We liked Sugar Land LifeTime so far. But of recently, the new manager has been kicking out good instructors and cancelling good classes. we liked the strength training class by Ashley Murphy who was let go, even though she was a very good instructor. There was a good thursday yoga class by Hoda, which was also yanked off. Recently the prices were hiked too. But still the gym has been slashing good instructors and classes. It is all happened after the new Studio Manager hired. Unfortunately, these reviews wont be looked by anyone higher up the corporate.

Tisha Bodak terminated the best asset at this club. I will go wherever Ashley Murphy is. It’s truly disappointing they would terminate a star trainer. Ashley gave me my moneys worth at this club. What’s even more shocking is that Tisha changed the time of her fully booked class on Monday at 7:15 pm to 7:00 pm, knowing Ashley would be RUNNING from her previous class to make it to this one. It’s as if she wanted to make things tough on her to “push” her out. I’m sorry but what kind of management is Tisha Bodak leading? It’s unorganized and unfair to Ashley. Everyone loved her. I lost my respect for this club.

Nearly 20-year member. Since the new manager arrived, Sugar Land Lifetime has gone downhill. Fees keep rising while member side service drops. Great, experienced instructors were removed, and many group classes are being canceled with no explanation. Poor management decisions are affecting hundreds of loyal, long-term members. Many of us have written to Lifetime Sugar Land and the corporate office, but everyone receives the same auto-response with no real action taken. This used to be a great club, but the Current LF Sugarland of TX management is truly hurting the community

My family and I have been at this gym for 5 years now. I remember just last year it was at 4.7 stars.... (Please read to the end to see the reason for this review) We loved the old family feel and warmth. This gym was more than a gym for so many people. I was a Comunity. We made lasting friendships and even envited staff to birthdays and special events. We felt like we would stay here for our whole life in Sugar Land. I even had a terrible car accident and had to learn how to walk again. This gym helped to make it possible. Thr staff was wonderful, and so caring. We felt like this was our life-line back to normalcy in a way.
Now we get to 2024.
The gym started making staff changes. We didn't like seeing our favorite people being let go for issues more based on restructuring than actual metrics. However we learned about the new staff and they became new members to our amazing gym family. And we all fell back into a nice rhythm. However in mid 2025 they made a change in management again in for the studio classes without having a solid GM, and thats where I feel things fell of the tracks all together.
We went from welcoming smiles to trainers kicking people off machines mid set to "train" people (More like talking and laughing while disrespecting the other members.) Sectioning off areas as "special" for certain groups, despite us paying nearly 400 a month for a full membership and having some of our favorite activitiesin those areas.
Also firing some of the best people they've had over CLEARLY personal issues. We knew because the day the new manager started, we overheard staff talking about being worried about her managing habits. She us apparently kniwn for holding grudges. (which is 100% unacceptable from an upper management position, as I hold personally in my field). There is no warmth left, the family feeling is fading. Many friends are leaving because they feel the same cold we feel. It is 100% clear that this gym went from #1, to definitely not #1, because the new leadership is more profit driven than community. (Kind of ironic now that its backfiring faster than a suped up Honda Civic).
Well, for 3k a year, we can just go join our neighborhood country club. We'll even save 1k a year.
By the way, firing Ashley was absolutely ridiculous! Bring her back and you may actually make back some of multiple memberships you've lost already. (she was by far the most popular trainer at this gym and about a dozen members left from that absurd decision). This decision has already lost you more money in memberships, than a whole years salary in less than a month!
And don't go blaming the new Sienna location. We have all been there. It's basically the exact same model that this place is becoming.

Me and my family of four used to love coming to this location. The staff was friendly, accommodating, made us feel heard and important. In the past few months, there have been a lot of staff changes and the feel and vibe of the gym has changed tremendously. It is becoming increasingly apparent that the new staff does not care about the existing community. At this gym, but is more profit driven. Just recently, the new manager for group fitness Trish, fired one of the most popular trainers at this location. Ashley's classes we're always full sometimes with a line out the door for people trying to get in. I myself came 3 to 4 times weekly.Just for her classes and have lost twenty pounds. After having my baby thanks to her.
Myself and many members have complained about this decision, but we have been brushed off pretty rudely.I might add. Now many of my friends and acquaintances, I have got to know at this location over the years are leaving because this decision.

The lifetime of sugar land has bad leadership. Ashley M was the best instructor and she always work hard . The club new leader fired her without any reason.
Ashley M always motivated us and she was not just teaching and workout with us , She changed our life and our health.
Please bring her back ASAP. .

