I’ve really enjoyed my experience at Life Time Fitness. The facility is clean, spacious, and has just about every piece of equipment you could ever need. The staff is friendly and the overall vibe feels motivating without being overwhelming. One thing I really appreciate is how many events and activities they offer for families. It’s not just a gym, it’s a place where you can actually bring your kids and do things together. The classes, the pool area, and the community feel make it stand out. Definitely one of the best fitness centers I’ve been to.

I’m a Founding Member at Life Time Frisco - a member for years - and I’m disappointed with how the club handled a very simple request. One of the TVs (TV13) originally displayed Fox Business, then it was removed without explanation. I asked the Concierge Team to put it back on — just one TV out of the 30+ in the gym — and I emailed them over a week ago. I still haven’t received any reply.

For a club with premium dues, basic communication and consistency should not be this difficult. Ignoring a reasonable member request and an email is not the level of service I expect. I hope management will address this promptly.

Life Time Gym is truly one of the best fitness centers I’ve ever been a part of. The facilities are always spotless, spacious, and equipped with top-of-the-line machines. What really stands out is the variety—whether you’re into weight training, swimming, yoga, or group classes, there’s something for everyone.

The staff and trainers are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help. I’ve learned so much from their classes and appreciate how motivating they are without being pushy. The locker rooms and spa areas are also a huge plus—clean, modern, and relaxing after a tough workout.

I have been to this gym 2 or 3 times and it is a clean and well equipped gym.

Plenty of parking available and very safe area.

I believe what makes this gym exceptional is the director of the facility Cory. Since my interaction with him, I have heard so many positive things about him from several other members from other clubs.

I think corporate should use someone like Cory to train other managers and directors at other clubs.

Absolutely recommend this location

Huge shoutout to Dr. Sam - She is the BEST! I can actually move my neck and do things with my left arm that I thought I would never be able to do again. There’s no scary cracking, and the treatment feels great! Bonus: She really listens and truly wants to help you do the things you want to do, which is so awesome. Highly recommend!!

This is so much more than a Gym… the price is a fraction of what you get in return. Staff is outstanding and the standard of hospitality is much appreciated. Also, Courtney that oversees the club is outstanding!

A gym clearly designed by someone who believes HIIT classes are the most important aspect of the gym. The actual weight lifting area is cluttered and without much diversity compared to gyms as cheap as Texas family fitness. This is the perfect gym for the gym goer that wants 60% of everything. The staff seems great, but I’ve never seen a lifetime with such weight racking issues since LA Fitness 10 years ago. This could be the actual clientele at the gym, but it is depressing to have that level of clutter and the average client (or unattended high schooler) leaving their weights all over and weight trees that would make a person with OCD run to the parking lot. At the rising price point I believe new gyms like absolute recomp coming on December to take away a lot of the serious lifters. This gym is a window shopping g experience for the casual gym goer. The more advanced and focused gym goer will see what I see. A gym lacking identity and not intending to have one as well as the average client over paying for amenities they will never use. I’ve been with lifetime Dallas for 6 years and what kept me there was the smart design and the community and leadership of the GM. This is a playground lacking any long term value to anyone who prioritizes fitness. I’ll be leaving in December and RIP to my $200 transfer fee. I’ll stick to the country club and AR when it arrives.

They don’t adequately supervise/care for kids in kids care. It has gotten out of hand, especially Saturday mornings where there are hundreds of kids and only a few staff members.

Also the gym is very overpriced for the amount of strength training equipment you get, Frisco athletic center is 1/5th the price for a family of 4 and is never as crowded

Not worth the price for awful management

It’s a really nice, high-end gym and it’s usually super clean, so I do enjoy working out here. But the membership price keeps going up and it’s starting to get a bit ridiculous. The weight room is also pretty small for the size of the place, so on busy days it can be hard to get a machine. I really wish they’d expand it — it would make such a difference. That said, if you’re mainly there for the classes, they definitely make space for those.

Good facilities, class schedule and amenities! But poor rule enforcement. Seeing dozens of people in Sandals or Barefoot on the workout floor makes it feel like I’m back in college working out at the Rec Room.

