Yet again used to be a member of Life Time and they were supposed to pause my account and they didn’t for three months and I was charged and they never refunded it and I ended up Terminating my membership
I got contacted by one of their employees saying come back in and get back, signed up and told me to come in and get a workout in and then come see them afterwards to sign back up
I made it Krystal clear that I would come up there and get a workout Done before anything and when I got to the front desk, they told me it’s 75 bucks for a day pass and I can’t even pass through the front entry entryway
This is why I canceled on these people in the first place. I signed up at one location and then went to this location after being told my membership works everywhere and they’re like no our membership is a couple bucks more a month to be able to use this facility because it’s one of the upper end clubs
I’ll drop my one star review and take my lower class and go to the next best gym
Seven of us we’re going to work out together three times a week All six of my friend group people are canceling their membership and joining me elsewhere

Nathan Smith taught a workshop on stretching strategies. I would totally recommend him for personal training or dynamic stretch. He was super knowledgeable, kind and funny all at the same time. The stretches that he taught in this workshop have helped me prepare for both pickleball and any other workout class.
Update: 10/29/25: I just finished a personal Dynamic Stretch Trial with Carlos Lee. Like Nathan (above), Carlos was excellent, knowledgeable and a good listener and I would eagerly recommend him as well. Unlike the workshop above with Nathan where he taught you stretches in a small group that you can do on your own, this was a 1 on 1 stretching session--more like a physical therapy session where Carlos stretched you. Both are important and serve different purposes and needs.

I absolutely love the well-maintained and beautifully designed fitness center — it truly offers every fitness, wellness, and recovery activity you could imagine under one roof! From state-of-the-art workout equipment and group fitness classes to Pilates, Yoga, and Spa services, Life Time McKinney has it all. I especially enjoyed my complimentary stretching sessions with Nathan — a great way to experience their personalized approach to wellness. The outdoor pool, café, and recovery lounge add to the resort-like feel, making every visit something to look forward to.
The ambience here is so inspiring that I actually feel like going to the gym every day! It would be even better if one weekly Pilates session were included in the membership — that would truly complete the experience.

The staff here is awesome! I’ve been personal training with Blake for about a month and am already seeing a difference. I also had a stretching session with Nathan which was incredible!! Really pretty gym with a clean open feeling. Usually don’t need to wait for a machine.

I’ve been a member at this gym for over a month now and can say it’s definitely worth the price! The gym is always clean and there’s plenty of equipment and space to work out in which is typically not the case with most other gyms. The trainers and staff are exceptional as well- I had a dynamic stretch session with Nathan Smith who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful towards my recovery. Overall 10/10!

I really enjoy the atmosphere at Lifetime Fitness and the staff is very friendly. I also found a fabulous personal trainer there. Margaret (Meg) is amazing. She is fun to train with and has really helped me build strength and stamina. If you are looking for a personal trainer I highly recommend Meg!!

I initially was excited joining Life Time. The guy that helped me and gave me the tour was great and always friendly. I got a trainer and did some sessions and the workouts were good…but decided to stop after a while..it turned out I was being charged continually for training sessions which I never authorized or was contacted about with any follow up from the gym. I found out when I went to pause my acct and was told I had over $1000 maybe even closer to $1600 had been taken out of my acct unauthorized. Really offensive to me this happened and while they gave me my money back…why would I want to train somewhere that was taking money from me and acted like it was no big deal and a simple accident..but I’d have expected for the extra $1000 that was taken someone could have text or called me. Two stars is because the gym aesthetically was nice…regret the personal training and lack of client care.

This gym is super nice and clean. Nathan Smith the stretch guy is awesome! He helped me out a bunch.

Nathan Smith is a fantastic personal trainer. I highly recommend him. He is a top-notch professional trainer because he really focuses on the fine details and mechanics on how to lift and stretch to avoid injury. He makes you feel at ease while he is explaining and demonstrating the task. We were a husband/wife private group. He listened to our goals and provided a workout routine that accomplished our goals. To top it off, he is a wonderful person that truly cares about his clients. We are so blessed to have him help with our fitness journey.