As evidenced by several other recent reviews (sort reviews by Newest), many decade long members are contemplating the termination of their membership largely in part due to the introduction of Tisha Lanni-Bodak as “Studio Leader.” As others have mentioned, she seems to have some kind of ego-driven vendetta against popular instructors…either cancelling their classes or firing them on unreasonable grounds (then taking over their previously popular classes herself). Many members have met with Ms. Lanni-Bodak in person and/or otherwise expressed their opinions; their feedback has evidently not led to congruent changes. Given the fact that other reviews have also explicitly called out the root of the issue, namely the aforementioned individual, it seems odd and foolish for LifeTime to continue to stick to their guns with her leadership. It is an inappropriate and unprofessional position to put your patrons in. Would steer clear of this location.

I have been a member of this club for more than 15 years. They recently wrongfully fired the best instructor they have Ashley Murphy.
Ashley has been an integral part of this club’s identity and a major contributor to member satisfaction, retention, and long-term engagement. Her leadership, professionalism, and unwavering dedication have directly shaped the success of the group fitness program and have fostered a loyal community that many members consider irreplaceable.
Her removal — without communication, transparency, or reasonable justification — has negatively impacted numerous members who have relied on her instruction, motivation, consistency, and expertise.
Please bring her back

I was absolutely devastated to hear the extremely upsetting news on Monday that Ashley Murphy had been terminated by Tisha Lanni-Bodak in an extremely questionable and discriminatory manner. The termination of our amazing Ashley Murphy has left hundreds of her loyal class members absolutely numb and heartbroken. DO NOT JOIN LIFETIME FITNESS if you plan to go to the Sugar Land location.
We have collected hundreds of names on a petition, and everyone says the same thing: Ashley was the ONLY reason we pay a lot of money to be a member of LT SL. It is NOT LifeTime, and the management there is horrific. We will ALL be immediately following Ashley when she starts her new job at a place that will truly appreciate her expertise, dedication, and loyal and devoted client base.
For those reading this review, who do not know Ashley, here is a little bit about her:
Ashley motivates, challenges, inspires, and keeps her members coming back with passion and consistency. She builds confidence in all who attend her classes and encourages everyone to do their best every class, providing guidance and support throughout each class on form and breathing techniques. Ashley always provides nutritional tips and urges everyone to feed/fuel their bodies after workouts and throughout the day and to stay hydrated. Ashley constantly offers assistance to everyone in her class, she lets us all know that she is available in between classes and via text or phone even when she is not working. She is extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and has absolutely perfect technique and form. I admire her and often wonder how she can constantly, flawlessly, and perfectly execute each class (especially when she has back-to-back classes).
Ashley literally has a following, we joke that we're like a cult, lol. So many of us religiously and enthusiastically attend several of Ashley's classes every week. We have become friends, support each other, and hold each other accountable. This is the atmosphere and environment that Ashley fosters and promotes. Many of us arrive to class a little early, not only to set up for class, but to chat and hug before class begins. Ashley is the sole reason that we show up early, push harder, and stay so dedicated to our workouts. Conversation always takes place after our classes where we, no matter how fit some of us are, express that her class killed us, but we always say it with a huge smile and feel SO GOOD about ourselves as we walk out to the parking lot to head home.

I have been a member at Lifetime Fitness at Sugarland for the past 10 years. Where I have been taking Ashley’s classes for the longest time. She is a TOP PERFORMING instructor, always challenging me in my gym journey here at Lifetime Fitness. Ashley has created a positive culture with our gym family, where our members support and motivate each other. This is what a TRUE LEADER should possess, the skills to motivate ourselves and keep us together in our fitness journey. She has been FIRED for no reason given. Destroying our gym family members. Lifetime has not been listening to the members concerns and have been taking decisions to benefit the few. Lifetime has been lacking a decisive leader for the past 2 years. The gym chain that was once at the pinnacle of fitness, has now fell short in leadership.
THANK YOU ASHLEY MURPHY FOR BEING THE BEST OF LIFETIME SUGAR LAND!!!

Very disappointed in this club’s decisions of recent. They fired the most influential instructor at this club, Ashley Murphy, citing she’s “too tough”. She’s been here 14 years. She’s the reason I keep coming to this gym. Her classes are always full to the brim with waitlists. She was let go by a new fitness manager, Tisha Bodak. Ashley is what makes this gym what it is. She is motivating and amazing at what she does. She pushes you and has a cult following. People drive far just for her classes. There is no general manager currently and our complaints fall on deaf ears on corporate. They are destroying the family here at Lifetime Sugar Land. Bring Ashley back.

