules or a sign or something so people just don’t sit on the equipments texting or watch TikTok etc. it’s too busy nowadays for members to put up with that.

Just joined and love it so far. Facility is pristine and beautifully maintained. Yes it can get a little crowded but not anymore than any other gym.

Working with McKay the Trainer at Lifetime got me started again after two decades of being up to my eyeballs in raising kids. I had motivation problems, I was up twenty pounds, my energy was down, my clothes didn't fit, I was becoming one of those people that gets up from the couch slowly and I was generally headed in a downward spiral. I knew what I needed to do to start getting healthy again and I just couldn't make myself do it. McKay became an encouraging and positive force for me to get started again, one step at a time. He provided an accountability for me and some new exercises to try as well as helping me manage my nutrition. He designed a program based on my individual needs and my ability to maintain compliance which was key. I'm happy to say that after just eight weeks, my bodyfat is down, my clothes are fitting better, and I can move better even just in my activities of daily living like getting the dogfood out of the trunk! My energy is up and I'm looking forward to continuing in the next phase of my "get healthy" plan!

This is a great gym. Staff actually try to connect with the members and are genuinely invested in your life.
I had the pleasure of doing some personal training sessions with McKay and it was great. Kept the knowledge flowing and always challenged me. If you trying to start off, highly recommend you give him a try.

Used to love this gym. Now it’s waaaay too packed. Came on a Saturday afternoon and literally every single piece of equipment was in use. I walked in and “noped” right out after seeing this zoo.

" I love Lifetime! The prices are decent for membership and the 1st week is free. The child care center rocks and my kids love their child fitness classes too!
The deals they offer year round are fantastic so I suggest getting on an email list and waiting for the right deal to come your way. The equipment is clean and the floor plan is well thought out. It's just so dang far from where I live in Steiner! Please open one closer!! Like at the Wal-mart center that just closed down on 620!!"

Gym has got seriously busy now and there are no rules. Lifetime if you’re going to over sell memberships at least put some rules in place. I am at the gym daily and am now watching people use equipment as a seat to catch up on social media. Start putting some rules in place or you’re going to lose members including myself. Worse you’re going to get physical confrontation, I’m already hearing stories.

I agree with the review that says Lifetime south is a zoo. Who has time to workout at this gym. You would need hours to workout just waiting on equipment because every single square inch of the place is packed with people. I was a member of lifetime for years before Austin became overpopulated, so I expected busy. I’m used to crowded gyms, but I haven’t seen a gym this packed in my 20 years of going to gyms. I’m surprised it isn’t over max capacity, and I wasn’t even there during peak hours. I see why they won’t let you try their gym out and require you to purchase a 50 dollar day pass, that should’ve been the first red flag. The irony is that it costs 200 a month to join, but you couldn’t pay me to go here. I give it two stars because, if there were room to actually use it, it’s a nice place. If you’re looking for a social scene, this is your gym, but it’s a no for me.

It's SO crowded. If you work a normal job and want to work out at normal hours, you will have to literally have to WAIT for a PARKING SPOT, TREADMILL, and EVERYTHING. Every single spots to workout were full. It is literally a zoo.

Outdoor pool closed until early January due to a broken gate that was discovered only on an unannounced inspection by the city. I would like to say this location is badly managed, but in truth it's basically unmanaged, as they haven't had a GM for months now. I've been a member for 10+ years and spend $1,500+ a month on my membership and personal training. Rates keep going up as quality of the facilities and services declines, with apparently no area management or corporate accountability. If not for my training relationship, I would cancel my membership and join the newly opened Crunch or Gold's Gym, both just across the street.

Love lifetime and have been coming here since 2011. Recently I had an incident where I tore my tricep tendon and was out for 3 months. Once I was cleared I was lost on what type of workouts I should be doing. A trainer by the name D Mckay approached me and saw I was having trouble. He offered training and assistance all while protecting my arm and building its strength back. I’ve been working with him for a month and some change now, and he’s changed my approach on workouts and nutrition in a good way. It’s been a hard road but I’m no longer inflamed, fatigued, and have lost weight due to his assistance and accountability.

Overall great gym! I come here for clean towels and hot tubs/saunas more than anything. Both of which are offered by no other gyms in Austin from what I understand. Even some other lifetime gyms! Aside from that the gym does have some crowding during peak time. And by some, I mean a lot. “Luxury” gyms in Austin are very popular and there should be more Lifetimes. Aside from that, staff is great, new renovations are nice with a new workspace, responsiveness to inquiries is fast, classes are expertly led. The list goes on for what all is right here. -1 star for crowding and missing basics like bar clamps, cracked equipment padding, equipment unavailable during classes during peak times.

I worked with a trainer there named McKay. First off WOW! It’s hard to find a trainer as well rounded as him and experienced. 10/10 would recommend. Give him a try! You will feel and see the results.

Life time is my go to gym. It offers multiple workout options and has good trainers at S. Austin location. I recently trained with Duncan McKay, he made a fitness plan to help me attain my fitness goals. He was supportive and took time to understand my limitations and strengths. I strongly recommend him!