Lifetime is very expensive compared to other options in the area; would be nice to feel the extra price leads to a elevated gym experience.

Worst gym layout I’ve ever seen. Lack of decent machines. The rest crammed into each other and confusing to navigate around. Bad cardio layout. My friend describes the gym as a dungeon and depressing . No real stretching area. For anyone serious about working out this is not for you. The yoga room/classes were good. Cheap products used in locker room. Body wash is like slime. The Price point is for a high end gym. Not this

Joined because of outdoor pool; but staff leaves dirt, leaves, band aids, trash in bottom of lap pool for entire week. Never use the strainer, apparently it's barely vacuumed. And recently, we have a bunch of ladies in full religious wear in the pool...full clothing on head to toe like it's a laundry service and bath house. Totally disgusting to swim in their layers of sweat and body juices walking around in TX heat in 5 layers of clothing. Wearing full burqa, hijab and layers of clothing as if that's what we want to be swimming in. They need a policy of "Actual swim wear only" ...the place is over run now. It's a nice building, but not a high class place.
Not to mention the pool is now some sort of beach club every weekend so it's full of people running around. Which is fine, having fun is good and the lifeguards have been better about kidding the kids out of the lap lanes when people trying to actually use the place as a gym. But it's not something I'm going to keep paying $200/month for.

I have been here before multiple times and no one has said anything. I am not originally from here so I obviously pay the price for my hometown lifetime but when I came in today, the guy with the blonde hair and glasses at the front desk stopped me and told me I had to pay $269 to use this gym. Are you kidding me? I have been here using this same membership as before exactly 1 year from today and never had an issue getting in and out. Now, they supposedly are the “highest priced gym in the area.” That $12 an hour job does not pay you enough to be acting like that. I mentioned that I am from out of state and never had an issue using this before and they didn’t seem to care even though i’ve used this gym multiple times in the past. You guys are not Equinox.

Staff I've met is friendly and engaging. Clean. Morning and evening scents are both really nice. The showers have the rain shower AND regular shower heads. (I travel and others don’t have that). Enough private stalls that I can always find one. Plenty of Pickleball courts and Alpha racks. Some teenager stole all of my husbands cards and his shoes from the basketball court and took off running.

Allegedly, no one knew who he was and the teen was there using someone’s guest pass. The other teen he was with alleged that he didn’t know who he was.

It’s a shame that these young people are allowed to get away with things like this. The teen population, as a whole, at that gym, is getting out of hand.

I would expect better out of this location and something quickly to be done about it.
For over 200$ a month, I would like to go to a gym hoping my items would not be stolen and I am safe from things like this.

We are founding members at this gym and have been loving the operating hours but that’s about it. Unless you want to attend for 1 of the many class options, basically this GYM sucks (if you are a gym rat). They keep taking away actual work out areas to create more places for classes. The spacial configuration is mind boggling like the person in charge has never managed a gym before. Did I mention many of the classes are in the open space areas and all blast their own music?! For how much you pay (and try to raise fees multiple times a year) customers deserve better. The creepy men they allow with tripods filming don’t help 🫠 I will say that everyone that works here has been friendly!

I signed up as a founding member of this facility and I’ve just been so unimpressed as the years have gone by - they have oversold this facility but management will reply that they just have a high number of people who show up to the gym. With that logic, you oversold and should have seen the trends before continuing to sell memberships. This facility is so loud, between trainers screaming with 3 classes at a time and the music played for the facility and all 3 classes, my $609 noise cancelling headphones can’t complete.

The staff overall are pretty nice but the facility is just so chaotic and dirty. I wouldn’t recommend this facility to my worse enemy.

Clean, machines are always functional, great amenities, nobody is filming or blaring music out of their speakers on their phones.

Personal training is fantastic - while not inexpensive, you absolutely get your moneys worth. (Angela and AJ are great to work with!)

Classes are a great variety - coaches like Amy and Melissa who do the cycling and strength classes push you without demeaning you - it’s so much better to be encouraged than shamed.

In the summertime the pool is clean and well-maintained, it’s a really easy-going atmosphere for training and relaxation.