Ashley Murphy is the best trainer/instructor lifetime sugar land ever had and they fired her for no reason. Check out the class schedule and you will see that Ashley's classes are always full. I have to set an alarm to remind me to book her classes because they fill up so fast! In a world where numbers matter, lifetime sugar land fired the only trainer that fills the seats. Ashley pushes you to train hard every class from Xtreme to HIIT to barbell strength to name a few. And she does the exercises with the class to inspire you to push even harder. Every year she wins an award from lifetime corporate office, so explain to me why she was fired! I've been with lifetime for 10 years. This may be my last.

Ever since this LifeTime hired a new Studio Manager, a few of my favorite and wonderful instructors have been let go. The frustrating thing is that no clear reason was given to us members who love these instructors and are motivated to go to the gym because of them. Emails to corporate only gives us a canned generic response with no action. I am contemplating cancelling my membership because the environment is toxic and not welcoming.

I have been a Lifetime member for the past ten years, but I will be cancelling my membership this Wednesday. Although the membership cost is high compared to other gyms in the area, I had always found value in Lifetime because of its quality classes. Unfortunately, under the direction of Ms. Tisha Wisdom Lanni-Bodak, I have seen many popular classes shortened, reduced, or removed altogether. Members plan their schedules around these classes, and the constant upheaval of the class schedule under Ms. Tisha has made it difficult for me—and many others—to maintain a consistent exercise routine.
This past Monday was my final straw. After a long day at work, I arrived for my 7 PM hot yoga class to find that the instructor, Ms. Ashley Murphy, was absent. No notice had been provided in advance. I and others went to Ms. Tisha to inquire about the change to the schedule and were informed that Ms. Ashley had been terminated. The handling of this situation was disrespectful to members, who were not notified that Ms. Ashley's class would be cancelled, and to Ms. Ashley, who was evidently given no prior notice of her termination.
Given the poor management under Ms. Tisha’s leadership, I can no longer continue my membership at Lifetime. I will also be writing a letter to corporate to further detail my concerns regarding the erosion of quality instructors such as Ms. Hoda under Ms. Tisha's leadership.

The staff should pay closer attention to the hot tub / cold plunge area. There are a multitude of people of a certain demographic that frequent this area and do not follow the rules. There are often Middle-Aged women wearing transparent clothing that you can't unsee, and even people wearing just a towel. Completely unacceptable! The rest of the gym is fine, but you should be cautious bringing children to the water area until the issues are addressed and remediated.

Great gym with plenty of machines and dumbbells available.
My only small suggestion is to make it a bit more kid-friendly. There aren’t many classes for elementary-aged kids, and right now the only real option for them is the Kids Club event on Saturdays during Parents’ Night Out.

Can we please get more smith machines, people are always waiting around for it, I can’t believe there’s only 2 smith machines in this entire gym. It’s one of the most popular machines and some people spend their whole workout on that machine so others don’t even get the chance to use it, there’s enough extra space for them to add more, really appreciate it if they added that, second in demand is most definitely the hip thrust machine

I cancelled my membership at another gym just to go here about 9 years back..loved it until they started pushing the time back and taking away all the good equipments...I get off late from work so closing at 12 am doesn't work out with my schedule..all the people that worked out late started coming a little earlier and now it's significantly busier at nights and the classes are all over the floor where there's no room for a person to have personal space to workout...I suggest doing classes in the studios not on the floor and tradmills. Paying over $200 and not being able to workout bc there classes going on that take over all the floor and treadmills and dumbbells is a bit too much..1 stars for employees bc it's not their fault...might have to find another gym soon!

Absolutely amazing! Lifetime Athletic Sugar Land is the definition of a world-class fitness and lifestyle club. Every detail here is top-notch — from the cutting-edge exercise equipment to the warm and professional team that makes you feel at home the moment you walk in.
The gym floor is spotless and filled with state-of-the-art machines for every type of workout. The spa is a true retreat, perfect for recharging after training. The café serves fresh, healthy, and genuinely delicious meals and smoothies, which makes it so easy to stick to good habits.
The aquatics area is stunning — the swimming pool is always pristine, whether you’re doing laps or relaxing. For something more social and fun, the pickleball courts are a blast and really showcase how Lifetime goes beyond just a gym to create a full community.
From fitness to wellness to leisure, Lifetime Sugar Land delivers on every front. Truly one of the best investments in health and happiness you can make.

For an expensive gym, this location does not meet the standards for many reasons.
1) staff is not as friendly as other locations
2) not clean. Men's locker room always smells bad. Showers smell bad. Steam room smells like sewers mixed with essential oils.
3) Jacuzzi full of sand and pebbles, probably never cleaned.
4) outdoor pool is dirty, with a lot of sand and small objects on the floor.
5) towels are overused, thin, and scratchy
6) sun beds are without cushins, unlike other Life Time locations
Overall, this location is subpar compared to other locations like Greenway. A lot of renovation is needed in addition to better cleaning. The facility looks overused.

