False advertisement alert. We were mainly looking for something fun for our kids to do, so I toured this location and the staff raved about the childcare classes and opportunities: Toddler movement and storytime, and for the older kids they said they offer science/math/experiment groups, art and building, etc. My 8 year old daughter was so excited on the way there. I also took my 2 year old twins. When I picked them up after an hour the twins were just laying on the floor next to each other looking depressed which I’ve never seen them do, and my daughter was in near tears because the STEAM class I registered her for simply didn’t happen, neither did toddler storytime. I specifically told the front desk person this is their first time so call me if anyone wasn’t enjoying it. My daughter did ask someone to call me, and no one did for any of the kids. I was so sad to find them all like this. And now I’m pretty angry about that entire experience, why claim to offer these “classes” if they don’t even do them? I already canceled our ridiculously expensive membership. I reached out to several numbers and emails and no one ever responded.

I have had the privilege of traveling and experiencing just about all the lifetime fitness center in the US , The best by far is the North Club in Austin Tx. The People are so kind , The staff are proven All Stars and full of kindness . , The club is always having fun activities where you can meet up with the koolest people , Thanks for the awesome experience

I absolutely love this gym. The amount of equipment and for the most part the quality of the equipment is top notch. At this location some of the equipment is getting long in the tooth specifically the older Hammer Strength equipment. Their cardo equipment is top notch and the classes they offer are outstanding. I especially enjoy the Alpha Strength and Cardio. They could also do with some updates to the locker room showers as they are aging a bit but their Sauna and Cold plunge are also awesome. This location also has Pickleball which I use every week and hope more gyms incorporate it.

I’ve been a member of Lifetime for 16 years. This is my happy place and my social time where I can meet all my fitness goals and like minded people. I get motivated daily by all awesome lifetime trainers and members. This is not just a community, it’s a family for me! Lifetime is my daily routine and I love attending all different small and big group fintess classes and personal training. There are so many amenities to use and enjoy like saunas , pools, hot tub and cold plunge and other areas like pickleball/basketball courts.
There is nothing else in the area like Lifetime and I truly love this gym.

Closes the basketball court for “parties” without an update in the official LifeTime app. Had no idea the gym operated as a Chuck E. cheese, while the other LifeTime locations are open for serious athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
This location is ran as a daycare and community center for parents who cannot afford both a gym membership and daycare/summer camp ?
I called to ask how to reserve the court for private events and suddenly they don’t offer this option but the employees said they closed the court for “parties”.

They simply do not answer the phone. I've been calling for days after I took a tour. I have specific questions regarding the membership as I have multiple people to add and need to know how they are classified considering our special circumstances. Unfortunate I won't even begin a membership there considering their lack of customer services.

employees will steal your stuff watch out!! that room is basically their break room as far as I can tell or where the employees store their belongings? I had to basically FORCE them to open and find my $600 pair of headphones that was 'in someones bag' after being able to connect to them by that door!!! No excuses why they were not sent to LOST AND FOUND!!!!!

Basketball court is always filthy. Someone is going to get injured. Have brought it up multiple times and nobody does anything. No one cares just go through the motions. How much do you have to pay to not have to play on a dirt floor?

Overall place is ok for adults, but they kinda dislike children. Children are not even allowed to be outside unless they eat food that is strictly purchased in their cafe. I would understand swimming constraints, but not the outdoor sunbath time. As soon as I finish my training program they loose me as a customer.

Updated: Worst ever.
After 2 years in this gym, it's safe to say that this is the worst experience I have with Lifetime. No matter what time I go, there will always be classes going on at the rack section. They have total 12 stations, when classes going on, 10 of them is reserved, you will only have 2 left, combine with 4 other one in the corner. And even if they don't use all 10, they will not give it out. I think it's ridiculous. Feels like they just want more money since people pay more with classes. I tried to go early in the morning at 6:30AM, or a bit later 9:30, and God forbid, who wants to always workout at 2PM, which seems to be the only time you are allowed to do your workout. We paid almost $300 a month for such poor management. Did I mention that I can't use the outdoor gym because I refuse to pay a "one time fee"? And don't even let me start on the swimming class. If they really care, they would have seperate their class and where people work out. The classes bother me a lot, which is why I will move to Crunch instead. Good luck finding empty spot here.
The equipment will need to be updated. They don't even have proper weight stopper. The plates are way too big and old. The way the free bar rack was set up far away from dumbell rack making it very hard for complex or superset workout. I'm a small person, it's hard to carry the weight across the gym. I used to go to Lifetime in Garland, the facility and equipment always updated and new, everything was sparkling new over there, with half the price I gotta pay over here. I love Lifetime but I feel like with the price we pay, there are some expectation needs to be met. Hopefully their team take it into consideration.