I’ve been going to this location for about a year now and I can say this is now my favorite Lifetime in DFW. Special thanks to Brandon on staff who always welcomes me by name and helps with any concerns I may have. The great customer service really makes this location feel more personable. Facilities are always clean and never feels overcrowded.

I had an incredible 60-minute stretch session with Nathan at Lifetime Fitness, and it was exactly what my body needed. From head to toe, he worked through every tight muscle with expert care—incorporating massage techniques that helped melt away soreness from a tough leg workout earlier in the week and the shoulder tension that comes with sitting at a desk all day.
Nathan was professional, intuitive, and made the entire experience feel restorative and relaxing. If you’ve never been stretched out by a trained specialist, you’re missing out—this is absolutely the way to go. I left feeling looser, lighter, and ready to take on the week. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back!

I visited Life Time Fitness McKinney with a guest pass, excited to explore the facility and was 95% sure I’d join after seeing the campus. However, the experience was ruined by a staff member named Arthur on the pickleball court.
We were told by the front desk that the courts close at 11 PM, but around 9:15 PM, while still playing, Arthur barged in and aggressively told us we were “trespassing” and said he would “call the cops” on us. This was extremely unprofessional and unacceptable — especially for someone representing a premium fitness brand.
Life Time lost a potential member that day.

We visited Lifetime Fitness for the first time as guests through a friend’s membership and were genuinely considering signing up ourselves. The front desk told us we could play pickleball until 11 PM, but at 9 PM, a coach said it closed then — very confusing. Not knowing whom to follow clearly because there was miscommunication, we continued playing after 9pm.
At 9:30 PM, Arthur(claimed to be the supervisor) came over and aggressively threatened us, saying we were trespassing and that he would call the cops. We explained what the front desk told us, but he was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. We were ready to leave, but the way he spoke to us was shocking and disrespectful.
After this experience, we’ll definitely not be joining Lifetime, and I’ll be warning others to avoid it too. Not the kind of welcome anyone expects.

I canceled my membership last week because of Brandon, who is sometimes at the front desk and sometimes just walking around staring at people. I had simply asked him how much it would cost to add another member to my account, and his response was extremely rude and unprofessional. It honestly felt like he wanted me to cancel my membership and never come back—so I did. I ended up joining another gym.
Also, it’s incredibly humid due to the high ceilings and large windows. With everyone working out during the summer, it feels like being in a giant sunroom packed with over 100 people. The showers are always dirty, with hair everywhere. I really think they could’ve done a much better job overall.

I had a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this Life Time location. I walked in with the intention of simply purchasing a pre-workout from the café, not to use the gym or any other facilities. I made it very clear to the man at the front desk (Andre) that I am not a member and was only going to the café. Despite this, he insisted that I give him my phone number and signature in order to enter. I expressed my discomfort multiple times, yet he continued to push until I gave in, making the entire situation feel forced and unnecessary. It was extremely unprofessional and made me feel violated.
When I finally got to the café, I was told they don’t accept cash, and a staff member went to get a manager named Chase. When he arrived, his tone and attitude were condescending and dismissive as if I was a bother just for asking a question. I’ve never felt so unwelcome or poorly treated at a business before.
For a company that markets itself as a luxury health and wellness brand, this experience was anything but respectful or professional. I left feeling uncomfortable, disrespected, and disappointed. I hope Life Time addresses how their front desk and management staff are trained to treat all guests—members or not—with basic courtesy and respect.

What is going on here? I'm not quite ready to give an even lower score, but things here are NOT going in the right direction.
Barbell rack got moved half way across the gym to an area i personally never use. Why not invest in another one?
We're paying over $200.00 per month, which is TRIPLE the amount we paid back when it was Cooper and Craig Ranch Fitness.
Machines start feeling bumpy and are not well maintained.
Invest in a large free weight area. That's a bottleneck in any gym. These couple of benches are completely occupied even in non peak hours.
The highlight for me to even write this review is the fact that the food containers underwent "shrinkflation".
Prices went way up and you get a tiny quantity. Come on...$7.00 for a spoonful of anything is outrageous...
Very disappointed!
If things don't change, I'm out and I'm certain it won't be just me!