I travel frequently and have the opportunity to visit many Life Time locations. This particular club is the closest to me, and while I enjoy coming here, I’ve noticed some concerns that I’d like to share.
The gym floor is often overcrowded, especially during peak hours. In other Life Time locations I’ve visited, members are allowed to use the studio rooms for personal workouts whenever classes aren’t in session. That flexibility makes a huge difference, especially for those of us who like to use yoga mats or need more space to exercise.
It’s disappointing that here the studio rooms are locked and member access is restricted. At one point, we were allowed to use them when classes weren’t taking place, so it’s frustrating to see that access removed.
I understand the concern about past incidents of tampering with or damaging equipment, but it feels unfair that the entire membership is penalized because of the actions of a few. I hope the club will consider reinstating member access to the studios when they’re not in use—it would greatly improve the workout experience for many of us.

Never had anything bad to say about this place, but I just tried to finish my workout and apparently they lock the studios now even if there’s no classes. I like to go in the studio because they have the mirrors and the bar and I can work on my dance technique and workout without being surrounded by a lot of people and the extra music and lights. It’s low stimuli and makes me less nervous. The last class was at 10am. I came at 1pm and it was open when I started weight lifting. Then when finished, it was locked and they said the new manager wants it’s locked. It should be open to the public. I pay a ridiculous amount in My membership. I’ve been coming here since I was 12 years old. I am 31 now And my son comes to the gym as well. I use the café. I use the spa services plus amenities plus Pilates classes and the fact that they can’t keep the studio room open To the public is ridiculous. The classes are free in those rooms regardless, I can understand the Pilates room because you have to pay to be in those classes in that room But not the public studios.

I have been a loyal member at Lifetime Fitness Sugar Land and Missouri City, paying nearly $200 a month for what is billed as a premium, all-inclusive gym experience. While I appreciate the club’s commitment to family-friendly programming and absolutely love seeing kids active and engaged, I am extremely frustrated with the repeated closure of the basketball courts to host kids camps and other revenue-generating events.
The basketball court is a core amenity for many members, myself included. However, lately, it feels like our access is being sacrificed so the club can make additional money by renting out this space for private camps. The posted hours for the basketball courts often indicate open gym availability, but in practice, the courts are frequently closed or off-limits due to these camps, especially during peak times when most adult members would want to play. This is not an isolated issue—other members have voiced similar complaints about being forced out or finding the courts unexpectedly closed, with no one even using them at times.
I want to be clear: I love kids and fully support programs that encourage their fitness and growth. However, shutting down a major amenity that adult members are paying a premium for, simply to generate extra revenue, is unacceptable. We joined Lifetime for the promise of consistent access to top-tier facilities, not to have our experience downgraded or interrupted so the club can double-dip on profits.
At $200 a month, members deserve reliable access to all advertised amenities, including the basketball courts. If Lifetime wants to host camps, they should find a way to do so without displacing paying members or should offer a meaningful discount when services are reduced. Otherwise, it feels like we are subsidizing someone else’s experience at the expense of our own.
Lifetime, please reconsider how you schedule camps and events. Prioritize the experience of your loyal, paying members and ensure that the basketball courts—and other key amenities—remain accessible as promised.

I was very disappointed with this gym's poor operations, appearance and lack of amenities. The only good thing about our visit was that it made my appreciate my regular Lifetime location (Greenway) much more than ever. We visited on Saturday afternoon, 5:30 and the cafe by the pool was already closed. There were no pool towels, the pool area was infested with ants and the women's locker room was a total mess with dirty towels piled on the floor everywhere and no cleaning staff in sight. Gross and disappointing. I won't be back to this location.

Been there for 8yrs and switched to EOS sugar land 9/2024. Lifetime sugar land almost trippled membership fee compared to 8yrs ago. But the service goes down a lot. Group class frequently takes open space, leaving the small weight area even smaller. Limited and outdated equipments are never updated. Many people are literally walking in the swimming pool although lanes are for swimmers only. Many pool lanes are taken/reserved by swimming classes during gold hours 5-7pm. After the EOS sugar land opened last yr, I switched immediately. With less than 1/6 membership cost of lifetime, I still enjoy towel service and much larger and more modern equipments. In addition, they never reserve/take common area for group classes. I have also seen many familiar faces in EOS from lifetime. Not sure how long this business can survive. But I am pretty sure the cost does not worth it at all, not even close.