There is a waitlist, but get on it - it’s worth it .

While the gym is clean and the staff is excellent, I am deeply disappointed by the monopolization of pickleball courts for paid leagues. After paying substantial membership fees primarily for pickleball access, it’s frustrating that these leagues dominate the courts during peak times, leaving little availability for other paying members. Hosting leagues is fine, but not at the expense of those who joined specifically for pickleball. A more balanced approach is needed to accommodate everyone.

As a former Founders Club member at Lifetime Frisco, I am extremely disappointed with Lifetime's experience despite the facility's attractive features, such as its proximity to home, modern amenities, and diverse offerings. Here are a few reasons for giving this two-stars (which would have been 1-star if not for the modern build and large cardio area):

1) Traffic congestion: Exiting the parking lot during peak hours proved to be extremely time-consuming due to limited lane capacity.
2) Long wait times: Popular machines were often overcrowded, disrupting workout routines and forcing users to either skip exercises or modify their plans.
3) Poor cleanliness and etiquette: The main workout area suffered from a lack of cleanliness and basic gym etiquette, particularly in regard to restacking weights.
4) Overcrowding: The persistent overcrowding issue suggested mis-pricing, with the cost for a two-person membership being the same as that for a seven-person family.

Overall, Lifetime Frisco was not an acceptable gym experience due to these factors, which significantly affected our ability to enjoy the club. I strongly recommend any prospective members to visit during their typical workout times, particularly during peak hours, to gain a realistic understanding of the environment.

Lifetime Fitness is a big BUSINESS SCAM.

I am devastated to share that I lost my 36-year-old husband at Lifetime Fitness in Frisco on August 23rd, 2024. Since then, I have been trying to get access to the gym's footage to understand what exactly happened, but there has been no cooperation from the fitness center.

It is my humble request to the members or staff who has seen my husband in the helpless condition in the locker room to connect with me to provide me with some closure. I just want to know what happened to him all of a sudden in the locker room. Thank you

Initially, they responded to my calls and voicemails, but now they've completely stopped. I've also visited the gym in person to request the footage, but there was no response. It's disheartening to see that a business like Lifetime Fitness, which charges high membership fees, lacks empathy and fails to assist its members in times of need. They seem to care more about making money than ensuring the safety and well-being of their members.

I'm simply asking for transparency and assistance in understanding what happened, but they've been unresponsive and unhelpful. This experience has been incredibly distressing, and I want others to be aware of how they handle such serious situations.

I've been a member of Lifetime for almost two years now, and until recently, I was thoroughly satisfied with the facilities and services provided. However, the recent changes have left me and many other members feeling disappointed and frustrated.

The increase in membership fees seems unreasonable and unjustified. While I understand that operational costs can rise, the steep hike feels like a blatant money grab, especially given the lack of any substantial improvements to the facilities or services. It feels as though the gym is prioritizing profit over the well-being and satisfaction of its loyal members.

Moreover, the reduction in outdoor pickleball court hours is a significant drawback. Many of us joined LT specifically for the excellent outdoor facilities. The new limited hours make it difficult for those of us with busy schedules to find a suitable time to use the pickleball courts, diminishing one of the key benefits of our membership.

These changes have not only impacted my experience but have also affected the overall atmosphere of the gym. There’s a noticeable drop in member morale, and the sense of community that once made this place special is eroding.

I hope the management takes the feedback from its members seriously and reconsiders these decisions. A gym should be a place where people feel motivated and valued, not taken advantage of. Until then, I’m left contemplating whether to continue my membership or look for alternatives that offer better value and respect for their members.

Updated:

After multiple complaints, the gym’s management has extended the pickleball hours. The new schedule offers more flexibility, making it easier for enthusiasts to play. Kudos to the manager for listening to feedback and making this positive change. The additional hours have made a significant difference, and the courts are now more accessible for everyone.

We've been members of Lifetime Fitness for several years in Minneapolis, and became founding members here as a result of that great experience. However, recent changes have significantly impacted our experience.