We have been at lifetime for over 3 years and it is our on my way from home. The Kids Academy staff holds our children so well, they pour into them and love them like their own! Specifically, Miss sonia and Miss Emma will forever be in our hearts. Our daughter is very shy and picky about who cares for her, and her daughter will run to them at any moment! Miss Brittany, the lead assistant of the Kids Academy has a heart of gold! Pretty much any team member that we talk To get to know us, who we are and even knows us by name. It really feels like they care, which means a lot. This isn’t just any other gym. You get what you pay for! To have all of the things that Lifetime 🖤 provides is such a blessing. When the day comes that we leave Lifetime 🖤, we will truly be heartbroken! Grateful for the time we have been here, the Classes I have taken, the care for my kids, the awesome employees, and the constant evolution of how they are trying to grow and provide quality care and equipment for the entire gym.

Update September 2025
I went to use the sauna today and it was unexpectedly closed. So to the hot tub I thought. It was also unexpectedly closed. Apparently, the times of sauna cleaning were changed and lifetime didn’t notify customers (11-2, with heaters off at 10:30). I also did not receive an email about the hot tub being closed either. Staff working the Pickleball open plays often leave forcing customers to govern themselves causing confusion and issues.
Updated May 2024
4:58PM I am at the squat rack area, working out. A staff member comes to me asking if I’m doing a class, I said no, looked at the time and asked her “oh is there a class at 5?” She said “ya, and you need to leave.” Meanwhile there’s NO ORANGE ZONES blocking the area which is what they normally do. Aka she was late to her own class and thought she could be rude to people who were in that area even though she failed to do mark the area off. That PT was Inga.
Original review Jan 2024 (loosing stars)
This location has a ton of amenities that make it worth the price.
Only critique is the sauna is a dry, stone/heater sauna, not infrared. It gets cleaned once a week but still smells like bleach and feet. So many people not using towels despite the sign, so their bacteria filled sweat soaks into the wood causing permanent odor. The temperature is usually about 160. The cleanings are every Thursday 1-3PM.
Also curious what days/times chlorine is added to the jacuzzis/pools? So I can avoid using them then.

Clean gym and equipment. Classes are engaging and range from beginner to advanced. Access to basketball court is a big headache though as they use the courts for kids academy during the summer and random events throughout the year. For example - they use the basketball courts twice this month on Sat/Sun for a Kids birthday party for the whole afternoon. For those looking to play basketball - this might be a big turnoff for you

I think this place is so worth it if you have kids. The daycare staff is awesome :) I only really use the outdoor lap pool (which is fine) I’ve tried a few classes which I also enjoyed! The locker room could use some updates. I thought it was also fine until I went to a different lifetime and they had glass doors on the shower and way newer towels. AND an infrared sauna in the locker room. I think the only one is co ed here.

The instructors and cleaning staff are wonderful. Outside them though the other Staff is terrible here. Hard pressed to ever find someone on the training floor for help and the management, don’t get me started on attitude and customer service. Had multiple issues ordering from cafe where we found plastic in a smoothie and repeated expired drinks stocked. The water tastes really bad. It smells when you walk in. The membership is just completely not justified by this sub par experience. Probably more worth it for families but not if you’re single looking for premiere gym experience. Also agree with other member reviews that there’s often kids where they shouldn’t be - in hot tub, cold plunge, training floor etc. and sometimes opposite sex I also saw in women’s locker room. I just cancelled the membership after the last poor staff experience. I’m not forking over any more money to this lifetime.