Been here since they opened, because I wanted to work out with my mom, but she doesn’t even feel comfortable going here anymore.
Started off loving this gym. But it has let me down so much in the past year that I’m starting to search for a new location.
Trainers don’t care about anything unless it’s a new girl they can flirt with. While they also practice above their qualifications and licenses (no cscs, no soft tissue certifications, etc.)
Their shirts saying DPT when they aren’t DPTs is one of the funniest things I see.
They have classes during peak gym hours 5-7:30 that take up all the squat racks and half of the treadmills in the facility, leaving everybody congested on the little bit of gym floor left.
Don’t be fooled by the wide open area in the middle. It’s practically useless. It’s used for people to mingle and trainers to flirt while all the real equipment is occupied when it’s needed most.
Oh. And watch out for pyramid scheme recruiters on the floor.

I’m not sure why some people had complaints about this location. I just visited, and my experience was great. The staff were very friendly, the gym was clean, and all the equipment looked to be in perfect condition. If anything changes, I’ll update my review, but my first impression was positive.

The filth from a lack of deep and proper cleaning is why I give this place 2-stars. You'll see sraff pushing a swiffer around primary walking paths but expect to always have dust bunnies and nasty loose hairs sticking to your body and shoes while you work out here. Otherwise, staff is friendly and the layout here is decent.

Lifetime MCK is a home away from home. Relaxing Locker rooms with a more private Jacuzzi experience than other lifetimes. Clean and available amenities in every space. lower foot traffic than other locations. Staff in Operations is dedicated to excellence and member experience so everything is always clean. Cody, Jocelyn, Erica, Mariana,James, Cassie,Aisha, Landon, Aaban,Arthur, Juan, Alexis, Matt, Ebonee, Hailey,Tan and literally everyone on that team are truly unsung heroes of this Location. are truly foundational in the experience here and I cant stress that enough. Concierge and cafe teams are always available and happy to assist with tours and a friendly greeting and goodbye as well as knowledgeable about classes, schedules, and spa services like Normatec and Hydromassage. Dr. Austin is an expert in his field in the Recovery area after a tough workout. Classes always have high energy and enthusiasm from Dance and movement studios, to intense and engaging cycle and gtx and alpha classes. The Personal trainers are knowledgable, friendly, and proffesional. Brandon, David, Blake, and Wacey are the best in the DFW at what they do from nutrition plans. Cafe always has great healthy food options, and Kids academy is always there and trusted for the services they offer also.
Studio teams always do so much to create programs that are fun and engaging for old and new members alike. Take a class and you definitely will not regret the results!
This place truly has it all. Not to mention a heated olympic sized pool offering swim classes for adults and kids. And a dedicated pickle ball staff ready to assist with pointers.
You could not look for a better gym and community than MCK.

I love the facilities!
The review is for the rude front desk lady.
I paused for membership for a month. The system change did not go into effect until 10.30 am, nor did it have a problem when I made a reservation for a yoga class this morning.
I went to the gym at 10:36am and noticed my access my paused. The Email went into effect just 6 mins before. Since it was just 6 mins, I asked her to make an exemption or atleast let me just pay prorated fee for a day. The black lady told me I need to pay 75$ to attend the class. No exceptions or extentions. How Ridiculous!

Can’t get a good workout in when trainers are flirting with their clients . They literally just stand at equipment and flirt the whole hour I’m at the gym . It’s not just one trainer . It’s all the male trainers there .
So uncomfortable. Can’t take these trainers seriously .
Canceling membership. This gym is not worth the price when machines are all broken .
You’d think they’d fix there machines with how much we pay for this gym .
I’m constantly having to change the machine I’m using cus it’s broken .
Not worth the price of membership . Been here for 2 years and finally gunna give it up . It’s only getting worse .