Ashton led us through the walkthrough, and his attention to detail was impressive. He was thorough, communicated clearly, and brought great energy throughout the process. I just had the rudest experience at this location, and honestly—it reminded me exactly why I left in the first place. As a single mom with two kids, I came in hoping for a positive and welcoming environment. Instead, I was met with unprofessional, dismissive staff and a total charge of $300.00.PLUS
The attitude alone was enough to make anyone feel unwelcome, but to add that kind of cost with zero empathy or customer care? Completely unacceptable.

I believe it was Mai Huynh who works in pickleball. She was rude and pretty disrespectful when my partner and I were trying to play during open play. She moved our paddles without us knowing and tried to insist that other people were better. It was an all level open play, so regardless of skills how are players supposed to get better if not playing with better people, we insulted and Mai was not being professional. One of the PICKLEBALL instructors went past her scheduled time keeping us waiting to use that court. Then when one of the people waiting bring this to her attention she gets defensive trying to justify it! It's not fair to the rest of us even if we're not paying $16 an hour for private Lessons! If this happens again several of us are Canceling our memberships.
P.S.- at least one of the Hot Tubs was hotter than the other for those of us who like and benefit from it but since it was last repaired its just above Lukewarm. And this past Thursday there was a lot of " dirty, scummy foam that was in the only working hot tub. YUK! 🤢😖

Too bad! 👎👎👎👎👎Bad service! I made reservations of massage but no one to operate it. Even I called the counter, they still didn’t operate it. I go to counter , they still did not operate. Eventually I wait for 25 min, ask the counter to operate it. She still operated wrongly. It’s so bad. It waste time . It waste lifetime.

In response to the owner's feedback, I want to clarify that each time this incident occurred, I reached out to your staff. Unfortunately, the issue was not resolved after three attempts.
I began personal training sessions at Lifetime Fitness Sugar Land and worked with a trainer named Landon for a few months. Upon deciding to take a break, I explicitly canceled my services on December 23, expecting no further charges until I was ready to resume. Despite this, I was erroneously charged $960 in January. After multiple texts to Landon and finally getting the charge reversed with a promise it wouldn't happen again, the same issue recurred in February and then astonishingly a third time in March.
Each instance required significant effort on my part to rectify, involving calls to the main office and promises from management that such errors would cease. Unfortunately, these assurances proved hollow, as my card was charged yet again without my authorization. The process to obtain refunds has been needlessly complicated, with corporate indicating that only the Sugar Land manager, George Breissinger, could issue refunds—a process I find ridiculous and inefficient.
This experience has severely eroded my trust in Lifetime Fitness. While I understand that mistakes can happen, repeating the same mistake three times, even after direct assurances were given, is inexcusable. It speaks volumes about the poor management and lack of accountability within this club. I had hoped to resume my training eventually, but I no longer trust my trainer or the management team to handle my billing correctly.
To other members: please review your statements carefully. This experience has shown that the club may not manage billing with the due diligence it requires. While everyone makes mistakes, the inability to prevent recurring issues after multiple alerts is concerning and indicative of deeper systemic problems. I cannot recommend their services based on my experience.

Customer service is in a downward spiral. Today I couldn’t find a resistance band, the locked up the rack with 7/8 bands. I was told people are stealig resistance bands😊 I have not seen one missing since I started using them in February of this year. Cost of replacing these bands will be way less than the cost of detergent they use because they are lazy to reinforce good behavior to their members not to use 100 towels. Every class you go there are towels everywhere, you see them in the parking lot too but they decided to hid 10 dollar resistance band.

I’m really confused as to what I’m paying for. The gym is filthy alllll the time. There were three consecutive days where the majority of wipe dispensers in the gym were completely empty…so basically there’s no way to wipe equipment down before/after use. The other week I was working out and waiting for a piece of equipment for nearly 5 minutes…only for a personal trainer to swoop in (knowing I was waiting) and grab it for a client - I was shocked. Is someone’s personal training session more important that my workout? Especially when I already spent a considerable amount of time waiting. Lastly, the gym is truly a mess - weights everywhere, literally just thrown wherever. There’s always towels and trash thrown about. The bathrooms are disgusting. Isn’t this supposed to be a “luxury” gym? Here are some photos from my workout last night….and yes, that is a piece of gum someone stuck on the cardio equipment…

You can abuse their employees as much as you like and the company will fire them if they have a problem with it. For the narcissists elite mentality, this is your spot. If you break their equipment they won't care. If you steal, they will blame it on an employee. No repercussions for bad behavior until the 6th or 11th event. Stalkers have been a problem as well in the past with little to no concern until authorities get involved. A friend of mine had a 26k dollar watch his father gave him before passing and there wasn't so much of an investigation. To be fair that event specifically occurred at the city center location. If I remember correctly, Lifetime told him tough luck so he quit the gym. Just like the company wanted undoubtedly.