We’ve been members for two years & stayed, despite moving out of town for so long bc of the amazing customer service! We felt like family & could shout out dozens of names. I’ve enjoyed the large variety of class options, pickleball courts, the inside & out swimming, then all the fun stuff other than working out…. Cold plunge, jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, massage / cryo chairs… list goes on!!! We have been missing living far away & wanted to make sure they received a 5 star review to know they make differences in their members lives. Not all LT’s are this tight knit & service oriented! Thank you for some of my best memories, since having my daughter 🫶🏻

We had a birthday party for our daughter, the rock climbing activity. Not only the kids had so much fun, we had fun and could relax and enjoy the party. They took care of everything, super nice and kind staff. Everything was planned perfectly! Mercedes is amazing, I had zero anxiety both planning the party with her and at the location. She is a true leader.
Other than the birthday party, we are so happy with the gym quality, pool quality, swimming lessons and the quality of care they provide for children.

Ok club but the lap pool is filthy. Most aquatic facilities have a pool service or staff who knows about pool chemicals and how to clean a pool but this club appears not to have that. The pool is cloudy, tastes bad and is just consistently dirty. I did hear back from corporate and they said the pool is fine and that maybe it's the lighting. I don't think bad lighting can cause a skin rash. The outdoor pool tastes salty although it's not a saltwater pool. This club is not close to being a "country club."

Definitely overpriced membership for the gym equipment and amenities being provided. It’s normally usually crowded and doesn’t have enough of the same isolation machines so I normally would have to wait on people. I recently switched to fitness connection on lakeline and I am loving it so much and paying less with much more access to better gym equipment and more space. Lifetime has to do better!

Went here for a year but it doesn't seem worth the price. The staff is mostly okay & I like the amenities I rarely use.
I've noticed most of the trainers are kinda rude on the floor. Probably because your clients could learn more from watching me for free than spending an hour with you.
Maybe it's my RBF. I thought being stuck up is what we do here, judging by the other clientele.
I pay too much to be treated as if I'm taking up too much space, something the unaware geriatrics around here do too well. Maybe it's the gym, maybe I just hate people. Do better.

was a member for 17 years ... 1st the facility is excellent ... clean... and they fix most broken machines fairly quickly ..
Overpriced ... all about optics .all about trendy perks ( hydro massage couches you can never use because too many members) fancy Inbody scales ...Management: double negative -5 stars . My experience communication.. Current ( last 2 years ) Manager is a Karen .. tries to regulate your life to his /her views . Used my foot ( lite tap) to activate auto door as they are wayyyy too heavy... to open.... for me without pain ( torn rotator cuffs) ... as well as covered in germs provided by the 100s of snotty nose kids I have personally seen coughing... wiping their noses then wiping their hands all over the button ......she/him turned me into corporate who threatened to revoke my membership while providing an "our way or the highway" threat .. In addition, I was reported to corporate for not bussing my table in the Life Cafe Consolidated my trash but did not bus the table NO POSTED SIGN STATING TABLES TO BE SELF BUSSED and a chicken sandwich and coffee $ 19.00... ccard only ... again I was threatened with membership revocation .. so buyer beware ... conform as a lemming would... or be banned ..17 years of revenue trashed ... with no incidents other than those mentioned which are so ridiculous for a corporate entity to worry about and an elapsed time of incident... less than 120 seconds a week I'm of to Golds where a sense of community has already been kindly displayed and extended

I’ve been a member of Lifetime Fitness, paying over $200 a month, but it’s becoming increasingly hard to justify the cost.
Pool Access: The lap pool is constantly reserved for kids' lessons during peak hours (5 PM to 7:30 PM) when most members come after work. On weekends (Saturday and Sunday), the pool was reserved from 8 AM to 4 PM — essentially the entire day! Why am I paying for amenities I can’t use?
Equipment Issues: A lot of equipment is out of service, and repairs take far too long. For a gym branded as "premium," this is unacceptable.
Children Everywhere: I understand being family-friendly, but kids under 12 are running around in areas they shouldn’t be, like the dry sauna. It’s distracting and against basic policies for safety and comfort.
Café Service: The café stops serving coffee after 5:30 PM because the machines are being cleaned, even though it’s open until 9 PM. This policy is absurd and just another example of poor management.
Lifetime Fitness markets itself as a premium facility, but lately, it feels more like a daycare center with broken equipment. For the price we’re paying, members deserve better.