I do not recommend this place for anyone. Absolutely weird staff on the desk. I am living 3 mins from this place. I decided to buy the membership for myself and for my kid for tennis lessons. The woman on the reception was rude and unprofessional. She was explaining that this location doesn’t have tennis courts and I should buy full membership for myself in Plano to bring there my kid(for an additional price of course) . And if I don’t want to visit Plano for my general admission that’s my problem. I didn’t feel any intention to cooperation or any engagement, which is weird for place which positioning itself like more luxury class.1 star.

It’s really a nice gym, clean, has good equipments. And yes pricy when compared with others, But its worth. The only wrong thing i did was, taking a trainer - it was 2 sessions for a week, went good for 3 to 4 months, i had severe back pain and told her I can’t make it, despite of knowing my pain, she charged me for 1 whole month which was nearly $1000+ ( where i dint attend 1 sessions too). She literally SCAMED me.When i msged her she said she can offer me 1 free session. 😂.
TIP for new members- don’t save ur card, just pay monthly when you have a trainer.

There’s a lot to love about this Lifetime location but also a lot of issues. The equipment is nice and there are a lot of amenities. The staff is mostly friendly and I overall I enjoy working out here. The biggest issue I’ve noticed is the cleanliness/upkeep in the locker rooms. There are dirty towels frequently left in common areas that don’t get picked up . Disposable razors are left on the sinks and in the showers for multiple days at a time. Toilet area has had multiple stalls out of toilet paper on at least two days this week alone. It’s embarrassing that people can’t pick up after themselves but for the cost of membership one shouldn’t have to call out from a bathroom stall to have a stranger give them toilet paper!

I appreciate the positive aspects of this gym; however, I'd like to provide some feedback about my interactions with the front desk personnel during entry and exit. While I understand that personal interactions can vary, especially in customer service roles, my experience has been less than friendly. It seems that the welcoming and professional demeanor I expect may not be consistent across all staff members.
I believe that, regardless of personal connections, customer service in a gym setting should be universally friendly, polite, and professional. Clients come to the gym to focus on their workouts, and a positive atmosphere contributes significantly to their overall experience. I hope this feedback can contribute to maintaining a consistently welcoming environment for all clients, as it would enhance the overall atmosphere of the gym. Thank you for considering this perspective.

Having spent a decade living and working in London, I've grown accustomed to the high standards of luxury health clubs in the UK. Two years ago, when I relocated to Frisco, TX, I found myself longing for a health club that could rival my old haunt in Canary Wharf. That quest ended the moment I discovered Life Time McKinney at Craig Ranch.
Not only does it boast an expansive weight training area, a top-notch cycle spin studio, a refreshing outdoor pool, and splendid Pickleball courts, but its management and overall ambience stand out too. Every visit is punctuated by the warm, cheerful greetings from the staff, and I'm consistently impressed by the immaculate condition of their shower rooms, Jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room. One does wonder, how is this establishment run so efficiently?
The answer became clear when our company, on rather short notice, decided to host a customer appreciation Pickleball event at Life Time McKinney in late September 2023. Mr Jeff Mangan, the General Manager, along with his adept team, orchestrated the entire event for us. From securing the pickleball courts, paddles, and balls, to arranging the food, beverage, private dining room, guest passes, and tennis amenities – all were managed seamlessly within a mere two business days. Such a feat would've seemed impossible elsewhere, but Jeff, Erin, Tracey, and the concierge team made it look effortless.
I tip my hat to you all. The accolades we received from our customers were overwhelming. We eagerly anticipate our next event at this outstanding venue.
Cheers!