On a daily basis, the other locations within the same price tier have more kids' afterschool activities, like ballet, cheer, soccer, karate, dodgeball, etc. For that reason, I drive out 35 minutes to that location instead of going to this location, which is 10 minutes from my house.

Its nicer then other gyms but its wayyyyyyy more expensive over $150 a month. If you go 4-5 times a week maybe its worth it. At $399.00, plus tax for a family of five; honestly, this Lifetime location needs someone to teach them manners, lessons in professionalism--very shameful, so disappointing--I will not go back and subject my family and I to such disrespect and humiliation!

The front desk gentleman with a suit on provided an outstanding experience. I'm bad with names, sorry. He is knowledgeable and didn't miss a single thing to my questions. Matter of fact, he took his time to show me how to use the locker combination. That was really nice of him.
Equipment: 3/5
They are a bit dated and lack variety compared to my previous gym. It'd be nice if the Management upgraded them. As of right now, it will do but I'm not impressed.
Crowd: 5/5
Peope here are nice and actually putting the weight back to the rack. They communicate with you if they need to use the machine. The gym is not crowded so plenty of equipment for you to use.
Amenities: 5/5
They have indoor, outdoor pool, food bar, spa, and kids zone. This is nice compared to what I had before.
Looking forward to come here 4 times a week aside from my Jiu-Jitsu, and UFC training.

So let’s talk about how I had to end my workout early because one of the trainers named André decided he wanted to introduce everyone to the origins of Hip Hop by blasting his music through a speaker in the general workout area like he himself was the owner of Life Time.
I get that he probably has priority because he was training some of his clients, but why must everyone be subjected to the tunes of cardboard box break dancing, and beat box rap music. It clearly was distracting and interrupting all of the other members workouts, including mine.
I stated my grievances to management and apparently he does this often and other members have complained about it as well. All I’m saying is let’s keep the music to a minimal level that doesn’t impede on everyone else. If I wanted to be subjected to kangol hat and adidas sweatsuit music, then I would tune into the BET Hip Hop Honors.
Other than that, love the staff and everyone is great! Can’t wait to see the new renovations.

Given how infrequently people order at the LifeCafe, there is absolutely no excuse for that 89 food inspection score. The debris in the outdoor pool needs to be cleaned up, one wonders why the water slides only run once in a blue moon, and why do so many of the bathroom/locker room facilities reek so much? There have been a few times I've seen leftover razors in the shower stalls, and there really should rounds of people looking at that. As for the fitness facilities, there seem to be a good mix of programs and equipment appropriate to the number of members who regularly use the facility. Judging from the large percentage of elderly customers past retirement age, it's a sure bet that many are being subsidized by their health care plans, and inordinate ratio of low impact exercise equipment reflects that.

Update:
****
Location is still filthy and nothing has been done by management to fix anything. GM is a joke and has not attempted to reach out despite all my contact details being tied to my account. A generic response to my review, and others complaining about the same thing is useless. LT needs to hire and train people to clean the gym correctly, inside and out.
Otherwise corporate should be looking to hire a new GM asap.
****
Poorly maintained location. Excited to see how the new Sienna one will hold up.
None of the umbrella mist systems work outside , despite increased membership costs. Would be nice if they built some outdoor pickleball in the empty field behind, like the Baybrook location has.
Overall very poor cleanliness of locker room shower, Sauna, and steam room areas. Always gross stuff left from the people. But the same stuff shouldn’t be there for more than two hours, during working hours. You will also notice lights out, missing toiletries, lockers not working as they should and no repairs to follow up.
Backtracking to when this location was first built, cleanliness and maintenance was significantly better, but has been going downhill since then. Overall, it just seems like the current management is not walking the property regularly and checking in with employees to see where some issues may be operationally.
But on the other hand the signature class instructors are really top notch. But nite that this location does not have Alpha Strength and they never sent a notice about it, just simply took it off the schedule.
Also shoutout to the front desk staff Patrick and Kim are always super friendly and teaching new ways that I can use my membership.

Literally the filthiest Life Time in America, I not only complained dozens of times but people all over Houston talk about how nasty it is here. My membership is like 159 a month but 3 times i switched to Greenway which is like 350 a month just to have a clean toilet seat. The water is so nasty here i often request tools to clean pool for them. And they have like 10-12 staff standing around all the time talking to each other at the pool not one person cleaning jack, the reason they always give is because they have more customers than other clubs, but doesn’t that mean with more income you can hire more cleaning staff? They got one poor guy here every night alone trying it clean.
They need either a new manager or sell this location to LA Fitness.