Firstly, the monthly membership fee, which is already quite substantial, now seems even more burdensome with the introduction of additional charges. Courts that were once freely available for members are now often booked for paid leagues, limiting access - that too during peak hours in the evening. Additionally, a paid reservation system for pool areas has been implemented, adding another layer of inconvenience and expense.

Moreover, the super loud music in the main workout area has made exercising a hassle unless you are in one of their classes—preferably their paid classes. This has created a rather uncomfortable environment for those of us who prefer a slightly quieter workout session.

These changes feel like nickel-and-diming, detracting from the overall value that Lifetime Fitness once provided. While I understand the need for the gym to maintain its financial health, these incremental costs and changes are disappointing and frustrating. They undermine the inclusive, community-oriented experience that initially attracted many of us.

Did I say that they also increased the dues by 20%?

I hope Lifetime Fitness reconsiders these policies to strike a better balance between financial goals and member satisfaction. Returning to a model that prioritizes accessibility, value, and a comfortable workout environment would greatly enhance the member experience.

Rating: 2/5

Pros:
Comprehensive facilities
Clean and well-maintained

Cons:
High membership fees
Additional charges for court and pool reservations
Reduced availability of facilities
Loud music in main workout areas
Would I recommend it? Not under the current pricing and reservation policies.

Feedback to Management: Please consider reverting to a model that doesn't impose additional charges on top of high membership fees and reduce the loud music in the main workout areas. This would greatly improve member satisfaction and loyalty.

Been going here for a while and have been enjoying the amenities. Save for absolute peak times there's always enough power racks available. To my eye everything seems clean. There's plenty of wipe canisters around to use too.

I've been a member at Life Time Fitness in Frisco for about two weeks now, and I am thoroughly impressed! The facility is impeccably clean and well-maintained, making every workout session refreshing. What really sets this gym apart are the unique amenities it offers, such as the Life Cafe and Life Spa, which you don't typically find at other gyms. These additions make it so convenient to grab a healthy bite or unwind with a spa treatment after a tough workout. Highly recommend to anyone looking to enhance their fitness journey in a luxurious setting!

I have never felt discriminated as I did yesterday going for my workout. I was stopped at the door because I was not supposed to be using the gym at that time of the day. We just came back from vacation of two weeks. We had a lot of other things to do before working out. We usually like to go in before 3pm because it really gets crowded starting at that time. I was told to step to the side and wait for someone to talk to. Now get this, it is both my husband and myself that go together, but I was the only one that was stopped. We use the same insurance, but when I was stopped he mentioned me being on that insurance. We both are in the same insurance. At the time I was waiting, there was someone else that was stopped for the same reason.
We like coming to work out at this gym, but just to let you know YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY GYM IN THE AREA.

They are increasing their prices AGAIN! I signed up to this location while they were building it. Obviously they are trying to make me drop out so they can get new members at their I’m sure unjustifiable fees. This is a warming for those thinking of joining. Their current fee doesn’t justify anything. Also, you have to pay extra for classes on top of the membership fee. This is outrageous and another example of pricing gouging.

Disappointing Experience at Lifetime Fitness Aquatics Program

After more than two years at Lifetime Fitness, particularly within their aquatics program, I feel compelled to share the disappointing experience my family and I endured, hoping it might serve as a cautionary tale for others.

Initially, we were drawn to the program with high hopes for my daughter’s swimming progress. Despite regular sessions and consistent attendance, we noticed a lack of improvement in her skills. Whenever I approached her coach for feedback, I was met with generic praise, being told she was doing “great.” However, this did not align with the lack of observable progress.

The situation escalated when I pressed for a more detailed explanation regarding her stagnation. The coach suggested that my daughter would not improve unless we shifted to private lessons, a recommendation that came as both a surprise and a disappointment, considering the time and financial investment we had already committed.

Seeking resolution, I turned to the aquatics manager, only to be met with a lack of support. His indifference culminated in suggesting that if I was dissatisfied, terminating our membership was the best course of action. This response was both shocking and unacceptable, showcasing a profound lack of customer service and care.

Moreover, administrative issues compounded our frustration. On three separate occasions during the summer months, I discovered that we were being double charged. Despite raising this issue and expecting a refund or at least an acknowledgment of the error, the response was underwhelming. My complaints were seemingly ignored, and no refund was issued. Attempts to escalate the matter to the branch manager, Kendall, were futile; despite leaving multiple voice messages, I never received a call back.