So they bump the price up again but don’t offer anything new at all.
1. Gym is overcrowded quite often, how many memberships do you sell?
2. Not once I’ve seen water slide working this year
3. Dry sauna is always overcrowded, looks old and dirty
4. Pool is always reserved during peak hours. You guys charge us this crazy membership price, but use facilities and equipment for your group sessions you charge even extra for? Insane and messed up
5. Locker rooms and many indoor interior parts are dated, it’s 2024 and you charge these premium prices, make it look premium at least and not like an old middle school gym
6. Oh… and the smell is something

I have been a member here for about a year. Unfortunately, I will never be able to rank this gym highly until it stops allowing men inside the women’s locker rooms. and every one of their employees who thinks that women’s privacy and safety doesn’t matter.

It has recently gotten much worse. Between my disabled daughter being rushed out of the showers as if she was being bounced out of a bar, to the reason of her being late the poor management of the gym necessitating her to stumble dangerously between three showers to find one with a working conditier pump. And the disrespectful way guests are treated considering the amazingly high prices. I am not surprised so many others are leaving.
....
Sadly, recently the club has started to go downhill. Reduction of hours on weekends, closing the showers for two weeks to only have them reopened looking just as outdated and ugly, to not allowing access to the ADA showers for changing to people with disabilities.

Although this location is a pretty facility, this has been my worst gym experience so far. I would NOT recommend joining this lifetime or getting a membership. Since joining, I was disappointed in my favorite yoga class the Ashtanga as the teacher doesn’t really lead you thru the entire flow she just gets quiet while saying “it’s your practice, do what you can” but I want to be lead thru entirely. Even worse and the most severe reason for my suggesting NOT TO GO here, I contracted ringworm from this facility. It came from their “clean” mats which apparently ARE NOT CLEAN WHEN YOU USE THEM. I’ve joined many gyms and taken many yoga classes and have NEVER ever EVER gotten a fungal bacteria that required me to get a prescription. Their mats are disgusting and I’ve been waiting over a week for management to contact me about this and refund me for the month of June as I am cancelling my membership due to this. I’d recommend not going to this Lifetime location.

Update: I learned we are ALL paying $30/year for the magazine that everyone throws away. It’s true, check your transaction history or ask the front desk. It’s a sneaky clause in the membership agreement. We pay $159/month and they just really wanted that extra two dollars.
If you’re on a diet, the cardio area is pretty much unusable because it smells like a firehouse subs due to the cafe😩
Also no fans anywhere on site so this place gets toasty as hell.

I enjoy this Life Time and its amenities, classes and more! The space and the atmosphere can't be beat as you are always able to come in with friendly faces greeting you, the fact that my gym bag is lighter because towels, shampoo, conditioner, razors and more are available is always a plus.
The childcare alone always is a gem, and working space for taking meetings or focusing to study is a zen space. I also love the cafe they have for a cup of coffee, a protein shake or healthy eats for my family and myself! It is a bit pricy, but we are always happy with the quality of care the staff and interactions we have with everyone at LT. I love the classes, instructors and during the summer especially my kid loves the outdoor pool which is a swell oasis in our Texas heat!
Finally, the hot tubs, steam rooms and saunas are always nicely maintained. I can highly recommend this as a fun family place, and always bring family friends on our guest pass to see and drop off kiddos for some good focus time since the childcare is the gem of why we continue our LT membership!

He was able to loosen up my right leg and for the first time, in over a year, I was able to get out of my vehicle and not have pain run up my leg! UPDATE: Since leaving a bad review and speaking to a few members of concierge and management they have addressed many of the issues. Hopefully this is not just a temporary change in addressing issues and is sustained moving forward. I have updated the review from 1 star to 3 star for time being.
INITIAL REVIEW: One of the worst Lifetime’s I have been too. From the outdated equipment to the overall bad cleanliness of the club this by far has been my worst experience and I have been a member for almost 17 years! When you bring up concerns to the staff they act as if it’s not of importance. Locker rooms are dirty, majority of equipment is dirty. Sad to see such an “expensive” gym go so down hill. The prices continue to go up and the quality and overall experience continue to decline at a fast rate! This is coming from a “die-hard” lifetime member and former trainer who has seen every level of management at Lifetime gyms!

