Working out here is basically therapy with punches. The staff is awesome, the workouts are full-body and kick your butt (in the best way). I might look mad as hell while punching the bag but I swear I’m having a good time. I burn at least 400 calories per 45-minute class. 10/10

I’ve been coming a handful of times and I love LDF! James is a wonderful coach and the community here is so welcoming!
It is something I have begun to look forward to after a hectic work week.

The classes are beginner friendly and are circuit style so you’re getting a good mix of everything. James will always help with your technique and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you adapt as you keep going.

I took the Strength & Conditioning class on the last day of 2024 and it was a great way to end the year and get a head start on 2025's resolutions. James was really helpful with demoing and adjusting my posture or form when I was slightly off. My arms are going to be sore tomorrow, but in a good way. If you are looking for no-frills workouts that get to the point, try this place.

I took a class today . There was no one but me the day before thanksgiving. James instruction was amazing. Being a woman sometimes I get intimidated by this gyms but James made me feel comfortable so I just power up thru the work out which made me feel amazing for the rest of the day. He is very patient and explains very well the movements. I’m coming back for sure .

Came here for the first time earlier this week and I honestly loved it! I've been on the hunt for a kickboxing class and this one is it. Coach James was attentive, patient and helped me correct my form. I definitely got a great work out in! I'm still sore two days later but I can't wait to go back. They also offer strength and conditioning classes so that's next on my list to try!

Highly recommended. Took the kickboxing class with my wife today. Neither of us had any experience with boxing. The trainer,James, was awesome. He showed us technique and combos and took the time to work with each of us individually while putting a solid 45-50 minute workout. Heavy focus on the core aside from the boxing aspect of it. I definitely plan to go back and make this part of my weekly workout routine. Thank you!

This is a total hidden gem tucked away behind an auto body shop. I took the kickboxing class — it was super fun and high energy, and involved a combination of bag work and stregnth training. I've been kickboxing for 10+ years and found the workout engaging and challenging.

The instructor and everyone in the class was SUPER welcoming and friendly. Even if you've never tried kickboxing before, this is a perfect, no-judgement enviorment to get your start.

Lion's Den Fitness is THE BEST!!!! It's conveniently located right off SoCo! The biggest difference for me is the family feel and small class size - each class is 6 people. I found this place on accident and it was perfect since I have been an avid kickboxing-class-goer but I really needed to work in focused strength training.

James (owner/coach) is really down-to-earth, is very patient and does well at instructing proper form. He genuinely cares about your progress! One thing I didn't realize I'd really appreciate is the app they use - you can see all the classes and who signs up for the classes and when they're full. Being able to see who else is in class creates a sense of camaraderie which I absolutely love. They also have classes throughout the day, so there is a variety of options if you can't make one. Definitely recommend - it is great for all levels of fitness, whether you are just starting out or well into your fitness journey! Come by and see us!! James does a great job at leading a high energy workout and makes you feel comfortable with exercises that are unfamiliar. I’ve been in fitness for some time now and I learned some new ways to move my body, was challenged by some of the movements, and got smoked. If I could give it a 10/10 I would. I am a new member at Lion's Den.

I have been to many gyms in the area, boxing and otherwise. Lion's Den is a jewel of a gym- maybe Austin's best-kept secret.

What I love:

- COVID-safe Space: The gym is a converted garage, so one wall is completely open to allow for good air flow

- Personal attention: James, the owner and trainer, is constantly checking your form to make sure you are not injuring yourself and that you are getting the most of each movement. He really cares about your success.

- Knowledgeable: Every workout starts with a warm up that includes dynamic stretching. I've seen many instructors forget to include this. It's crucial to avoid injury and to increase flexibility.

-Equipment: The gym has everything you need to get a challenging but fun workout. The classes fly by!

The Body Conditioning class is amazing to get in shape. As far as those who want to join it for the boxing, the Kickboxing class is great for beginners and advanced fighters. You spend a lot of time working on the mitts, unlike other gyms where you are lucky if you get 30 seconds.