In summary, our experience with Lifetime Fitness and its aquatics program was marked by poor communication, lackluster customer service, and administrative negligence. It’s disheartening to realize that an institution we trusted not only failed to support our daughter’s development but also showed a blatant disregard for fair and transparent billing practices. I hope this review serves as a warning to others to carefully consider their options before committing to a program that may not live up to its promises.

Weird, all their old fossil locations that need to be brought into the modern age are cheaper than this location and have availability. But not worth the price.

This location is a mile away from me but triple the price of other locations. Meaning all charges considered it’s a wash. You don’t save any money regardless of location.

The older locations have lower ratings on Google this location with a few other newer location have higher ratings but much higher prices and a waitlist.

I have to drive out 30 miles round trip daily just to go to different locations when this one is just a mile away.

Common trend I see for life time reviews is this. Rocketing prices and decline in quality and experience.

Back in 2008 they where the example gym for all other gyms. But over time they became just as horrible as the other gyms.

Corporate really needs to dig back to their roots of 2008 and go back to being the gym they used to be.

At one point they were 24 hours. And this was the highest quality of the gym in my view. They consistently maintained quality and experience. And today all this is gone.

They reply to reviews saying they have opportunities to improve and say they will look to fix the problem but they don’t.

Simple ban phone cameras from common workout areas. Others shouldn’t be forcibly filmed against their will it’s not a recording studio it’s a gym.

Maintain a consistent cleaning schedule where routinely throughout the day we can see you all cleaning the place up.

Stop increasing the darn price if your quality keeps tanking

Take care of your buildings. Burnt lights, rust, mold, and broken handles don’t look good for a gym that charges so much money.

And if you brought back 24 hours this would be gold. But I know you won’t.

If you made this far, don’t consider this specific gym unless you’re rich. And have money to set fire to and burn away.

Chose one or the other locations that has everything thing gym does at a lesser price.

Life time need to come back to reality.

Visiting this place was disappointing. The main issues were overcrowded and lack of parking space. On top of that, the staff were extremely rude, which didn't help the overall experience. The management of the pickleball courts was another letdown. They seem to cater mostly to beginners, leading to the courts being constantly overrun and making it nearly impossible for more experienced players to enjoy a game. It's no surprise that the higher-level players have decided to avoid this place.

My husband and I came in on the afternoon of 12/8 (around 2pm). We asked to do a tour of the facility with hopes of signing a membership. There were two employees working the front desk and we were told that tours must be scheduled in advance. We asked when the next availability was, which they told us would be the next day. This seemed odd with two employees present, but we agreed to the appointment for a tour. The employee then told us that even if we toured we’d be on a 4 - 6 week wait list to start a membership. What kind of gym has a waitlist??? Isn’t the business goal of gyms to sign as many people as possible with only about 20 - 30% actually coming in regularly? And wouldn’t you just follow fire Marshall guidelines if at some point the gym was full…I’m curious whether the owner is aware that the employees are actively advertising against new memberships.

After all that he asked if we wanted to talk pricing. Isn’t it a basic sales concept that you at least show the customer your product/service prior to talking price? I haven’t even had a chance to see what you have to offer.

This is not a good location for pickleball. Lorenzo has completely corrupted the league and bracket system. There hasn't been a league in 12 months that he has not manipulated or showed favoritism towards players or training clients especially. They refuse to use DUPR because it would not allow this manipulation. I've written several complaints over the period of six months and lifetime refuses to respond to any of them. I haven't met a single person who doesn't have a complaint there you can literally asked any person about the way it's managed and you'll never hear one good thing.

This is the worst experience for pickleball. Yes, there are several players, most of whom are very unsatisfied with the way Lorenzo and the GM run the leagues. There's corruption within their rating system and favoritism so it's impossible to get fair and transparent games.
More than a dozen complaints about this go unanswered. Literally, no replies.
Lifetime takes the fun out of pickleball with its cronyism and complete lack of professionalism and League set ups.
They don't use DUPER. They have deleted data and were forced to extend leagues and matches. This happened multiple times. I would not recommend joining this club for pickleball. It's an extremely frustrating experience for all who play.