Gym is great. Some trainers here are questionable so be aware when they offer you free training session during sign-up. I've seen at least two personal trainers guiding their clients to snap city to destroy spine and discs

Gotta give this place 5 stars. It’s only been open six months now and I think it’s been a very smooth, well-run functioning gym since it opened.
1 star: Cleanliness of locker rooms: showers and bathrooms is cleaner than others I’ve been to. Haven’t closed down locker rooms for multiple days during the week like Allen does (cleaning/fixing broken showers and fire drills). Excellent sauna, steam room and whirlpool here.
1 star: Tons of natural light overlooking the outdoor Olympic pool. Most other gyms have zero natural light by the weight room.
1 star: Nice new exercise equipment everywhere and great lifetime cafe that also serves alcohol.
1 star: Great friendly staff and nice looking people/members at the gym.
1 star: Never too crowded and people that come here are mostly focused on getting a good workout in and keeping to themselves.

Nice facility but staff is rather rude. Have played many a pickleball tournament at various LifeTimes and this one wanted to charge FIFTY dollars for spectators to come watch. Absolutely outrageous, no other LifeTime has ever charged a single penny.

Great gym overall
Few things to improve
1. Clean better steam room and restroom floors
And have sealed again.
2. Stay open till 11pm so the late nighters don’t need to rush during peak hours
3. MUST ADD EUCALYPTUS COLD TOWEL STATIONS EVERYWHERE PLEASE!
4. Also, add water tanks infused with fruit and ice
When this happens I will come back and change to 5 stars
I run a cleaning company and can help you with cleaning staff (projects) if needed in the future - thanks !

This is what we all waited for? A gym that closes at 10pm/9pm and has broken down machines constantly under repair? This was the prized McKinney Craig Ranch location that advertised for months and months? Not worth it one bit. It is very weirdly set up and the parking lot needs lights!!! Who wants to park in that????

The facility is nice, but the staff are rude and unorganized. I have had issues with scheduled classes and spa appointments. I left the gym a few times because there was no space to join the overbooked class and after being denied the use of spa equipment. Staff have taken other people in appointment times I had scheduled, (Example: I had a 5:00 appointment, I check in at 5:00, they say someone is finishing soon, I wait, at 5:20, I am still waiting and the 5:20 appointment shows to check in, they take the 5:20 person and tell me to wait until they are finished). When I discussed this with staff in the moment, they did not care or do anything to resolve the problem. If one or two issues happen, no problem, that's just how it is sometimes, but nearly every time I schedule something here, class or spa, it's an issue.

I love this gym and it would be perfect if it weren't so difficult for me and my cane to get across that parking lot and into the gym itself. Yesterday, I got the last handicapped space available...they only have 6 and those are a good walk from the entrance while the parking near that entrance is for anyone and I am very rarely lucky enough to catch a spot there.

Agree with some of the members concerns about this facility. When I visited this facility during first week of their opening, I noticed some short comings and reported to the management for improvement. I specifically asked them to visit Lifetime Frisco and Colt their best practices for the following I noticed but nothing has been addressed so far as of this date:
1. Men’s Locker room hot spa - temperature too low. Other lifetime faculties in the area is much higher.
2. Men’s locker room shower - soapy water flowing out of the shower stalls into the pathway. Very dangerous and potential Health & Safety hazard. I told them specifically that I will report to the city H&S dept on this issue if not properly addressed ASAP. It’s also a potential legal implication if somebody falls and breaks their hip or back.

I won’t go into the best and worst comparison of Lifetime gyms that I have visited. This Lifetime in particular is just the pace that I desire. It isn’t over crowded during the morning or anytime even when the parking lot is full. I am able to get all of my training in without having to wait in a machine or a squat rack at anytime of the day. I’m not
Sure if it will change in the future, but I do enjoy it for what it has to offer at this point in time. The bathrooms are always clean and the staff is friendly.

Not my favorite lifetime in the Dallas-Metroplex area, however the new equipment and amazing staff do make up for the in my opinion butchered floor plan/layout. Most lifetimes have a similar layout but this one is just off. Although it was a great time working out, i felt other lifetimes just have more advanced machinery and a more effective floor plan. Sauna and locker rooms are amazing mostly because it’s a new location. If you live walking distance it is definitely worth it, but for me I’ll be sticking to my closer Lifetime as I don’t see the slightly longer drive being worth much.