It is with great disappointment I'm writing this review. Our son attended summer camp at the Sugarland location. When I went to pick him up I asked him how his day was. He told be a boy named Clark tried to touch his food and when he wouldn't let him Clark hit him in the face. Obviously I was very upset to hear this and asked him if he told a camp instructor. He said yes but nothing happened. When I asked one of the summer camp instructors what happened he stated Clark has had several incidents already and they have spoken to his mother. I spoke to Buck the camp Director and expressed my frustration. Buck assured me Lifetime would handle this and the General Manager, Nik would be in contact. When I did not heard back from the GM or any representative of Lifetime I emailed Buck and asked when I should hear back. He said I would hear back from Nik today. It has now been a week and still no response from anyone of upper management. How is it possible that Lifetime allows anyone at their facility to be physically assaulted let alone a five year old child and still let the assailant be allowed to participate? Parents please please take caution when consider leaving your child for these summer camp activities.

Lifetime member for over 12 years. Started at City Centre location and worked there as a personal trainer. Absolutely no complaints there. However, Sugarland location should not be classified as a lifetime. It's at the same level as a LA fitness in terms of cleanliness, management, and expectations. Now, paying $300/month for the highest level access (Diamond level) is not enough to have access to pickleball courts (price gouging). Employees spend more time playing pickleball rather than fulfilling their work requirements. I've even been singled out and kicked off the court while other non-signature members played on. GM is either completely oblivious or careless of member satisfaction. What happened to getting what you pay for? Will be canceling my family membership by the end of year if no changes are made.

I’ve tried to hard not to do this but this location and management needs to be addressed. This is the worst maintained lifetime fitness I’ve seen. Took management 6 months to change a broken shower head in the family handicap shower. Replace a low tier shower head with a looks like a dollar general shower head I didn’t think they could’ve gone with a lower grade. It’s there if you guys wanna see yourself. The pool is gross never vacuumed or cleaned the floor has never been cleaned since pre summer. I come here 2 to 3 times a week. And I’m very observant but of course when mentioned the staff would say otherwise and put on a pony show. And that’s not why I’m fed up. My 5 years came home with molluscum contagiosum after the day I complained about how filthy this outdoor pool is. Staff doesn’t really care if grown adults with no kids wonder around in family room. I’ve seen these same adults come use the family restrooms let’s just say the only kids they’re dropping off is in that toilet. If you’re trying to join I would suggest another location. This place is a complete disaster. I will be taking more photos this was just last Saturday. Just to give you an idea of the quality of maintenance and management that’s painters blue tape holding pieces of the slide together and slide was not closed for this. I can’t make this up. That’s the slide launch in case you can’t tell. 🤦♂️

The equipment and facilities are fine. Unfortunately, the ever-increasing price tag doesn't meet the expectations of an ever- shrinking gym. $50/month extra for pickleball? You took a free bball court and made it an upcharge for something I never want to try. Who told yall that was cool?
And the clientele is on the decline as the careless, selfish, and often inappropriate behavior is ignored by the staff as well as the complaints made previously about such incidents. As I type this, there is a grown man in the co-ed hot tub in his underwear. You can pay for the membership, but you can't buy class.

The front desk staff deserves 5 stars. But that's as far as the 5 star service goes here.
I've scheduled 2 spa appointments, both were cancelled last minute.
For my onboarding as a new member, the trainer I was scheduled with just never showed up. (No call, no show)
I rescheduled with another trainer so we'll see how that goes.
Jay who works in childcare should not work with kids. He is extremely passive aggressive and just rude/mean towards kids. He should be a fun leader, coach type IMO but acts like a strict parent on the encounters I've witnessed. I have always trusted LT childcare but this location makes it difficult. My kids don't enjoy any of the events anymore (compared to other locations).
The location is mostly clean. Rollers and various items are always missing.
The locker room showers have hair every where. This speaks about the members and staff. If you are taking a shower, don't paste your hair to the walls and handles. Clean up after yourself!
Towels are available but they are very low quality. I've been a member at other LT gyms and none of them had towels like this (very thin and rough).
Hopefully this location can pull things together and be amazing. No reason why it can't be!!

My experience at Life Time Fitness was underwhelming, to say the least. As a 27-year-old male, I was hoping for a gym that would motivate and challenge me to achieve my fitness goals. Unfortunately, this was not the case. While the gym was clean enough, the equipment was outdated and in need of maintenance. I found it difficult to find the equipment I needed to complete my workouts, and when I did find it, it was often in disrepair. The atmosphere was not very motivating, and the staff seemed indifferent to my needs. I did appreciate the variety of class offerings, but found that they were often overcrowded and not very challenging. I also found it frustrating that the gym's hours were not very accommodating to my schedule. Overall, while there were some positive aspects, I would not recommend Life Time Fitness to anyone looking for a serious, results-driven gym experience.