I'm giving 4 stars because the front desk staff is so awesome, and they fixed the sauna which is great and it's always at a good hot temperature.
That being said, it is absolutely not ok how a couple staff members, not sure what there called, housekeeping, operations or whatever will talk to you and some of the comments they make. You just can't talk to people like that. Condescending, sarcastic, rude, bossy, seriously how do these guys work there?
The tone they talk to people needs to be addressed. That being said, there's a couple of them that are awesome. I feel like it should be easy to know which ones are which

Great facilities. Semi-shady membership policy.
Whenever you request to cancel a month-to-month plan, they only process the cancelation 30 days later. So, you're essentially being punished for failing to remember the fine print in the membership contract.
I understand that gyms make money off people who don't use the facilities, but this seems punitive. In the chaos of moving cities, one of the last things I'm thinking about is canceling my gym membership thirty days in advance. Now Lifetime has $130 of my money for services I can't use.

South location is so much better it is crazy. This one has a lot less equipment and it is like they never turn on the air. Literally so humid and no airflow, almost like working out in the swamps of Florida. I'd probably like that more though, less people standing around in the way down there. For the price this gym is absolute garbage. If you don't really lift and just want a social club, this is definitely the place for you

Honest review here. Overall I find it to be overpriced and an underwhelming experience.
I went in with high hopes. Lifetimes are supposed to be nice clubs — maybe not Equinox quality, but definitely a step above the rest. And the prices reflect that — $200/month (including tax!) is not cheap! However, what I found is an outdated club clearly showing its age. The men’s locker room had pools of water everywhere, the furniture was torn and outdated, towels strewn all over the floor, and dirty shower curtains. I was also disappointed to learn that the sauna and jacuzzi are shared by all members rather than unique to each locker room (not a big deal, but standard at other gyms). Some of the group fitness areas are also in the middle of the weight floors, and while classes are going on it is loud and chaotic.
I am giving three stars due to the range of facilities here. There are spaces for a multitude of sports (even climbing) and a great variety of class schedules, including hot yoga which is rare at gyms.

Love this gym! But specifically this location... My kids love the kids academy. Staff is nice, facility is clean and not too crowded, everyone friendly and accommodating to me and my 3 children. My oldest has autism and he is still accepted here.. giving me the time I need to get my classes and workouts done 5 days a week! Having a gym like this means a lot for a solo parent!

The front desk woman at night is incredibly rude. I generally go to the lifetime south mopac and my experience with staff/management is very cordial. I was leaving 15 minutes after you closed on saturday evening as i forgot you closed an hr early. Walking out the door she thought it was a good idea to tell me in an incredibly rude and condescending tone “we have a 5 minute grace period policy after closing” i also usually sit in my car checking messages before i leave, i just happened to park next to her in my black camry and it looked like she saw me and took a picture of my license plate or atleast looked like she did which was very strange. Ive already been on the fence about whether i wanna stay at lifetime after losing a basketball court to pickleball and various other issues that keep arising so that experience didnt help. We pay alot of money we shouldnt be hurried out the door. Do resteraunts start nagging customer to finish their meals when they close? The gym closes at 11 on the weekends, i get there with less than an hr to work out after work. Im going to work out until it closes and shower like i always have. Please address this

On Sundays they open at 5am but the air is not “scheduled to kick in until 5:30.” This is a gym, we sweat, however this is not your garage style gym. We pay a pretty penny for this style of gym. Mmgt, please correct this. Same when you open during the week at 4am…

Absolutely love working out here, I used to go to lifetime in Minnesota, this location looks exactly like the one in Chanhassan and I was at home! Clean, spacious space, great group lessons and great instructors.
My only feedback is to consistently clean the bathroom floors , shower areas as they are not always clean. I have gone at different timings but sometimes it’s just a little slippery. Love their pool and the hot tub too!

If you're expecting good customer service and to be treated nicely, go somewhere else.
I drove there with my wife and baby this afternoon to tour their amenities since we're highly interested in becoming members. The front desk lady denied a tour, saying we could only do it by appointment.
She wasn't rude; however, didn't make absolutely any effort to briefly show us around, like if they were not actually interested in new members. It could be because we're modestly dressed and not very "worthy" of the select club. Disappointing first impression.