I tried to cancel my membership when I moved from Frisco last year and I was told it was finished after filling out some form. I didn’t even notice that I was still being charged until months later, and 3 times more and they’ve been really unhelpful and would keep accepting payments despite my multiple attempts at cancellation. I’ve lost thousands of dollars bankrolling such an incredibly dishonest company. They won’t let you cancel and if they wanted to make it right they’d pay me back.

I really like this gym but i am considering cancelling as it’s always so packed. I use to be a member for the alliance Fort Worth location and I paid way less and got the same exact amenities and it was beautiful. What’s the point of me paying what I do if I can’t even workout anywhere in this gym? I have to drive to McKinney just to get a good workout. I don’t know if it’s worth it anymore I think I’m better off joining Gold’s gym at this point. I think the pricing needs to be reevaluated at this location because why am I paying $334 for two people if we can barely use any equipment.

Booked the tennis court here and no one told me about cannot bring my own tennis ball launcher until I asked if they could open the side gate up that will be easier for me to bring my tennis ball launcher to the court. The reason supervisor gave me were: it is their policy and they do have tennis ball launcher for rent, so they dont want to ppl to bring their own ones. That was so disappointing and such bad excuse. I never had issues with other locations, plano has both indoor and outdoor court, and they also have tennis ball launcher for rent out. They never care about ppl bring whatever to the court. I understand it’s your policy! Plz put the notes on the reservation page before ppl make reservations for the court!

I liked the Lifetime at Frisco just because of enormous activities and it provides a great way to engage kids during the summer break. However, we recently had an incident that one of the kids went away wearing my son’s new shoes and the management is not at all serious about finding it.
It is a petty thing for them and they expect the other kid to just come and return themselves.
I have also seen kids crying all the time unattended in the kids center which was never the case last year.
So it appears like the quality is going down while their subscription fee is going up.

Update: 7/5/23
I am glad that the Lifetime management take these reviews seriously so they called me up to amicably resolve my issues.
Since the other services are all great, I will change my review to 5 star.

Update: 7/20/2023
I will unfortunately have to change my review again due to the recent events at the Kids academy. I left the water bottle for my son and requested the people there to tell him so that he stays hydrated. They confirmed but still didn’t do that and my son stayed without water for a long time. It’s the exact same thing that happened when my son’s shoes were taken away by someone.
With all unattended crying kids and disconnected team at the kids academy, I don’t feel it’s the same great place as it used to be last year.

My response to the owner 7/19/23: I don't need to talk to you. I have talked to your staff multiple times at the club and they obviously do not listen. Just fix the issues! I was there yesterday and the outside pool was still disgusting. Is no one cleaning it anymore ... full of leaves and even trash? With my goggles on, I can see stuff floating in the water. It makes me really worry about the quality of the water. If you are not taking care of that, it can be very dangerous in this hot environment with bacteria. There was still a bunch of kids playing in the lap lanes instead of the main pool. Nothing seems to have changed at all whatsoever. You would think that you would want that fixed ASAP.

Original review:
Love the facility and amenities but the cleanliness has been trending towards gross here lately. The outside pool …. Especially the lap lanes …. Are always dirty. It used to be clean. I complained to the front desk on multiple occasions. Doesn’t help. Not sure what is happening but it’s a shame. This was a really great club. Also, they don’t scan in the members to the outside pool which I pay extra for. They also let the kids play in the lap pool and don’t police it whatsoever. Today I saw a couple making out in the lap pool with my young son taking it all in. It’s the details that will get this place back on track. Lifetime, pay attention !

I’ve been a member since the club opened last year and my overall experience has been great! The classes and instructors are great, there could be more fitness classes offered on fridays and weekends but it’s not a big deal. As the club’s been getting more popular, it’s been a lot more difficult to find a parking spot. There’s a lot of space around the club and I assume lifetime might grow into the space more and more but it would be great to have more parking spots (and maybe even some electric car chargers!)