Very disappointing, I use to go to CR fitness when it was copper didn’t like it then nothing ever worked and very rude and unfriendly staff than I started going to Lifetime Allen really liked it still do, full gym they have everything you could possibly want in the gym including 3 and indoor and outdoor pool and and hot tub the staffs are amazing helpful friendly!!!and everything works great! But since is location was opening in my neighborhood I was excited to try or maybe go to both but unfortunately today I was very disappointed in CR Lifetime! Such a waste of setup and money. So for me is Allen location!

My bf & I have been lifetime members for several years & have been to tons of locations, he even goes out of state to different locations & we both love this one! It’s super clean, plenty of machines, never crowded (might change once people find out about this hidden gem), locker rooms are really nice, love the shower setup- glass doors, towel rack inside the shower stall instead of on the outside (i love that bc I’ve had clothes stolen while showering in different location) sauna & hot tubs located in each locker room instead of a community one. The only thing I found weird is that the men’s locker rooms are directly above the women’s on separate floors instead of on the same floor but considering this was once a different gym, that’s most likely the layout/plumbing design they already had so it makes more sense if you think of it in that respect. The cafe is really nice & I LOVE that they have a walking track that majority of gyms don’t offer. We have zero complaints about this location!

Why doesn’t the new location offer more non hot yoga classes? If you look at Allen location they offer about 50/50 on heated versus regular yoga. I can’t do hot yoga due to health reasons and most of the classes at Craig Ranch are Heated so I can’t take them. Please give regular yoga classes without high temp and Balance it out. There are way too many heated yoga classes right now. I tried to make this suggestion at the front desk also.

As a previous Craig Ranch fitness member, I’m going to have to say I do miss how it was before (turf, tennis courts, basketball). This renovation IMO was not necessary, but it’s also easy to say it is beautiful inside! You have to take a tour, try the classes and check out the therapy they offer.
As it’s brand new, they are of course still getting situated but we are loving it so far. Yes, the price is insane compared to the $45 a month it once was. But, we use the membership, and appreciate the amenities so we still feel satisfied with joining. If you’re on the fence about joining go ahead and do it. It’s such a clean, and well structured gym with a modern facelift. We even bought pickle-ball rackets for Christmas, and LOVE to play now!

I’ve visited three Lifetimes and McKinney is my favorite! It doesn’t have some of the bells and whistles, but the amazing staff make up for everything. It’s not crowded and pretentious and the kids club staff are caring and friendly. As someone who feels generally out of place at the gym, I feel welcomed and at home.

I am a former Craig Ranch Fitness member who had been eager to rejoin the new and supposely improved CR LT, but sadly it is not at all what I expected. I swim a lot and already the temp is at 76 degrees as of December 19. A new pool heater was needed since the prior one was way too small and I also was informed that the covers are not being put on in these frigid days. In order to keep the pool warm for swimmers the covers MUST be placed on the pool every single night. It should be a requirement for the closing staff and if you are going to charge the prices you are then you must have a working, warm pool. Whomever checked off on the pool did not do the proper job or hire a good, experieced aquatic director. So you once again the gym will be low on members & the place will lose massive money. It's ashame as this facility has the capacity to be gorgeous & wonderful, but due to ineffective management will not and I won't join. I know plenty others who are very upset as well.

Great facility! Fantastic staff! I have been here almost everyday since it opened and have not scratched the surface of everything that is available. There is a staggering amount of equipment. No issues getting access to the equipment you want.
The staff is amazing. Very helpful, very knowledgeable and very encouraging. Lifetime offers a lot of free orientation services- personal training, nutrition, classes. My wife and I had been wanting to try pickleball so we took a free intro class with Erin. She is really helpful, got us introduced to the game and excited to play. Next I am considering tackling my ambition to swim. Lifetime has a beautiful outdoor lap pool that is heated to 80 degrees- kind of hard to pass up….