We decided to cancel our family membership as it has become impossible to play basketball for our son as pickleball and birthday parties are all at the same court. We were told the price would be the same if two or three people were in the group membership. Over the last two years, this place has lost its charm, become more arrogant, and overall many services have degraded. And, mind it, they will take 30 days to cancel your membership (a way to grab another month's fees if someone leaves). Previously, we complained to corporate about the basketball court, but they referred us back to local management. Not worth the super luxury price they charge.

I have been a member at Lifetime at multiple locations since 2019 - I’ve been at this location since 2021.
Now that Covid has subsided they have increased the price 3 times in the last year with no warning or explanation. The standard of customer service is appalling and the staff are so rude - specifically one trainer Lorie thinks she owns the gym and tells people to “get out” of the common gym space because of her classes. They use up half the gym at peak times for classes making it difficult for the rest of us to work out. I have never been spoken to in that way in a gym in my 15 years of working out.
Lots of other members complain but nothing is ever done to rectify the situation.
Save yourself a headache and money and join another gym. This location is not worth it.

There are so many gyms in this area do not go here. The instructors are so rude and they use so much of the gym for classes so if you want to workout alone at peak times it's almost impossible. There is no customer service and they refuse to own up to their mistakes. I have also found human feces in the showers before, there are regularly no towels in the family locker rooms and adult men using them without children which is extremely uncomfortable. The swimsuit drier in the family locker room hasn't worked for months and never gets fixed. I have picked up my children several times from the child care to find them blasting loud music full of explicit content and swears and when I asked them to please turn that off around children they only turned it down.
They have no respect for their members and refuse to make any improvements to the service
Save your money and go somewhere else. It's one of the most expensive gyms in the area ($160 per adult as of Feb 2023)

some worker there need to put a board on the threadmill to reserve the hours for the trainer. It is very rude to take 2 roles of threadmill when gym is full and people are in midle of their work out. Many people get kick out, that is rude.

If you're young and want to get a cheap workout with the basics, maybe with a buddy, significant other, or spouse, this is not the place for you.
My general impression is that it caters to older folks who may or may not have younger children. More pickleball and no basketballs? Great! My knees have been terrible for years! Young kids gallivanting in the swimming pool totally ignoring the safety notices plastered everywhere? Big plus. I feel a little dumb being the only one who seems to actually follow them, but that's my business. The Kids gym actually has more than one overworked employee to watch umpteen dozen kids! Parents' Night Out! Not having to hunt down a sitter is a benefit. The phrase "Parents may leave gym" on a flyer is a big dose of happy. The family locker room seems grungy and more rank compared to the guys' which is weird.
It's a wasteland for 13-18 year olds since there are few extracurriculars to do once you grow out of the kids gym, but maybe that's the idea. They all seem to end up at cheaper gyms where their friends let literally hundreds of them work out free in the summer. That's why I stopped going in the first place. I imagine they make up for the revenue loss by raising their monthly membership roughly a gold doubloon every now and then.
And hey, a couple of hot tubs, a dry sauna, and a steam room? That's like a third of an Asian bathhouse. Get an ice room, a dry room that'll leave you medium rare, serve Kimchi, ancient eggs, tea, tofu and bulgogi at LifeCafe, and we're set.
Some of the best features are that they don't annoy you with higher pressure sales tactics, lack of customers and employees trying to lowkey hookup, and the cost of entry keeps the Gen Z'ing down to a minimum. People don't rerack the weights frequently enough, but this seems endemic to all large gyms nowadays? That is a Gen Z thing. A couple of signs to remind it's good etiquette couldn't hurt, but maybe they'll feel that being pressured about courtesy microagresses on their safe spaces.
One thing to especially to improve however is I constantly see people who have not the foggiest idea how to safely work out, never mind doing proper reps. People used to correct this as a matter of course, but no one does. I understand employees not volunteering to do it because liability, but aren't the basic introduction courses included? I mean, they offer us towels when we look extra sweaty. Maybe there should be signs. "For the sake of your hospital bills please take the introductory class!" We might see less people hobbling out of the gym because they've been doing who knows what.
It's probably the Pickleball.

My weekly workout placeZ there are plenty of machines and a variety of ways to workout. I like to take the extra time to enjoy the steam room and showers. Bring good shower shoes since the floors are slippery.
The deli is okay but I keep asking for certain meals and the answer is they don’t have the all of the ingredients.
Also, don’t send me in-app announcements about your meals during my workouts. Sheesh!