I was considering getting a membership here after a friend gave me her guest pass… However, I left my water bottle in the locker room and guest services would not confirm over the phone if they had the water bottle. Today, I finally had the time to come in person to retrieve it, only for Gia at the front desk to tell me to “look at your local donation place” because they just donated everything in their lost and found. Yikes. Def left a bad taste in my mouth and will not be returning.

1) gym equipment: 10/10. Absolutely everything you need. No shortage of dumbbells, machines, nor anything else.
2) amenities: 20/10. I drive 30 minutes OUT OF MY WAY to come to this lifetime instead of the one in south Austin. Why? Because they put eucalyptus in the steam Dayana and it feels absolutely AMAZING. Walking out feeling like a new man. According to popular neuroscientist Dr. Andrew Huberman, this is ideal. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR KEEPING YOUR SAUNA LIKE THIS.
3) customer service: 10/10. Employees are helpful, friendly, and professional. Specifically, a young woman named “Victoria” particularly exuded all of these qualities and more. As a former manager in retail, I can speak from experience that she exhibits elite customer-service skills. Made me feel warm and welcomed and valued. Definitely the character that is promotable and that you want representing your business. Additionally, the manager Joanne also exuded these characteristics.
Overall, 1000% satisfied customer. Absolutely no complaints. 10/10 everything. 5 stars. Come to this gym. You’ll have everything you need and won’t regret it.

We really enjoy the club! Great atmosphere, no judgement and a ton if options for your workout. Only thing I WILLsay is they are kinda falling down when it comes to cleanliness lately. Not sure what has changed, but treadmills look like people are walking on them with the shies they cleaned a barn with. For the price we pay for this club I have higher expectations, but the staff is nice enough!

Great amenities, lots of strength training equipment. I especially love the rows of power racks in the center of the gym floor as well as the racks in the back corner. I'm a weightlifter who does lots of cleans, snatch, deadlifts, back and front squats so being able to grab a rack and knock out half (or more) of my workout is great! My only gripes are that they don't have a neck-strengthening machine and the main lifts (especially bench press) can get crowded and you have to hover over them to grab a bench the moment it becomes available.
Oh forgot to mention, I really which there was a setup for wall ball slam sit-up throws and for med ball backwards throws.
Other than that, great, clean facility with indoor and outdoor heated pools and water slides, large hot tubs, wet and dry sauna options, Basketball, Racquetball, Pickle Ball, Rock Climbing, Yoga, Pilates, and classes galore with something for everyone. All-in-all an excellent gym.

Lifetime Fitness is the best club to be a member of. Every friend I've shared the experience with has wanted membership here.
There is no other gym like this one.
At first it's a little intimidating there is alot going on but once you get up the courage to go more than once a week you find that you make friends and then you see the body improvements that makes you excited to keep going
I used to be a couch potato soft and content with myself
Now I'm lean stronger than ever and when my wife hugs me I am solid in all the right places couldn't be happier with my new lifestyle at Lifetime Fitness

This is my home gym and there are so many things I truly love and appreciate about it. There are a number of quality staff members but you also have some that as a member you know more about operations than they do, and this can be frustrating. Additionally, often the services that come at a premium price are not available.. This morning it' was another day of the steam room OFF, or never turned on. When they went through recent upgrades it was well done but not very well communicated. The cafe area can be hit or miss
I hope they can make improvements on not what they offer but HOW they execute on the services.

I have been a member for +8 years. By far, it's the best you will get around this area. I wouldn't say it feels premium, but the place is clean, well-maintained, and has tons of equipment.
The group classes (CrossFit and boot camp style) are very loud, so if you want to work peacefully, definitely avoid going when classes are going on.

Love this gym! It's never too crowded, nor do they have those annoying stalker guys that come in just for eye candy. This place is always clean and fully stocked. The Kids Academy is a fun place for my girls to get a workout or have some activity while I work out. This place is huge, and it's like a mini getaway with their amazing pools, jacuzzi, cafe, and other amenities. I highly recommend it. You pay for what you get 😉.
